FTPS Files Using MS SSIS

Hi,
I need to transfer files using FTPS - FTP using Explicit or Implicit TLS Encryption. I wanted to check what is the best possible route using MS SSIS to transfer files. The SSIS job would first generate the data file which needs to be transferred to the FTPS
site.
I am currently using MS SSIS 2012
Any guidance, documentation , steps would be helpful.
Thanks,
EVA05

Hi,
Another third-party alternative is the commercial COZYROC
SFTP Task. It supports both the SSH and FTPS secure protocols and the user interface is very similar to the standard FTP Task.

  • Append to remote FTP file using Pharlap

    Hi
    Currently a colleague of mine has managed to write data from our cFP 2020 to a remote file on an FTP server (using the FTP buffer VI in Labview 7.0). However there does not appear to be any way that he can append additional readings to that file. I would like to know if there is a way to append data to the remote FTP file. We are interested in storing 1 minute's worth of 3.3 second data within the remote file. Our SQL server will then import the flat file every minute into the database.
    So my question is, how can I append data readings from my cFP 2020 to remote files on an FTP server?
    --Thor

    Hi Thor,
    You’ll want to look into the NI LabVIEW Internet Toolkit that will allow you to programmatically send and retrieve files from a remote FTP server.
    Additionally, I have attached an example program to demonstrate how to send/retrive files programmatically using the FTP VIs. Note that you will need to have the Internet Toolkit in order to see the FTP VIs.
    Hope this helps. Thanks again.

    The Apache Commons project has a couple of components that may help. Check out the net or vfs components:

    Also look on the SourceForge site for any Java FTP projects that you could use.

  • FTP file using PL/SQL: file size 0

    Hi,
    I'm using the approach explained in
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/9i/FTPFromPLSQL9i.php
    I have written a procedure that get the last n files into an external directory location.
    The problem is that some of the files arrived to the external directory with size 0 while they are not empty files on the original servers.
    These empty files are randomly created, i.e. on one run a file can have size 0 while on the next run can be ftp'd properly. Sometimes 1 file is created with size 0 and another times 3.
    I would appreciate any help.
    Many thanks.

  • Not able to send file Using FTP in SSIS 2005

    I am using SSIS 2005
    I am trying to send file to ftp server using FTP task in SSIS but i am getting following error.
    Error Message-:An error occurred in the requested FTP operation.
    Detailed Description-:550 /FileName.txt: Access is denied.
    RemotefilePath is /
    I need a advice.
    Thanks in advance.

    I got this error recently from the FTP task in SSIS:
         Unable to send files using "FTP".
    I had everything correct, by the book.  I was trying to send a file, but I got the same error when trying to receive a file.
    I already verified that I could send the file via command line FTP, so the FTP was not "secure FTP" (which wouldda required FileZilla or WinSCP or something similar) and my credentials were fine.
    But I still got the above error.  Heck, I was beginning to thing that the FTP task in SQL Server 2008 was broken and just couldn't send files.
    Well, this issue is now resolved.  The problem was in the
    destination folder.  I was assuming that the root folder for my FTP account held the files.
    So I entered the destination folder as this:
    /data_in/
    But... the FTP task sees the root folder as one up from that.
    So I had to use my account name in the path... meaning I had to change the destination folder to this:
        /myaccountname/data_in/
        (where "myaccountname" was my login to the FTP site.)
    I hope this post helps someone else.

  • How to use a key file in the FTP Task using and SSL connection

    In the past I have used this code to set the FTP pass word in an FTP component task in SSIS.
    Does anyone know how to use a Key file in an SSL connection to download a file from an FTP site?  If not can you tell me where I can get the C# code examples to learn how to create a script task or if there is another way in SSIS to download large files
    from an SSL FTP site?  Thank you for any help offered.
    public void Main()
    ConnectionManager FTPConn;
    FTPConn = Dts.Connections["FTPServer"];
    FTPConn.Properties["ServerPassword"].SetValue(FTPConn, Dts.Variables["FTPPassword"].Value);
    Dts.TaskResult = (int)ScriptResults.Success;
    Antonio

    You can use SFTP for this.
    This is a way of implementing SFTP in SSIS using standard tasks

  • Process TIFF file from FTP server using File/FTP adapter

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to process a scanned document TIFF file from a directory on an FTP server using the File/FTP adapter and process through XI into a Web Service via a receiver SOAP adapter.
    My question is can the file/FTP adapter be used to process the TIFF file into XI from an FTP server ? Also, what settings need to be made on the file adapter to allow this file to be processed into XI ?
    Thanks in advance

    hi colin,
    TIFF is type of image file, it can be converted to binary using java mapping

  • Need Help to locate a file on a FTP server using MediaLocator class

    Hi Friends,
    This is Venkat. Iam currently working on a Multimedia J2EE web project. Iam working on a requirement to
    show Thumbnail view for uploaded media. For this i have downloaded a standalone code from the following site.
    http://www.exactfutures.com/index02.htm.
    This code converts frames of a media files to jpg images which i can use them to show as Thumbnails.
    The code takes file name which is present in project folder as parameter. But in my web project iam using a FTP server to store my media files.
    The above code uses Java Media Framework along with another API Fobs4JMF. The media file name is passed to MediaLocator class constructor which is located in the project folder. Iam talking about a standalone application here.
    But my project is a J2EE web application.
    Now my problem is that, how can i refer a file which is located on a external FTP server and pass it to MediaLocator or some other class.
    Say the ftp file URL is mms://wm.testuser.net/12365741/testvideo.wmv
    Guys hope you are clear abt my problem. Please help me ASAP.
    Below is the part of code
         * Constructor
         public vid2jpg(String path) {
              MediaLocator ml;
              String args = path;
              if ((ml = new MediaLocator(args)) == null) {
                   System.out.println("Cannot build media locator from: " + args);
              if (!open(ml)) {
                   System.out.println("Failed to open media source");
         * Given a MediaLocator, create a processor and start
         private boolean open(MediaLocator ml) {
              System.out.println("Create processor for: " + ml);
              try {
                   p = Manager.createProcessor(ml);
              } catch (Exception e) {
                   System.out.println("Failed to create a processor from the given media source: " + e);
                   return false;
              p.addControllerListener(this);
              // Put the Processor into configured state.
              p.configure();
              if (!waitForState(p.Configured)) {
                   System.out.println("Failed to configure the processor.");
                   return false;
              // Get the raw output from the Processor.
              p.setContentDescriptor(new ContentDescriptor(ContentDescriptor.RAW));

    Hi Mani,
    Below is code that ran successfully on a cRIO-9002.  It looks much the same as yours, please double-check the formatting of your string controls.  If things still do not work, let's look at the cRIO more closely.

  • How to connect to a FTP server using a proxy in a DMZ with XI file adapter?

    Hello,
    Want to connect to an ftp server using a proxy in the DMZ. I don't see any standard options in the XI file adapter to use a standard. Is there a workaround?
    I already looked at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=57137
    But it didn't help me.
    Regards,
    Erik van Lisdonk

    U can't use FTP over SSH i.e., SFTP. But u may use FTPS by enabling the SSL layer on J2EE of XI. See this

  • How to Create a Flat File using FTP/File Adapter

    Can any body done workaround on creating the Flat file using FTP/File Adapter?.
    I need to create a simple FlatFile either using of delimiter/Fixed length. using the above said adapters we can create XML file, i tried concatinating all the values into a single String and writing into a file, but it does not have proper structure
    Can any body help me out on this..
    Thanks
    Ram

    You can create a text schema while creating a File Adapter. If schema is specified for File Adapter, it takes care of converting XML into fixed length or delimited format.
    Thanks,
