Formatted Searhc on UDF on Production Order
Hi,
I would like to creat a formatted search that pulls through the due date of the sales order on any production order.
The production order already has the sales order number in the field called OriginNum,I am sure this is possible just don't have a clue how to write a query to bring that through?
Doesnt anyone know any resources where you can learn how to write formatted searches?
Thanks
Hi David,
Try below query:
SELECT T0.[DocDueDate] FROM ORDR T0 WHERE T0.[DocNum] =$[OWOR.OriginNum]
Save the query in query manager.
press altsgiftF2 on the field you want to bring due date. select udf values based on query then select the saved query. click autorefresh and select sales order number.
Thanks,
Neetu

Block the user updating UDF in Production Order
Hi All,
I want to block a particular user updating a UDF in the Production Order. He should not update the UDF only. But ha can update other fields in Production Order. He can add row or delete row or change quantity or change the status. But he should not update the UDF only.
Can anyone help me in how to write a Stored Procedure for this.
Thanks..
MarikannanHello,
By standard the Editing feature of UDF can be customized by User.
Open Production Order, and Press CTRLSHIFTB. On the window apperaring is similar to Form settings. You can unmark the Active Flag, and the fields will be read only.
Please note: stored procedure is not a good way, because it is running after the data has been written into the database.

If it is not possible then suggest other way to get Production Order Generation Time. When First Time Production Order Add
Version : SAP B1 8.8 PL:10
Best Regards,
Srujal PatelHi Srujal,
Its not there in Production Order table, so you can open udf in production order and set FMS in udf.
Use query for FMS
SELECT RIGHT(GETDATE(),8)AS TIMENOW

Production order creation , release and confirmation cycle
Hi All SAP Gurus,
I am trying to set Production order creation , release and confirmation cycle integrated to xMII.
I am sure there must be many among you who worked on this before.
So can you please share your experience.
Thanks in advance
Regards
RiteshHi Ritesh,
I'll give you what I have been using:
- Transferring orders to MII
You can trigger the orders by tcode POIT or an equivalent BAPI (BAPI CLOI_DOWNLOAD_TRIGGER_TRANS) or have the iDOC being sent automatically whenever someone creates a new production order in R/3 (using change pointers). In both cases you will receive an iDOC in XML format from SAP with the production order information on it. After receiving this file a BLS transaction will be required to read the XML file and store it in your local DB.
- Releasing orders from MII
You can release the orders from MII using the BAPI BAPI_PRODORD_RELEASE (it will update the order status in R/3 to REL). After that you might want to update the production order status in MII local DB as well. Usually I have the bapi BAPI_PRODORD_GET_DETAIL in place in order to read the production order details whenver I need.
- Doing confirmations from MII
After the PO was released, you can do confirmations against each operation using the BAPI BAPI_PRODORDCONF_CREATE_TT. You can send up to SAP good quantity, scrap quantity, labor/machine time, etc. It's a pretty intuitive BAPI.
If your system is not ready to do goods movement automatically you will need to use BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE.
This is basically what I use in this kind of project. If you have any questions please let me know.

Linking Production Order UDF to Purchase Order.
Hi,
I have some udf created in Production Order Row level like length, size, height which varies for each production process and I want that these udf's which are filled with some values comes in the Purchase Order when MRP is run based on production order.
How to achive this in SAP Business One. How to link udf's for diffrent tables.
Regards,
KawishHi Suda,
The Udf value for individual items would change as per requirement for making production order.
And the udf would contain formatted search which would have fixed contents and one will choose as per requirment.
For example :
Production Order No 1
Item = Abc
Udf ( Length ) with formated search = 10
Udf (width) with formated search = 20
UDF ( Specification ) with formatted search = Any predifined specification.
Note : Now for Production order No 2 the above details in udf can change as per requirment for production / purchase process.
Now I want once this production order is saved all the udf details showed come in row level of Purchase Order after doing MRP by Production order.
I hope to be clear as per my requirement.
Please suggest any solution for such case.

Printing UDF from BOM on Production Order
I have added some UDF's on my BOM that I'd like to print on the Production Order. How do I get BOM UDF info onto the Production Order?
SalSal,
BOM and Prod Order are 2 different documents and therefore do not share the UDF. You will need to create similar set of UDF on the Production Order Header / rows (as required) and create formatted seach to copy the data from the UDF.
Please give me an example of the data in the UDF and I will walk you through

Your requirement certainly qualifies for creation of a new Production order Print form and custom print program if you are looking at printing at individual order. If you are looking at report, then certainly a custom report.

Production order - post date - cannot change
Hi,
could anybody, especially from SAP, explain me the background and reason, why user cannot change the PostDate field in OWOR table of production order after the order is created?
And seccond related question is, why item gen. entry and exit are with date, which is in production order as PostDate and user cannot change it as well?
Real situation:
User creates production order and sets as postdate April 2008. PM will order the material necessary for this production order and the material will arive to the stock at the end of May. At the end of May is posting period for April blocked already.
So now user has no chance without opening the posting period to finish the production order.
Opening and blocking posting period isnt solution for user. Im asking, because now we are implementing new customer and I know, that there will be the same problem and I would like to solve it before he will start.
Thanks a lot for make it clear for me.
Petr
Edited by: Rui Pereira on Aug 6, 2008 4:03 PMDear Petr Verner,
1st to clarify your question currently It is not possible to change the Order Date ( Posting Date) for the production order ( to set as "Yes" in OWOR).
2nd, For any change you need in the system behavior, you need to go through Note: 1028874, and post the message accordingly.
3rd on UDF ( User Defined Field), I suggested you to attach and UDF for the Production order (UDF as Date format), and you can record the changes ( date when you want the order to be changed).
Note:- UDF will not effect accounting, but only for record and information purpose.
4th As I understand form your example, you say that An Production order A created in April, its Child Items comes in May.
Later you make Issue for Production. Which you say the JE for Issue for production will happen in April ( though the goods have come in May).
And Receipt for Production will happen in May, which is ok.
Please clarify the 4th point.

Creation of Production order in Past dates using RFC
Hi all,
I am using RFC to Create a production order based on the datas available from MES systems. Here the process flow is From MES system datas are passed to interface in file format then from interface will calll the RFC so that the RFC will do the function of Creating the Production order & release in SAP.
Here i face an issue that i have 3 shifts at the end of every shift i have to tranfer the datas from MES to SAP .Which means i have to create 3 Production orders for a day.My issue here is the third shift datas will be availble for me in the next day morning after that only i am able to transfer theses datas to SAP.In this case i want the SAP to create th Production order for third shift in the Previous day time.
Ashift - 7AM t0 3PM
BShift-3PM to 11PM
CShift-11 PM to Next day morning 7 AM
I need SAP to create Production order for Shift C on 11 PM of the Previous day when i transfer it on next day morning 7AM.
Is this possible.
Thanks in Advance,
MBNHi,
I mean the Production Created date as the basic date only.
My requirement is for the C shift i will get the output from the MES on the next day morning. After that i wwill transfer the production datas to SAP throgh Interface at that time i need the basic start date & time of the production order to be the C shift starting time that is previous day night 11.00 PM.
Eg.
C shift date 12.04.2010 night 11PM to 7AM
i transfer the c shift production datas from MES to SAP on 13/04/2010 Morning 7AM.But i want these datas to create basic start date & time of the production order on 12/04/2010 11PM.
What should be done to get these.
Thanks in advance,

How can I get status of a production order from database?
Hi,
I need to write a report to show user details about the production order. Because there are some customized linkages between our sales order and production order, we can't use COOIS directly.
But I met a problem when writing this report. I found that after TECO, all lines on reservation of the production order will be set deletetion flag. So, I need to tell which orders had been TECO-ed. But I don't know from which fileds and which tables I can get the data to tell this. Please help.Hi Robbie,
You can use function module STATUS_READ
You need to pass it the object number - for a PP order header it will be something like OR000001000000
You can also set an indicator to only retrieve active status values.
The FM returns a table of status codes which are in the internal format and look like I0002
Then use table TJ02T for system statuses to determine what these internal codes mean. If you have user statuses you should be able to work out where they are stored by looking at the technical information behind the configuration transactions.

How to add the long text in Production order through FM
Hi,
Iam having custom program which has BAPI (BAPI_PRODORD_CREATE) inside it and this program is used to create Production orders with the details of Sales order Number,Line item,Plant,Order type,Quantity and Start date. This program is scheduled in Background.
Now client wants to add the Long text (seperate TAB in production order and they want to update the VC details of Sales order in the Long text area).
One option is after creation of Production order, through BDC(calling CO02 and update the long text) we can update the long text and client doesn't want this option.
Another option is after creation of Production order, using Function module SAVE_TEXT, Update the Long text in Production Order and this is not working in Production order (already my ABAP consultant checked it ).
If any one of you came across this requirement, pl share with me how you addressed it.
Regards
A.SureshbabuHi,
The method is quite simple, i presume you're quite well versed with doing recording, so the key thing to keep in mind is how to prepare the input file.
At my end i had about 5 lines of data which needed to be uploaded, hence i had a tab-delimited file with the order nos. in the first column & the five lines of text in five different columns (Refer format below)
Order No.
Line - 1
Line - 2
Line - 3
Line - 4
Line - 5
12345
txt - 1
txt - 2
txt - 3
txt - 4
txt - 5
67890
txt - a
txt - b
txt - c
txt - d
txt - e
Now provide this input file for your lsmw or bdc program & it will work. You can work with your abaper if you're not so comfortable with LSMW or BDC programming he / she should be able to easily make it work for you.

Reserve batch number at creating of production order
Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to reserve batch numbers when creating a production order. And when the production order is released and create the receipt, the receipt to use that batch number reserved at the moment of the creation of the PO.
How could I do this using the SDK?
Best regards,
IrinaHi,
Thank you for your answer.
But, if I "reserve" the batches in a UDF in the production order, it might be that by the time the receipt from production is added those batch numbers to be used already.
Any other ideas?
Thank you,

Purchase Order from Production order
Hi,
This purchase order is created directly from production order.( My problem is the material number is no where shown on PO. but when I print it (print preview) i can see the material number along with the Production order number. I am writing a new report and need material no.
Interesting thing is, even when the Material no is missing. I can see the short txt for material as 'Galvanise'.
Pls help me in finding the material number.(item wise)
Thanks & Regards
HrishiHello
To optimize the workflows, you can change certain functions of the standard material master by using customer exits.
You can tailor the display of the material number to your requirements by using the SAP enhancement MGA00003. If, for example, a material has the number 123, you can use this enhancement to determine that the material number is to be displayed with a prefix such as MAT-. (The number 123 is still saved in the database.)
Control for the material number assignment
MGA00002

Standard or Suggestions for Engineer-to-Order Production Order Paperwork?
Hello all,
I am a business user in charge of production scheduling for a engineer-to-order / make-to-order manufacturer. We print paper production orders and use these to drive manufacturing in the factory.
Can anyone point me to information about best practices or suggestions for the production order paperwork? Like, what information should be on it, and what the format should look like, etc?
Right now we just have the operations, the produced material number, the confirmation numbers, and the production order header dates.
Thanks for any advice!
TimothyHi Timothy,
Printing of shop floor papers varies from client to client. It depends mainly on ground user requirement on what information he want to see. Users now are refering to standard tcode COOIS to check all the related informations.
Some fields which are most required to users are as given below. Format should be operation wise information if each operation is performed individually by different users.
Order Number
Sales Order Number
WBS Element
Material Number and its description
Order Quantity
Order Start date and Finish date
Operation Number
Operation Quantity
Operation Text
Tools details if any PRT is linked
Confirmation Number
Reservation Number/Item number if materials are linked to the operation
Thanks & Regards,
Ramagiri
