Free (java-based) LDAP server for Windows

Hello,
I am experimenting with JNDI. Can anyone tell me if there is a free LDAP server for Windows that I could use to run JNDI examples.

Attached is may slapd.conf file I used while I was working through the JNDI tutorial. You can find any comments in the original config file - I deleted them in the attachment.
Do not forget to create the directory 'openldap-ldbm' manually in the apropriate place as defined in the config file.

We are in a project that uses Sun Java System Messaging Server on Windows xp platform. But we didn't find the software download.
Please tell how can i have that software?

Messaging Server 6.x has never been released for Windows. A windows release is projected for the future, but that may be months away.
Messaing 6.1 is available NOW for Redhat Linux AS2.1 u2 and Solaris X86. I have installed both, and find them both good.

Where can I download a copy of the uncertified windows version of the app server listed below?
OracleAS Java Edition v9.0.4

Currently certified: Solaris, HP, Linux
(I am not interested in the 10.0.3 preview version of the app server)
I went to the Production release download area for the Application Server and they only let you download the Certified version of this SW which is for Linux, HP, and Linux.
I went to the Pre-release download area and they only have the 10.0.3 preview versions listed for download.
We want to install the above-mentioned version of an intel box running Windows for our integration point and we have linux boxes setup for production. We would like to use the same version of the app servers on all 3.
Any ideas out there?

Go into
Applications / Utilities / Java Preferences.app
and make sure you have the 'Enabled' boxes checked for both 64 and 32-bit.
Finally, in
Safari > Preferences | Security
make sure the 'Enable Java' box is checked.

What is happening about Java System Identity Synchronization for Windows

I have been playing with "Java System Identity Synchronization for Windows" for a while now. I am about to swich over to is 100%, but I am worried that the latest version is "Windows 1 2004Q3".
Has any one got any ideas about this. The product sort of works, and is much smaller that going for the whole "Java System Identity Management Suite 2005Q4" which is way to big and complicated for our and I think many people.
Don't forget Microsoft have now release its own tools to do this in the latest Windows 2003 SP.

Mail Server for windows...

Is there any free mail server for windows that i could use to send emails from my application..
Its just that I have been trying the JavaMail Api and having no luck, despite help from some of you.
And my deadline is closing in and I am no closer to the solution...
There has to be a fast and simple way to send a simple email automatically...anyone know it?

I am in college and can use the mail server here no problem...its name is "gabriel.ul.ie", anyone know have any sample code for sending mail, and i could try this with this mailhost...

Sun Java System Application Server for Mac OS X ?

does anybody know if (any given date ?) sun is planning to offer a distribution of its sun java system application server for mac os x ? or even better: any ideas on how to install a currently available version on mac os x 10.4 ? the linux bin seems not to be readable.

As you noticed, standalone MacOS distribution of application server is currently not available, but what you can do is to download NetBeans with J2EE bundle or Creator (for free) and install bundled Application Server on this platform. Download URLs are:

Also, you can install and run Glassfish (which is open-source version of upcoming Application Server 9.0) on MacOS X:

HTTP Server for Windows 64 bit not on the companion CD

Hi,
I cannot find the HTTP Server for Windows 64 bit on the companion CD. Any idea where I can get it from? For the 32bit version the HTTP Server is on the Companion CD.

If i am correct reason should be : Oracle Application Server 10g will run as a 32-bit application
Following platforms have the same media in either case:
Microsoft Windows 32-bit and EM64T/AMD64
(Not Itanium-64, which is separate and referred to as "Windows 64-bit")
Linux x86 and Linux x86-64
Solaris Sparc 32-bit and Solaris Sparc 64-bit
As the Oracle Application Server 10g will be run as a 32-bit application. See the Installation Guide or readme files for any specific steps on these 64-bit platforms.

How do i Install the Software Update Server for Windows 7? I get an error saying: Can't Install the Software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
I downloaded the software so How do I install it?
Do I install it all over again or when I have windows open?
I am using Bootcamp.

Back up your system drive completely. If you have no backup plan in place, now would be a good time to start. You can use CarbonCopyCloner to make a complete, bootable backup of your system on another drive or volume. After you have done this: download the combo update using the link supplied by Niel and run the installer.

Using external LDAP server for WL JNDI lookups

I'm trying to find out if it is possible to re-direct JNDI calls to the WL
server to an external LDAP server. I know you can install an external LDAP
server for security purposes, but I would like to use an external LDAP
server to handle all JNDI lookups (like for JNDI EJB name location, etc.).
Is this possible?

You typically need to use our JNDI store. We strongly recommend this for
performance reasons..
You can use the JNDI To LDAP bridge which is available from the sun web
site.

I'm looking for someone who has used the Lotus LDAP server for WLP7
authentication.
I connect my portal to the Domino LDAP, User and Groups are working
fine, but the membership of a user to a group is not.
I assume that it's related to the parameters I use (especially the
membership.filter ?):

Audit Vault server for Windows?

Forgive my ignorance, is there a version of Audit Vault Server for Windows? I haven't been able to find a link for it, just for the Agent.
