Front panel is not shown completely.

Hi.
I have worked on a project more than three months and last week I was faced with a strange problem. When I switch from 'block diagram' to 'front panel' window it is not shown completely. I had this problem in LabVIEW 8.0 then I removed it completely and installed LabVIEW 8.5 but after two or three days it happened again. I do not think it is related to my laptop because I tested it on three different computers. I deleted all objects in 'block diagram' and 'front panel' windows but the file still has this problem. I attached my file and some images. When I compile and make an executable file it still has the problem. The 'image3.jpg' shows that file. When switch from another window like word to this window it is not shown completely. I do not know what to do.

I tested your VI in 8.6.1 and observe similar redraw problems. I suspect something is corrupt.
Have you tried starting with a new VI and copying you old code over?

In the case where a sub vi's panel is not shown during execution, does it matter if I include front panel indicators on the sub vi's panel? (these indicators were there for debugging purposes). Is there any performance penalty for this? Thanks!

If the frontpanel is not loaded it has no time penalties. But a frontpanel is sometimes loaded because of property nodes!

JMenu is not shown completely

Hello.
I've created an application with a JMenu. Now I have the problem that it is not shown completely. It's just shown the beginning until there's a JPanel and then the JPanel covers the JMenu. How can I change the program that the JMenu covers the JPanel and not reverse?
Please help.

Without a code sample it's difficult to be precise. However it sounds as if you may be using a borderlayout and placing the JPanel in the same area as the JMenu. For example you may have code like:container.add(menu,BorderLayout.NORTH);
container.add(panel,BorderLayout.NORTH);

when the screen saver turns off my front panel does not refresh. If I use the show desktop button sometimes I can not maximize my vi by just clicking on it from the start bar.

I utilize both a screen saver and the show desktop feature but have never seen this problem in the past. You might play around with your screen saver settings to see if they have any affect. You might also try another computer just to make sure something larger scale isn't going on. Also, testing with other programs to make sure it isn't a general OS issue is always a good idea. Other possibilities include changing your Video Driver settings, updating your video driver, and uninstalling - reinstalling.

Front panel sound not working

I've just bought a PCI Express X-Fi Titanium. So far everything works great with my 5. sound system, but I have problems with my front panel audio.
My case only supports AC97 front panel audio, but has all individual connectors (so 7 single connectors, not one with 0 pins).
I've already tried only connecting 5 pins (the two AC97 return pins unconnected) and connecting all 7 pins. In both ways the microphone works, but sadly not the headphone output. I also tried changing the two options in the driver but that changed nothing.
I did some Google searching and found many reports where the sound itself works with an AC97 front panel on an HD soundcard, just no jack detection.
Any ideas why that isn't working for me?

! Try here for pinouts of your jacks. I have a Cooler Master case that has AC97 and INTEL HD front panel jacks, but here is the kicker. The AC97 jacks come from the front panel first and then about fi've inches from this jack is an INTEL HD jack. A few wires are changed but perhaps these will help...

NI DMM Soft front panel did not detect any ni-dmm

Hello,
has anyone seen this failure? I can´t open soft front panel to setup the dmm. I tried to reinstall VISA and NI-DMM without success.

Hello,
reinstalling the nidmm and visa will cause several reboots of the system. That was no solution
for me and my problem.
After starting the nidmm, the window with the information, that the 4072 won´t be found shows
a RESCAN button. By pressing the RESCAN button, the error code -1074118656 and the message,
that the device ist not recognized and this version or driver wont fit my 4072.
Should I install the only install the delivered driver or could I update to the actual version?
Delivered was Version 2.5 of NIDMM, installed on my system is the actual one from the NI homepage.
I think, I try to deinstall the NI-SW completely and install "only" the delivered SW. Hope, this will solve.

Publising front panels of not visible subvis on the web

my main program has tab object with 10 pages. Within the main program there are several subvis whose front panels i want to publish on the web.
The front panels of these subvis are not visible in the main program. Front panels of some subvis are displayed correctly in browser (IE, Firefox) but some not.
Fields of the object are empty or their fields are not refresh with new data (att. pict " array indicators").
The problem is worse if not visible subvi contains chart object. In the browser window data are moved out of the chart window (att. pict. "chart within...").
For monitoring front panels of the subvis i use MONITOR mode of the LabVIEW web server.
Any idea, hints or simple example is welcome.

NI Scope Sorf Front Panel will not detect NI PXI-5122

Hello,
I am trying to use NI Scope Soft Front Panel 2.7f0 to acquire simple waveforms;
however it will not detect my NI PXI-5122. I have confirmed that the digitizer
works under MAX 4.2.1 and can see waveforms under the test panel. I have
installed NI Scope 3.3.1 on my machine and have updated the driver on the PXI
to version 3.3.1. Any ideas on what is wrong?

It is unclear from your post whether or not the 5122 is on the same physical device as you are running the soft front panel (SFP). The SFP only works on local devices. It does not have the capability to attach to RT or remote systems (MAX does). However, if you are running Windows on your PXI controller or are using MXI to control the chassis, there is another issue.

Xonar D1 front panel microphone not working in kernel 2.6.33

It is not possible to record anything from my front panel microphone jack after I updated kernel to 2.6.33.
It still works OK with kernel 2.6.32.10, but does not work with 2.6.33.3, and it did not work with 2.6.33.rc8 too. The front panel switch in alsamixer switches only output but not input (mic) now. Before, the switch had impact on both output and input.
When I activate the back panel on the card everything is working well (back panel connectors are active, front panel connectors are inactive). When I activate the front panel then the front panel microphone is not working (back panel microphone works). The alsamixer front panel switch does not have impact on the microphone any more and no switch was added to control the microphone separately from the output.
The alsa version is 1.0.23.
I use 32 bit kernels. My brother uses 64 bit kernels and the problem is the same for him too. Although he uses Xonar DX.
Any idea how to get this fixed?

I'm also having trouble with the 2800pci driver. I installed the v26 firmware from the PKGBUILD in this thread, and it does scan as Cdh says, but will not connect...

The rt2860sta driver does work, but only at G speed not N. I also tried the ralink 2.3.0.0 driver, but it is even slower than the kernel driver. With 2.6.32 kernel, I was able to get N speed from their 2.1.2.0 driver, but that one won't compile anymore. I've had nothing but trouble with this card for the last year.
I'm very tempted to just buy another card, but I'm not sure which one to buy.

IPOD Mini front panel buttons not functioning

First of all, thanks for reading my message.
I have this wierd problem. My front panel buttons namely Menu, forward, rewind, play/pause and wheel donot work.
The thing that is wierd is that my ipod is still functional using the remote. Even when I am playing MP3s using remote, those regular buttons dont function. They look like they are dead, no response what so ever.
Since the remote has limited buttons I want my front panel buttons to work. Any inputs on this regard is appretiated.

sync it to itunes.
Hold works.
ear phone jack works.
In all my IPOD is in a state similar to what you have when you switch to "HOLD". Irespective of whether I swith the hold button or not.

Programmatically resizing Front Panel does not repaint

I am trying to extend the width of a front panel at run time when a user hits a button. The problem is
that the contents of the newly exposed front panel section are not redrawn. I have to either drag
another window over that section or minimize-maximize it to get it to repaint.
My issue is how can I get the front panel to refresh/repaint, or if that is not possible what other
ways are there to do resizing. I have tried changing the "Window Bounds" and "Panel Bounds" properties of
the VI (not at the same time) as well as using LVWUtil32 (Windows API Function Utilities (32-bit) for
LabVIEW). Each of these methods results in the same problem.

HI Naveen,
It seems to me that you are having Problem with your Graphics Hardware, rather than labview. Generally the window should be repainted by system.
If you go to Display Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting or Graphic Acceleration - You may see the slider to full Acceleration. Under this setting the OS basically relegates most graphic duties to Graphic Hardware.
What you may want to do is to Move the slider a couple of notches back. And then try your VI's. Infact try all the settings on your Slider. See if it works at No Acceleration.
The Problem for me is I do not Have this Problem and cannot even simulate it to try a solution.
Another Solution is this -
There is a vi Property Class called "Front Panel" Which can be access
ed from Vi Server. Under this Class you will see a Property "Defer Front Panel Update" Generally this Property is used to Prevent a redraw. But if this Property is set to False, Labview immediately redraws the Panel.
What you may want to do is after resizing to let you program go through this Property Node set to False and See if this Helps.
By The way, the way you have to wire this Property is to Open a Vi Ref, Wire it to Property Node, Select Property as "Front Panel". Right Click on "Front Panel" and Click on Create-> Property -> Defer Front Panel Update. Wire the Referneces of the these Objects, with the output of "Front Panel" going to "Defer FP Update".
I hope your ver of Labview has these Properties. I am Using 6.1

K9N2G Neo Front panel audio not working

I have plugged in various cases and i/o bays into the audio connector on this mb and NONE of them work. Yes I have tried the "disable detection" option with no luck. I am currently trying to use a silverstone fp32 i/o bay that definately supports hd audio but it still doesn't work. I made no wiring mistake as it was a plug and not seperate wires.

It doesn't follow AC97. But it is a Realtec chip, and they often run into problems. For example they'd like their drivers installed while in SafeMode.
Where exactly did the problem come up? Is the HD controller enabled, (BIOS)?
Is this relevant, stolen from the Englizsch only manual:
"When you are playing the first audio source (for example: use Windows Media
Player to play DVD/VCD), the output will be played from the rear panel, which is the
default setting.
Then you must to select the Realtek HD Audio front output from the scroll list
first, and use a different program to play the second audio source (for example: use
Winamp to play MP3 files). You will find that the second audio source (MP3 music) will
come out from the Line-Out audio jack of Front Panel."

Front panel objects not stationary

I've created a VI for a particular instrument in our lab. There are a number of inputs and outputs associated with it so I arranged them together on the front panel for ease of viewing. However after I saved my VI and opened it again all most of the objects are all jumbled up again. It makes no difference even if I save a new VI. This is really really annoying. One section of the front panel is fine but the other lie over and on top of each other making it a pain to separate. It makes no difference if I move the controls and indicators to their designated spots and lock them, they appear somewhere else when I re-open the VI..

It seems that you programatically set a location for your controls,... If you place it somewhere it is supposed to be there the next times you open it... moreover if you save it there...
Did you try to place your control and save it, without execute the program...
Nevertheless, without an example it is very difficult to help you...

The front 'logo' LED is enabled or disabled using a BIOS option 'Display Front Logo' which can be set to ON or OFF as you require. Access your BIOS settings (F2 during boot up) and check that this setting is set to 'ON'.

Answer - Suject Area - Selection Panel - Columns not shown

I have created the physical tables, created the Business Model and Fields Mapping, drag the logical tables to the presentation layer. The consistency check is good. However when I start the Presentation Services -> go to Answer -> Select the subject area. However, I am unable to create the report because no columns are shown under the logical tables. Anyone knows why? I have deleted all the temp internet files before start the browser.

Strange. The columns show under the table on the Selection Panel in Subject Area this morning. I'm not sure that whether it is on-line or off-line problem. It appears to be. This morning I just open the rpd on-line and drag the tables to the presentation layer. Then activate the presentation services on my PC, the columns show.
