Format in different ways different BreakTotals in Interactive Reporting

Hello everybody,
Platform: Hyperion System 9.3.1.
I need help in formating totals in an Interactive Reporting report.
The report shows stock data:
geographic area, country, city, store, article, stock quantity
I have created break totals for geographic area, country, city, store.
I would like to format differently these totals:
for example the total for geografic area in blue, the total for country in green and so on...
and finally the grand total (a format different from the ones of the above break totals)
Any help will be very appreciated.
Thank you!
Daniela

Instead of Break Totals in a Table use either Report Groups (Footers) or embedded Pivot on the report

  • What is the best way to display a Interactive Report having 20 columns

    Hi,
I am having a Interactive Report having many columns (around 20).
What is the best way to display that report...by default we have to scroll it horizontally to see all the columns.
I want to avoid Horizontally Scrolling.
    Thanks,
    Deepak

    Hello Deepak,
You mean apart from using a smaller font size or a bigger monitor?
You can think about combining / wrapping columns (so more data in one column).
Or hide some less important data and show that only on demand.

  • What is best way to link two interactive reports?

    Hi,
    =================
    Basic Set UP
    =================
I've created two interactive reports-- Project report in Project page and Task report in Task page.
Project report in Project page can contain multiple projects.
Task report in Task page can contain multiple tasks.
One project can have multiple tasks.
But one task can have only one project.
    =================
    What I'm trying to achieve
    =================
When I click a Project Name, it should pass Project ID to Task page and display tasks that are pertaining to the project.
When I create a new task, the passed Project ID should be mapped to the task.
    =================
    Challenges
    =================
    1. How can I pass Project ID from Project page to Task page while clicking Project Name in Project page ?
    2. How can I get Project Name in Task page based on the Project ID passed from Project page ?
    3. How can I display tasks pertaining to the Project Name ?
    4. How can I take Project ID passed to Task page and map it to a new task?
    Thanks,
    Guy

    1. How can I pass Project ID from Project page to Task page while clicking Project Name in Project page ?Create hidden item in Task Page, for example :P2_PROJECT_ID. Than link on required column to Task page:
Interactive Report -> Edit Column -> Link.
    2. How can I get Project Name in Task page based on the Project ID passed from Project page ? There is two ways you can create a function that will return project name by id or you can post project name to task page (The second way is unsafe, you can miss some parts of your project name if you will have a ',' symbol)
    3. How can I display tasks pertaining to the Project Name ?In interactive report source add condition to your query, for example:
    and task_table.project_id=:P2_PROJECT_ID

  • Share saved interactive reports

Hi, does anyone found a way of sharing saved interactive reports ? i'm using version 3.1.2.
    Thanks,
    Chantale

So rather than using interactive reports just build a report page with a bunch of named reports listed and based on the report someone clicks on they get the output as it was predefined. You can do it with dynamic SQL or just hide/show different regions based on the selected report name. Not the elegant solution that IRRs offer, but if that's what the users need then that's one way of achieving it.

  • Interactive Report - Save Default Filter not Saving

In Apex 3.2 I have an Interactive report were a Filter I applied won't save to the report.
I applied the Filter and saved it as the default report for all users, but when I leave the page and come back the filter its gone.
The same application on different pages has interactive report with filters applied to the default report and they all work fine, it's just this one report that the filter won't stay.
First time I've every had this issue.
    Any ideas?
The filter is pretty simply, I have a column that has codes of D, E, G,... and I apply the filter for CODE != D.

    Hi,
I've just been trying the "in the last" option and had no problems for any number that I entered. Are you just entering 1 into the box? What error do you get?
I've loaded the page with Debug switched on, and get:
    select
           null as apxws_row_pk,
           "DATE_ID",
           "ATD_DATE",
           "CHECK",
           count(*) over () as apxws_row_cnt
    from (
    select  *  from (
    select
    apex_item.checkbox(1, DATE_ID) "CHECK",
    "DATE_ID",
    "ATD_DATE"
    from "#OWNER#"."ATD_DATES"
    )  r
    where ("ATD_DATE" between systimestamp - (1 * :APXWS_EXPR_1) and systimestamp)
) r where rownum <= to_number(:APXWS_MAX_ROW_CNT):APXWS_EXPR_1 would contain the value 1 as that is what I've entered for the filter. My report's sql statement is just the innermost nested select statement, the rest has been added by the IR functionality and the filter.

  • Need unique Variants in ALV interactive report

    Hello Experts,
I have a ALV interactive report in which a layout variant  created in one layout is been reflecting in all other layouts, which i dont want. I want to create different variants for different layouts in interactive report. How can i achieve this.

    Hi,
Event form names are appended to an internal table and passed to the ALV. And whatever you write inside that form
can be called through the function module.
What you are trying to do is modify the internal table with the form name, which does not exsist. Instead of this append it.
There are lot of example of this ALV list events.
    DATA:     T_EVENT TYPE SLIS_T_EVENT,
         W_EVENT TYPE SLIS_ALV_EVENT.
    CLEAR W_EVENT.
    W_EVENT-FORM = SLIS_EV_AFTER_LINE_OUTPUT.
    W_EVENT-NAME = SLIS_EV_AFTER_LINE_OUTPUT."AFTER_LINE_OUTPUT event
    APPEND W_EVENT TO T_EVENT.

  • Calling an application express interactive report

Hi all. I'm on devsuite 10g. Is there a way to call an interactive report of application express from my form???
    Thanks in advance for collaboration,
    Fabrizio

Hi Francois. First thanks for your answer.
Application Express is an Oracle tool that can be used to develop rapid application.
It is web based; interactive report is a report that permits you to make some operations on report, you can highlight some records that have certain values, you can dowload data on your machine in pdf, xls,csv format.

  • Download Interactive Reports to Spreadsheet - Aggregation rows?

Is there any way to use the Interactive Report download formats (either XLS or CSV) so that the spreadsheet includes the aggregation rows (SUM, AVERAGE) for each control break displayed on the screen.
I am on 3.1.0.00.32 (soon we will be at 4.1).
When we create a customized report using the interactive tools, it only downloads the data, and not the sum rows.

When we create a customized report using the interactive tools, it only downloads the data, and not the sum rows.A workaround would be to use SQL to provide the aggregation rows. The ROLLUP, CUBE and GROUPING SETS (my favourite) group functions are especially build for such a task.

  • Interactive Report with Null Columns

I've got a user who wants to export an interactive report, and he needs certain columns to appear on the export for him to fill the data in later (this is an intermediate step, while we work on getting all the data he needs in to the database). I've created the report query, and there are a handful of null/empty columns (to preserve the correct order for the export). When I try to add this query to APEX in an interactive report, I get a "ORA-00001: unique constraint (APEX_040000.WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_COLUMNS_UK2) violated" error.
Googling around shows me that this happens because of similarly-named columns, and the solution is to provide aliases to all columns. My report has aliases on all columns, but I still cannot create an interactive report. I've tried changing the null columns to empty strings, as well as enclosing the aliases in double-quotes, but nothing works. I can however use my original query to create a standard report, but due to the export requirement, this isn't ideal.
I was able to create the interactive report with one null column, and then edited the report source to add in the others. This had to be done one at a time, since trying to add multiple null columns at the same time gives the same error again. Unfortunately, when I try and run the page, I get an "ORA-20001: get_dbms_sql_cursor error ORA-00918: column ambiguously defined" error.
    My original query:
    select customer.customer_name as customer,
           project.name as project_name,
           trunc(project.estimated_end_dt) as due_date,
           project_status.project_status_desc as status,
           null as revenue,
           project.baseline_effort as baseline_hours,
           null as projected_cost,
           null as est_gain_loss,
           project.actual_hours as actual_hours,
           project.estimated_hours as projected_hours,
           null as projected_cost,
           null as projected_gain_loss,
           null as roi
        from project,
             customer
      where customer.customer_id = project.customer_id
      and project.inactive_ind = 0
      and project.customer_id is not null
      and project.estimated_end_dt >= :DTP_P50_STARTDT
      and project.estimated_end_dt <= :DTP_P50_ENDDT
    order by customer.customer_name,
project.estimated_end_dt;             Can someone tell me a way to create an interactive report with multiple null columns?

    Hi shimmoril,
The problem is likely that you have two columns aliased as "projected_cost" (7th column and 11th column).
    Hope this helps,
    John

  • Is it possible to bypass the interactive report

    Hi -
Is there a way to skip the interactive report and go directly to page 2 of my application if the report only returns one row?
    Thanks,
    Matt

Could you give me an example?I can't give you an example because I haven't actually done this, and we're trying to establish connectivity for my new project (no Apex connectivity yet).
I'm thinking of something like having region item that's populated by a query, probably the count you are lookng for. The region header might have some JavaScript code looking at the count value as a substitution variable or text value you assign and possibly perform a redirect based on that value as set up in the page header.

  • Interactive report without a select... from satement ...

other than using a web service is there any way to create an interactive report with out using a select ...from ....?
I have been told that I am not allowed to use selects other than from a package.
Could a ref cursor be used?

    Hi,
What is reason why your are not allowed select directly from e.g. table?
    This might help

  • Interactive Reports hooks

    Hello!
Is there any way to hook to Interactive Reports to:
    1) do select of an option item in a widget filter (table header) from JavaScript and submit the report request (usefull when comming to an IR page from another page and want to "pre-filter").
    2) have a JavaScript code (function) executed before and after IR execution (say after selecting new filtering and after getting the data).
Haven't seen anything similar to this on the forum nor in the documentation. Any comments appreciated.
    Dusan

    Hello,
Please check the following segment, in the documentation - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/appdev.310/e10499/app_comp.htm#sthref981 .
The f?p syntax can be used with JavaScript.

  • Interactive Report to Classic Report

    Hi
is there any way to change the interactive report in classic report.
i have created the interactive report in form with report
i don't want to delete the report
can i change directly without delete the page?
    please suggest if possible
    thanks
    nisha

Looks like RAQ report is coming from a spam account, so I'd just ignore that as a plausible solution.
If you have a Classic Report, you can click "convert to Interactive Report" under the tasks region to convert it to an Interactive Report.
If you have an IR and want to revert back to Classic, I believe that the only way to do this is to copy the SQL and then create a new report region by hand, and then either delete the IR or set its condition to Never. There is no need to delete the page or anything else aside from the original IR.
    Thanks,

  • Interactive Report - download to PDF, fixed column widths-- why

We are using 4.1.1.00.23, we have just installed the Apache/FOP solution to download our Interactive Reports to PDF.
The issue is that it seems that no matter what we do the column widths become evenly distributed in the downloaded report. When the report only has 5-8 columns this is ok, doesn't look as good as we would like but it is ok. The problem comes when we have many columns, then all of the columns get shrunk down to these little columns that become totally useless.
Also, it appears that no matter what page size I define in the Page Attributes it sizes the columns to fit on an standard page (8.5x11).
The question I guess is: Is there a way to download an Interactive Report to PDF, that looks exactly like the report that is displayed for the Interactive Report?
We have been looking at lots of the documentation and fear we are missing something because it appears that most solutions talk about creating a "Shared Component" Report Query and Report Layout, which when you have a hundred interactive reports seems crazy....why can't we just download what we see on the screen.
If there was a way to put Headers/Footers on HTML download, then we would not need to do this, but I have not found a way to do that either.

From our understanding, it looks like we would have to create another report for each of our existing Interactive Reports, which would be a JasperReport or something.
We know there is something with the XSL-FO templates, is that what iReports can do for us? Really this is a new world for me, so I do fear that I might be asking my question wrong.
Like I said maybe we are missing something. We were able to get the FOP to work, but the problem with that is all of the columns are evenly distributed widths. On some reports, which have many columns, there could be a name column that needs to display 50 characters, but then the next field only has 5 characters. It appears that without creating an additional report or report layout for each report we cannot print the results of the interactive report.
Maybe I am completely missing something in all of this, but I find it hard to believe that we have to create multiple versions of a report just to be able to print it. If we had just wanted to create a static report, then I would have continued using Oracle Reports, like we have for the last 20yrs.
