Hi,
When you run the financial statement report (RFBILA00), you need to specify your COA in the field *Country Specific Chart of
Accounts* on the selection screen.
Enter the below:-
- company code
- financial statement version
- reporting year and periods
- click the checkbox next to 'Alternative account number'
- do not enter any chart of accounts
If in the specified 'financial statement version' the alternative chart of accounts with alternative account number is assigned to
the fin.statement items this procedure should work. Refer the below OSS note 48495:-

Mater chart of accounts is nothing but the main account that is created at the client level.
    we have 3 COA
    1. Group chart of accounts
    2.country specific chart of accounts
    3. Operating chart of accounts
we can have maximum 3 chart of acocunts assigned to each company code
Company code chart of accounts is can be operating chart of account which contains the group of account used by that company...
If some specific requireement is there for the country reporting purpose than we need to use that and maintain that ,

  • Drawers in Chart of Accounts - are they Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss?

We have a customer who is using a Chinese localisation Company database.
When they created the new database, they found that there are only 6 Drawers in the Chart of Accounts. This is different from other localisations where we have 8 Drawers.
We are trying to find out which Drawers are for the Balance Sheet Report and which Drawers are for the Profit and Loss Report.
In the other localisations, the first 3 Drawers are for the Balance Sheet Report and the Drawers 4 to 8 are for the Profit and Loss Report.
    Please can anyone help us.
    Thank you

    Thanks for the info.
There doesn't seem to be a Revenue or Turnover section. Is the Costs section like Cost of Sales or Overheads?
    What is the P&L section?
Do you have any contacts in SAP China who would be able to help further? I have not been able to get any info from the Local Product Expert listed in the Channel Partner Portal, even though I have sent several emails.

  • Assign Chart of account to Controlling area

    Hi,
Why we assign Chart of account to Controlling area ?
    Regards,
    Pankaj

    Hi,
First of all I would like to tell you that we don't assign Chart of Accounts to a Controlling Area. It is the Company Codes that are assigned to the Controlling Area.
Now, the basic purpose of defining a Controlling area is that we want to capture cost and revenues for Internal Management Reporting. So this is where the Internal Accounting comes into play where we want to know about the internal reports pertaining to product cost, cost center reports, profit center reports, margins, contributions etc. All these helps us to analyses  the "Bottom Line"- Profit.
But the question that arises is how the expenses that are arising at the Financial accounting level be moved to the controlling area level? For this we assign company codes to a controlling area, but they should have the same chart of accounts and same fiscal year variants. Now the chart of accounts are nothing but a classification of structure and basic information about the G/L accounts. The  expenses that the company is incurring for its smooth operations are captured in the G/L accounts. The G/L accounts are defined under some specific Accounts group e.g.. Administrative Expenses, Depreciations, Secured Loans, Sundry Creditors etc. The frame work of these account groups is contained at the Chart of Accounts level.
So how should we make these values flow from FI to CO? The answer is that we will create these G/L accounts as Primary cost elements in Controlling. This ensures that expenses in Fi and the Primary Cost Elements in Co can be reconciled. So now there is a link that is been provided between FI and CO. This enables us to get both Eternal and Internal reports. Now, when we are assigning more than One company codes to one controlling area, then we should also have the same chart of accounts and G/L accounts so that we are able to draw reports easily without any discrepancies in the G/L accounts. For Company codes having different chart of acounts, we need to assign them to different controlling areas.
So in brief this is the role of Chart of Accounts in Controlling. I hope that you would be satisfied with the answer.

    Dhruv.

  • G/L Accounts are not copied

    Hi Experts,
I created a new company code and it is  copied from 1000.
But the G/L Accounts are not copied from 1000 to new company code.
i want to copy the existing G/L Accounts.
    Please guide me.
    Ramireddy

    Hi
Although you would ask it in FI forums, have you used the tcode OBY2 without the test flag to copy GL acc. from one company to the other? Remember that in destiny company must not have any account,
    Regards
    Eduardo
I copy the info from documentation in IMG:
    Copy Company Code
In this activity you can copy G/L accounts from one company code to another.
    Requirements
No G/L accounts may exist in the target company code.
The chart of accounts for the target company code must be a copy of the source company code's chart of accounts.
    Note
If no master data exists for G/L accounts in the chart of accounts area in the target company code, the system copies the master data from the source company code's chart of accounts.
    Activities
Enter a target company code in the Company code field. In the Copy from company code field, enter the company code you want to copy.

  • How G/L accounts are assigned to excise duties

    Hi to all,
Can anyone give me the solution for the issue.
How G/L accounts are assigned to excise duty? What are the configuaration steps needs to be done?.
    Thanks in advance,
    kumar.

    Hi ,
The menu path where you can assign GL accounts to Excise Duties is :
SPRO > Logistics General > Tax on Goods Movement > India > Account Assignment > Specify GL accounts per Excise Transaction.
In this activity, you assign the excise and CENVAT accounts to G/L accounts.
When you come to execute the various transactions, the system determines which G/L accounts to post to by looking at the:
    -Excise group
    -Company code
    -Chart of accounts
Furthermore, if you want separate account determination settings within an excise group, you can also use sub transaction types.
    Hope it clarifies
    Thanks

  • Set up Company Codes for Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable

    HI,
I need clarification on "Set up Company Codes for Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable"
When a company code "ABCD" isn't set up for contract accounts receivable and payable (Menu path:
SAP Insurance -> Collections/Disbursements -> Organizational Units -> Set up Company Codes for Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable), are postings on this company code "ABCD" within FS-CD not allowed and blocked ?
Is it mandetory to specify company codes to post in Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable in SAP FS-CD.

Yes .  It is mandatory to extend company code chart of accounts to CA/CR and FSCD.

  • Country Chart of Accounts - The need

    Hi Experts,
It is generally said that Country Chart of Accounts are required to comply with Country legal requirements, but what kind of requirements could those be?
Some of the things which I could think of are:
    1. Local GL numbering convention is different than the global one (for instance, China/France has this requirement).
    2. More than one Company Code exists for a country and so the Country Chart of ACcounts can be used for consolidating at Country level...this may not be the legal requirement, though.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi Pradeep,
Country Chart of Accounts is not used for consolidation but in some countries like CHina they have legal requirement, The Govt. will provide the specific format and you need to maintain your books of accounts in that format. All Financial Statement like Balance Sheet and P&L account Govt has given the specific name for each GL accounts, in day to day  practice you may have booked that expence under Production head but as per legal requirement you have to saw under different head.
    thx.

  • Change of Chart of Accounts

    Hi SAP Experts
I hereby would like to know what the posibility is to change a company Chart of Accounts.
The company was linked to a Chart of Accounts and operated for couple of months (year).  As this Chart of Accounts are also assigned to other company codes, the said company wants it own (new) Chart of Accounts.
Is it possible for a company that was operative to change its Chart of Accounts?
    Theo

    Hi,
We cannot change simply the Chart of Accounts. There is mandatory process to follow.
If you are trying to change system will prompt you error message, reset the transactionl data.
    1. Create a seperate Client with the help of Basis People
    2. Copy the Transactional Data in separate client.
    3. Now reset the data in Original Client
    4. Now change the COA.
    5. Now copy/migrate  the Transactional Data to Old Client.
Note: Before resetting the data, actual Transactional Data should be copied in to another client without loosing your Business Data.
    Thanks

    Hi,
As you see the Company Code Q001, that was not assiged to any Controlling Area. But if i type Q001 to CCode filed, there is an error:
Data in company code Q001 is not maintained.
    Message no. KT294

Assignment control requires that the currency, fiscal year variant, and chart of accounts are all maintained in the company code. At least one of these settings is not maintained in company code Q001.

I want to use this field to develop a auto creation of GL account.

    Hello,
There are three chart of accounts will be there in the system.
    1. Operating Chart of Account - for day to day activities
    2. Group Chart of Account - for group reporting
    3. Country Chart of Account - for legal reporting in the country
Any chart of account is a chart of account. Every chart of account irrespective of operating or group or country chart of account will have two segments.
    1. Chart of Account Segment
    2. Company Code Segment
Both the segments can be created through FS00.
You have create a recording through LSMW and create each chart of account.
Refer the following link for LSMW
    www.scmexpertonline.com/downloads/SCM_LSMW_StepsOnWeb.doc
Before uploading data thorugh LSMW, create chart of account names in OB13.
If you assign group chart of account to operating chart of account in OB13, Group account field will appear in GL account of operating chart of account.

  • No corporate chart of accounts is defined for your chart of accounts

    Hi
I want to know what can be the reason if GLs exist at the chart of accounts level and not at the comany code level even though the company code is assigned to the chart of accounts .
When I go to create the Gl at CoCd leve it says 'No corporate chart of accounts is defined for your chart of accounts'.
Please suggest,  (the Chart of accounts has been copied)
    thanks

    hi,
the chart of accounts are three types
    1.operating chart of accounts
    2.Country chart of accounts
    3.group chart of accounts
Charts of accounts can have three different functions in the system:
    Operating chart of accounts
The operating chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts that you use for posting in your company code during daily activities. Financial Accounting and Controlling both use this chart of accounts.
You have to assign an operating chart of accounts to a company code.
    Group chart of accounts
The group chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts that are used by the entire corporate group. This allows the company to provide reports for the entire corporate group.
The assigning of an corporate group chart of accounts to a company code is optional.
    Country-specific chart of accounts
The country-specific chart of accounts contains the G/L accounts needed to meet the country's legal requirements. This allows you to provide statements for the country's legal requirements.
The assigning of an country-specific chart of accounts to a company code is optional.
    Use
You can enter a group account number as additional information in the G/L accounts of the chart of accounts you are using. The system checks whether the group account number exists in the corporate chart of accounts.
    Example
If the structure of the chart of accounts is predetermined by national legal requirements, you can define a corporate chart of accounts. All accounts receive a group account number which is the same for all accounts of that particular type in various different charts of accounts.
For consolidation purposes, you can define the balance sheet and P+L by using group account numbers, i.e. they do not need to be defined differently per country.
path - spro -img - financial accounting - general ledger accounting - master data - g/l accounts - preparation - Edit chart of accoun list ( OB13 )
t.code ob13 matain chart of accounts under u will matain Group chart of accounts
    1.define account groups obd4
t.code ob62 assign ur chart of accounts ur company code
Accounting -> Financial accounting -> General ledger -> Information system -> General Ledger Reports -> Master Data -> -> Chart of Accounts Chart of Accounts.
    Description
The Chart of Accounts program is used to display G/L account master data which is not specific to the company code and print out G/L account lists. You can use it for informational and documentation purposes.
    Output
You can specify selection criteria to limit the number of G/L accounts printed.
The system displays the G/L account number and long text first. Double-click an account in the list to display additional master data that is not specific to the company code.

  • Posting in group chart of accounts

    Hello,
I have assigned a group of chart of accounts to my operating chart of accounts and mapped the group GL account number in the operating GL account master.
All the doc types and number ranges are duly defined and assigned.
MY issue is when I post to GL account(in op.chart of accounts) the entry is not posted to group account.
So my question is doesn't the  posting happen automatically to the group account when entry is posted to the GL in op.chart of accounts or should I run any programme to consolidate or is there any config steps I missed ?
    Anil

    Hi,
Group Chart of accounts or Country Chart of accounts will never have separate postings to GL.
These are for reporting purpose only.
If you mapped your group account number / country account number with the operational GL account number, then you use use them in GL balances reporting only.
Ex: While running S_ALR_87012279 - Structured Account Balances, you need to enter a chart of accounts in the selection screen. So here if you enter the group chart of accounts key, then the report will replace the operational GL account number with group account number in the output. Same will be appilicable in case of country chart of accounts are used.
    This will clear your doubt.
    Thanks,
    Srinu
