Free Goods being delivered when shouldn't be!!

Hi All
I have a problem and I need some help.  To explain it easier I have outline the scenario below:
Free goods (discount type NA00) has been set up for customer Y, sales org 1000 and distribution chanel 12 though VBN1.   It is an exclusive free good so that when item A is purchased they receive item B free.  The "Free goods delivery control" has been set to B - Delivery only when main item is fully delivered.
Item A currently does not have stock and stock will not arrive until 30 September while item B already has stock in the warehouse.
Even though we have the setting B indicated for the delivery control, a delivery document can still be created.  When creating the delivery an information (green) message indicating  "Free goods group not complete" appears prior to creation (VL261) but you can still create the delivery for the free goods item only (item B).
I have tried indicating item A as complete delivery in the sales order but the same happens.  Also I am unable to create a delivery group for the item in the sales order so that ones out as well.
Does anyone know a way that we can stop this from happening so that item A and B are ALLWAYS delivered at the same time or item B can only be delivered after item A has been delivered.
Is there a way that we can change the message from an information (green) message to an error (red) message?
The customer does not want to customise their system through ABAP which will be maintained by SAP in later releases. They want to do the least amount of ABAP and stick with configuration where possible.
Cheers
Tammy

Hi,
See as your stock is not available for the item A then give the delivery block to item B.
So that it will be not open for the delivery. This is the one way which you can do it.
Now your stock for item A will available from 30sept but i donu2019t know whether this situation will happen other month also or not.
So other this you can do is change the material availability date of the item B also.
So if you change that setting and make is similar to your item A then also you can solve your problem.
Like giving the pick pack time or loading time to the item B which will increase the material availability date of your item.
But for one time issue you should use delivery block.
And if its occurring every month then change the availability date of your item B.

Raj.

  • Free goods price discount when free goods are not required  by customer

    Hi
In a promotional activity for purchase of 10 items 2 free goods (which are different) have been determined, which is exclusive.
The customer wishes not to take the free goods and asks for a discount equivalent to the value of free goods, please advise on steps to be undertaken in this scenario.

Why dont u use "Pricing For Inclusive Free Goods Without Item Generation"
To do this, you can use the standard condition type NRAB. It is set up as follows:
It does not determine the discount from the condition record. It uses condition basis formula 029 in the pricing procedure to determine a discount from the free goods factor.
The condition receives the new pricing requirement 059 in the pricing procedure. This requirement checks whether free goods have already been determined.
The condition type receives condition category f. This condition category ensures that the condition is redetermined every time the quantity is changed, since this can also mean a change to the free goods quantity.
Hope this helps & Rewrad if does

  • GATP in APO and Free Goods Pricing Records in R/3

We have set up Free Goods in SAP R/3. These free goods are granted based upon a series of access sequences in pricing.
We also have our Order Entry system using GATP on our APO box. In that APO instance, we have set up a large number of product substitutions to occur at order time.
When an item is ordered that is NOT subbed to different item by APO and that item has Free Goods associated with it, the Free Goods are granted by R/3 and placed onto the sales order.
When an item is ordered that IS subbed to different item by APO and that item has Free Goods associated with it, the Free Goods are NOT granted by R/3.
Why are the Free Goods being ignored after the substitution? We have Free Goods records in pricing for BOTH items, and neither one is granting the Free Goods.
Is this a bug, a feature, or an oversight ?
Any help in this area will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

    Hi John,
GATP in APO does not supports Free Goods.

  • Free goods return

    Hi,
I have a typical problem while doing return of free goods.
I made copy control settings from billing to order (free goods invoice into returns order),  it is working ok untill this time ,  it is copying all the free of charge items into returns order from the referenced invoice as it is.
    1) As the customer returned freegoods the returned order also should have zero pricing and zero credit note billing.
But in the returns order it is determining the returns order pricing procedure with value, but the business does not want this way.
2} I also did in a different way this time in the copy control (billing to order) to reprice the pricing elements - now after this it picked up correctly the exact price conditions as it is from the free invoice  into return order with net value of the order becoming ZERO.  But as the item category determined was that of the returns,  it gave net value zero in the incompletion error for the order and could not move forward.
    3) I did in one more way,  In the item category determination for the returns order type - I gave the 'free goods item category' as Mnlcategory apart from the returns item category being the default. After this I went and changed the determined return item category in the sales order to that of free goods item category manually. After this automatically
the pricing got changed to that of free goods pricing procedure. But after this the return order does not go to delivery at all saying order is not relevant for delivery. So this solution does not work.
So can you please suggest me how this requirement can be achieved ?
Hope I am clear if not you can get clarified again.
    Regards,
    Murali

    Hi,
This may be fine for this case,  but as explained earlier the same item category is being used when you are doing the normal returns without any reference (stand alone returns).
So how this will tackle if you remove the pricing indicator totally?  I need to complete the return order as usual but with zero pricing- only when it is referred to free goods invoice and when stand alone returns (or) when referred to F2 value invoice, in these cases the returns will be with value.
Please get back to me with your answers.

  • Stock validation of main position in Free Goods Determination

    Good afternoon,
We are using Free Goods determination, but we are having a problem when there is no available stock in the main position, SAP is determining quantities of Free Goods; what we want is customize in SPRO to obligate that only we can generate Free Goods if there is enough stock in the main position.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
This can be controlled effectively in delivery. There is a filed
free goods delivery control in free goods determination which controls the free goods in delivery.
The rules which can be maintiaed are:
Blank : Independently of the main item
Free goods are processed fully independently.
A : only if the main item has been partially delivered The free goods are delivered only if at least part of the   required sales material will, or has already been, delivered.
B : Only if the main item is partially delivered and the free goods are contained in the same delivery.
Free goods are only delivered if at least part of the material sold is delivered or has already been delivered and if the material sold is in the current delivery.
C: only if the main item has been partially delivered, only with main item.
The free goods are delivered only if at least part of the required sales material will, or has already been, delivered.
D: as a proportion to quantity the main item
The free goods are supplied as a proportionate quantity in relation to the delivered quantity of the order item.
But I don't think it is possible to have a control in the sales order to make availability of free goods depends on the maint item. But you can try with delivery group also.

  • Free Goods Scenario..

    Hello everyone,
    I am testing one scenario..
    please guide me..
in xk02 i have activated "Grand Discount in Kind"
in MM02 purchasing view i have entered Qual for Free good dis as "1".
i have maintained the purchasing info record also in MBN1/MBN2.
and I have done spro settings also..SPRO...Materials Management...Purchasing...Discount in Kind (Discount in Form of Bonus Goods)....Define And Assign Discount-in-Kind Schema....Determine Free Goods Schema.
and when I am creating the PO Free goods are not coming..
I m not able to figure out..how this process run..whether the free goods come in 2 line item or how are they managed and at what stage they are displayed...?
    has anybody run this scenario....?
    thanks in advance..

    Hi,
Free goods can be worked in two ways:
1.With Free Goods indicator set in PO ,all PO quantities will be free of cost.
2.With some discount like if you place PO for 100nos, 10nos are free.Ok,.
For this you need to do customisation:
Set discount in kind indicator in MMR in purchasing view.and in vendor master record.
Maintain customisation...MM-->Purchasing->Discount in kind----> same as pricing procedure..Maintain it.
Maintain inforecord. For conditions enter the values ..or quantities that vendor gives free of cost.
Then create PO. just c the difference.
    Work out this one..
Hope this will help and clear .

  • Re: Free Goods Determination

    Hi all
I am currently trying the work on Inclusive free goods determination.
Currently if a customer orders 4 items he gets billed only for 3.
So i have setup a condition as:
    Material/Min q/from/unit/are free goods/unit for free good/calc. rule/free goods category/FGDelvCond/
    Mat.A/--1/4/-EA/1/EA/2---/1/ -blank/
    I have 2 questions:
    1) when i keep the free goods category as 1 - (inclusive with item generation), another item getss added with item category tann. this seems quite logical. But when I keep it as 3 - (inclusive rebate without item generation: only for sales). In this case no item is added & also all the 4 items are priced.
Can anyone explain what is the result of using free goods category = 3, & when is it used.
(Note: the pricing procedure is having R100 with req=55,Bastyp=28)
    2) I wanted to know if what i think is correct. the item category determination for free goods is happening due to the following assignment present in the system:
Order typ/Itm Cat. Grp/Usage/H.Lvl. Itm Cat./Default. Itm. cat
    -OR/NORM/-blank-/--blank--/TAN--
    -OR/NORM/-blank-/--TAN--/--TANN--
Finally my actual motive is to use free goods determination for a configurable item. So does the same concept apply for configurable items(0002 - item cat grp & item category - TAC) ?
    Thanks
    Vinit

    Hi
Suppose for e.g take a pen if it is priced Rs 10 and if you apply Free for that take10%
    Exclusive means 10 +1 free
means in your sales order ther will be 2 line items one with TAN for 10 units and another one with TANN with one unit
first it will be 10 qty which will be priced each Rs 10 and total will be 100
second will be 1 qty which is free
By paying Rs 100 we will get 11 pieces here
Inclusive means 9 + 1free ( free item is included in the order qty)
means in your sales order ther will be 2 line items first it will be 9 qty which will be priced each Rs 10 and total will be 90 second will be 1 qty which is free
In both these cases there will be two line items will get generated in sales document
first will be chargeable item with item category TAN
The second will be item category TANN
By paying Rs 90 we will get 10 pieces here
Both this inclusive and exclusive are picked by R100 condition type
    Now coming to NARB
Means free goods inclusive without item generation
Means in your sales order there will be only 1 items with qty 10 the free goode cost will be distributed among the whole of qty 10
Means the order value will be RS 90 only
There will not be any extra item generated with TANN
Here also by paying Rs 90 we will get 10 pieces
But  there will be only one line item in sales order
Ultimately inclusive and inclusive without item generation the nett effect is the same_Hope this answers your point_
For first two cases we use condition type R 100 with requirement 55 and alternate base value 28
Inclusive and exclusive are picked by R100
For the third case we use condition type NRAB with requirement 59 and alternate base value 29
Inclusive without item generation is picked by NRAB
The basic difference between R100 (inclusive or exclusive) and NRAB (inclusive without item generation) is with R100 you will find 2 line items in a sales order TAN and TANN and with NRAB you will find only one line item in sales order that is TAN and there wont be TANN
While creating condition record in VBN1 there is a control on left top which tells inclusive or exclusive
Actually you have to choose exclusive here to do NRAB
In the line item while creating condition records you need to specify whether inclusive/exclusive/inclusive without item generation at a column
Here you need to specify inclusive without item generation
Actually what you specify here that is in the line item inclusive or exclusive or inclusive without item generation takes the control in the sales order
If in the left top if it is exclusive you have to choose inclusive or inclusive without item generation in the line item
If in the left top if it is inclusive you have to choose exclusive in the line item
If you understand and practise the concept will be clear to you
I have tried to explain you to the best of my ability and if you reply after understanding this will give a lot of satisfaction to me
    For your qn no 2
One way of determining free goods is thro item cat determination as you mentioned
Another way is thro maintaining condition records in VBN1 and doing the entire free goods customization in spro
Constraints in free goods in R3 taken from SAP library
Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: u2018With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of chargeu2018 or u2018If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of chargeu2018.
Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix.

  • Free Goods error

    Hello Friends,
I have searched the forum before posting this question, however could not find the relevant post. Sorry if itu2019s already been discussed earlier. My requirement is simple. We have only one condition type (say ABC), access sequence (ABC) for free goods. So far we have 3 condition tables which are assigned to access sequence. Now  we have to make the configuration to let a new sales org (say 123) to use free goods. But this sales org needs new condition table to meet their requirements.
The following steps I have done so far.
    1.     Maintained field catalog (I have imported a new field (say condition group)
    2.     Created a new condition table (say 777) with the combination of sales org, dist.chn, condition group and material fields. I have generated the table.
    3.     I have assigned condition table 777 to access sequence ABC.
    4.     No need to maintain condition types as I am using the existing condition type ABC. (as you all know access seq. ABC is already assigned to condition type ABC)
    5.     No need to maintain pricing procedure as condition table ABC already assigned to pricing procedure (say ZABC01)
    6.     Activated Free Goods Determination for sales org 123.
    7.     Created the records for free goods in VBN1 with the key combination of fields in table 777.
    8.     I made sure the condition group field is filled in customer master.
After doing the above steps I tried to create a sales order, but the system is not generating free goods item.  When I create a records (in VBN1) for already existing table (not 777) free line item is generating by the system. That means free goods successfully activated for sales org 123. I must have missed something in the above configuration points. Can anyone throw some light on it.
    Br, Sats.

    Hi Damu & Kapil,
Checked the free goods analysis. It says:
    Access       Message         Description
30             102        Access not made (initialized field)
    Access (complete)
    Sales org.      123
    Dist. Ch.     XX
Condition group    ==>  no value here. This symbol with yellow background
    Material             12345
The necessary condition group value was missing here. What could that mean?  But when I see the condition record in VBN3 it is available during this validity period. Could you please tell me how to fix this.

  • Free Goods additional Material

    Dear Friends
    In Free Goods when
                                   Order material = A
                                    Free Goods = B
                                    Free Goods=C
How we will configure this scenario in Sap
    Thanking to All
    Arun

    Hi
In Standard SAP when material A is bought material B can be given free
This configuration is possible by exclusive free goods determination
But  when material A is bought  both material B and  material C cannot  be given free at a time
This is not possible in standard SAP
    Business example
When 10 pens are bought either 1 pen  ( same material A ) or 1 pencil  ( material B ) or 1 rubber ( material C ) can be given free in standard SAP at a tme
But all together at a time is not possible
It can be either one of these in Standard SAP R3
In IS RETAIL this scenario is possible

  • Pro Rata Free Goods in Return Sales Order

    Hi,
I would like to know if the system can automatically propose the Free Goods in the return sales order when created with reference to the billing document.
    The Billing Document has a
    Main Line Item -- 100
    Free Goods    --   10
and when a returns sales order is created with reference to the above billling document, the system displays both the above line items in the returns order and if the customer is returning only 50 the requirement is the system must automatically propose 5 free goods once the mail line item quantity is changed by the user.
    Regards
    PJ.

Kindly let us know how you are giving free goods manually or you are using MATERIAL INCLUSIVE OR EXCLUSIVE
If you are doing it manually then in return order it will not determine it
If you are using MATERIAL INCLUSIVE OR EXCLUSIVE then it should determine automatically
*Free goods - In SAP there are two types Exclusive and Inclusive.*
Exclusive - Buy 100 and get 10 free. This means you have to buy minimum 100 pieces then on that you will get 10 piece absolutely free.
Inclusive - Buy 100 get 10 free. In this case it means you are paying for only 90 item and the other 10 item is absolutely free.
    Configuration:
IMG - Sales & Distribution - Basic Functions - Free Goods - condition technique for free goods -
    1. create the condition table.
    2. maintain access sequence and assign the condition table to the access sequence.
    3. maintain condition type and assign the access sequence to the condition type.
    4. maintain the procedure for free goods and assign the condition type to the free goods procedure.
    5. Activate free goods determination. In this enter sales org., dis channel, division , docu pri pro, cust pri pro and the free goods procedure.
    6. now go to VBN1 - create free goods determination. Select your condition type, key combination and enter. Here you enter sales org, dis channel, customer no., Valid from and Valid to dates. Then you first select whether it is exclusive or inclusive free goods determination. By default it will be inclusive if you click on exclusive it will become exclusive and on top it will display inclusive. Here you enter minimum quantity for free goods and from what order quantity the number of free goods. You can control the delivery also in the second last column(free goods delivery control).
Save the record. Go to VA01 create the sales order , enter the item and the minimum quantity for free goods to be applicable and observe the results.

  • Multiple free goods determination for one item

    Hi All
I have a requirement in free goods functionality as explained below:
When one product is purchased, system should propose 2 or 3 products as free goods.
But as per standard SAP, only one free item is possible (it is either an Exclusive or Inclusive).
I would request you all to provide some ideas to full fill this requirement.
A quick reply is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance
    Madhu

    Hi,
    Usage of Calculation Types
You can use calculation types to define that certain free goods are granted when a particular quantity of products is ordered. If, however, a customer orders a lesser or greater quantity than the defined quantity, you can determine which free goods should be granted by selecting from the types provided by default.
The following types, which you can define in the master data, are provided by default:
    ●      Type 1: Proportionate, that is, percentage calculation of free goods
    ●      Type 2: Unit-related
    ●      Type 3: Only for whole units
You grant 10 notebooks as free goods for an order of 100 notebooks. A customer orders 150 notebooks.
    ■       With type 1 the customer would receive 15 notebooks free of charge
    ■       With type 2 the customer would only receive 10 notebooks free of charge
    ■       With type 3 the customer would not receive free goods

  • Return Order against Free Goods.

    Dear All,
We have raised one Invoice with Free Goods (Item Category TANN), while creating return order, if we delete main line item i.e zero quantity line item then all lines of Free Goods (RENN) is deleting,
please advice us how we can take return against Free Goods.
    Thanks
    Prashant

    HI,
As i understand you want to return the free goods which delivered through BOM material via sales order.
the behavior of the system you mentioned is because of item category determination for BOM materail. the main item with the zero quantity must be the higher level item.
to return this free goods you need to delet all line items from the return order and then manualy add the free goods item and change the item category to TANN.
