From-to date java component
hey all
i am trying to query a database from my java software with certain date constraints....
can i find online a ready made component that have this "from-to" component where i put a certain date and it make sure that the year is leap and all those stuff
please help.
thanks in advance
There are several, but I haven't tried them yet:
https://swingx.dev.java.net/
http://www.jdatepicker.com/
http://www.calendarcomponent.com/
http://jdatechooser.sourceforge.net/
http://www.google.com.br/search?hl=en&q=java+swing+Calendar
There are probably more! ;-)
I'd try the one from swingx since these are the Swing components, which might get it to the standard jdk.

Http post to a url from a WebDynpro (Java) application
Hi,
I want to send http post parameters to a url from a WebDynpro (Java) component. I need to do this to send OCI catalog data back to SAP SRM.
I found this thread:
HTTP Post
which suggests to use the the Suspend plug for this purpose.
<quote>
Sending POST parameters with Web Dynpro Suspend Plugs
1) Define a an additional Suspend Plug parameter (besides 'Url' of type String) with name 'postParams' and of type Map
</quote>
After adding the postParams parameter of type java.util.Map to the Suspend-plug the WebDynpro gives the following error during build:
Outbound plug (of type 'Suspend') 'suspend_plug' may have at most two parameters: 'url' of type 'string' and 'postParams' of type 'Map'.
I use SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio version 7.0.16.
Does someone know a solution? I would highly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

How to get the values from struct data type using java code..?
Hi ,
I am newer to java.
we are using oracle database.
How to get the data from struct data type using java code.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
kumarHi Rajeev,
To retrieve a FilterContainer you will need to traverse the report structure:
ReportStructure boReportStructure = boDocumentInstance.getStructure();
ReportContainer boReportContainer = (ReportContainer) boReportStructure.getReportElement(0);
FilterContainer boFilterContainer = null;
if (boReportContainer.hasFilter()) {
boFilterContainer = boReportContainer.getFilter();
} else {
boFilterContainer = boReportContainer.createFilter(LogicalOperator.AND);
Calling boDocumentInstance.getStructure() will retrieve the entire structure for the document.
Calling boReportStructure.getReportElement(0) will retrieve the structure for the first report of the document.
Hope this helps.

Has anybody created Iview from "Webdynpro Java" component in CE7.1 ?
Hi All,
Has anyone created Iview from Webdynpro Java component in CE7.1.
Because the wizard that appears for creation of Iview has only "Webdynpro ABAP"
component.There is no option to create iview from "Webdynpro Java" component.
Althought in portal content--->Template folder i can see there is also
another template for "SAP Webdynpro iview" which i think is for the Java scenario.
But issue is, its not coming in the wizard.Can anyone tell me how to make it appear in the wizard ? It will be of great help to me.
Thanks and Regards
AshisHi Ashis,
your deployed webdynpros are published under "web dynpro applications". just copy the webdynpro from there and paste it into the portal content section.

Inside the XMLRPC "Array" Object there is object too of type Array from php.
See code for java here

Code from php here
function getCategories($appkey, $username, $password)
global $xmlrpcerruser, $xmlrpcI4, $xmlrpcInt, $xmlrpcBoolean, $xmlrpcDouble, $xmlrpcString, $xmlrpcDateTime, $xmlrpcBase64, $xmlrpcArray, $xmlrpcStruct, $xmlrpcValue;

Can someone help me.
Edited by: Electron32 on Aug 13, 2010 9:44 AMThat is what is so strange. I return an 'array' through xmlrpcval() and in Java I tried to cast it to ArrayList, Vector,String[] but get an error
Object[] result = (Object[]) client.execute( "blogger.getCategories", params1 );

I found a document which says that MDM4J is the legacy API and is considered deprecated .The MDM Java API is the new one .I have both of them in the java build path . I am not sure if this is that cause of the problem .
Now I had a look at the javadoc for the new API but I am not able to locate the class to obtain a connection to the MDM server from a custom application being built in Netweaver Developer Studio . Can someone help me out with the same ?What would be the code to obtain the connection to the MDM server with the new JAVA API ?

Can't reference methods in a Bean from a Composite JSF Component.
I have the following composite component TestCC.xhtml:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
xmlns:cc="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite" xmlns:af="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/faces/rich">

</cc:interface>
<cc:implementation>

</html>
When I try to call it in a JSFF file:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<ui:composition xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"

xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
xmlns:icc="http://java.sun.com/jsf/composite/IchipComponent">

The page crashes at my composite tag with the following message in the console:

But my managed bean does have a public String helloTest() method, as well as other methods that work fine elsewhere in my JSFF page:
public class PatientClinicalBean{
String test = "TESTING";
public String helloTest() {
return test;
I have tried this many times with different methods, all with the same result. Yet if my composite component outputs just a string and I enter the expression <icc:TestCC manager="#{viewScope.PatientClinicalBean.test}"/> to access the String test field directly it executes properly. I can't seem to reference any of the methods in PatientClinicalBean from only my composite component, when other method calls work fine in the same JSFF page. All other examples I've seen on the web have no problems doing this the same way I have, am I missing something?!

public String getHelloTest() {

}If you attempt to read a property call abc from a bean, you need to have a method called getAbc(). If you attempt to set a property called abc, you need to have a method called setAbc(...). This is JavaBeans convention. -
Problem with ArrayLists and writing and reading from a .dat file (I think)
I'm brand new to this forum, but I'm sure hoping someone can help me with a problem I'm having with ArrayLists. This program was originally created with an array of objects that were displayed on a GUI with jtextFields, then cycling thru them via jButtons: First, Next, Previous, Last. Now I need to add the ability to modify, delete and add records. Both iterations of this program needed to write to and read from a .dat file.
It worked just like it was suppose to when I used just the array, but now I need to use a "dynamic array" that will grow or shrink as needed: i.e. an ArrayList.
When I aded the ArrayList I had the ArrayList use toArray() to fill my original array so I could continue to use all the methods I'd created for using with my array. Now I'm getting a nullPointerException every time I try to run my program, which means somewhere I'm NOT filling my array ???? But, I'm writing just fine to my .dat file, which is confusing me to no end!
It's a long program, and I apologize for the length, but here it is. There are also 2 class files, a parent and 1 child below Inventory6. This was written in NetBeans IDE 5.5.1.
Thank you in advance for any help anyone can give me!

double pricBalusC -- The line that gives me my NullPointerException is when I call the "DisplayProduct()" method. Its a dumb question, but with NetBeans how do I find out which reference could be null? I'm not very familiar with how NetBeans works with finding out how to debug. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.The IDE is com-plete-ly irrelevant. It's all about the source code.
Do you understand anyway when and why a NullPointerException is been thrown? It is a subclass of RuntimeException and those kind of exceptions are very trival and generally indicate an design/logic/thinking fault in your code.
SomeObject someObject = null; // The someObject reference is null.
someObject.doSomething(); // Invoking a reference which is null would throw NPE. -
Jsf data table component + print null cell
I am using the jsf data table component and binding the column values to a backing bean.
<h:dataTable binding="#{backing_showDifferences.dataTable2}"
id="dataTable2">
<h:column binding="#{backing_showDifferences.userColumn1}"/>
<h:column binding="#{backing_showDifferences.userColumn2}"/>
<h:column binding="#{backing_showDifferences.userColumn3}"/>
</h:dataTable>
- some code from my showDifferences.java
HtmlOutputText column1Text = new HtmlOutputText();
vb =
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("#{users.uclass}");
column1Text.setValueBinding("value", vb);
usercolumn1.getChildren().add(column1Text);
HtmlOutputText column2Text = new HtmlOutputText();
vb =
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("#{users.ue1}");
column2Text.setValueBinding("value", vb);
usercolumn2.getChildren().add(column2Text);
HtmlOutputText column3Text = new HtmlOutputText();
vb =
FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getApplication().createValueBinding("#{users.ue2}");
column3Text.setValueBinding("value", vb);
usercolumn3.getChildren().add(column3Text);
ResultSetDataModel dataModel = new ResultSetDataModel();
dataModel.setWrappedData(rs);
dataTable2.setValue(dataModel);
The raw HTML:
<table id="form1:dataTable2" class="iuptable" border="1">
<thead>
<tr>
<th scope="col">Heading 1</th>
<th scope="col">Heading 2</th>
<th scope="col">Heading3</th>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td>some data in this column</td>
<td>X</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>Some more data in this row</td>
<td>X</td>
<td></td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>
My problem is this...in the raw HTML the <td></td> tag is not formatted nicely on my table output. I have lines around my entire table and each cell within it. When the <td></td> prints there are no lines. I am new to the JSF table data component, but if I were writing some JSP or servlet code I would check that if value was null I would append an   to the <td> tag (ex. <td> </td>) and the table would be formatted properly. The backing bean that I am binding to is pulling the data from a database table...so my sql looks like this:
SELECT uclass, ue1, ue2 from table1; my problem is when ue1 or ue2 is a null value.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!Hi,
the h:dataTable belongs to the JSF Reference Implementation from Sun, not to Oracle ADF Faces. The rendering is within this component set and I suggest to report your issue on one of the SUN forums (http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=427) as we have no handle to e.g. fix an issue if it exists in the component set.
Frank -
Java component - ora-01013 error when calling ws.createResultSetSQL
Running Content Server 11.1.1.5 on WLS 10.3.5 in 64bit Linux environment. Same component/code runs great in dev environment, but consistently get this error in production. In production, query runs against view in same schema as system database. I can run the same query in either SQL Developer or SQLPlus and the results return nearly immediate - about 1 second.
The query in the Java component times-out nearly every single time, even when very little load on the system (late at night).
getMessage() returns "!csDbUnableToCreateResultSet
I have already set the default query timeout in config.cfg to 120 seconds.
Any suggestions? Really perplexed on this one!
Thank you, Ken
