Forms 9i Java applet documentation

Hi,
coul some one please point me to the documentation of the Forms 9i applet (public methods etc.). I have to communicate with the Forms applet from an other applet and can not seem to find any information on this.

Yes:
Create a PJC that listens on a particular Socket.
Create an applet to run in the same browser that does expose a public method, which takes the value passed into the public method and throws it down the socket to the PJC which dispatches the value back into Forms.
It is possible :-)

Forms Client Java Applet waiting several minutes

Hello,
We use Forms 10.1.2.0 and html/javascript/plsql applications.
All forms applications are working but
we have the problem that from time to time the client java applet must wait minutes until there is an answer from the forms-servlet (especially when there is high activity in the system).
More than one user is working in the form with high activity - the applet sends a request
over the network - after 4 minutes the result is shown and you can go on working
without problems.
So a lot of users think the application has crashed and terminate before.
The applet shows no error messages.
There is no sign that there is a lost connection between applet and servlet.
It is not reproducible. That means you can work 2 hours and everything is ok
or you work 5 minutes and you have to wait.
network problems?
firewall problems?
do requests of the forms servlet to the database have minor priority on the application server
than html/plsql requests?
any ideas?

when the problem occurs (user has to wait 3-4 minutes) we found in the log
3 heartbeats from the forms client within 2 seconds ?
after 3-4 minutes the forms client is ok (user can go on working)
and the pings are every 2 minutes (like it is expected).
The application.log file may contain duplicate posts requests with
identical pragma header numbers, indicating that the client
is resending
requests due to network packet losses. Under normal circumstances,
only the last Post request, terminating a Forms session,
should contain
a duplicate pragma header number.
...a network problem ?

Forms 10G - Java applet and Client Certificate

Hello,
I recently developed a servlet to read a client certificate on the application server.
I set the apache server to request a client certificate on launching.
Everything works fine.
Now, my customer wants to stop the application when the client certificate is removed (The client certificate is stored on a USB key).
After some tests, I realized that the client certificate is stored inside the java Apllet cache;
In other words, the Certificate is removed from the browser store (as expected) but not from the Applet store.
So my question is, Is it possible to configure Java applet not to keep certificate in cache ?
Or is it a way to force Applet to synchronize with the certificate store of the browser ?

Thank you very much for your link...i saw there that you had the same problem. My question now is if Frank ( i know him from the Forms Forum :)) did tell you about working with the embedded server starting it as an external OC4J instance.
If he did please tell me also. i am interested in that because i havent heard of any patch on JDeveloper 10g on this matter.

Let me explain my question
when i run my form from application server. it opens a web browser and display my form into it (form display in java applet embbeded in internet explorer). But what i want is that the web browser open the form in java applet as a separate window.
Is it clear now ?

Fonts are not reflecting while running Java Applet Through Forms

Hello Oralce Gurus!!
I have a Java Applet which has few lines of text in different
fonts such as AgencyFB, Verdana Ref etc., When I am running this
applet from console, I am able to see the text in different
fonts. Where as If I run the applet through forms (as a Bean
(ViewerBean) ), the fonts are not reflected. The text appears in
a default font.
All the fonts are installed on WinNT, where the applet resides.
I will be greatful if anyone can suggest me a solution.

I'd like to embed Java applet in Oracle Form. Please someone help me..let me know how to do it. Also I need to know how'll I use a jar within Oracle. Please help.

Thanks...I developed an applet which has a button on it and clicking the button something will happen. I mean this is a complete java project. Now I need to use this java applet from Oracle Form...that means I'll develop an oracle form on which the applet will be embedded so that the button on the applet can be pressed. Now could you please help me do this? I also have another problem but I need to resolve this first.

Html form - java applet

Hi friends
I have an html form with an editable textfield on it. Next to it is an Java Applet with an Button on it. If you klick the button, a Popup aperars where the textfield can be modified. There is also an OK Button on this Popup. If you klick the Button, I want that the value of my string will be plased into the html form.
If anyone knows how that works. Please help me.

So if one was to design a menu using java, the external Java Script can access the public variables within the applets?
So if we had
public class applet extends Applet {
   public int test;
   public applet() {
      test = 6;
}then the javascript command
document.applet.test
would return a 6?

Load: class oracle.forms.engine.Main not found Stuck at loading Java Applet

Hi there
I have recently installed App Server 10.1.2.0 on a new machine.
Copied all my forms to an appropriate directory. Set up formsweb.cfg to allow them to run and have attempted to run them.
Unfortunately I get stuck at the Loading Java Applet screen, and in the status bar at the bottom it says :
load: class oracle.forms.engine.Main not found
I have taken a look at the Java Console, and the 2 things that jump out at me are that it appears to be looking for a forms90 directory, which seems odd since I am using App Server 10.1.2.0.2 and Forms Builder 10.1.2.0.2 meaning it should be looking in a forms directory not forms90 directory shouldnt it ?
And also, it mentions class with no proxy, so on looking around the forums it has been suggested that put the proxy details into jinitiator, which I have done, but this has made no difference either.
Can anyone suggest anything else please ?

Forms for Web: To Java Applet or Not To Java Applet?

As I understand it, the only way to get a forms application onto the Web is to utilize the forms server and the Java Applet UI client. I was wondering if people had any issues with the fact that the only deployment method is a Java Applet? Have any of you avoided forms because of this? Are there any options for getting forms into HTML?

Where's the Oracle Forms Java API documentation for 11g?

Hi,
Can anyone point me in the direction of the Oracle Forms Java API documentation?
The only thing I can find is this: http://www.oratransplant.nl/1012jdapiDoc/oracle/forms/jdapi/JdapiModule.html but this seems to be for 10.1.2 and it doesn’t correspond to the version I’m using (11.1.1.3).

Using a java applet as form

I'm new to programming applets (but not new to java and gui programming).
Here's my question:
I would like to use a java applet with a textfield as form input. is this possible?
I see some several advantages over using standard html textfields and java script. (f.e.: I can set the cursor to any position after changing the text in the field).
I'm thinking on a solution by my own. Would it be possible to use a java script method to access a property from the applet? so I could use a combination of java applet, html and java script. On the onClick() event I read the actual value from the applet and do some normal post request. Any better suggestions?

Write an applet with an textfield and and getValue() method? So I could create a normal html button and use javascript to write a method wich acces this getmethod. So I could register this method to the onClick() event.

How can i set properties of Java Applet(Forms) like X,Y,Center,Top,Bottom etc.

Some properties are exposed though the various Forms parameters in the formsweb.cfg file - width and height for instance.
For anything else you'd have to write a Pluggable Java Component(PJC) which can get hold of the Applet object and manipulate it.

Problem with java applet and array of arrays

i'm passing an array of arrays from java applet using
JSObject.getWindow(applet).call("jsFunction", array(array(), array()) );
in every other browser than safari 4.0.2 it's no problem to iterate over this array. in safari "array.length" is undefined. is such construction supported in safari's js engine?

Thanks for the answer but the problem is the type of object of method and how from pl/sql is posiblle to call.
The method waiting a ArrayofAlicIva, but if i define this object is not posible to set the object inside the array because the wsdl not have this functions.
I need to define array of objects but the object is inside is the diferent type of array.
If i Define the array of object correct to object inside, the method expect that the other array type.

Can I play an avi movie in a Java applet?

Yes, I know about the existence of Google, but I got swamped by totally irrelevant hits when I tried to google it.
I simply want to know if a java applet can be used to play a avi movie on a html page? And if yes, if anyone know a site that details how to do it?
