Frequency of attributes countable?

Hi,
we want to find out the frequency of an attribut in our variable data.
For example,we upload the name of a customer, the sales and the invoice number. Is it possible to give out the name and the number of invoices the customer has received to create a  nice chart with these data?
Thanks

Hi,
i got half solution for it.
try out this:
i assume u have ProductID,Selling time and date, invoice number and CustomerId in rows and Quantity in columns.
chars should be in the following sequence in rows.
1. Invoice number
in properties, set Suppress result rows always/never and no normalization.
enable sort order,by 'key' in ascending/descending order.
2.Customer ID  ( or ProductID )
but set Suppress result rows 'never' .
3.ProductID
Suppress result rows 'always'
4......
for all remaining Suppress result rows should be set to 'always'.
Then in columns-Keyfigures structure, create a formula (Quantity>=0). and set 'Calculate result as'  'nothing defined'. (here i assume if there is no Qty,then no invoice)
after Executing Query u will get 'Report result' rows (sub result rows).and values as '1'.
here the no subresult rows are no of same invoice numbers.
for ex:if u have 4 subresult rows (yellow color rows),it means u have 4 invoices.
i dont know how to count these subresult rows...if u can count these subresult rows (result rows)....then its over...
hope this helps.

  • ADK - Keeping EIS Connections Alive

    Hi,
I am using the ADK that comes with WL 8.1 SP3. The challenge I am facing is to keep my connections alive while there is no activity (at the TCP/IP socket level) between the app server and the EIS.
The EIS closes any sockets after 30 minutes of inactivity causing the connections to go into CLOSE_WAIT state.
Is there any method I can use within the connector to keep pinging the server and make sure these connections have TCP/IP traffic?
Has anyone used the <test-frequency-seconds> weblogic-ra.xml? What is its purpose? pinging?
              Appreciate your insight..

    Hi
I have a requirement, which is some what similar to what is mentioned above.
I too have to ping the interface at regular intervals to keep the connection alive. I also assumed that, we can use the test-frequency-seconds attribute. But for that to work, we have to implement the interface, http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/api/javax/resource/spi/ValidatingManagedConnectionFactory.html, which is there only from weblogic 9.
But since our client is using weblogic 8.1, we are tied to that version.
Can anyone please assist in solving this.

  • HELP! Second time...Some attributes of one or more of the files.

I allready post this question in the morning, but got no answer.
I want to know if someone have had this problem before.
Maibe I didn't explain myself well, please let me know if you understand what is the problem I am having. I really need to sove this, I have more than 60 hours of material allready captured and I can't start editing until I solve this problem. I am working with two G5s and I have the same error in both of them.
Here is the question again with some corrections to see if you guys undestand me:
I am batch capturing a HUGE project that I logged on FCP 4.5, I am now working with FCP5. I have captured arround 70 hours of material. In some cases I captured the clips but it shows the clip as if it was offline. When I try to reconect the media the following mesage shows up:
"Some attributes of one or more of the files you hace chosen do not match the attributes of the original. This may cause problems within the sequence that are dependent on them. The attributes that differed are the follows:
    - Media start and end
Would you like to try to connect them again?"
    What does this mean?
I do not have any sequence yet, am I going to have future problems with the sequence in the project?
    PLEASE HELP!!!!!
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Jorge

I haven't found an answer to this yet and wish I could give advice.
However, I'm looking for it. And if you find anything - we'd love to know.
I've got a very large progect - all the media was manually copied over (via the finder) to external lacie FW drives which were brought here to another satellite editing room. I recieve updated projects from the primary edit and relink the media - The audio files have tended to 'mismatch' when I reconnect the updates. And it appears this is increasing in frequency each time! (I relink to each new version of the project which is sent).
At this point it seems all the audio files bring up the same "File Attribute Mismatch" window. Only in certain sections of the sequence is the audio out of sync (to a variable degree +/- 5 to 7 frames).
This occours when I replicate the workflow on another machine.
This does NOT happen when I've sent the projects back to the original edit suite - which has the original media. The reconnection is fine.
So it appears this might be due to the media itself - and possibly when it was copied over.
But I can't yet figure out why this problem appears to be increasing, occouring with more audio files.
If anyone has any ideas to this - which sounds very similar to the original issue on this thread - we'd be obliged to reciprocate the help!

  • How to measure two frequency simultaniously in a PCI 6014

Hi I am measuring RPM of two gear drives by measuring the pulse/second(Measure frequency.vi). I have interlinked the gate of counter1 to the output of counter2. Similarly I have connected the gate of counter2 to output of counter1. to measure frequency.
This way in a cycle one counter acts as gate counter while the other counter counts and later the counters changes their role. But my problem is that I have to measure the two counters frequencies simultaniously.
I cannot do period measurement becasue I have several irregular pulse widths generated in each cycle.
I am currrently experimenting with mesure period(DAQ-STC).vi. I have the following doubts in this VI.
1)Can I replaced source configuration fr
om internal timebase to external PFI source signal.
2)If I replace my source signal from internal timebase to the pulse generated from my gear drive then would at the end of 1 sec (when the counter is disarmed due to change of trigger signal state and hence end of while loop) will the count attribute contain the count of my ttl edges?
    3) Would this be a accurate method for measuring frequency simultanuiously without using two counters?
    Thanks.

    Hi balajkasthuri,
The best way to perform this is to use the frequency generator (freqout) of your 601x board. Your board only has 2 counters but it also has a frequency generator that doesn't use the counters. It is an output found on the freqout pin. You can choose to have a frequency of 10 MHz or 100 kHz divided by any integer between 1 and 16. This means you can create a pulse train of known frequency and known period and use that into the source or gate of your two counters depending on the frequency measurement method you are using.
For example, assuming your two signals are much faster than the freqout signal, you can apply the freqout signal to the gate of a counter and have your signal feed the source. The number of counts you get in 1 pulse
width of the gate (which is known since it is the frequency you generated) will determine the frequency of your signal.
Otherwise, if your signal is much slower than 20 MHz, you can simply use the 20 MHz as the source of the counters and perform a simple period measurement on your signal. You would then take the inverse of your period measurement.
Anyway, using the onboard frequency generator will give you the flexibility you need. I have linked below a useful tutorial describing the 3 typical frequency measurements. Hope that helps. Have a good day.

  • How to change the frequency of pulse train on the fly using an array of values?

    Hi all!
First I want to thank U for the great job you are doing for this forum.
Iam still busy trying to control a stepper motor, by sending pulses from my E-series 6024 to a compumotor s6- stepper Driver. I've managed to get it working. I desperately need to control the motor using the values from an array. I believe we can use two approaches for that:
1st - I can get an array of the "numbers of pulses". Each element must run for 10 milliseconds. Using that we can calculate the array of frequencies to send the number of pulses within 10 milliseconds for each specific element. Could we use the arrays of "number of pulses" and frequencies in a "finite pulse train " and up
date with each element every 10 millisecond?
2nd - Or Could we use of the frequency array in a "continuous pulse train vi" and update it every 10 milliseconds?
Please note that I must use the values as they are.
Can someone please built a good example for me? Your help will be appreciated.
    Regards
    Chris

    Tiano,
I will try to better explain the paragraph on LabVIEW. The original paragraph reads ...
"While in a loop for continuous pulse train generation, make two calls to Counter Set Attribute.vi to set the values for "pulse spec 1" (constant 14) and "pulse spec 2" (constant 15). Following these calls you would make a call to Counter Control.vi with the control code set to "switch cycle" (constant 7). The attached LabVIEW programs demonstrate this flow."
You can make two calls to Counter Set Attribute or you can make a call to Set Pulse Specs which, if you open this VI, you will see that it is just making two calls to Counter Set Attribute. What you are doing with the Counter Set Attribute VIs is setting two registers called "pulse s
pec 1" and "pulse spec 2". These two registers are used to configure the frequency and duty cycle of your output frequency.
The example program which is attached to this Knowledge Base demonstrates how to change the frequency of a continuous generation on the fly. Why continuous? Because changing the frequency of a finite train would be easy. When the train completes it's finite generation you would just change the frequency and run a finite train again. You would not care about the time delay due to reconfiguration of the counter.
If you would like to change the frequency of the pulse train using a knob, this functionality will have to be added in the while loop. The while loop will be continuously checking for the new value of the knob and using the knob value to set the pulse specs.
LabVIEW is a language, and as with learning all new languages (spoken or programatic) there is a lot of learning to be accomplished. The great thing is that LabVIEW is much easier than mo
st languages and the learning curve should be much smaller. Don't fret, you'll be an expert before you know it. Especially since you're tackling a challenging first project.

  • Ni 5122: Use of functions that manipulate attributes in NISCOPE

    HI, all
I would like to first thank  Alan L for responding to my last message. It was helpful.
I am currently using ni 5122 in sampling data sets and EACH set consists of  400 triggered records
and each record contains 1024 points (So this 1024 X 400 matrix will constitute a single image).
The sampling rate is 33 Mhz(There is a reason for choosing this sampling frequency, plz do not
suggest me to increase the sampling frequency as a solution).
Since the trigger occurs at 10 KHz, it will take 40 milliseconds to acquire
a data set which corresponds to a single frame of image.
I am trying to configure my program ( I am using VC++) such a way that I fetch the data
from on-board memory of digitizer to main memory of host computer and  perform DSP
on each triggered record while sampling rather than waiting for the entire data set (1024 X 400) to be collected.
The frequency of the trigger signal is 10 kHz, meaning that I have 100 usec for each triggered
record. Since I am using approximately 31 usec to sample the data, I have about 69 usec of idling
period bewteen each triggered record. So, I have attempted to utilize those idling period.
I have looked at "Acquiring data continuously" section of  "High Speed Digitizer Help" manual.
From there, I found out that I can fetch triggered records while sampling is still going on.
The manual suggests me to play with the following attributes.
    NISCOPE_ATTR_FETCH_RECORD_NUMBER
    NISCOPE_ATTR_FETCH_NUM_RECORDS
    with the family of
    niScope_SetAttributeXXX and niScope_GetAttributeXXX functions.
I have attempted to change value of those attributes but
    got the following error.
"The channel or repeated capability  name is not allowed." This error also occured
when I attempted to just READ! (The functions I mentioned above appear immediately
before niScope_InitiateAcquisition function in my prog.)
I have also looked at the accompanying c example codes to remedy this,
but found a strange thing in the code. Within the example which uses
niScope_SetAttributeViInt32, the parameter channelList is set to VI_NULL
    instead of "0", "1" or "0,1".  Why?
As I mentioned earlier, I can get a single frame of image every 40 millisec
( 25 frame/sec), if everything works as I planned.  Without fetching portion of
codes, my program currently generates about 20 frame/sec but when I include
the fetching codes, the frame rate decreases to 8 frame/sec.
If anybody has a better idea of reducing fetching time than the one I am using,
    please help me.
    Godspeed
    joon

I would like to thank you (Brooks W.)  for the reply.
I think I have stated that " 'my program'  generates 20 fps if fetching portion of code is omitted."  As I have mentioned earlier I am developing own app. S/W using VC++.
I am already using niScope_FetchBinary16 which you have suggested in your reply.
Here is a full disclosure of issues I am experiencing when fetching triggered records from 5122. I initially wrote a simple code which runs in int main() function and profiled the  time used to fetch data using niScope_FetchBinary16. The rate was  23.885714 million samples/sec. However, when I integrated the exact same piece of code to my Win32 app., the rate has gone down to 8.714891 million samples/sec. My PCI link is running at 33 Mhz so the PCI clearly has nothing to do with this problem
I have been looking through NI Discussion forum to find an answer for this and found a person (look at jim_monte's thread "Improving NI-SCOPE performance ") who is experiencing a similar kind of problem. He noticed while executing his program that what appears to be unnecessary DLLs are being loaded.
Is my problem caused by something that jim_monte suggests or do you have any other explanation to my issue?

  • Aviod frequency time-out in DAQmx

I'm trying to measure the frequency of a square-wave signal from a turbine flowmeter. The flowmeter is installed in a complex system of valves, pumps, and other sensors. I have created a main VI in LV 7 which controlls this system as well as acquires data from all the sensors (mostly attached to NI-DAQmx hardware). This Vi is basically a large while loop that operates continuously until the user terminates it. The flowmeter pulse is to be measured by a single counter on a 6061E board configured by NI-DAQmx single low frequency tasks.
I have configured the task in MAX with a hi limit of 5kHz and a low limit of whatever the default is for the 10kHz time base (I think around 0.02Hz) and connected the signal to PFI4 (for counter 1) a
s instructed. My flowmeter's frequency varies from 0 to 3kHz. Since my system's flow rate is zero upon start-up of my main VI, the frequency measurement task times out, producing an error message, shutting down the VI.
Is there any way to measure my flowmeter's signal without these time-out troubles? I can't seem to find any period or frequency measurement examples that allow the signal to go to zero without creating some sort of error.
    Thanks,
    Tom

You have two options. The first is to wire a -1 into the timeout input of the Read VI (see attached picture). This is equivalent to an infinite timeout and will cause the driver to poll the number of samples available for reading until the requested amount of data has been transferred. The driver does yield inside of this polling loop, but it may still utilize more CPU than desired for your application.
If CPU utilization becomes an issue, you can query the Available Samples Per Channel attribute in the Read Property node (see attached picture) in your while loop instead of directly calling the Read VI. Once the available samples has reached the desired threshold, you can call the Read VI without having to worry about timeouts or blocking waiting for da
ta. This will also allow you the opportunity to introduce a sleep time in your loop to reduce CPU utilization.

  • How to change the frequency of a finite pulse train?

Hi all? I Know I’ve asked once a similar question, but I need a better answer. I would like some ideas or examples on how to modify the example in LV; "Finite Pulse Train Generation - Intermediate for AM9513-Based Devices",so that the frequency can be changed while the VI is executing.

  • Job execution exceeds Job frequency

    Hi,
We have setup DBMS_SCHEDULER Job that is supposed to run every 5 minutes.
During each execution, Complex SQL gets executed.
We found on some rare occassions, Complex SQL exceeds 5 minutes to execute.
Would like to know how Oracle Scheduler (10gR2) handles this scenario:
Let us say we started first execution at 10:00 and Complex SQL is still executing at
    10:06. Have few questions:
    1)
What would happen at 10:05. Will Oracle attempt to launch second instance of
that query (Frequency=5 minutes) or would it not spawn second instance since
the Job started at 10:00 is still running?
    2)
Is there any possible way (or syntax) to instruct Oracle not to start second instance
    when one is already running.
Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
We are looking at improving SQL Performance, however would like to maintain Job Frequency
    at 5 minutes
    Thanks
    user641521

I know this type of question has been asked/answered in the last year on this forum but I can't find it right now. The quick answer is
    1) Oracle (by default) will not start a second instance of the Scheduler item if it is still running at 10:05. Oracle will wait for the 10:00 instance to finish before it runs the job that was scheduled at 10:05. It will wait up until 10:10 when it will then try to run the instance that is scheduled for 10:10. So this means your first instance could start at 10:00 and finish at 10:08 and then Oracle will start running the 10:05 instance at 10:08. You can limit this using the Scheduler attribute of schedule_limit. The lowest allowed value for this is 1 minute so you can set it and tell Oracle that after 1 minute of waiting on the 10:05 instance to run, give up on it and wait for the next scheduled occurrence (in your case 10:10)
    2) See answer to #1.

  • Invalid format for Marketing Attributes

    Hi colleagues,
I have marketing attributes of type NUM 5,2 which are causing erros of type Invalid Format.
I would like to know where do I change this configuration (path in SPRO/Cutomizing Implementation Guide) in CRM.
And If someone knows what type generally is used... it seems strange that standard validation is not accepting this...
    thanks,

Can you please let me know what is this 5,2? Is this a value for the attribute?
In the Attributes table, you can only mention the decimal place and in the value table you have to maintain the exact number of decimal places as you mentioned in the attributes.
    e.g.
if you create an attribute say "Frequency of Purchases", Format - Numeric Format, Decimal Places - 2, In that case, you have to maintain a values like 35,02 or 34,00 or 37,59 etc.
If you want to change the decimal separator say "," to ".", you can do it in CRM system, as follows
-login to CRM system using sapgui command
    -login with your credentials
-go to system->user profile-> own data or you can directly use the transaction SU3
-go to tab "Default" -> change the field "Decimal Notation" as per your liking.
For this you must have an authorization to change your data or ask your administrator to change the same.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to switch central frequency fastly with labview and USRP?

    Hello everybody,
Recently I was making a frequency hopping receiver with labview and USRP N210 and SBX. The transmitter works on the 2.4G band, and it changes from one central frequency to another every 65536us. As I think, if I start receiving at the correct time, and  change the central frequency of the USRP every 65536us, I should be able to receive the data.
But I find that, when usrp switch form one central frequency to a different one, it spends nearly 48ms and when it switch from one frequency to the same one, it only spends 3ms(I test the performance by modifying the niUSRP EX Rx Continuous Async Reconfig on the Fly.vi example). So if I want to follow the hopping sequency, I may can only receive 17ms data because I have to save time for switching central frequency.
My problem is that: why usrp changes central frequency so slow,  how can I make the process faster? If I want to follow the hopping sequency, can anybody give me some good advice? Thanks

There is an attribute "LO Frequency" that you can use to lock down the frequency of the local oscillator.  Then, when you set the "Carrier Frequency" attribute, the difference between the carrier frequency value and the LO frequency value will be realized by frequency shift in the DSP in the FPGA.  Changing this "digital" frequency shift value is much faster, since you don't have to re-tune the local oscillator.
Let's say you're sweeping from 2.44 GHz to 2.46 GHz.  Set the "LO Frequency" to 2.45 GHz then Commit.  Then, in your loop, program the "Carrier Frequency" attribute from 2.44 GHz to 2.46 GHz.  In the loop, it will only program the digital frequency shift, which will happen much faster.
Another tip is to use the property node to program only the attributes you want to change, rather than the niUSRP Configure Signal.vi (which sets many at once).
For more details, see the "Configuration:Advanced:LO Frequency Property" in the NI-USRP Help, and look at this example:
    <LabVIEW dir>\examples\instr\niUSRP\niUSRP EX Fine-Tune LO Frequency.vi

  • Frequency Generator query frequency output limitations

    Hello,
I would like to know if there is a way to query a frequency generator for the limitations of the output frequency that can be generated, using the C API. I have found documentation which clearly outlines the limitations of frequency output (min and max) for all devices supported by my current driver, but have yet to find a way to query these values from the driver and or the device itself. Is there such a method? or must I hard code these values into my program if I want to limit user input to the range of correct values for frequency?
    Thank you for your help

By limitations of the output frequency, do you mean specs related to jitter, phase misalignment, propagation delay, etc? That information is available on the cards spec sheet. I don't believe there are attributes in the driver that report that information. You can always write your own code that identifies a card by its model number, and looks up its specs in a file. The following attribute identifies a cards model number:

  • Treat as an attribute

    Hi,
I have a star schema in which a logical dimension table "client" is joined to a logical fact table "encounters". In many of my reports, I need to create pivot tables to perform the reverse calculations. For example, I need to treat the number of encounters, categorized into frequency intervals, and to count number of clients in the "client" dimension as measures. Here are my questions:
    1. Should I create a logical fact table that maps to the same physical table/alias as the "client" dimension table and make a logical join to the "client" dimension? Then, I create such columns as count(client_id) and total in that logical fact table.
    2. In presentation layer, can I treat the categorized measures (ex. number of encounters) as attribute in a pivot table?
This is urgent. I appreciate if anyone can help.
    Thanks.
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
If i understood your question correctly.
    1. Should I create a logical fact table that maps to the same physical table/alias as the "client" dimension table and make a logical join to the "client" dimension? Then, I create such columns as count(client_id) and total in that logical fact table. In the BMM layer if you have the dimension table as client and a fact table (if not drag them on to the BMM layer from physical layer) and in the fact table itself right click on it and "create new column" and in f(x)=count(client_id) and even total formula accordingly and aggregate them.
    2. In presentation layer, can I treat the categorized measures (ex. number of encounters) as attribute in a pivot table? You drag the tables from BMM layer to presentation layer and the show as attributes and In asnwers screen you can directly use them in pivot table.
