Forum feedback

Hi All,
its been more than 7 months I have been using this forum. This forum is very useful as most of queries are well answered by the experts. However, One general trend I have observed that among all queries ,only one those are related to OPA tool are answered. There is not much help available through this forum for customization of OPA. OPA might be a excellent tool for evaluation of the policies however without customization this tool cannot be used commercially. Say for example, you cannot hide a control until you submit the screen, this I have achieved using some java script to hide or show controls without doing a submit action. But if a control becomes once mandatory and if I hide it then the screen doesn't move further. This all can be avoided if this forum provides help on customization or at least it must have tutorial section where experts can post their experience with such customization. I myself posted several queries regarding customization viz. creating new custom screen, etc. But none of them were answered. This is just my opinion. I would like to hear others'.
Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback. I cannot comment in any official capacity, however I can say that a large proportion of the people reading and replying to your posts are OPA developers who have no dedicated time to devote to answering queries. Questions about the tool we can usually answer off the top of our head, but anything involving customisation sometimes requires a bit of tinkering to double-check that something we have designed to be extensible will indeed support the specific customisation that you've asked for, or it just requires knowledge that not every OPA developer knows off by heart. Sorry!
We do the best we can, but we're also trying to get our ordinary work done, and it may be that the level of help you require is better served by hiring a dedicated Oracle Consultant for a few hours, or it may just be that the people or person who can answer your question quickly and authoritatively is simply away for a week or two. We keep trying, I hope we can do better in the future.

  • So why no forum feedback section for Apple stores?

    Hmmm..
It's clear somebody can't take constructive criticism.

This section of the boards is here to gather feedback about the discussions themeselves, and nothing else. These discussions are not the way to submit feedback to Apple about any product, it's here for troubleshooting purposes. There are some feedback pages on Apple's website, and they shouldn't be too difficult to find. Again, the only reason for this "Forum Feedback" (which is in fact called Discussions Feedback or Feedback about Discussions) is to get feedback from forum members about how to improve or simply make the forums work, Apple does not want you to give feedback about anything else here. Moreover, "forum feedback section for Apple stores" doesn't make much sense IMO.

  • I only can post in this forum "feedback and Discussions"

    Hi:
I cant post new topics in other forums. I only can do replies but no new posts.. Could you help me
    Thanks
    JP

    Hi JP!
If you have a question, or suggestion, about using Discussions, from this page Feedback about Discussions, click on Post New Topic, as you have done here.
If you have a Technical question about Apple Hardware, Programs, Services, Technology, Software, Applications, Products, etc, from this page Discussions - Forum Home, select an appropriate Category from one of the sixteen divisions.
For example, under Mac OS X Related Software, choose the Category Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger.
On the page that opens, select a Forum, such as Installation & Setup, or Using Mac OS X Tiger.
Most Category pages, have numerous Forums within them.
But some may have only one, two, or three.
For example the Safari Category page has four choices listed under Forum / Category, but only two of them, are Forums:
Safari 3 Public Beta for Windows
    Safari for Mac Support forum.
And the Apple Remote Desktop Category, has only one Apple Remote Desktop Forum.
On Forum pages, there is an option to Post New Topic.
Click here for all iPod Forums.
Click here for all iTunes Forums.
More info here How Is Discussions Content Organized.
It can be confusing, but explore the different areas, and you will acquire a better understanding of the hierarchy.

    Hi Cat
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to provide some feedback.
First I will start with the positi've. Windows XP drivers for my X-Fi Fatalty are fine, the DVD-Decoding works and I can listen to my DTS Audio and also play my games with no problems, in fact?the audio sounds vibrant and rich all in all using the?X-Fi on Windows XP is an enjoyable and worthwhile investment.
    However
I have a few not quite so positi've things to report about Windows Vista. (x64 with SP).
) DTS Decoding is no longer possible (Why is this when the driver 2.5.006 is the same version as XP?!?)
    2) No?WaveRT support?!? The X-Fi in theory supports WaveRT under Windows Vista, yet? year after Vista's release the drivers?still do not support this.
3)?Snap, Crackle and Pop. Every now and then I hear the odd pop or crackle, I am unable to trace down why this is happening. It is rare but frequent enough to notice.
    4) Skipping music, again rare but noticeable sometimes music "skips" the odd few milli seconds.
5). Terrible Sound Stutter in Crysis, this maybe a problem with the game as oppose to the drivers, but I thought I would mention it just in case.
    6) Half-Life 2/Source Engine games?with ALChemy have odd sound issues (levels are not quite right as well as audio being clipped) and speaker configuration not being detected?I have discussed this with Daniel Peacock (Creative ALchemist) he has also noticed that the sound is not quite the same under Vista as it is with XP.

Please could you pass all of these concerns onto Development along with my system specifications.
    Thank you
If possible could Creative provide a regular Beta driver with beta feedback forum that way we can all hopefully quash the X-Fi Driver Gremlins present under Vista and at the same time dispel any wild conspiracy theories Re: "Driver crippling"?

  • Mobile Forum Feedback

The HP Support Forum has recently released a mobile optimized website. Now you can access the support forum on your smartphone at hp.com/supportforum. We would like to hear your feedback on this new capability. Please reply to this thread to submit your comments. Thanks.

    Greetings -
I used my wife's iPod Touch to browse the Forum and even to compose and post an answer last week.  It worked well, although I was not able to use bold, underline, add a link, etc.  I suppose with room at such a premium space can not be found for everything.  That being said, the mobile experience worked very well for me and seemed well planned and executed.  I was able to compose and post my reply and then later, on a laptop, go back and add the bolding, links etc.
You can also revert to the standard web site full display via a link at the bottom of each page.  Of course text in that mode is extremely small, even with magnifying reading glasses.  Using finger motion to enlarge the text results in seeing only a very small portion of the page in non-mobile mode.
Overall, after using the iPod Touch for a few hours I would say HP has done well with this, and I was using the iPT in portrait orientation.  Pages are even easier to use when held in landscape orientation.
What do the rest of you think? - Randy

  • Alternative Forum Feedback

Can anyone here recommend a decent Logic forum elsewhere that segregates it's users and topics appropriately -- and also has decent traffic?
If you're one to offer some decent suggestions, chances are you can understand why I'm asking about alternatives to this location here.
I've found a few recently; haven't invested much time in 'em yet though. I would appreciate any advice if y'all have some favs.
Additionally, I'd also welcome any recommendations for active forums that promotes the theory and practice of mixing (without a DAW preference).
    Cheers.

The Tape-Op community is very helpful and open (and not related to only DAW stuff).
    http://messageboard.tapeop.com
It's a mature community of people who take recording stuff pretty seriously. So if you're looking for the place that will entertain real boneheaded questions from folks who just bit-torrented Logic and didn't even read the included pdf manuals before starting threads ... that's probably not the place.
I have learned a LOT just lurking the forums there, and when I have asked good questions, I've usually been overwhelmed with very relevant discussion. A real gem of a community over there.

  • OT: Feedback on this forum

Apologies for posting this here but I have spent a quarter hour hunting round the revised format of the Apple Forum and cannot find the correct location.
The new format still continues to drive me nuts - compared to the old one and here below is one of the reasons.
There is not a clear enough distinction between the TITLE or TOPIC of a question and the CONTENT of the question.
Hence you get long TITLES as in the answer below because the box says' Submit your question' when what it actually means is SUBMIT YOUR QUESTION TOPIC' ..  the poster's TITLE IS much longer than his actual question
Any chance of changing this - and putting a really clear simple box for FORUM feedback ?

  • Topic: Feedback Forum becoming utterly useless Part2

Another problem that makes it diifficult to find threads you need to post to is under old system when you received email notifications the subject line of the notifications were identical to the subject line of the actual post. So people knew what forum they are in.
Now with the new system notifications use the arcane system of: "Apple Discussions forum "Feedback about New Discussions" has been updated by Michael Wasley" which make it difficult even for Email Clients and web Browsers to thread the subjects properly.
I have posted this complaint as a standalone subject and as a reply to several post. I have yet to hear from a sysop, nor moderatator why they are making it so difficult to traverse the system. Perhaps, if this was changed you might receive less missplaced post!?

    Hi Donald
This is how they come to me with links to specific forum or to thread.

This appears that the link is supposed to go to the Forum Feedback and Suggestions board, which I already knew about. (Obviously, since this post is on that board.) So it looks like the link just needs to be updated.
Unfortunately, I was hoping for an alternate route to support and/or a status post.

If there is a way to do it, I suggest you put the heading of this thread in bold on the Feedback & Suggestions Board page, sticky it, make sure it is at the top of the list of threads on this Board, and make it permanently unread so that returning members who have read it once will read it again and hopefully pay attention to what it says.

  • How Can Users Contact Forum Support?

While browsing through the site, I found this post: Welcome to Verizon Community Forums
While most of the links provided work, there is a link for "Forums Technical Support" that leads to a 404 error page. Is there a correct link for Forum Support?
The only real issue I seem to have with the forum is when it won't allow me to log in, and I've only ever had that happen twice. Both times I had several other people try from different networks with different logins, and no one was able to login. This makes it impossible to post in the forums, even to report that there is an issue.
It would be nice to have a way to contact Forum Support to let them know when there is an issue with logging in. Also, maybe a thread somewhere that only Admins/Mods have access to edit that lets forum users know when there is an issue. (This would put my mind at ease. No need to contact support to let them know  that there is an issue if they are already aware of it.)
    So, the short version:
    1. Forum Support link is broken.
    2. Forum Status thread would be helpful.
Just my thoughts, feel free to use, not use, add to, or consider indefinitely.
If a forum member gives an answer you like, give them the Kudos they deserve. If a member gives you the answer to your question, mark the answer as Accepted Solution so others can see the solution to the problem.

  • Flash Forum Suggestion

    On the
Adobe.com and Forums Feedback forum I posted a suggestion
which applies to this forum. It concerns the two languages,
Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0, we are all so familiar with. ;)
Well maybe it is personal, but I find it increasingly
difficult to find myself the correct answers searching these
forums, as at present only few users define which version of
Actionscript they program in. While most people are now still using
2.0, more people will start using 3.0 and with the syntax of 3.0
being pretty different from 2.0, this will present a problem, I
    think.
So I suggested that topic creaters should have to choose
whether their question applies to AS1.0&2.0, or AS3.0. That
would make browsing the boards for relevant information a whole lot
    easier.
Another option would be if people would adopt some kind of
[ASx.0] prefix, to manually insert before their topic subject, but
that would probably be too much asked.
Oh well. Just my two cents. :P

    Hi,
I'm starting my own forums for ActionScript 2.0/3.0. I
    started them in
order to offer assistance for my Flash API but I think it
    would also be
a good place to offer assistance to anyone needing general
    Flash help.
The forums are brand spanking new and I'll make sure everyone
    gets a
solid reply one way or another. Drop by!
