Form - Responses files

Good day,
I created a form in Adobe Acrobat 9 for an event at our company and people began to send them back. When I add them to my responses files they don’t show up on the list, but if I double click on them, they appear correctly in the form itself. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v679/FI_ColdBlood/responsefilebug.png)
Don't know what would do that?
Thanks for the support.

Sorry, there currently isn't a way to do that. You can only download a PDF showing all of the responses.

  • Fields Missing in Form Response File CSV Export

I've distributed a survey designed in LiveCycle 8.2 which has been completed by a number of users and returned via email.  I then imported those submitted forms in to the repsonse file.  When I export those responses in a CSV (and pull them in to Excel), a number of fields are not included.  After a little digging, it seems that I failed to give those fields a custom name when designing the form.  This seems to be the only consistency, so I have to assume this is the cause.  Firstly, is this case?
Secondly, what is the best way to correct the situation.  I anticipate receiving over 60 more responses, so I do not want to have to enter data by hand.  I've tried renaming the field in the response file -- no effect.  I've tried also updating the form and creating a new response file.  The submitted forms were added (though I did receive a warning that not every field mapped) and those fields which had not previously been named were full of nulls -- I assume they could not be mapped due to the difference in the underlying field name.
Resending the form is really not an option at this point -- I will be getting more forms like this over the next weeks.  What is the best way for me to get all of the responses in to my excel file?  Thanks.

  • Adobe Form; Fields missing in form response file & .csv export

I created a form in Adobe Livecycle 8 and everything was working fine.  Our company upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and now when I receive a form response via email, some of the data elements to not show up in the 'response file', therefore the data elements cannot be exported into excel.  I am using 'compile returned forms' and following the wizard so I don't know what I'm missing.  I am at a loss and am under a time crunch to get this fixed.  Any help would be appreciated!

    SOLVED
No errors when I go on the page for upload.
I solved by restarting the portal.

  • How do I reconnect a distributed form/response file created in 9 to XI so I can get my responses?

I've created quite a few forms in Adobe Pro 9 and have recently been upgraded to Adobe Pro XI.  When I opened my response files I get a message that the response file is no longer connected to the server.  How do I reconnect it so I can pick up the data that has been entered and is waiting for me to download?  BTW, when XI was downloaded, it wrote over the Pro 9 program.  Please tell me there is a way to do this so I don't lose what has already been entered and have to redo it all.

This is the Adobe Reader forum; you are more likely to get a useful response if you ask in the Acrobat forum.

  • Putting Adobe Forms (Response Files) Online

I have created an online application form. Though the location of my form resides on my computer (I also uploaded the form to a website). The response file is located on my home computer.
When people fill out the form and click submit, it only works if my computer is attached to the Internet which has frequent downtime, so I want to place the response file (I think that is what I have to do) on a website I have hosted that is always up 100% of the time.
Though  I can edit the file location of the response file, it does not allow me to put in website information.
    1.  Is all I need to do is place the response file on my Internet Web Site to ensure that it will work 100% of the time and users won't get a message?
    2.  How do I do that?

My question doesn't quite fit under this category - but I cannot seem to submit a new questions.  So here it goes....
I am creating three different forms for an upcoming international conference.  I would like to include a submit button on the form.  I would like this to result in the PDF file being sent to an online storage file (not Acrobat's site) such as Google sites.
When I edit the properties of the button there is a field labeled "Enter a URL for this link" and I am assuming that this is where I could set this up, but I've not been able to figure out how.
Alternatively, what is that field labeled "Enter a URL for this link" for anyhow?

  • Can I create a new form response file if the original is missing

I distributed a form through acrobat.com. And now I cannot find the form_responses file (the form_distributed file is gone for that matter too). I do not want to send out a new form for people to fill out, as it would be too difficult logistically.
Is there some way to create a new response file - perhaps using the original form - that can download the data from Acrobat.com?.
    Thanks,
    Matthew

Creating a new file with the extension Filename_responses will not collect the previously distributed form data. If you have the original _responses file, try copying it back to the actual location. However, the information for the distributed forms are still saved in a file named "adhocWorkflow". The information inside this file  determines the distributed form data and other workflows.

  • Can you import form responses from one responses file to another? I know you can export...

I have a distributed form with a responses file that has six responses in it. Somehow the distribution got cut off and I had to set up a new distributed form and a new responses file. I was able to export the six old responses to a .csv file, but have not found a way to IMPORT the .csv file into the new responses file.
"Add" does not work-- it is looking for PDF files only. Does anyone know a way to import those 6 responses into my new responses file? The distributed form did not change in any way, so all of the fields are still exactly the same.
I can create a master portfolio and just add the two portfolios together, but they just remain as file icons within the portfolio and I need the data to be inline together in one file.
    Thank you very much.

If you still have the .muse file for the template you want you can open it up in Muse 'Select All' --> Copy.
Open your destination blank template and paste it. You can have bothe muse files up in Muse at the same time.

  • I want to update forms in the response file and save it. Sometimes it works, but often I need to save the response file in another name. Very inconsequent! How come?

I have a form that I am sending out and compiling in the response file. These forms I also want to be able to update after receiving them (when I have them in the response file).
But when I do the updates I need to re-save the response file with another name? The strange thing is that sometimes I can just update and save exactly the way I want it. But most of the time I get the message "This file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."
Can someone please help me to figure out how to solve this issue. I know that I am the only one that has the file open. I am encountering the same issue in both Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro X. (File was created in Acrobat Pro 9)

    Good day!
A simple Paste does not work for you?
It should place the clipboard content as a new Layer which you can then move around.
If there is any chance that the elements need to be scaled, rotated etc. I would prefer to place them as Smart Objects (File > Place …) and do the masking that is specific to the images themselves in those.

  • I am unable to save my form responses as a pdf or excel file.

I am unable to save my form responses as a pdf or excel file.  The error message states: Acrobat.com could not save this file. The file might be open in another application and cannot be overwritten.

Did saving ever work or did it fail the first time you tried?
Have you tried to save to multiple locations?  Maybe it has something to do with permissions on the directory you are trying to save to.
Have you tried saving something from another web site to the same location?  Try creating and saving a file in/from https://workspaces.acrobat.com/app.html#o and see if that has the same result.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Cannot create a Response File in Reader X from form created in Acrobat Pro 9

I created a form in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I distributed the form using option "Manually collect responses in my email inbox" and "Save a local copy and manually send it later". When I send that form and get a response, I open it in Adobe Reader X but I do not get the pop-up option to save to a Response File. I do get that option to save to the response file if I open the file with Adobe Reader 9. Has anyone else seen this problem and is there a solution?

I figured a way around this in case anyone has the same problem in the future. I just opened Acrobat Pro X, clicked combine files into PDF, selected the file I wanted, saved the "binder" as PDF then saved another version as Reader Extended PDF. I think this helped because it essentially creaded a whole new PDF with the old PDF in it and getting rid of whater hashes or document properties in the last one that wouldn't allow it to work in Reader. Opens perfectly on other computers.

  • Forms not appearing in Response file when added and no preview

One of my users has a form created with Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2 and has been using it happily for the last 12 months up until about a month ago. The problem is when she receives the responses via email and double clicks on the attached PDF, it says it has been added to the response file and the total responses count goes up by one but you cannot see the response in the list.
She also says that other times the total count goes down when a response is added and again you cannot see the reponse in the list. A further problem is that when you Dbl-click a response in the list, you don't get a preview of the form you just get a blank window. I at first thought this may be a corruption but we did a restore of the file from a month before this started happening and we get the same result with that file.
I tried opening this file on another PC which had Acrobat 9.0 Pro but I get the same result. There are no filters applied and I have played with every view setting I could find to no avail. Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I apologise if my comments sounded too harsh.  I work for a lot of corporations and quasi government departments.  I have to work with "web teams" all the time and they're a very mixed bag.  Some are up with the technology and can actually be creative.  Others consist of people that were just plain unemployable but the company couldn't let them go without incurring union wrath, so they dump them in the "web team".
If Accessibility is what they want, Captivate has very strong features in this area.  Certainly better than any other e-learning tool I've seen.  You turn these on by selecting the Accessibility checkbox under Preferences.
If you don't like my idea of using Rollover Captions for ALT text, you can simply add accessibility text to any image on screen by selecting the image and clicking the Accessibility button.
Then in the dialog that pops up, you just untick the checkbox for automatic text (based on the name of the object) and add in your own like this:
You need to remember that with 508 compliance there are a number of levels.  You need to determine which level your organisation is aiming for and keep it practical or else you will end up with a lot of extra unnecessary expense and time wasting.  Lower levels of accessibility are very achievable.  As you move further up the levels it becomes increasingly impossible to deliver anything that isn't plain text.  In some cases, accessibility taken to the max would require you to build several different versions of your courseware.
If you Web Team expects you to go to the n.th degree in Accessibility, ask them to confirm exactly who's going to pay for it.

  • Error when adding form responses in an existing response file

Following the announcement of the retirement of FormsCentral, I am testing Acrobat XI Pro to distribute PDF forms.
I followed the steps proposed in this tutorial: https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-distribute-existing-pdf-forms
Everything works fine until I try to add the responses in an existing response file. I select the received files in the dialog box an when I clik on "OK" the progress bar appear then Acrobat Pro freezes.
I tried different forms, all exported from FormsCentral and still encouter this bug/issue.
    Any hint?

  • Why won't the responses file open when I receive a submitted form

Hi all,  We have recently started to use Acrobat Pro X for editable pdfs.  When training was done (all work contained was created on our server) the responses file opened as it should when a submitted form was received.  Now trying to use these forms "live" the response file doesn't open.  The wording to double click the file and select the response file is in the body of the email of the submitted form but instead of the response file opening the form opens.  Anyone have any ideas??

It does seem to be happening to all forms received.  We are using Adobe Acrobat X Pro to create the editable pdfs.
When you ask "being used to save the forms?"  do you mean from the person submitting the form back to me?   If that is the case then Acrobat X also.

  • How do I remove the "distributed" and "response" file from my form?

I created a form for my clients to fill out.  I want to be able to post the form on my website so the client can download the form, edit it, save it, print it if they like, and email it to me manually.  I do NOT want the form to have a submit button, nor do I wish to have the responses tracked.
Currently I have a form that is set up like that.  How can I remove the criteria in the form that is responsible for emailing me as well as tracking the response file?  I want to the form to just be void of any link to my email as well as any response file on my end.
Would greatly appreciate if anyone can help...
    Thank you,
    Vincent

For some odd reason, Acrobat Standard does not allow you to edit document-level JavaScripts, so you have to use an alternative approach.
The first thing to do is find the hidden button and make it visible. To do this, select the Select Object tool, which is a black arrow pointing to the upper-left. When the tool is active, you should see the previously hidden button on the first page:
Double-click the button and go to the General tab and set the Form Field dropdown in the Common Properties area to Visible. Then go to the Actions tab and delete the "Run a JavaScript' action for the Mouse Up trigger. Then add a new JavaScript action for the Mouse Up trigger and enter the following two lines of code in the editor:
    getAnnot(0, "adhocFormState").destroy();
    addScript("FormsWorkflowScript", "//");
Then close the dialog, select the Hand tool, and click the button. This will effectively get rid of the document-level JavaScript and the hidden text annotation. You can now delete the button by selecting it with the Select Object tool again, and hit the Delete key, or right-click > Delete
    That should do it.

  • Unable to open Form Repsonse File

    Hello,
I am unable to open a response file to one of my distributed forms.
I have made no changes to my system or the file. I get the following error
"To view the Flash technology content in this pdf file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat"
If I click Proceed to download page, nothing happens.
    Any suggestions??
NB: All other flash content works on this computer, Flash version 11,7,700,179

do not pause the download in the middle of the download.
with some download software, you can pause/stop the download in middle and continue.it will corrupt the software.
else in middle the due to network... it may corrupt.
check/compare the size with the original bytes mentioned in the oracle software download index size matches your downloaded file size.
    try to download it again.
    Good Luck.
