Forwarded email needs to show as email name in outgoing emails

I have forwarded an email address to mac mail and need that email address to show when I send emails, can figure out how to do that.....any help appreciated.

Constant requests for password generally indicates you need to add password again in the Account.
1) Open Keychain Access in Applications/Utilities. Run Keychain First Aid.
Choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid.
Enter your user name and password.
Select Repair and click Start.
If any problems are found run again to verify all repaired.
For good measure, run Repair Permissions in Disk Utility.
Next, open Mail. Under Window in the Menu bar select Connection Doctor. You will see green to indicate a connection and red to show there is a problem. Except for iCloud account you'll see two entries for each account 1) receiving and 2) SMTP for sending.
Edit Receiving password in the main Account window. Enter password then click out to select Save. Verify in Connection Doctor that it is now connecting.
EDIT SMTP SETTINGS
In Accounts window > Outgoing Mail Server SMTP:  select to Edit SMTP Server list... from popup.
Select account in the list.(It's not uncommon to find extra SMTP servers listed. When you remove account, Mail does not delete the smtp info. You might need to do some clean up in the list to remove the extras.)
Under Advanced Tab:
Apple defaults to the default ports (25,465, 587) but some servers prefer a custom port. Check to see what port they recommend. Gmail for example likes 465, Outlook.com 587.
Verify if your server require SSL.
User Name. Enter full email address  eg.  [email protected]
Add password if it is blank.(If you have two step authentication setup, you'll need to get an app specific password  more info)
http://www.google.com/landing/2step/
Open Connection Doctor under Window in the Menu bar.
Do you see green light now for your account SMTP?
Let me know if this helps.

  • Change name on outgoing emails, so I am anonymous to the receipient?

    Hello,
I am using the email manager on my Mac.
I have several email accounts set up and working fine, one of which I would like to remain anonymous when I send out mail. Right now my name shows up to the reader. Example: email address may be "[email protected]", but what shows up to the reader is "[email protected] AND "Bill Smith". I don't mind if the reader sees, "abc1", but I just want them to see "BJS", as opposed to "Bill Smith".
Is there a way to change this?

The 'Bill Smith' is taken from the 'Full Name' field in Mail Preferences -> Accounts. Just edit that to include whatever 'name' you want recipients to see.

  • Email account number instead of my name in sent emails

Upgraded to Mavericks recently and now my sent emails show my internet account number not my name.  My provider (Bell) says it's a Mac issue, and as the emails send perfectly from their BellMail site it does point to being an Apple issue.  Full name details are shown correctly in Mail Preferences, but any email I send only has the account number in the 'From'.  Any ideas?

  • The body of email is not showing, have to click open the email to see it

the body of the emails in my inbox are suddenly not showing, have to click open to see them, then it works. It is not how it should work. Have I, by mistake, changed anything that caused it? Updated the OSX Yosemite one day ago

    Howdy [email protected],
If you are not seeing the body of the mail the separator bar may be moved to one side so you only see the mail list.
    Mail (Yosemite): Read messages
Hide messages: Drag the separator bar all the way to the right. To show messages again, drag the bar to the left.
If you are in Classic view, the separator bar would move to the bottom.  Move it back up to see the mail preview.

  • Need help adding avatar and signature to outgoing email messages

I am trying to put an avatar and signature on my email messages. The mail Help files tell me to go to Mail-preferences and click signatures. When I got to Mail- preferences I don't see any options for clicking signature-only account information, special preferences and advanced. Please advise. Thanks much.

Hello and welcome to Apple discussions.
When you are in Mail Preferences, from the menu, click on View, then select Show Toolbar. Then you will see the Signature panel.

  • Smileys and How do I stop apple mail showing my full name in outgoing mail?

After discovering my apple mail downloaded photos much faster than Thunderbird and displayed my friends smileys(who is on AOL) I am thinking of deleting Thunderbird and just using apple mail, however I have two issues.
On Thunderbird I could choose for it to display my name as 'Katilea' which is my internet ID on most forums etc, however on apple mail it displays my full name which i gave as registered owner.
How do i change it so email only shows me as 'Katilea' in To and From without it affecting my registration details/user account for iMac etc?
Also how do I insert smileys myself, as it only seems to give option of fonts or colours but my friends smileys displayed correctly when she emailed me.
When I used the smileys in Thunderbird i could only see them in Thunderbird, when i opened same message in apple mail or from my ISP's web site I only saw the emoticon text?
Do I need some kind of add-on or do i just type in the emoticon text (ie colon right parentheses) and it will display them at the other end?

with regard to the smileys I tried sending myself the following line sone emoticon text and one smiley pasted from friends email:
    08.gif :-D
where it says 08.gif should show a yellow smiley but it hasnt pasted it in here, it did in the email, but the others were still just emoticon text and it showed 2 attachments which I'm assuming were the AOL smileys that i copied.
I tried text with and without noses but dont seem to be seeing smileys in my apple mail except for the ones my friend sent from AOL.
I tried to copy your sentence with smiley into this question to ask what symbol you meant. however when i pasted it it showed me the colon space right ) , i tried pasting that into apple mail and posting it to myself and i could still only see the text and not the smiley that appeared in your reply. Is it something I'm doing wrong? why do more of the smileys show up in preview than compose?
    Lastly what does FWIW mean?

Note that the rescue email address is not on the "Name, ID and Email Address" page -- you need to click on "Password and Security" on the left side. Even after you do that, it may or may not be available. As noted in the following it is only available if you have 3 security questions and are not using 2-step verification: Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses

  • Auto save a copy of outgoing email in SharePoint 2010

    Hi,
I need to save a copy of an outgoing email from SharePoint Server 2010. So is there any option in SharePoint to save a copy as audit or do we need to write custom thing for this? Any idea how to achieve this .  pls share your thougths  if you done
this before or any ideas about solution approach also great help.

One thing to note - there's a limit if you are using SharePoint Designer workflow to send the original email - it cannot email back to another SharePoint email-enabled list. You are  'protected' from yourself.
We had an instance where I needed data to cross site boundaries in a site collection, and I had to do it through workflow. So our 'hack' was to email another Exchange mailbox set up specifically to relay emails. That mailbox had a rule to forward the email
    back into SharePoint.
Terribly clumsy but it works. A SharePoint workflow email cc's the Exchange mailbox, which then forwards the email back to an email-enabled discussion list used as an email store.

  • Mac Mail No Longer Sends Outgoing Email

Has Verizon changed its email settings?  My Mac Mail program suddenly quit sending out my university email from home and says the outgoing verizon server rejected the password.  However, nothing has been changed in my email program and it won't accept any password to send the outgoing email.
The online instructions provided by Verizon for Entourage indicate changing the outgoing port setting to 587.   But that does not work.
Why can't the Mac Mail program send out email through Verizon any more?

Thanks for helping.  While the university has web mail for off campus access, our IT said that off campus users (i.e., when at home) using a dedicated email client (e.g., Mac Mail) should send outgoing email through their internet service provider.  I agree, it doesn't seem right to me, but that's what they have us do.
Settings that worked previously: The incoming server is a pop account, mail.cahnrs.wsu.edu with a user name and password.  The outgoing server is outgoing.verizon.net using port 587 with user name and password.
The university email is generally [email protected]  But it could also be [email protected]
Until about two days ago, these settings were working fine, so it seems like something changed somewhere.
Thanks very much for any help you can offer.
So when you're off-campus, are you still in Washington? If so, you're in an area that's been sold to Frontier, and it's entirely possible that your email access has been converted. You can contact Tech Support if you need help setting things up and/or verifying the status of your account. I was able to find this via Google, hopefully it will help you:
    http://www.frontierhelp.com/faq.cfm?qstid=1
Basically it says your SMTP server should be smtp.frontier.com, but there's also a link-off that appears to provide walk-throughs for configuring your client.
    Hope this helps!

  • Wrong outgoing email address

    Hi,
I have several email accounts set on my Mail. Recently outgoing email messages that I had sent from my A address, where arriving to the recipients as if they where sent from my B address. If I temporarely disable my B address from the advanced tab, and I relaunch Mail, things work properly again. But as soon as I enable address B, it starts doing it again.
    Any clues?
    Thanks,

    Hi brunus.
I’ve never seen this particular problem reported before and don’t really know what’s going on here, but I just came across this thread again while searching for something else, and thought that if you still have the problem and are reading this, I’d try re-creating the preferences file — I have no idea whether it’ll make a difference, though:
    1. Write down your Mail > Preferences > Accounts settings or take screen shots of them.
    2. If you have a .Mac account and .Mac synchronization of Mail data is enabled either in Mail > Preferences > General or in System Preferences > .Mac, disable it before proceeding.
    3. Quit Mail.
    4. Make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the Mail folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is locally stored.
    5. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop (to be deleted if this solves the problem).
    6. Open Mail. You’ll have to set up your non-.Mac accounts from scratch all over again. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and Mail will automagically rediscover the data in ~/Library/Mail/ when done.
    7. You’ll have to re-configure some of your Mail > Preferences settings. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
    8. As a side effect of re-creating com.apple.mail.plist, Mail might rename Outbox (which is where messages waiting to be sent are stored) to Delivered. The name of that mailbox is actually a misnomer, as it would contain messages (if any) that couldn’t be delivered for some reason. You can delete that mailbox if you wish.
    9. If the problem is fixed now and .Mac synchronization of Mail data was enabled at the beginning, enable it again, go to System Preferences > .Mac > Advanced, click Reset Sync Data, and choose the appropriate options to reset the Mail data stored on the .Mac server with the data locally stored on the computer, i.e. sync data must flow from the computer to the .Mac server.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the folder path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the folder path there.

  • The email message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing email settings for the server are configured properly

i have an issue when loading a workflow. it gives me a following error "The email message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing email settings for the server are configured properly". it doesnt send me any alerts and worlflow fails at the end
    with the above error message.

    Hi,
I agree with Bistesh. But after Outgoing e-mail settings are configured properly, if the issue still exists,
It may result from your Anti-Virus. Please refer to the following steps:
Open MCAfee Console and go to Access Protection window.
Click Anti-Virus Standard Protection and edit “prevent mass mailing
    worms from sending emails” rule.
Now we need to know which processes are being blocked therefore we need to check the MCAfee Log located at
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\DesktopProtection\AccessProtectionLog.txt
you may find entries of DtExec , DtExecUI and DatabaseMail90, now these processes need to be entered in the exclusion list of selected rule .
Reset the IIS And SharePoint Timer service to check if this works for you.
Here are some similar issues with you, you can use as a reference:

  • Mail suddenly stopped sending outgoing emails!

I have 4 email accounts in Mail that just stopped sending outgoing emails yesterday without changing anything!
I have another Mac (OS X 10.6) connected to the same router, I set up one of the email addresses on that with the same details and it works perfectly.
I've noticed there are a couple of other threads on here with the same thing and they don't appear to have answers, hopefully someone knows something!
    Help, very much appreciated!

You likely have corrupted settings for your  "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)".  Open Mail>go to Mail's Preferences>Accounts>there set up your Outgoing Mail Server which will INCLUDE resetting up your Password, as its asking you to.  Click on "SMTP Outgoing Mail Server" near the bottom of the Accounts window while your mail account is highlighted in the left hand column.  When you click on SMTP... you will see a drop down box icon offered at the right side of the line.  Click it and then select at the bottom of the the list "Edit SMTP Mail Server".  Fill in the required settings for your ISP mail account using their recommended settings.

  • I lost my address book when I installed Mountain Lion and have not been able to recover it.  WHen I type in a name in an email the address shows up, so I know it is in there.  How can I restore my address book?

I don't know how to do this.  I typed the question in the bar above, but apparently need to type it again here.  I lost my entire address book when I installed Mountain Lion and have been unable to recover it.  I know the information is in there as when I type in someone's name in an email the address always shows up right away.  How can I find the information for my contacts and restore my address book? Do I need to go to the Apple Store that is 2 hours away and have an expert help me or can I find out how to do it online for free myself?

The auto-complete in Mail addresses comes from two sources: (1) The "Previous Recipients" list, which can be viewed via Mail > Window > Previous Recipients. (2) Your Address Book (now called "Contacts").
If you did in fact lose your Address Book - are you sure you don't have "Contacts" in your Applications Folder? - It sounds like you are getting addresses from source (1).  If you did in fact lose your  Address Book (now called "Contacts" !!), you will have to restore it from a backup.
