Forwarding to new domain
Dear All,
I have created a new domain and mail users are defined in a new server other than the backend server. I would like to forward any incoming emails to that domain to the new server. How can I setup the front end servers to forward those emails?
Regards,
Scotty
Hi,
i added the following to my imta.cnf file
!rewrite rule for oldserver.com
oldserver.com $U%$D@tcp_oldserver-daemon
*.oldserver.com $U%$D@tcp_oldserver-daemonI would recommend something more like the following:
oldserver.com $E$F$U%$D@tcp_oldserver-daemon
*.oldserver.com $E$F$U%$H$D@tcp_oldserver-daemon
This will stop [email protected] being rewritten to address%.oldserver.com@tcp_oldserver-daemon and will only apply the rule to forward envelope addresses (i.e. RCPT TO: addresses).
!tcp_oldserver
tcp_oldserver smtp nomx single_sys subdirs 10
noreverse daemon newserver.com dequeue_removeroute
tcp_oldserver-daemonLooks good.

More than one site with iweb - now my original site forwards to new one
Could anybody help me please?!!
Right. I set up a portfolio website using iweb with a domain from ipage, and that was all fine. Then a few months later, I have set up a website for my Mum's artwork with a new domain bought through the same account on ipage - because ipage allows you to have multiple domains.
Now that I have set up my Mum's site, my own original site just forwards straight to my Mum's. I have checked loads of times that I've entered the right web addresses etc in the bit for the info so that's all correct. I don't know what else to do now. I don't speak the code lingo and am quite basic in my website building knowledge...
Please if there is anyone who can tell me what to do, I'm guessing there's probably a simple solution to this!!
Thankyou!!!
Josephine
P.S I don't know if my version is iweb '08 but it was the only iweb one to select in 'product' options..Here's how to have multiple sites in a single MMe account with one or more sites having a domain name.
A. All sites are in the same Domain.sites2 files
1 - only one site can use the CNAME method of domain name forwarding and it must the top site in the left hand pane of iWeb.
2 - the other sites must use URL domain name forwarding which directs the domain name to the site's full MMe URL, http://web.me.com/MMe_Username/Site_Name, or, if there is no domain name, just MobileMe's full URL.
B. Each site is in its own Domain.sites2 file.
Again, only one site can use CNAME forwarding. This presents a problem since CNAME forwarding directs the domain name to the basic MMe account URL: http://web.me.com/MMe_Username/ which uses an index.html file in the root folder of the account, iDisk/Web/Sites. Each time a new site is published or an existing site uses the File->Publish Entire Site a new index.html file is created in that root directory, iDisk/Web/Sites folder, directing the browser to that particular site. This file is what the CNAME method uses to find the site it represents. Therefore some steps must be taken to assure that the index.html file in the MMe Accounts root directory always points to the correct site. This can be accomplished is three ways.
1 - don't use the CNAME method. Just use URL forwarding . This, IMO, is the simplest method as it doesn't requre any additional effort on the user once the domain name has been set up.
2 - use the following method suggested by Wyodor in this topic: Is it possible to have multiple sites when using ur Domain name?
In iWeb domainfile 1:
Create a dummy site : _dummy
with a blank page.
Create your working site : Whatever
Add pages
Publish both Sites to the same same location on the same server.
Your _dummy site is now the default Site.
Check.
In iWeb domainfile 2:
Create/Use your CurrentSite.
Move a page to the top of the Site and back. Publish the Site.
iWeb will create a new index.html file in the root of the server and from now on CurrentSite is the default site.
Check.
From now on, never move your Whatever Site to the top of the list in the iWeb sidebar and never change the page in the _dummy site.
Simply do not touch your _dummy ever again. And never forget that.
3 - use Ethmoid's suggested method in Using two sites - setting one up with separate domain? or republishing the entire site that uses CNAME forwarding. Just making a minor change and publishing the site changes does not create a new index.html file.
The entire site must be republsihing in order to get that new site.
Or keep a copy of the CNAME site's index.html file on your Mac and replace it manually in the iDisk/Web/Sites fodler when necessary.
NOTE: the CNAME method provides a shorter URL: http://www.Domain_Name.com/Site_Name/Page_Name. CNAME does not have masking.
The URL forwarding displays the full MMe URL: http://web.me.com/MMe_Username/Domain_Name/Page_Name. With domain name masking that will be shortened to: http://www.Domain_Name.com for every page of your site.
However, with masking visitors will only be able to bookmark and enter at the first page of the site. If a page is refreshed the visitor is taken back to the first page. Also search engines will only be able to index the first page of the site.
As you know MobileMe will be discontinued next June 30th. With at in mind this might be of some interest to you at this time: Life After MobileMe.

My local Admin have blocked my website but i have another

Why? And what do you mean with "blocked"?

>don't need to type the complicated name in!

The correct way would be to use an HTTP redirect. On Apache
servers all
it needs is a Redirect or RedirectPermanent directive in an
.htaccess
file (see the Apache manual for details), I don't know about
IIS. But
are you still allowed to do such things, if the site is
"blocked"?

i just registered this domain name on godaddy.com:
www.briantylermusic.com
the website link before, was this:
http://web.me.com/cbarrywdw03/TheBrianTylerProject/Main.html
when i go to the new domain name, it shows up as this:
http://briantylermusic.com/TheBrianTylerProject/Main.html
how can i get rid of the site name in the address?Actually there is a way to remove the site name when publishing to MobileMe. However, if you have more than one site it will not work. It's spelled out here: IWEB : PUBLISH TO MOBILEME WITHOUT THE SITENAME IN THE URL. Remember you can have only one site published to your MMe account if you use this method.
If you can live with just www.briantylermusic.com in the URL of every page and only be able to bookmark and enter your site via the fist page use URL forwarding (instead of CNAME) with masking enabled. But remember the two caveats I mentioned. That could be a deal breaker depending on your site and the importance of individual pages.
Just my opinion but the look and content of the site is what catches people's eye and brings them back. This leads me to the fact that users won't even notice what's up there even if they bookmark it. The simple domain name will get them to the site and the content will keep bringing them back, not what the URL looks like. +Much ado about nothing+ as someone famous once wrote.

We were trying to add a new domain tree to our forest/domain with windows 2012 r2 but the promotion of the new domain controller for the new domain tree failed. Everything goes well until the final setup window, but then the new domain controller for the
new domain tree appears to stuck at "Replicating the schema directory partition" stage... It never ends the "Replicating the schema directory partition" stage!!!
So I went to the lab (in our Hyper-V) and try to replicate the problem. I created a new forest/domain and add a new domain tree, the process completed successfully. Bu then I replicated the same setup but using different IP subnet for each DC (like our production
environment), and the the SAME HAPPENS again, the setup goes until the final stage and stays forever at the "Replicating the schema directory partition" stage!!!
At this stage I don`t know if the problem is the same that we have in our PRD environment, but the problem has the same behavior. I suspect that the problem has something to do with IPV6 (I see the primary DNS for the NIC primary DNS listed with the IPV6 "::1"
before the IPV4 address), but i don`t know much about IPV6. I already tried several configurations, I disabled the firewalls in both lab DCs, I removed the IPV6 check option from the NIC properties from both DCs, I set BOTH DNS to respond only from their
IPV4, I tried to pre-stage the new domain tree DNS zone in the DC, and so on... Nothing works...
So the current scenario is:
Hyper-V physical machine / 2 Private switches (one for each subnet)
3 VMs
1 DC - First Domain/Forest / Static IP / DNS IPV4 point to itself / and IPV6 DNS = ::1 / It has the First DNS/Domain Zone and a conditional Forwarder that points to the 2nd DC that is in the other subnet.
2 DC - This is the one to be added with new domain tree in the existing Forest. Static IP address / DNS point to itself / and IPV6 DNS = ::1 / also has a conditional Forwarder that points to the 1st DC DNS domain zone that is in the other subnet.
Between both subnets I have a server that has RAS role to provide routing between both subnets
From both DCs I can ping each end, I have access to the shares in both ends, DNS appears to be working ok...
(Note: In one of the tests I created a new primary zone in DC02 to pre-stage the new domain tree zone in DC02 before running the active directory setup in DC02, then I went to DC01 and ping the DC02 by its FQDN, and DC02 replied, however if I try to ping only
the Primary Zone by its name "newdomaintree.com" it fails in both DCs witch is weird to me, I did the same test for the First/Domain DNS Zone in DC01 and worked ok for both tests, I could ping DC01 by FQDN and ping the "Domain.com" DNS
zone in both ends ).
Any thoughts on this one?!
Thank you.

If I understand your output correctly DC2 is the new DC. Do you have a forwarder to on DC2 so that it can find the zone for the root forest? My guess is no. I would recommend that although these two DC's are in different domains that they
point at each other as primary DNS (For DC 1 you can't point at DC2 until after it has been properly promoted into the forest).
So to start with change DC2's network settings to point to DC1 or use a conditional forwarder or a secondary zone of the root zone on DC2.

Hi Paul
As far as getting the ::1 from being the first resolver go into network properties for ip 6 and modify the address so that both the address and dns are provided via dhcp. Since you don't have a dhcp server for
ip 6 to give a dns record that should go away.
I try that but makes no difference for this scenario.
If I understand your output correctly DC2 is the new DC. Do you have a forwarder to on DC2 so that it can find the zone for the root forest? My guess is no.
Your guess wrong - remember, I can validate the credentials at the parent domain, and the setup only freezes at the
"Replicating the schema directory partition" stage.
I tested with forwarders, stubzones, conditional forwarding, IT WALYS FAILS at "Replicating
the schema directory partition" stage. when the new DC (DC2) is pointing to itself. It only WORKS when is pointing to DC01. -
Pointing my new domain name too my .mac homepage
Hi, please can someone tell me how to point my new domain name to my .mac account? I usually have to change DNS settings but I can't find them anywhere on this site.
ThanksYou may already figured this out, but I had the same problem and later learned that Apple will not provide a DNS number. I had to pay my domain host to forward my domain (aka "domain forwarding") so that someone typing in my domain is automatically forwarded to my Apple homepage. Even then, viewers will see the very long iWeb url in the domain/url field, and so to avoid that, you might consider paying a few more bucks to get "domain masking", which replaces the long winded iWeb urls with your domain. The only problem with that is no matter what page of your site the visiter is on it always says your domain (www.xxxxxx.com) in the domain/url field. Its a compromise, but at least you have the satisfaction of using your personalized domain name and the ease of use of Apple's iWeb system.

Plan migration new domain.
Hi Guys,
I am planning a stage migration from Domain_one to domain.two and an upgrade (New install) to exchange 2013. You will notice the underscore in Domain_one which is the reason for the migration
as we cannot install exchange 2013 (2007) with underscore in the domain.
I am hoping someone can review my plan overview and let me know if I am missing anything.
Create new domain.two
Create Trusted relationship between domains
Add desktop to domain.two
Test communication from desktop to domain_one servers (Excluding Exchange)
Install exchange domain.two
Setup exchange in domain_one to forward any mailbox that cannot be resolved on server to exchange server in domain.two
Use migration tool to migrate desktop to domain.two
Test Exchange in domain.two and migrated desktop access to domain_one
Export / import mailbox.
Migrate desktop in controlled process
Migrate server to domain two.
Point inbound mail to exchange server domain.two
One of the question I have is how to create the access to server from domain.two to domain_one. I assume that I need to allow security in the format of domain.one\Security group.
Thanks for any advice in advance.
Craig
CraigHi Craig,
About domain name, I would like to clarify the following thing:
1. The domain name can contain Letters, numbers, or hyphens (-).
2. The domain name should begin and end with a letter or a number.
What's more, I would like to verify if you do a staged Exchange migration.
Staged migration is used to migrate all the organization's mailboxes to Exchange Online.
Moreover, I recommend you perform a cross forest mailbox migration to a new Exchange 2013 Server that is installed in a new domain.
For more information, here is a blog for your reference.

Why is it not possible to move a SCCM 2012 Server to a new Domain?
Hello everybody,
I know it is not supported to move a SCCM 2012 Server to a new Domain. But I am still missing why it is not supported or possible....
I could not find anything that explained it in detail on the forums/internet. So when the question comes up in front of a customer it is always better to have a good argumentation...Can somebody describe the reasons why??
Thank you very much in advance!Have them call CSS then.
It's ultimately the result of the design of the product but not an explicit decision. To my knowledge, it relies on the domain name for certain things and this is explicitly embedded with no defined way to change this. Could it be changed? Probably.
But, that would take a lot of work and effort and is not something Microsoft has ever invested any time in.
The grass is green and the sky is blue. Knowing why doesn't change these.

Hello,
While working in lab enviornment; I came across following issue. I would like to request please shed light upon as to how one can gain access back to SQL server; in order to log on using object explorer; to re-assign sysadmin role; to a new domain to which
underlying OS becomes member; once the OS losses connectivity to the previous domain it was member of.
" SQL server instance was installed configured with "Windows Authentication" for DomainA. a service account was created in DomainA. service account was assigned "Log on As a service" right through group policy, was setup with SPNs
etc. SQL server started OK.
DomainA became unavailable. The server running SQL server database engine service removed from domainA. SQL Server database engine service disabled.
DomainB is created. A new service account was with "Log on As a service" right assigned, SPNs setup. Server hosting SQL server enrolled in DomainB. SQL Server database engine service re-assigned domain service account. SQL server started OK with
new service account."
Problem:
1. Using object explorer, I can't log onto SQL server instance to further configure SQL server security, assign sysadmin role to certain groups form the new DomainB.
2. Log on to SQL server instance using local server's 'administrator' account is denied log on.
3. Log on to SQL server instance using DomainB's 'administrator' account is denied log on.
4. Log on to SQL server instance using Object explorer; from designated service account is denied log on.
I even tried adding the service account to BuiltIn\Administrators local group using Restricted group; group policy feature, logged on to server using service account and attempted to log onto SQL server instance using service account credentails but it fails.
How do we recover from this?Hello,
Please follow this guide, for which you'll need a logon to the server which has local admin. Add your login in the new domain into the sysadmins once you connect to the instance locally.
