Form values in subsequent layers of VC based UI wizard are not refreshed

Hello experts,
i am just about to develop a wizard based UI for an custom ess application with the VC and now i face a strange phenomenon.
I got two layers each containing a form. Both forms have a dropdown list with the same contents. The logic is, that in the first step, users can select a value from the dropdown list which is then supposed in the second step to be displayed in the second DD box.
This works fine when users run through the form for the first time. But when a user switches from the second step back to the first (by a "back" button) and changes the value in the first dropdown box and goes then back to the second step, the value in the second dd box is not refreshed and remains on the previous selection.
In the form designer, i set the second dropdown to take over the value from the first form, but it did not work. I also tried to store the selected value from the first form in the data store and load the value for the second DD from the data store, also without a result.
I guess this is a bug in VC implementaion, is this possible? We are using EP 7.0, SP12 on a RedHat OS.
Is there a workaround for this? Any help will be rewarded!

Hi Thilo
I have encountered the same problem and the turn around solution which could help you is using layers of tabstrips which will have a "Next/Submit" button which will update the the 2nd tab. The moment you change the values in drop down in the 1st tab and say submit it will be reflected in the 2nd tab.

I missed it. After I did the changes for this, the process for Sale Based Rent is good but I couldn't posting the result.
I saw that EhP4 has introduced a new feature whereby we can post sales based settlemnet using periodic posting feature. For this, a checkbox is introduced in the system which we have to check in the contract and is named as 'Post using periodic posting'. I dont see this indicator in my system even though I am on Ehp5.
Could you please advise?

I cannot rearrange layers in Muse even though they are not locked.

I have seen tutorial videos where people can rearrange the stacking order of the layers in the layers panel. Yet when I try they just won't move. They are not locked, and I have tried the master page and a normal page. Has anyone got any ideas of why others seem to be able to but I cannot.

Forms are not refreshed by OC4J

Hi!
I'm running Forms9i with OC4J locally on my computer.
My problem is that the form I`m working with does not get refreshed by the OC4J when i run it from the forms builder. The previous version if the form is displayed in the browser.
I have a workaround, restarting the OC4J instance displays the newest version of the form.
Is this some kind of caching problem? The form is compiled correctly, and the old versions are overwritten, but still the old version of the form is displayed. I`ve tried to set "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to "Every visit to page" in my browser, but it did not help. I`m running IE 6.0.
Are there some other settings in my browser that could solve this?
Pls advise.

Found out what it was, and yes it had something to do with killing the forms "cleanly".
Instead of calling the 'exit_form' function, I just closed the browser.
When using 'exit_form' it works OK.

Prompt constrain - prompt values are not refreshed after change in calendar

Hello,
I have prompt with Date, OrgUnit and Employee field in OBIEE 10g.
Date - calendar component "date between"
OrgUnit - multi-choice
Employee - multi-choice
I have checked "Constrain" checkbox on Employee field, because I want to show only employees from selected OrgUnit and also I have checked constrain on Date field.
After first selection everything works fine. I select some dates (I have calendar component - date between), some OrgUnit and I can see list of employees constrained by selected OrgUnit and Dates
- physical select is executed to get list of employees to multi-choice component
After that I change date interval, open employees multi-choice component but no physical query is executed and I will get back some cached result from previous request.
It seems that change in calendar component does not force refresh of data in other constrained components.
If I select some other OrgUnit, Employees are refreshed.
I tried to change component for Date from calendar to multi-choice. After some change of dates in multi-choice component. OrgUnit and also Employees are refreshed.
I also tried some different combinations of constrain checkboxes but with no success
So my question is: How can I force refresh (force execution of sql query) data in constrained fields after some change in calendar component?

In my case It doesn´t refresh after change in calendar component. It does refresh after change in multi-select promot, or dropdown component, but doesn't refresh after change in calednar component.
BI server cache is not enabled.
If I open employee multi-choice component for the first time, physical query is executed. I change date to some other, open employee component for second time and no query is executed and I will get old values from previous action...

Convert a catalog form PSE 7 to PSE 13 : Conversion works, but images are not related to the catalog anymore so you have to connect each single picture !!! How can I get the right relation automatically ?

My images are not related to the converted catalog, only preview works, tags and other information is given, but the (network) path to the original images is missing and is substituted by a local path with c:\. How can I solve the problem automatically ?

Oracle Table Values are not displayed when tried to display with Essbase

Hi,
I was trying to create a report with Oracle RDB Table and Essbase by following the steps given in "Federating Essbase and Relational Data Sources in Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition Plus" document at the location http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_bi/bi_ee_1013/fed_data/fed_data.html.
I am able to see the members from the Essbase cubes and I can also see the Oracle Table values, if they are displayed individually (i.e. different reports) but when I try to get one report with Essbase values with Oracle table records then Oracle table records are not displayed and when see the query log I don't see the query for Oracle table but I see obviously MDX queries for the essbase.
Please help.

Smitha, you can defnetly use dynamic table in interactive form. I had similar problem and I acheived like follwing:Basically you have to bind the table .
If you want to have fixed number of rows in the interactive form, then in wddoinit method bind the internal table to ur table node. for exmaple: if u want 2 rows in the form loop times . So by default when you open the form you will get two rows for the table.

DO 2 TIMES.
APPEND LW_LFBK TO LT_LFBK.
CLEAR LW_LFBK.
ENDDO.
CALL METHOD lo_nd_t_lfbk->bind_table
EXPORTING

If you want to have dynmic table then take a submit button in the form instead of normal button,
in onaction submit write a loop every time you click that new submit button it should add a new row.
use above coding in onactionsubmit instead of doinit.

Decimal values are not flowing to Excise Invoice created in J1IIN

Dear Sap Gurus,
Please help me with the problem. After creation of invoice in VF01 when i am creaing outgoing excise invoice decimal values for BED, ECS and SEC. ECess( AT1) are not coming instead values are rounded of to nearest whole number.
for ex.
if invoice values are as below
BED= 16
ECS= 3.2
HSC= 1.6
when excise iinvoice is created values are changes as below
BED= 16
ECS= 3
HSC= 2
please give propeer solution

Check in Logistics - General -> Tax on Goods Movements -> India -> Basic Settings -> Maintain Company Code Settings.
Also ensure that in V/06, for the respective excise condition types, rounding is not activated.

CS6 on Mac: Layers in certain folders are not selectable

The problem occurs when trying to select a layer on my canvas that is not in the folder I am currently working in.
So let's say I have 2 folders named folder 1 and folder 2. When I'm working on some objects in my document that are in folder 1, it all works. Yet when I try to click and select an object on my canvas that is located in folder 2 I won't be able to select it. As if it would be locked. When I go to my layers pannel, and click on 'folder 2', It normally selects all the layers in that folder and I can select everything in there. (Until I click on something that is in 'folder 1, in which case I won't be able to select any object on my canvas again.)
It almost seems like a preference, but I haven't been able to find anything that warrants this as an (annoying) feature.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The problem is not when it's in a different layer, but when I put layers in different folders. They are not selectable at that time anymore if I'm editing an object that is in a different layers folder.
I haven't had this problem before, but now it won't go away no matter how many times I reboot. (Also tried closing all other programs like spotify, but no luck still.)

New created values are not displaying after upload

I have created 2 key figures(Infoobject),4 new nodes and leafs(Hierarchy), to include the new logic at R/3 end as well as BW end.Every thing is fine even after doing full upload(repair).
When i execute the query the data is not populated in its respective infoobjects and hierarchy nodes and leafs.
Even 1 infoobject which is used for Counter value is not showing the counting as it's defined as aggregate to the info object Count and that included to ODS which is responsible for counting. after full upload it's not showing the counter values.
After full upload(Repair) all these entries are not displaying in the report against the data which is present at RSA3 level.
Can any one tell me how to make them available in the query even after data is uploaded / available in the bw.

Hi,
You can´t see hierarchies in an infoprovider, so this is ok. A hierarchie is a part of an infoobject. But you say you have 2 new kefigures and they are not filled. I suppose you added both keyfigures to your DSO/Cube and to the datasource (in your source system). Have you extended the transformations between datasource <-> DSO and DSO <-> Cube too? Are the keyfigures correctly connected (in the transformations)? If yes, check your PSA after loading. Are the keyfigures filled here? If no, check the RSA3 in your source system. Are the fields for you keyfigures filled there?
Pls. check this all and tell us, what the result is.

Making a JSP Form read only based on the form value present in DB

I need suggestions/examples as i am newbie into java stream.
I have two JSP pages 'Add Page' and 'Edit Page' .
Add Page -> In add Page,I have many text boxes,select drop-downs options. In one select drop-down I have values as Locked and open .I can save this page contents in DB by entering those form values.
Edit Page -> In eidtPage,once saved in DB, based on 'select drop-down- Locked and open' If it is locked i have to make all the fields (text boxes and select drop downs) as read only and if it is open i have to make it editable.
I am taking all the values from DB,setting to 'form bean' and then setting up the values in session and forwarding it to JSP page to populate there .I am using beehive net UI tages in JSP. Please help me out.

Not sure I'm following what you want, but this might help:
In your select tag, put something like an 'onchange' event that calls a javascript function. In the javascript function it you add code to enable or disable your other fields based on the item selected from the drop down box.
To determine what item was selected in a select tag, you write something like the following. I'm not sure of the exact syntax. You can look it up in a javascript book:
var optionSelected = document.forms[0].selectTagName.options[document.forms[0].selectTagName.selectedIndex].value;
To enable or disable a textfield, search for this in google:
'jquery disable input'

Form Values in "On Successful Submission of Form" PL/SQL Block

I am having trouble capturing the form values in the "On Successful Submission" PL/SQL block.
p_session is not directly recognized by this block as a global variable.
I created a local p_session variable. It passes NULL values.

DOMAIN and SUBDOMAIN can be any names of your choosing, but they must be consistent between the put and the get. They are not implicit.

The 'A_...' references are actual fields on the form, which are based on columns in my table.
I use the get_value_as_... calls to get the values the end user entered and I pass them to a procedure in a package that I had previously defined.
lcams_db is the schema, otp is the package and otp_utl is the procedure. The p_... names are the actual names of the parameters in the procedure.

Making the form Readonly in subsequent stages in a process

Hi all,
I have a situation where we want to make the form readonly in subsequent stages.Let me put it this way-
In my process the user1 will fill the form and hit on complete button. the user2 opens the form but the form should be readonly to the user2. He should have a action button at the button called Edit and when hits on the action the same form pops up and the fields are enabled and he can make modifications.
Th form goes to User3 and the form should be again readonly with same edit button and the form pops up and he can make modifications...
how can this be achieved?
Please help me with this.

The way I usually tackle state changes for a form across multiple user steps is by having a hidden text field on my form called txtStep. In my process, I then stuff this field with an appropriate value using a SetValue operation. In the form, I have code that is called on the form's initialize event that checks to see what value is in that text field. Depending on what the value is in that field, I change the form appropriately.
For example, just prior to your second user step you could use a SetValue to set the value of this text field to the string "user2". In your form's initialize event (pick any one - such as a page's initialize event), check to see what the value is. If the value is "user2" then you know to lock down the form but have the "Edit" button displayed to the user.

Issues in Processing the Master-Detail Form values

We have a requirement in Oracle Internet Expenses (11.5.10) to fetch the form values from the Expense Allocations Screen.
This page is based on Multiple VOs with Master Detail relationship. The data from the VOs mentioned are displayed in the Hgrid region.
I need to fetch the input values for three fields (from different VOs) and pass them as paramater to the database function to perform the validation.
Here, I am creating the handle for VO objects and using the Row object getting all rows in range (getAllRowsinRange()).
The issue here is always, the Row length() is always fetched as 1 even it has multiple rows.
Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

1.1 Description of the Workflow
We have designed a Workflow, which has an init form HighLevelQuestionnaire.
1. The user attempts to start the workflow by submitting this form, which has an XML schema embedded.
2. When user submits the data, we set workflow variables to fetch data from the init-form and all the values entered by the user are stored in the database.
3. Based on the values, value of Risk Level is calculated to be either High or Medium, and user is routed to one of the two routes.
4. The user QPAC is used to show the next form to the user.
Another form has been designed called AssessRisk in which user is asked to confirm the Risk Level.
5. At this point, we use Script QPAC to print the values in the log.
1.2 Problem description
1. In the Point No. 6 of the workflow, the values are not printed in the log. A blank space is printed instead.
2. Initially, we embedded the schema in the form. But when values were not printed, we removed the schema. Even then it didnt work.

This is the basic feature which has to be used while developing workflows.

You might want to try using VariableLogger, at:

It's a little more reliable than the script QPAC, especially if one of your xpath expressions is wrong.
Please note that embedding the schema makes no difference in how the data from the form is stored. What makes the difference is whether your fields are bound to specify schema elements, or whether they use the "normal" binding.
