SSO from Portal to a ITS (standalone) to the R/3 backend

Dear all,
I have the following situation:
1. I have successfully installed SSO between Portal and the Backend system. That works fine.
PORTAL -> D98 (R/3 System with 4.7)
2. The backend system has no ITS because it's SAP R/3 4.7 without ITS.
PORTAL -> ITS (Standalone) -> D98 (R/3 4.7)
Question:
I have to create now a connection from the SAP Portal to the ITS and so on in the backend system with SSO.
Which settings are necessary to create SSO over a ITS system like this:
PORTAL -> ITS (Standalone) -> D98 (R/3 4.7)
Who could help me?

SSO from portal to Java based web application not happening

Hi,
We are trying to configure SSO from SAP Enterprise portal with Java based
web application(Solaris on SPARC 64 bit).
Then we downloaded library files for "Solaris on SPARC 64 bit" from
service market place from the path "Support Packages and Patches"
Additional Components" SAPSSOEXT".
We are successful in sending the portal side cookie to the application.
But while loading the library files we get the following error

Also do we require to take"SAPSECULIB" from Support Packages and Patches" ...>Additional Components" ...>SAPSECULIB" ...>SAPSECULIB 5.4 for this SSO activity.
Please get back on this ASAP as we are nearing the golive date.

SSO from Portal EP 6 SP14 to SAP R/3 PRD System.

I have installed Poryal EP 6 SP14 with SID name as PRD.
We have SAP R/3 also with the SID name as PRD.
After the installation of the Portal we were testing SSO with SAP R/3 PRD after I imported certificate to sap R/3 PRD using STRUSTSSO2.
SSO is not working.
When I validate the certificate in sap R/3 PRD using SSO2 it gives following error.
Three red dots followed by following text.
This is the Certificate of the issuing system for logon ticket. But not the corresponding system.
I tried all option and it did not work.
I also installed SAP Crypto libraries. Is there any thing I need to do special when I install SAP Crypto libraries.
We have the same setup working in DEV, UTS & QAS environments. I am puzzled.
I was also suspecting the name of the Portal matching with SAP R/3 name. But the clients are different any way.
Portal PRD client is 000.
SAP R/3 PRD client is 600.
My understanding is that combination should be unique.
Please help me. This is impacting our project.

please verify the PSE using transaction PSEMAINT in R/3.
Then come back with the results. Also have a look to this:

You can access logiles from http://host:port/nwa and choose System Management ® Monitoring ® Logs and Traces.
You can select default trace in dropdown and search for relvant log message.
You should have administrator role to access NWA.

SSO from CRM 2007 to ITS of R/3 4.7.

Hi Experts,
We are using CRM 2007 interaction center.
We have provided some links to R/3 transaction using transaction launcher.
Now we need to implement SSO to the R/3 system.
We are using Standalone ITS 6.20 system to connect to R/3 from Interaction Center.
Please help us with configuration steps for SSO.
Is there any way to achieve this without using PAS?
Systems:CRM 2007.
ITS :ITS 620
R/3 :4.7 EE

I am using R3 4.7 EE (i am using SAP IDES) and It's Server is 6.20.
so this version does not have Internal ITS ?
Are u suggesting me to go for Standalone ITS then ? Pls give me elaborate reply.

Kappy is correct. Apple later in 2006 changed the processors to Core2Duo and that has a 2 in the middle of the name. It also then changed the Machine ID to MacBook 2,1.

SSO EP 6.0 and ITS

Hello,
I try to establish a single sign on connection from our portal to an its instance.
The portal version is 6.0 SP2 PL31
The ITS is 6.20 PL 17
My problem is that when I call a certain transaction via the ITS URL I always get the logon screen...
When I call a transaction by using the sap transaction starter I am immediately connected without login, but the transaction starter is using the sap gui...
I set the parameter ~mysapcomusesso2cookie 1 in the global.srvc; when I trace my html stream I can see that the SAP Logon Ticket arrives at the ITS, but I always get the logon screen.
I searched the forums for similar problems, but could not find a solution...

For what it's worth, I was about to post the very same problem! The problem also occurs with ITS PL16. We had this functionality working last year with EP6 SP2 P4 HF6 and ITS 620 PL7 - obviously something has changed in the patches from then until now.
I have found that using an IAC iView works OK, but trying to use a URL-based iView does not (both portal and ITS server are in the same DNS domain, all the usual stuff). We have to use a URL-based iView because our IAC will not run in an iFRAME as the portal launcher insists on doing.

We are implementing ESS/MSS, my query is under ESS applications, date format is showing mm/dd/yyyy, then iam trying to change user language is English (United Kingdom), from portal end, then its showing dd/mm/yyyy.

thank you for your answer. I'am trying to create the service and template for the transaction LP00, but the structure of transaction is strange. It is an ABAP report without dynpro; after the transaction execution, it calls a PERFORM in another program that calls a FUNCTION with the dynamic name (see below):
CONCATENATE lv_progr+4(4) '_TEMPLATE_CALL' INTO lv_func.
CALL FUNCTION lv_func
When I try to create the template in the FUNCTION GROUP, using the dynpro I get from R/3 in the "System: Status", the ITS returns "Interpreter Failed" error.
Do you know how can I create the ITS structure in order to use LP00 with a template custom layout?

Problem when printing Excel sheets when downloaded from Portal

Hey,
I am using the desformat=spreadsheet option to generate Excel files for my reports downloaded from Portal and this works fine. The trouble is that when users go to print the downloaded Excel reports it seems that the scale of the report changes and everything is made smaller to try and fit on the one page. The font size decreases, and the scale of the report decreases to the point where the report is nearly unreadable when printed. But when just viewing the reports in Excel everything looks fine.
Any suggestions on why this is happening and how it can be fixed?

If you cannot see any content on pages you printed or in print preview, the cause might be margins which are set too high.
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.
#Once this is done, switch to the ''Margins & Header/Footer'' tab.
#Check what's set there under ''Margins''.
The following are the default values for ''Margins'':
'''Right''': 12.7
'''Top''': 12.7
'''Left''': 12.7
'''Bottom''': 12.7
Check these values accordingly and change them if necessary.

We'd like to get a good-looking report containing this data for inclusion in electronic documents and hard copy files and PDF seems a good way to go. Right now, my idea is to create the report from SQL query in Report Builder creading a .rdf file and somehow launch this from the Portal allowing users to pass selection parameters.
Questions:
1. What's best way to launch a .rdf report (PDF output) from Portal?
2. What are the tricks of pulling in and displaying blob data (from Portal30 schema) in a .rdf report with PDF output?

Take a look at the Portal - Reports integration documentation. It will tell you how to deploy Oracle Reports on the Portal.
As far as displaying images, Report Builder Online Help -> search on word image ->selecting image from the database.

Calling RFC placed in PI from Portal

We have a scenario where we have RFCs in ECC and it has to be called from Portal through PI.
Please suggest the possible and easiest ways.
Please note these RFC are already being called from Portal to ECC directly. So we need to change it be called from PI.

Use PI Http Url to push the data to PI and from there you can call RFC.

SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 Usage Scenarios: When NOT to use SAP PI
User Interface Integration scenario: This is a common scenario faced by the development team u2013 the Webdynpro application is developed on the SAP J2EE application server integrated with the portal. The business data has to be fetched from the SAP ECC backend.
The User Interface would demand a quick response from the backend for fetching data and conducting the transaction. This is a synchronous scenario, and it would also be conducted with high usage every day. Hence, it is recommended to have a direct integration between the source application (WebDynpro application) and the target application (SAP ECC6) without using SAP PI. It is also recommended to expose the backend functionality as standard services.
For example, integration between SAP Portals (containing SAP BPM, SAP CAF, SAP WebDynpro) and SAP Suite (SAP ECC, SAP CRM, SAP SCM, SAP SRM etc.) should be conducted without the usage of SAP PI; the services should be exposed from the SAP suite as standards-compliant enterprise services.

In conclusion, SAP PI usage is usually not recommended for User facing applications where the backend application is available as a standard web service. SAP PI is almost always suitable for integration between backend applications not requiring human intervention.

Where to find Portal WebService from Portal Service

Hello,
I've managed to create a portal service. i would now like to use it as a web service.
I've found document describing the process, however when try to create a portal object I'm proposed with the choice for portal service, Portal Componant and KM Componant , but not the needed "Web Service from portal Service" .
Does anyone know what you have to get/add/activate to have this option ?
i'm on NWDS version 7.0.14

Hi Guillame,
To expose your Portal Service as a Web Service, follow the steps :
1). Select the project containing the Portal Service you wish to expose as a web service.Generate Portal Web Service with PDK Wizard by choosing Portal Web Service From Portal Service.
2). Select the interface by clicking the browse button.You can only expose the interface that are defined in your Portal Service Project.
3). Select the method you want to expose to the web service.WSDL files will be generated.
4). The portalapp.xml will be automatically updated with the WSDL entries.
5). Deploy the Portal Service on Portal.
6). View the Web Service on Portal in the following path :
System Administration --> Support --> Portal Runtime --> SOAP Admin --> Web Services
7). The generated WSDL can be viewed with the URL :
http://<server>/irj/servlet/prt/soap/com.sap.portal.prt.soap.<servicename>.

SSO to Web Application from Portal

    I am working on a scenario where I need to access a Web Application from the Portal.
    I read about the Application Integrator that is provided by the Portal .
    I wanted to know that can I only have SSO to those Web Application that accept the userid and password and as URL parameters using Application Integrator , ie: those applications that have post method cannot be integrated.

    Please give me more details , we have a Lotes Notes Web application hosted on Domino server , another is J2EE based application. I need to achieve SSO to each of these applications from the SAP Portal.
   I followed the below listed steps:
   Created two systems one for each Web application based on the template generated from the application integrator. I entered the user mapping values for both the systems.
   I also created two IViews. When I preview , the logon page of the web application opens but the user credentials are not passed to the application.
   Please help me with the steps to achieve the SSO , from the reply I interpret that Logon ticket method was used to achieve the SSO and user mapping.
