Forms and active x controls

i am trying to include active x controls using oracle forms 5.0.6. I can add an ocx to the canvas, this is as far as i can get, how do i set properties and so on.

After you add the ocx control in the canvas, right click on the ocx control. It ll bring you a menu with one menu item enabled, called Insert Object. Select the menu, a small window will popup listing all the Control Types. Select the desired type that u requre in your application. It ll change the activex control to make a feel of the control type. Again click on the activex control, you can see more menu options. Tle last menu will be about the control. once you move your mouse over the menu a submenu will come named 'properies' and 'convert' . Click on the properties submenu , the property window will popup . Set the desired property you want to set.

Active X controls are not used in Firefox they are used by Internet Explorer.

Martin, if it works in standalone VB program but not in an .asp page
through VBScript, I guess the reason may be the type mismatch on the
parameters of the ActiveX automation methods. VBScript is a subset of VB
and only supports the OLE data type VARIANT for calling the OLE
interface. The Conductor ActiveX control probably requires the actual
data types, such as long, BSTR, and so on, to be used on the parameters.
As a result, VBScript cannot call the methods on the control. One
workaround you can try is to create your own ActiveX control which is
simply a wrapper for calling the Conductor control. Its parameter types
use VARIANT and you do the data conversion in your wrapper code. Hope
this helps.

I don't have 6.1 in front of me now. I came up with a workaround for my application when I encounted this problem. I created an attribute node for the container and the tab control. Whenever the tab control was not on the page with the control, I made the container invisible. This then hid the activeX control.

I'm using the latest version of firefox, but unable to print any downloads. I've tried using the print icon on the downloaded form and also control P

If you cannot see any content on pages you printed or in print preview, the cause might be margins which are set too high.

Controlling Access of end users on Categories and Activity versions

I am having end users who are having full access in learning Administrator for Creating Categories and Activity versions , Offerings and Classes in using Learning Administrator responsibility.
As per the business needs i need to create a new responsibility where end users can not create categories & Activity version but they can create only offerings & classes on selected Activity version.
your guide lines will be greatly appreciated.

You're not understanding the way Discoverer works. The lowest level of security control that can be applied inside Discoverer is at the business area level. Thus if a user has access to any part of a business area then they have access to the whole business area. This is done by your administrator using TOOLS | SECURITY from the Administration menu bar.
The privileges that can be set using TOOLS | PRIVILEGES control what a user can do with the data that they have access to (remember that access itself is at the business area). Thus if a user has the Create / Edit workbook privilege and they have access to two business areas then they have that privilege for both business areas and create or edit workbooks to their heart's content in both of them.
Further, and I think this is where you may be getting confused, you have to understand that an end user cannot grant the privilege for another end user to have access to their business area simply by sharing a workbook. The act of sharing a workbook does not share the access rights. In order for one user, aka the Registrar, to be able to run a workbook that was created by another user, aka the HR director), the Registrar must already have been granted access to the HR business areas by the Discoverer administrator. If a user does not have access to a business area but does have access to a workbook from that business area then they will not be able to execute the workbook.
It therefore sounds like you do not have security under control.

Active X Control is in sysWOW64, AND System 32. I NEED IT DELETED from System 32.

I'm on an Acer laptop, with a 1.9gHz Intel Celeron. I'm running Windows 7 HP. I use IE11 AND Firefox32 both, all of the time. Flash15_0_0_152 was installed in sysWOW64/Macromed/Flash, for exclusive use in the 64 bit Internet Explorer, but the 15_0_0_152.ocx file, (Active X Control), also installed into System 32/Macromed/Flash folder, where I need to install the Flash "plugin for all other browsers", i.e., the Firefox 32 bit browser.
I don't think having the Active X Control in System 32 will allow Flash Player to operate properly, ( in Firefox ). With that said, how do I delete the file from System 32, so as to proceed with the FP "plugin for all other browsers" install?

I hate to sound dumb, like some kind of "smarty pants', but I DON'T exactly have this squared away.
I installed the Active X Flash while in Internet Explorer. Your post says that the browser knows the folder location, and Flash will install to that correct location. If System32 is the 64 bit location, and we know that Flash for IE is 64 bit, then why are my Active X Flash files in sysWOW64, ( the 32 bit location?)
I am by no means, trying to be rude, in ANY WAY, so PLEASE do not take ANY of my comments that way, PLEASE. I have grown rather tired of dealing with these Flash issues, ( for over a YEAR ), so I am just going to throw caution to the wind, and try, (RIGHT NOW ), to install the Flash plugin, and see what happens. I'll post my results ASAP.
My playback issues are: (1): I must refresh some sites 4 or 5 times, before I FINALLY "get lucky", and get Flash to playback video(s). Sometimes, it matters not, and those sites absolutely refuse to allow Flash to work properly there. (2): Some sites just will not allow playback at all...period.
(3): I suppose the following has a lot to do with my Internet speed, ( I've tested my DSL speed, and, apparently, it is rather slow ), but, for at least half of the time, all that happens when I am playing back a video, is buffering, buffering, etc. I usually get fed up with it, and exit the screen. Sometimes, under this particular scenario, I will give the video in question a second attempt, but, more often than not, it still will not work, and I'll give up, exiting that screen.
I need to point out that the largest percentage of these problems were occurring before I uninstalled, and re-installed Flash (Active X ), for IE. As I said a few sentences ago, I have yet to re-install the Flash plugin, but am about to do so. More later.

Active X controls in Excel 365 stopped working

After today's Windows update and re-boot, I am no longer able to drop an Active X control on a sheet or even access existing controls' properties. Underlying VBA code works as do macros and form controls.
Anybody else seeing this?

Yes, as far as I test the issue occurred in Office 2013 too. Here is a workaround provided by other community:
First：
Start Windows Explorer.
Select your system drive (usually C:)
Use the Search box to search for *.exd
Delete all the files it finds.
Start Excel again.
Second：
In this file you can find this line:
@del "C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms\*.exd" /s

Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 - Need help!

I am working on a form in Office 365 Excel 2013 that uses the Microsoft Date and Time Picker Control 6.0. When I set the form up last week, this Active X control was working perfectly. The weekend goes by...and now it's not working at all?
My PC is 64 bit. I believe my version of Office is also 64 bit. When I researched this issue online, I found lots of people who indicated that this control was missing in their development kit. It was and has always been available in mine
(i.e. I didn't have to load an MSCOMCT2 file). Further, this control WAS WORKING when I created it last week. Now it is not, even though no changes have been made to it. I can place the control on the sheet and even set properties for it.
But once I click out of Design Mode, it is not functioning. It doesn't open or respond to any clicks on it.
Can anyone help me identify a reason why it may have suddenly stopped working? I don't think it is macro-related because I have a 'Clear Form' button on the same page and it works just fine.
UPDATE: I've noticed something else peculiar but relevant. My office 365 just did some updates. When updates were completed, it auto-reopened my file. I noticed that the Date/Time Picker button looked funny (really pixelated).
So I hit 'Design Mode' and resized it. After I exited 'Design Mode,' it started working again. I tested it, along with my 'Clear Form' button multiple times. It seemed to be working fine. I closed the document and reopened it.
Enabled Macros. When I tried to use it after reopen, it doesn't work again. Won't respond to ANY attempts to click on it. I can click on 'Design Mode' and it sees the control, edits properties, etc. But when you click out of 'Design Mode,'
it's a dead button again. I also went to someone else's desk to test this form. Same problem. Date/Time picker button doesn't work, even after enabling macros. The Clear Form Button has no problems though.

Would you like to tell me your Excel version number (Go to Account>About Excel). I tested in my version :15.0.4569.1504 and the Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 still could be used.

I recommend we recreate a new blank Excel file and insert the Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 to test.

Forms not active in Communication tab in Customs Declaration

The forms (Shippers Letter of Instructions, SED, COO etc) are not active and not showing up in "Communication" tab of Customs Declaration while creating a customs declaration manually from transaction /SAPSLL/CL_CUS_01.
Appreciate any help in pointing to missing configuration or activation of BAdI etc.

Hi Venkat,
Sorry for delay in reply and thanks for helping me out on this issue. We have worked out the ADS configuration issues, set up master data for printer, set up .xdc files for printer etc. and are now able to display the forms and able to 'print preview' the forms.
However, when I print preview the form, the print icon is grayed out. I am not able to print the form. Can you please advise what am I missing?

Merging multiple forms and having shared fields

I am designing multiple forms for a client for application purposes. There are about 40 forms in all. Client is designing a online helper that will help users download only the forms they need for their application. So once that is decided, then we are giving them a download link for required forms only. In the end client will print the forms and submit them manually. (I know it could be done better, but not yet) There will be about 16-17 different combinations of forms.
Thing is, many of these forms have repetitive fields (name, address, phone, email, etc), so we would REALLY like to have it so that once filled out, those fields could quickly populate all the rest of the remaining forms. (does that make sense?)
I have had a couple ideas on how to accomplish this
1) Magic
2) Combined all required forms into one large PDF. Make the 16-17 possible combinations and then just set them all up manually.
Problem is that if Form 6 changes, it may change in 10 different packages. I don't want to do that manually every time there is a change
3) Somehow use Adobe Livecycle to piar the fields up in the different docs, and have them all linked. (think that is impossible, hense #1)
4) Your suggestion?

The templates/PDFs designed in LC are primarily can not talk to each other. But we can make them pull and save the information stored in Database through LC workflow. Which will give them ability to transfer data between using SOAP (we can activate these SOAP transfers on certain events or on user actions). But that involves User acknowledging each time the data transfer activated (of-course there is an option to remember the user action and never ask the user but it is controlled by user). Things get complicated once you start in this direction. However we use this technique in our internal environment.
