Forms 11gR2 - paste from clipboard into image item

Hi, how can I paste image from clipboard straight into an Image item on Form?
If it can't be done via standard Forms functionality, is there any workaround - I mean can Java Bean do it, or maybe drag and drop via Beans Area?
I know it's quite odd functionality, but any hint is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Jack

Hello,
<p>I think that it is not possible. The only ways to populate an Image Item is to use the Read_Image_File() or to query from the database.
You can use a Java Bean that allows to drag and drop an image file.</p>

Scripting or coding doesn't work with extending the Silverlight webpart. The source code of the Silverlight webpart isn't available by Microsoft. So you can't modify the code of the Silverlight webpart.
Also it's not supported by Microsoft to modify the Silverlight webpart and it maybe causes trouble with upcoming updates on the webpart as well.

  • Object is distorted when pasted from clipboard into Acrobat

I am running Acrobat X Pro. I can copy an image from my application and paste it Word without problem. However, if I paste it into Acrobat via Edit/Paste or using the Comment/Stamp tool to paste from the clipboard, the aspect ratio of the image is distorted. If I copy the image to Word, then copy it from Word and paste into Acrobat, it is not distorted. Is there any known problem with pasting metafiles from the clipboard into Acrobat? Any clues for diagnosing what might be the problem?

A better approach might be to use Acrobat X Pro's Edit Object Tool to insert the image.

  • Urxvt pasting from clipboard.. efficient, fast, clean

All urxvt users know this problem: you cannot paste from X clipboard into urxvt.
There are various workarounds.  Many of them rely on synchronizing primary selection with clipboard (which I do not like.  I don't want to "lose" a buffer).  this can be in the form of autocutsel, or keybinds to do something like "xsel -bo | xsel -p", which has the additional disadvantage it requires an extra keyboard shortcut (one to sync the primary selection, one to do the actual paste).
I was wondering what would be a simple and clean way to paste the clipboard into urxvt (by using a -but only one- keyboard shortcut), without touching the primary selection.
I came up with putting this in my .xbindkeysrc
    "xdotool type "$(xsel -bo)""
    alt+Insert
But it's not perfect.  I also tried with --clearmodifiers.  If you try this out, you'll notice sometimes the paste will work, sometimes it will work half.  Sometimes it replaces existing text, sometimes it will do nothing, and the best part is sometimes if you do backspace or stuff like that it behaves differently, I actually messed up my keyboard events with this.
Anyone an idea for the "perfect" way to go?

    URxvt.keysym.Mod4-v: perl:clipboard:paste
should have a good work for copy/paste via Win+C/V
Edit: changed the method piping to xsel, avoid escape sequence problem.
    wow! nice. thank you.
i didn't update this thread for a while, but i noticed that the earlier xdotool based solutions (including mine and Procyon's) sometimes just don't work, and I don't know why i will try this approach for a while
btw is there no recommed userspace location for urxvt scripts? otherwise, package your script please

  • Cannot copy and paste from Word into Mail

I cannot copy and paste from Word into Mail. Neither from using the keyboard shortcuts, or using the Menu function. I can copy and paste from other applications into Mail- but for some reason, text copied from a Word document (both in .txt and .doc formats) will not paste into an open email. Anyone else have this issue? It's a new issue. I used to be able to do this easily.

I had similar issues starting about the same time or within the past week. However, I can copy and paste, it just takes considerably longer than it used to before. Copying something from a web page into Word could take up to 30 seconds now on my computer but it shows a busy mouse pointer while it is loading, then clicks/pops when it loads into the Word document, but then actually takes about another 5 to 10 seconds to appear in the Word document. I have no idea why it is delaying now when it did not do it before, but since it is still going into the document I am living with it for now. Are you waiting long enough to see if it appears?

  • Is it possible to preserve the layer name when I copy and paste from Illustrator into Photoshop?

Is it possible to preserve the layer name when I copy and paste from Illustrator into Photoshop?
At the moment it just appears as "Vector Smart Object" in Photoshop and I have to take another step and change the layer name.
    Thank you!

Not that I know. PS doesn't care for these kinds of things and uses its own naming system.

  • Cannot paste from clipboard. Cannot read the available clipboard formats.

I cannot open a new or old pagemaker 6.5 document.  The message comes up 'cannot paste from clipboard.  Cannot read the available clipboard formats.
It will not let you do anything and I have to close by Alt. Ctrl. Delete.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Linda

Let me confirm what you're saying.
PM (windows?) loads up OK, but when you try to open an existing or create new publication, you get the error "'cannot paste from clipboard.  Cannot read the available clipboard formats"?
!. PM6.5 can only be operated on a contemporary OS, like Win98SE or Win2K.  Generally speaking, with later versions on Windows, it's a non-starter.  If this is the case, and it's essential you open your PM files, download and install the trial version of PM7.
    2. You probably have some corruption somewhere.  You can try trashing all the configuration files (search using the string  PM65*.cnf ) and re-loading PM65
    3. If suggestion 2 fails, you need to remove and re-install PM65, but even this may not work.  See 7.6 - Re-installing PageMaker of this linked PDF which was taken from the old AdobeForums FAQs.  (Note the date of this FAQs and begin to realise how ancient PM65 is.)
    4. Forget all the above, and move to InDesign.

  • How do I load a picture from the clipboard (either Windows clipboard or Labview clipboard) into image data that can then be processed in Labview?

I want to load a picture from the Windows clipboard (and if not possible, then from the Labview clipboard) into actual numerical image data so that it can be processed in lab view. When I'm at the main screen where I can add controls, I see a section of controls called "Vision" in the tool bar where all the different controls can can be added from. When I go to the control called "Image" and put that on my form, and then look at the flowchart/blockdiagram programing window to see what inputs and outputs it has, I only see one output, and no inputs. And when I right click on it, I see NO way to load an image into the Image control. PLEASE help me.
Message Edited by Ben321 on 11-09-2008 04:32 PM

    Hi Ben,
National Instruments has an image processing software called Vision and although I am not completely sure, I think the controls that you found in the control pallet are used in conjunction with the software. Depending on what kind of image processing you want to conduct in LabVIEW, you might want to consider purchasing that product.
If cost is an issue, there are functions in LabVIEW which allows you to take in image files and process them. However, please keep in mind that the capabilities are limited.
Images should be loaded onto LabVIEW not via the clipboard but through loading it from folders or directories. (There might be a way to and so if you find a way please let me know! I would like to know myself =D) If you open the function pallet by right clicking on the block diagram, in the programming folder you should find a directory called "Graphic and Sound". There, you'll find functions in which allows you to process images.
In the "Graphic Type" directory there should be a function called Read JPEG file.vi. There are also others which allows you to read png and bmp files. Please note that there are functions which write as well. Set a file path on the block diagram and inside the "Grahic and Sound" there is a "Picture Function" directory and inside there, there should be a function called "Draw Flattened Pixmap.vi" That changes the image into a format where you can process on LabVIEW. Inside the "Picture Function" directory there are several functions which allows you to process the specified image. Play around with it and see how it goes. And don't forget to Write the file in the end to save any changes.
    I hope this helps

i used image item type with block database based

I know, that the false forms-version (patch) gives you this errors. Try a newer patchset. For example patch 13-15 (for 9i), or 17 (10g rel. 1)

  • How to load a image from database to image item in oracle 10 g form

I have stored some images in the Database Table with BLOB datatype. Now I need to load that image in the non database image item. Please advise. Thanks.

You need to have a print server installed to generate the pdf. Either use BI Publisher and it's desktop development tool or use FOP/Cocoon.. Adding an image with them is a little more involved..

  • Pasting from Word into PDF changes graphic size?

I send PDF newsletters to customers who like to be able to add their own logo or a sentence at the bottom.
In the past (Acrobat 8 and earlier), I would save the PDF as User Enabled. The customer could then copy a graphic or text from a Word document and paste it into the PDF.
Now, in Acrobat 9, with Enable for Commenting or Extend Features, the customer can still paste graphics or text, but it makes the pasted item enormous! For example, the word "Hello" is typed in MS Word at 12 pt Times Roman, and copied. When it is pasted in the PDF it becomes about 48 pt and distorted in proportion. Likewise a 7-inch banner graphic in Word becomes huge and overflows the page when pasted into a PDF.
This didn't used to happen. Any suggestions for a fix? Is there a Preference I need to set? A different way I should Enable for Commenting?
    Thanks!
    Elise

There does not seems to be any preference that can be set. Clipboard text or images are placed as stamps.
One option for people who just need to paste text would be for them to insert a text comment field and paste their formatted text from Word there. (The reason to paste from Word is because the formatting will be maintained.)
Your customers may want to consider making their own custom stamp for their logo and/or any standard text that they want to appear on your newsletter. If they had their logo and text set up in Word, they could create a pdf using Acrobat.com or another free service. In Reader, they could use that pdf to define a custom stamp. A custom stamp would eliminate cutting and pasting and could be resized easily. The stamps could only be used in pdf documents that have commenting enabled, but they would not have to create a custom stamp for each newsletter – previously made stamps would be available to use in future newsletters.

  • Bug:  Copy / Paste from Clipboard.  Issue on HTML build.

Bug: Copy Pasted from the clipboard.  On export to HTML, some of the graphic references got confused.  Replaced 4 image with the 3rd and 4th no where to be found.

While there isn't a unique number displayed with each pasted item in the Assets panel, Muse does append a number to the image file name on export to maintain unique names on the exported site.
As noted in my reply to your other thread, please export from scratch to an empty folder and verify the behavior. Thanks.

  • Paste from clipboard?

    Hello Christoph,
Fortunately, no. I have seen them do some very stupid things before, but this is what we have found to be the fastest way to create composites and create new scaled images for printers dpi regulations. I have seen many scripts that will scale and rotate the original placed link. Those scripts may work fine but they don't crop the images to the bleed size as copying from ID and pasting into PS would. This is important because sometimes we are dealing with 1 gig files, then scaling them up creates what is basically an unusable file. Is this something that could logically be scripted? Have you seen one like this?
What we manually do now, which is what I would like to script is:     Select image(s) in ID, copy, in Photoshop make a new document, 300 dpi, CMYK, no color management. Then we would paste the clipboard data into this new Photoshop document as a smart object, with the top left corner 0 px, 0 px. Then we save it out using the original links name with an _xxx (xxx is the percent the link was placed in ID) added to the end of the name. We save them as flat tifs with LZW compression to a designated "Scaled Links" folder. Then, we place it in ID at 100%, at bleed.
As you can see, this is a relatively simple task, but can be time consuming if you need to do it 50 times my 3:30 this afternoon! If you have any tips or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Danny

  • Why can't I copy and paste from word into websites?

    Hi,
I have been accepted as a writer for 3 online publishers, but cannot copy and paste examples of my work from Word into their websites. The clipboard behaviour seems erratic - sometimes I can copy text from websites and paste into Word, sometimes not.
Can somebody help? It is vital that I am able to supply examples of my written work without having to physically re-type everything or send the examples as attachments.
