From the ground up help needed.
Here is the quick background. I think I may have bit off too much to chew but I took on the task of a project for work that required me to learn FCE in a week. I imported everything and edited everything to my liking. But here is my problem.
I just tried to export the file so that it can be used in iDVD, and well... it looks like crap. The text (which was created in LiveType)is pixely and the video is as well. I tried export a self contained video, and when I played it in QT is looked terrible. So I tried a non-self contained, and the same thing happened. This has to go on a big screen so I can't have that level of pixelization.
I was under the impression that it needed to be exported as a quicktime file to get the highest resolution. But is there a certain setting? Its only a 5 min video so I can crank up the resolution. There is no way I can max out the DVD.

Tom, thank you for your help, but please bear with my lack of knowledge as I mentioned, I have never done this before. To me format has always meant the type of file (mov vs. wmv ect) so I apologize. Within the quicktime info slot I found what I hope is the information you were asking for. The Kind is: Quicktime Movie, the codec is Integer (Little Endian). The size of the file is 8.7 GB which seems pretty large.
In my very un-knowledgeable opinion I think it may have something to do with LiveType. (Only b/c the video quality isn't nearly as bad as the text quality.) Now to clarify to my last post. I was not clear. I did indeed import the LiveType project files and that is what I have been working with all along. To your comment, I also didn't "export" per se from LiveType, I only saved the file and then "imported" the project. I specify the difference on the chance there is a procedural mistake I may have made. Yet, when I look at Project Properties within LiveType (of the text that when the fce qt file is rendered looks the worst) the preset and what I am assuming is the default, b/c I didn't change anything, it is set to CCIR 60 NTSC 40:27. Quality is set to normal for canvas and movie render if that means anything.
I know that my descriptions may be unhelpful for exactly what you need to assist me, however if you know there is a certain setting or data point you are wondering about I will help in anyway to get this project finished. Thank you for your help.

Have you guys been able to activate your iphone yet? I bought an iphone 4s from eBay and it worked fine, but the previous user had left some data on it, so last night I used the "erased all content and settings" to restore it to factory setting so I can start fresh and restore my backup. But now I'm stuck at the activation screen (I get the same "the activation server is temporarily unavailable") and can't get it to activate, even if I use my old deactivated AT&T sim card (I'm on straighttalk now).
I might try activating it with an active AT&T sim card from my fiancee's phone when she gets home, so I'll let you know how that works outs.

Had to remove itunes from my computer to reset the computer. Now I'm having problems syncing my iphone with the computer. Computer is saying it wants to download updates to the phone but that will delete things I downloaded straight from the phone. Help!
iTunes thinks you have a new computer because you restored the OS. Open iTunes and authorize it to the same account you have on the iPhone. Did you restore your iTunes content from a backup after resetting your computer? Have you been syncing regularly with the computer, and does the iTunes library on the computer contain your apps, music and videos? If so just sync and your content will be removed then restored.
If you have not hopefully you have now learned something. You can recover apps and purchased songs by connecting the phone, without syncing, and choose "Transfer purchases..." from the File menu. -

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

I want to configure my security so that every time i " buy" something from the app store it needs a password. Now the appstore remebers my password automatically a few minutes, and my kids buy in app without my knowledge.

I've read that because of the way they handle files, SSDs go slow over the time unless you apply protocols to handle the empty space. I noticed in a USB thumbdrive (Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 64GB) that ovet the time and use it went from speeds around 250mb/s to about 10, I formated (full format, not a quick erase) it and it again performs properly. I have a old iPhone 4 that became very very slow over the time, more than what I would expect from it not keeping up with iOS 7. Could it be happening something like this? Maybe formating it from the ground up would speed it up a bit (ultimately is the same kind of memory holding the OS).
Is there a way to format it like that?

It is possible to reset your iPhone back to its original settings using iTunes. See this article for the procedure -

I am going to reach out to the community here, and ask for some serious help. I am currently rebuilding my computer, and I have long fiddled and tweaked around, but I believe my knowledge is no match for some of you gurus out there.
I would like to ask if anyone would be interested in guiding me through the rebuild of this computer? Maybe just checking in now and then as it all comes together, or just helping answer some questions when you can? I have all the parts installed, and would just need your insight into tweaking the BIOS settings, etc. I know everyone's time is valuable, but if you would be willing to share some of your knowledge with me, I know I could return the favor by helping others when I can.

I will disable onboard sound, and the firewire ports as I won't need them. Also, I don't use any power managment stuff, so would disable that as well.

Well, thanks kindly for your consideration. If you would like to help, here are just a few starting questions I have:
What would be the best way (performance-wise) to configure the drives? Why? What is the difference between legacy mode vs. native mode? I think native mode is better, but why? Also, is there any benefit to NOT using the secondary IDE channel (will it save system resources under Windows XP Professional)?
Which PCI slot would provide the best performance/IRQ for the Soundblaster Audigy 2 card? (I think we want to avoid slots 2&5 because they are shared by default in the BIOS?). Also, would you manually change the PCI Slot IRQ priority (in the BIOS PNP/PCI Configuration menu)? I had problems last time with my sound card crackling, changing volume, and was advised by Creative to ensure the soundcard gets a completely dedicated, high-priority IRQ.
BIOS SETTING: APIC ACPI SCI IRQ = Enabled or Disabled? I have LONG been confused by this setting, and never know which setting yields better results. The manual reads: "This field is used to enable or disable the APIC (Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller). Due to compliance to PC2001 design guide, the system is able to run in APIC mode. Enabling APIC mode will expand available IRQs resources for the system" OK - but is that better, or worse? I thought you should always try to stick with original 15 IRQs, and hopefully pray for a miracle that each device gets assigned it's own IRQ (like the graphics card, sound card, etc.). If anyone could shed some light here, I would appreciate it.

Native mode opens up more IRQs for IDE controllers and SATA controllers thus preventing them from sharing and having conflicts among themselves.
There is no benefit on system resource if you leave IDE 2 controller alone instead you may get problems since you are putting a CDRW drive and a HDD on 1 single IDE controller and even CS them which isn't recommended. I always recommend HDDs and Optical drives to be seperated between the 2 IDE controllers if possible so that you'll not suffer "time lags" while you are burning a disc or browsing through a disc and having the need to access the HDDs at the same time. System resource usage is mostly dependent on the apps, core programs, dlls, system files and background access/running programs, so the more of these are running in systray and svchosts as well as program apps like Anti-Virus or firewall will definately take up a big chunk(around 35%) of the resource.
APIC ACPI SCI IRQ is mainly for system which are having problems with the traditionally assigned IRQs by the system. By switching this on, the system will try to give an assigned IRQ to the individual hardware found.
You can leave the last 2 to default.
1 thing I'm very concerned of is your PSU specs amps. The reason being that you are trying to power a PIV 2.8C GHz FSB 800MHz CPU + Aud 2 SB card + 6800GT GPU + ?MB RAMs and 1 raptor which will takes up quite an amount of power from your PSU continuously. It is better for you to post your PSU specs amps on the individual rails for us to verify. If you are wondering where to find the details, these info can be found on the label that sticks to the side/top of the PSU. -
New to the WRT300N - Firmware & help needed
Hi. First off, I apologize that this is going to be very long. I really hope someone will take the time to read it all and give me some help.
I posted about a week ago about problems with my WRT54GS. All of a sudden with no changes, the wireless stopped working. I tried for a few days to fix it with no luck. I decided to order the WRT300N (I figured if I was going to buy a new one, I'd upgrade and this is the one that Linksys recommended).
I should mention that after ordering the new router, the wireless on the old one started working again but it wasn't working normal. The signal quality had always pretty much been excellent and now it started going up & down but at least it was staying connected.
The new router came today. I disconnected the old one and connected the new one and everything went smoothly. Both my wired & wireless computers worked great. Less than an hour later, the wireless disconnected. I went to view available networks and my network (I use our last name) was gone. I shut off the laptop and it still didn't see the network. So I started looking at the router settings just to be sure that nothing had changed. About 15 minutes later, the laptop found the network and connected again. The signal quality dropped to good and has stayed there ever since.
Just for information, when the laptop is on the desk (which it is 90% of the time), it's only about 5 feet away from the router. I have not tried to take the laptop out of the room yet. Also more information if it helps. I have a large "U" shaped desk. My monitor for my desktop sits in the middle. On either side are the speakers. To my left (in front of me) is a UPS (plugged into this UPS is the tower, monitor, speakers, cradle for my mouse, modem & router), then the tower (I can't put it on the floor because I have physical issues that would prevent me from accessing it there). Now if I turn my chair to the left, the desk has an upper level. This is where my DSL modem & the router are. They are on the end near where the computer is on the lower level. This is the same setup we were using before. Old router worked great for almost 2 years with signal strength at excellant on the laptop. It just started acting up all of a sudden. If I go back to facing center and then turn to the right, that's where my husband's laptop sits. The only other equipment there is a calculator and a lamp and on the floor is another UPS which has his laptop (which has an Intel wireless G card in it), a laser printer, and the above mentioned calculator & lamp plugged in.
Prior to today, I had the Logitech MX3100 keyboard & mouse set. I had purchased a new mouse (Logitech MX Revolution). So I was using the keyboard from the MX3100 with the new mouse and everything was fine running that way for weeks before the problem kicked in. So I don't think it's got anything to do with the mouse. Today's setup is a little different. I am no longer using the MX3100 keyboard. I am using Logitech DiNovo Edge, which uses a bluetooth dongle. I also don't think it's any interference from this keyboard since this is a pre-existing problem.
I do have a cordless phone in the room (it's on the left hand side of the desk from where I sit at the opposite end from the modem & router...also it's one of those that doesn't need a phone line)but it's a 5.8 ghz.
The old router had the option to change the channel, etc. This one has auto for standard channel & wide channel & there's no way to change it that I can see. Radio band is also set to auto but does have 2 choices under it (standard & wide). As I said before, I use our last name for our SSID. It's the same one I've been using for years. There is no one else around here with that SSID. Network mode is mixed.
Concerning the firmware....the information for mine is WRT300N V1.1 firmware v1.51.2. I tried to look for an update but the only one in the list is the WRT300N V1.0. I did click on that but the firmware version is lower and I don't want to screw anything up. Is there a firmware update for me or not? If so, please point me in the right direction as I can't find it.
Concerning the signal strength....would it help to buy a new wireless card for the laptop? The Intel card has been updated with the newest software. The card is internal and to my knowledge can only be replaced with the same card or a bluetooth card. (Computer is a Dell XPS M140.) I do have a card slot but I'm confused because I think Dell called it an Express Card slot and I don't know whether or not the Linksys notebook card that is recommended for this router would work in this slot. If the card would work, is it worth the expense?
What else can I try. I thought about moving the router furthur to the left but it would require moving a few other items and I'm not sure if the cords are long enough. Would it help if the router & modem were not plugged into the same UPS? I do have a regular surge protecter near where my phone is. I would really rather leave them plugged into the UPS though for obvious reasons.
Also if it helps, I have the router on it's side with the 2 antennas on the end pointing straight up and the flat one in the middle I have angled this way.
I hope I have given enough information for some suggestions.

My desktop (Dell XPS400) tower is made out of metal...but the router is actually not sitting on it. There is a shelf to the left of my tower (when I'm facing it, otherwise it's to the right of it). That's where the modem & router sit. The shelf sits about 3" over from the edge of the computer and it's about 7" above it.
As far as the wireless card for my husband's laptop...I'm still thinking about it. I'm wondering if there would be any improvement in speed or the quality of the connection with the N card.
Now I just went into the router's settings and tried to make the changes you suggested. I was able to change the radio band from auto to wide BUT once I do that, I loose the ability to leave the wide channel & standard channels on auto. The options for the wide channel are 3-9 and the standard are 1 & 5. I don't know which ones are best to pick so for now I'm not changing anything. I didn't change the advanced settings either as I wasn't sure if I could do that without changing the other settings first.
My husband has noted that he does see the quality of the connection occasionally jump to excellant. For the most part it's staying on good in here. We haven't brought it out into the living room yet to see what it does out there. He hasn't needed to. He has had it disconnect on him a couple of times as well.
I did forgot to mention in that book I wrote that we do live in an apartment building. We are on the 1st floor in the back of the building. Our office is between our living room & another bedroom. There is an apartment above us. There is another apartment on the other side of the other bedroom. Our bathroom is across the hall from this room, other side of that is the kitchen and then there is an apartment in the front of the building. Our front door is off the living room, a hallway seperates our apartment from another one. There are 4 apartments on each floor. Laundry (directly under us) & storage in basement.
I give all these details to try to get the best help. I don't know if all this extra info is helpful or not. We have been using Linksys routers for quite a few years now. This is our 3rd one and our 2nd wireless one. We have been in this apartment for a year now and had no trouble until a few weeks ago. Previously lived in another apartment of the same floor plan in the same complex but on the 3rd floor (boy did we hate walking up those stairs!) with no trouble.
Looking forward to hearing back from you so I can try to make the changes you suggested.

BDLS cancelled in the midaway - urgent help needed
Hello All,
After refresh from production into test system, we ran BDLS in the test system for logical system name coneversion in background.
But the job got aborted throwing some database error (as some other activity was going on and due to which rollback segments were not sufficient)
Now when we try to execute the BDLS again, it is giving error telling that a conversion is already going on!!!( even after 3 days from the cancellation of BDLS job)
The error is :

Diagnosis
While a conversion is running, you cannot start any further processes for the test run. Depending on the size of the dataset in the system, this process can last a long time.
Procedure
Check whether all the conversion processes in the corresponding system are complete (online or background processing), or whether they have terminated due to a program error. If a process has terminated abnormally, first solve the error and delete the conversion log, then restart the process
Please let me know in case of any pointers? Can we rerun the BDLS? What needs to be done for that?? Any notes??

Please check in SM37 if the status is changed to cancelled
If the process was aborted 3 days back then there should not be any running processes in SM66 , and sm37 should show status CANCELLED.
If not then in SM37 , select job , and do an Job --> check status.
Also check for any locks and updates in sm12,SM13 related to this job
Then Retsart it in the same client

Found a site in "history" from 3/7/2014 and double clicked on it to insure it was the correct site I was searching for--now it "removed" that site from the 3/7/2014 history and its only listing is this morning; I need that listing of the original visit back in my history so I can prove I visited it on 3/7.....I can list the number of times it was visited, but I need the listing "back" with the date of when the site was visited ...any help would be appreciated
