  • Self replicating form pages in Acrobat Pro 9 (Win XP)

    Is it possible to make a single form page, with several text fields, a few drop-down menus, that will duplicate itself into a new page when a button at the bottom of the page is pushed?
    If this is possible, is it also possible to have any fields, drop downs, or buttons, change their name automatically as each new page is created so that there are no conflicts of having multiple form items with the same name?
    For example; Page 1 has a button, "Date1", that when pressed, will insert the current date into field "DateField1".   I press another button, a new page is created which is an exact duplicate of page 1 (with all fields blank) and now, on page 2, there is a button, "Date2", that will insert the current date in "DateField2".
    If this is possible, how do I do it?
    Thank you very much for any help you can proivide,

    Have you looked at the documentation for the template object and the spawn method. You set the 'rename' parameter to 'true' and the spawning method will rename the fields in the template to be prefixed with "P#.templateName." where "#" is the zero based page  number of the spawned template and "templateName" is the name of template that was spawned.

    When I create a from that uses a template, I create the template and then spawn the 1st page of the form before the template and then work out the scripting for the 1st page and template and then hide the template.
    Thanks, but I've already gotten past this point.  The issue I am having now is getting the javascript for the button to automatically append the page prefix to itself so that the button works on that page, not the page it was duplicated from.

    -- Extending WebCenter Spaces 11.1.1.3: Creating New Page Template w/Float Div
    Hi all,
    I am attempting to create a new group space page template for Spaces that has a floating div on the right side that will have content wrap around it. It should look similar in concept to the image in this link:
    http://css.maxdesign.com.au/floatutorial/tutorial0104.htm
    This seems like it should be simple enough but I need to allow dynamic content to be added each region with Oracle Composer. Currently when I am testing this and add content the two regions end up in distinct columns. This appears to be a result of the html elements that get wrapped around the content by the ADF tags. Has anyone successfully created a page template / page similar to this or have any ideas on how I might get it to work? Below is the current code I am using:

    Hi ,
    I understand that you want to be able to select content type when creating a wiki page to a Wiki Page library. In browser ,you cannot add content types to a wiki page library .You need to edit the library in SharePoint Designer.
    Open the site in SharePoint Designer.
    Click on the library. Check ‘Allow management of content types’ in the Settings section.
    Then you can add content types to this page library.
    Then you can add content types in the Site Content Types gallery which inherit from the Wiki Content type.
    Add the newly added content type to the Wiki Page Library.
    In this way ,when you add a new page in the Wiki Page library ,you can choose a different content type .
    Edit the content type in Library Settings .Choose Advanced Settings for the content type .Here you can upload new page for the content type .

  • Placeholder in Pages template can't be replaced.

    Hi there!
    Me again with another Pages template problem.
    One of my templates (named "Einladung" - "invitation" in English) has an image which is marked as placeholder when I move the mouse pointer over it. However, when I try to replace the image with another picture from the media window, the image is not replaced. It just drops the new image over the old one. Size and form of the (new) image is not adjusted either.
    Is this a bug in the template - or can it be fixed - maybe somewhere in preferences?
    In the other templates the placeholders are working OK.

    OK now I have found the problem. The text and the placeholder with the image are Grouped. That is why I at first couldn't see that is was a placeholder there. While being grouped the placeholder image can't be changed. You need to ungrouped the objects.
    Select the image/text object > go to menu Format > Arrange > Ungroup
    Place your image in the placeholder and group it with the text if you need it. The text can be changed it seems even when the objects are grouped.

  • Can APEX_ITEM be used to generate a Form page?

    Hi,
    I would like to use APEX_ITEM to generate in APEX 4.0 a Form region at runtime, based on some meta tables that describe the columns, labels, datatypes etc..
    It seems that people use APEX_ITEM for generating updatable tabular form and I start to question my original concept. I created a PL/SQL Anonymous block region, that contains the following code segment:
    htp.p(
    APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST (
    3,
    'Y',
    'Yes;Y,No;N',
    'Y',
    'readonly=readonly',
    'P1_MARRIED',
    'Married'
    When I run my form and click my 'Session' link at the botom of the page, the P1_MARRIED item would not show up in the item list of the page. Am I missing something or this 'Generate a Form region at runtime' concept is based on my missunderstanding of APEX_ITEM API?
    Regards, Tamas

    Tamas Szecsy wrote:
    Thanks, that was enlightening!
    So if I understand it well, it means that:
    1.) I have to give my region 'Form like' layout by using htp.p appropriately. Yes. A custom named column report template is another useful approach.
    2.) What concerns the update processing, it means I should handle the region as a 1-record report i.e. using Fxx arrays but always referencing the first member of each Fxx array only: APEX_APPLICATION.G_Fxx (1)Yes, unless there are actually any 1:M elements (home, work, and mobile phone numbers/email addresses for example), where the same type of element is repeated. (This might also help with point 3...)
    Note also that disabled items are not submitted, and only checked checkboxes are submitted
    3.) I am OK, provided that I generate maximum 50 items on a page, since 50 is a hard-coded limit that can not be gotten around. (I will have to work out solution for this, since i have 53 columns in the given table)Dividing the form into several wizard-style pages as used in the APEX Application Builder is probably the best solution to this. It enables you to keep the sub-form pages simple, clean and short, so users don't have to scroll up and down. Save the submitted values from each sub-form page in APEX collections, and display a final report based on the collection(s) for the user to review before saving the information to the database table.
    Alternatively, some of these columns might be common across all the form permutations, and implementable using standard page items.

  • What is the easiest way to get the data from the mailmerge to form Pages files that can be saved separately?

    Using Iwork 09 I have spent several hours setting up a mail merge from a spread sheet in Numbers to create receipts for my customers from a Pages template.
    After the merge I am left with one long Pages document that will not save as separate files; one per customer, it will only save the whole document of several receipts.
    What is the easiest way to get the data from the mailmerge to form Pages files that can be saved separately?

    Mr. Clark,
    You will probably be more pleased with the iWork apps when you begin to learn your way around. Until you learn such basic things as how to print only one page of a document, you will probably continue to be disappointed.
    Does your Print dialog look like this:

    Hi All ,
    I have used the company logo and placed it in the page template which has been used to develop the UI.The images are placed in resources/images folder and accessed the same way too.
    Basic form based authentication has been enabed for the application.
    The image is not displayed on the login page. Just displays a [X] and the shortDesc given to the image.
    Once I login I can see the image for the other pages which use the same template.
    Any idea what might be wrong here ?

  • Cannot use the same page template in panel tabbed

    Hi,
    I have a panel tabbed with region in each tab. And all the jsff uses the same pageTemplate, but the jsff displays only a blank with no error . So I apply refresh condition on the Region thinking it might be the cause, initially the two region loaded successfully but when I switch back to the first tab it throws Exception

  • Customizing Page Template Body

    Hi Apex gurus,
    I have a page inside which I display 3 different reports.
    The three reports have a Display Point set to "Page Template Body (2)".
    Report1 has sequence 10 and is placed in Column 1 of Page Template Body (2).
    Report2 has sequence 20 and is placed in Column 2 of Page Template Body (2).
    Report3 has sequence 30 and is placed in Column 3 of Page Template Body (2).
    All three reports are using a report template such that they are displayed as a Name-Value pair and not as a table with columns as headings.
    The layout is something like this:
    Report 1 Report 2 Report 3
    ============ ============ ============
    Name - Value Name - Value Name - Value
    Name - Value Name - Value Name - Value
    Name - Value Name - Value Name - Value
    The problem I am facing is that the Values in Report 1 are quite large text values, and hence report 1 uses most of the space in the layout. Report 2 and Report 3 utilize the remaining space. I want all three reports to share the page proportionately.
    Is there any place in Apex where I can set the size of Page Template columns?
    Thanks,

  • Panel tab page template application

    Dear All,
    I would like to ask for comments regarding what I have done since I can't find a good resource that
    can point me to the right direction.
    My Use Case:
    I have a jsff page with a panel tab as the outermost component. Inside it are a variable number of showdetailitems.
    My requirement is for me to apply a certain template to all detail item. What I did was embed the page template inside
    each iterator.
    <af:panelTabbed>
          <af:iterator>
              <af:showDetailItem>
                   <af:pageTemplate viewId="/MyTemplate.jspx" value="#{bindings}">
                        <!-- Components go here -->
                   </af:pageTemplate>
              </af:showDetailItem>
          </af:iterator>
    </af:panelTabbed>To my surprise, it did not cause an exception and my components follow the changes that I am doing in the template
    I read from a previous post from Frank that *'not because its not throwing an exception then its okay'.*
    I have used templates to style my pages but they are at the top of my page. In this case, my use case is different.
    Comments are very much welcome.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    dynamic declarative components would do the same trick. Unfortunately those are less well documented. In summary, a dynamic declarative component is a JSFF page that you define Facets for and FecetRefs in (this is where users then add the content (or in your case the showDetail content would be generated in). Below is a simple sample:
    JSFF page
    =======
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>

      <af:xmlContent>
       <component xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich/component">

         <description>
          What goes in right
         </description>
         <facet-name>
          LeftArea
         </facet-name>
        </facet>
        <facet>

  • Need a solution on which page template to opt for my requirement..

    Hi Forum,
    I need a solution how to proceed with this requirement.
    I need a Two pages on my application
    First Page : It need to be displaying approx 7 to 10 cloumns of data from 5 tables based on QUERY1, out which one is the hyper link to the second page ( say JOBNUM as one of the column ). These data are located in a flat database.There are no PK in the tables. Once you click on the JOBNUM it needs to navigate to the second page displaying data based on a QUERY2 which runs with the JOBNUM we clicked and the clumns on the second page needs to be alligned as per my design. Example is shown below.
    DATA1 DATA2 DATA3
    DATA4
    DATA5 DATA6
    I started this by designing a FORM ON REPORT.
    The first page which is report is fine displaying data and I changes one of the columns JOBNUM on the first page to Hyperlink onto 2 page ( FORM ). But now I need some help from the forum how to generate that FORM page based on
    1) on a SQL query which runs on 5 tables
    2) and the JOBNUM selected as this JOBNUM is in those 5 tables
    and How to change the allignment of the cloumns on the form
    Thanks for your time and help in advance.
    Krishna.

    Krishna...
    When you ask about creating page two as a FORM page, are you wanting the ability to update the record(s) that are queried from those five tables? If so, you'll more than likely need to build the page by hand without using one of the wizard options that do all the DML for you. If you are updating information of just one of those tables, you should include the ROWID of the table you wish to update in your query since you said there is no PK on any of those tables. You can easy store the ROWID in a hidden item on the page. If you wish to update more than one table, you should include all of the ROWIDs of each table with different aliases. Then your page processing needs to be savvy to which columns were updated in order to perform update statements against each table individually using the appropriate ROWID.
    If you are not updating and simply want to display the information in a report region and the query on page 2 will be retrieving more than one record based on your JOBNUM parameter, you could look into using a custom region template that you build using a combination of standard HTML tags and special Application Express placeholder tags. An example of this is in the Aria People Search packaged application found at this link, http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/packaged_apps/packaged_apps.html, and look at (hopefully) page 2. There is a report region on one of the main pages that displays a lot of information about a person and uses a custom region template that positions the resulting columns of a query into specific locations in of a table. Not necessarily positioned exactly like how you want it, but the concept is the exact same -- you can use HTML [table] [table] syntax to put the results of your query into specific locations.
    Hopefully I have not completely misunderstood your request.
    Shane.

  • Individual Product - Large - Change page template

    Under module template, my Individual Product - Large module is using my sidebar template. Problem is I do not want it to use that page template.   How do I change which page template the individual module templates use?  Thanks

    You can do this now.
    You have
    {module_visitorcountrycode}
    This will render US, AU NZ, UK etc depending on the country the person is in. You can do CSS styles, show images, set backgrounds, run javascript based on what this is and handle things accordinly.
    With that in terms of the payment form and the checkout (you mentioned cart) if you have a proper domain setup will have their own templates.
    At this time there is nothing outline for products with multiple templates directly. There are things you can do though to get different layouts depending on teh catalog being used etc.

    I need to create a custom dynamic stamp form for my document, with custom check boxes.
    I read that it might be eaiser to make my form a template and overlay the template on my page instead
    of doing the custom dynamic stamp because it would be no coding and easier?
    Can someone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks for your help!

  • My old Pages templates?

    I recently upgraded iWork to iWork 09. My former Pages was version 1.0.2. My new Pages is 4.0.2. I know how to find the templates in my new version, but the templates folder doesn't show my old templates. Where do I find those, and how do I move them to the new templates folder where all the pre-designed Apple templates live?
    I couldn't find this particular bit of info with a search in this forum, and hope someone might be able to explain.
    Thanks in advance.

    Forgive me. I found it almost immediately after I had posted. Mea culpa.
