Funds Management-Derive Fund centre from Cost Centre

Dear Guru
In funds management -Derive Fund centre from Cost Centre" i used to have 8000 entries till yesterday. So there were 8000 combinations of fund center with cost center.
Somehow I can only see 80 today. Somebody might have deleted those.
Is there any change log availble to see who deleted and when?
Archit

Hi,
I see... Deletion is not logged there, I'm afraid; only modifications on existing entries. Unless, you have specifically defined log status for the relevant FM table, which I doubt. I believe, no one would delete 8000 records just for laugh. Most probable, the entries were deleted with a transport request.
One more reason to follow my advice and maintain the link in a different manner.

Eli

  • Funds managed by fund managers - CFM/Treasury.

    Hi Experts,
Can someone help me on how to maintain details of funds managed by fund managers (external agencies) by investing in many types of financial instruments (securities, money market, derivatives, etc.).  At the month-end we will get a report about all the  investments made, their base value, market value, etc., based on which we need to calculate fair value gain/loss as well as impairment loss/gain, if any.
Here all the funds are managed by fund managers and accounting part is taken care by custodian bank.  Is there any way to upload/maintain such data in SAP Treasury (Transaction Manager) based on an excel sheet.
Can you please guide me which thread is answering queries/clarifications related to SAP FSCM Treasury & Risk Manager / SAP CFM Treasury & Risk Manager.
Really not getting any answere when I am posting it on ERP financials thread.
Thanks in advance for the help.
    Mahesh

    Hi Kalyan,
Thanks  for your  reply.  We  are  implementing  Treasury modlue and am aware of required configuration for various financial instruments in transaction manager.
    - Client is managing some  investments on their own for which  we are  doing  required  configuration  and standard  procedure  for  transaction  & position  management  will be followed.
    -  Apart  from funds managed  on  their own,  external  fund managers  (multiple) are dealing  with financial  instruments based on  investment  mandate given by client and  sending  monthly reports on investments made, their values, expenses, transaction  details, etc., being  sent to client in  the form of spread sheet.
    - Client will also  receive a statement from Custodian Bank  with  details  of investments made  by each  fund manager.
    Please clarify on the  following:
    - As per your reply there  are standard BAPIs available  for importing transactions  to SAP.  Fund Managers are investing in  various type  of  financial  instruments  (securities, money market, forex, etc.)  in various currencies.
    - To import the  investment details using  BAPI do I need to make configuration settings for each  type of financial  instrument.
    -  The purpose is to  arrive at fair value  gain/loss and sum  up expenses based on reports  (spread  sheets)  received  fund managers and pass journal  entries.
    - There is  a requirement  for preparation of disclosure  reports  on various investments based on  these  details received  from custodian bank.
    - Reconciliation of  reports received  from  Custodian  bank  and  fund  managers.
You may please see my previous  message also.
Please  get  back  to  me  if you  have  any further  clarifications.
    with  best  wishes,

  • Network,Assignment,Profit centre N cost Centre field's in CJ20N Transaction

    Dear Gurus,
I need to know the Network, Assignment, Profit Centre and Cost centre fields in the CJ20N transaction.
I have got a requirement to fetch the above fields for every project. I can find the Project name in table PROJ under the field PSPID and the WBS element in table PRPS under the field POSID.
Kindly help me out, as the transaction CJ20N is using Structure for the above 4 fields.
Your suggestions are deeply valuable and are appreciated in advance.
    Thankyou,
    ZIa

Use FM "'BBP_PS_PROJECT_GET_LIST" to get the complete structure of the Project defined in the txn CJ20N.
Just pass the Project number to this FM and you will get all the details under different Internal Tables.
Execute this FM in SE37 for any of the Existing Project of yours in CJ20N.

  • Fund Management - Issues in Upgrade from 4.6C to ECC6

    Hello,
We are upgrading SAP Application for a client who is on 4.6C to ECC6. The client is currently using Funds Management in 4.6C. With ECC6 I understand that this functionality is moved into Public Sector and is available only on activation of IS-PS Extension Set.
The question I have is that does this activation impact any other business processes or is just a technical activation.
What I mean is that if I activate this extension set does the system start doing things differently and needs specific data related to Public Sector which the business users will be required to be entered while doing transactions OR the activation will not impact business processes as such and would work as earlier with Funds management active. (except where there was a change in the functionality between 4.6C to ECC6)
I would like to know the risks, if any involved in upgrading Funds Management from 4.6C to ECC6.
Please reply and let me know any question to get more clarity on the issue.
    Best Regards
    Kuldeep

    Hi Kuldeep,
There are several main issues that have to be addresses when upgrading from 4.6 to ECC6. The main ones are:
1 - Derivations. The object are no longer connected through tables or master data entries (you may have a table that links Cost Centers to Funds Centers for example). These assignments are now maintained through a flexible derivation tool. These derivation rules have to be maintaind, or the posting addresses will have no FM values and you will not be able to post any documents.
2 - Inventory purchases. The inventory purchases scenarios are no longer maintained through the customization (you can no longer choose one of the 4 inventory scenarios, and there's no warehouse Funds Center). These are all maintained through derivations.
3 - BCS. There's a new budgeting and AVC tool called "Budget Control System" (BCS). You can either activate it, or keep working with the old budgeting (called "former" in the customization). The new BCS affords flexibility in budgeting and AVC, including several AVC ledgers.
More data regarding migrations can be found in documentation. If you want, I can send you the PDF document.
    Best regards,
    Shahaf Yaari

  • Transfering costs from cost centre to a WBS

    Dear Experts,
I have 250 PO's where the cost is booked to the cost centre. They were suppose to be loaded on to WBS elements.
How do i transfer these costs to the WBS?
    Thanks
    Burzes

    Hi Burzes,
You can do this in  KB11N or can create a distribution cycle where in sender will be the cost center and receiver is WBS element

  • CO-PA derivation of Country from Cost center

    Hi,
I am trying to derive Country for COPA purposes from business area of Cost center. I have creation a Table-lookup rule for first deriving the business area from Cost center. But this rule has Controlling area, Cost center and Date To field as the key field. I am confused which field to enter in the corresponding field of COPA for Date TO field in CSKS table. Can we derive business are through this method in COPA? When i display the characteristic COPA_KOSTL, Origin table and Origin field is coming as blank. Please clarify these two things.
    Regards
    Suresh

    Hi Waman,
My problem is in case of non project related expenses which we book to Cost center. I can derive country in case of project related expenses from Project itself which has country of project.
Please clarify if you have an option for doing this.

  • Profit Centre and Cost centre not updated

    Hi,
I have posted expenses through FB60 and assigned cost centre to the expenses account and not for vendor item. Entry passed was posted.
But when i checked the document, i saw that the cost centre and profit centre is appearing in one line item (i.e. expense line item) only.
Afterwards i made payment through F-53. In this entry also there was no cost centre and profit centre in vendor line item. But the same was appearing in "outgoing bank" line item

    Hello,
If you are on classical GL, your vendor line items or customer line item will not be updated automatically.
If you are on New GL functionality and document splitting, you will have profit center updated on customer and vendor line items.
    Regards,
    Ravi

  • Change Profit Centre in Cost centre

    Hello Experts,
I have to change profit centre in cost center (postings have been done on cost centre), how can I do ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Catherine

    Hi,
Once you post transaction to the Cost Center, we can not change Business Area or Profit Center assignment for the same Fiscal Year.
System will allow changes for the subsequent Fiscal Years though.
You cannot really reduce the number of Cost Centers. However we can restrict the validity period though. You can delete the Cost Center validity for the dates that do not have transaction with in the same Fiscal year as well.
    Hope this helps

  • Changing Cost of SAles Account form Profit Centre to Cost Centre

In order to be able to forecast against Cost of Sales accounts within the same process and plan version as expenditure accounts, I am proposing to create Cost Elements on the G/L accounts associated (they currently post to Profit Centre).
Apart from losing history reporting, are there any issues to consider before making this change (e.g automatic account assignment)

    Hello Shirley,
Here are the areas that I can think of:
    1) Field Status Group for Cost objects- OB41 and OB14: For all the GL's that will be created as Cost Element, ensure that Cost Center is not a "Suppressed" or "Display" field, it has to be a "Required" or at least an "Optional" field. (Internal Orders, if used, need similar treatment)
    2) Field Status Group for Profit Centers: Similarly, if you have made Profit Center a "Required" field, then you may want to make it "Optional" and allow it to be defaulted from the Cost Center or Internal Order
    3) Profit Center Derivation: 3KEH / 3KEI: Entries in these tables, if any, need to be removed for the Accounts that are being created as Cost Elements.
    4) Default Account Assignment: OKB9: In case you are not able to enter Cost Center / Internal Order at the time of FI Document entry, then you will need to include these in OKB9.
    Hope this information helps.
    Regards.
    Ashish.

  • Commitment Item in SD Billing document (Fund Managment) ECC6

    Hi,
We are upgrading from 4.6C to ECC6 and have activated Fund Managment (EA-PS).
At the time of carrying out the Billing in SD we are getting a error that no commitment item available for gl account but if I use the same revenue account and create a FI invoice (FB70)  then the CI is getting derived thru the derivation rules (Rule:CI from Cost Element).
I would like to know why the CI is not getting derived during Billing in SD module.
    Thanks
    SS

    Hi,
    Thanks for your message.
I have maintained a derivation  Rule:CI from Cost Element, so that the CI will derive from this derivation rule.
As mentioned if I use same revenue account and create a FI invoice then the CI is derived as per the derivation rules but while carrying out the SD billing then the error comes.
    Kindly clarify.
    Regards

  • Funda Management

    Hi friends,
    Please find the below requirement.
Fund centre owners to be able to make transfers without notification to planning, up to a certain amount or percentage on category, for specific fund centres, budget categories and period, according to rules set by planning.
is there any way to maitain Authorizations for fund centre, commitment items, period, and %on available amounts.
Transfer beyond restrictions and thresholds should trigger approval workflow from Finance.
    would appreciate your fatest reply
    thanks in advance.

    Hi Ramu ,
The following link may be useful to u to understand the concept of funds management.
Funds Management allows management to set budgets for revenues and expenses within your company as well as track these to the area of responsibility.

  • How to setup Cost Centres driven purchasing approval Hierarchy

    Hi Guys,
My client has a Cost Centre set as a segment of their Key Flexfield
Every Approver has cost centre limited approval limit attached
    Eg:
Approver AAA can approve upto 100$ for cost centre 1111 only
Approver BBB can approve upto 200$ for cost centre 2222 only
Approver CCC can approve upto 200$ for cost centre 1111 only
    Required:
When Requester creates a requisition for a certain cost centre (ie cost centre 1111), oracle should build an approval list based on approval limits.
    In our example:
Requestor creates requisition for 150$ for cost centre 1111
Generated Approval List: Approver AAA -> Approver CCC
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Iana

    Thanks Sandeep!
My problem is not how to define approval groups (this will work!), but how to generate an approval list (or how to setup hierarchy)
Approval list should be generated from those people who can approve my cc, not my next in line manager
    Eg:
when I create Req for cc 1111,
My approval list shd be: Approver AAA -> Approver CCC
when I create Req for cc 222,
My approval list shd be: Approver BBB
One solution can be to create a separate hierarchy for each CC range (ie Marketing, IT, etc) and let requestor to choose the correct hierarchy from LOV. The problem here will be that multiple hierarchies are difficult to maintain. For example, if the position for Deputy CFO changes, I have to adjust each hierarchy

  • Project Systems: Profit and Cost Centres

    Hi
When maintaining a WBS element through transaction CJ02 or CJ20N for example; it is poossible to link a profit centre, ressponsible cost centre and requesting cost centre to each WBS element.
My question is: When cost gets incurred against a WBS element the profit centre gets updated with the cost as well. However, the cost centres (responsible and requesting) do not get updated. Is there any automatic effect on these cost centres (such as is the case with profit centres)?
I know that the requesting cost centre will be the cost centre allocated to AUC's assigned (if applicable) and that to get cost onto the cost centre a settlement rule must be maintained. What therefore is the use of having responsible and requesting cost centres assigned to a WBS apart from this?

    Hi
Cost center and WBS elements are both cost objects hence at a time real posting can happen to only one of them. Since WBS elements are getting debited , it will not simultaneously debit a cost center. However profit center it is not the case , hence the data flow to the profit center happens as an when a posting is done to WBS element and also when WBS is settled to cost center then also there will be a posting to profit center.

  • Dimension Design - Cost Centre

    Hi All,
I'm midst of designing a Cost  Centre, dimension which will need to have Entity, Profit Centre ID, Profit Centre Description, Cost Centre Group, Cost Centre, Cost Centre DEesription and Process, I see some of the will be Hiearachy rolling up. Starting from Entity to Profit Centre ID & Description and to Cost Centre Group, Cost Centre and Cost Centre Description and finally to Process
My query, is what is the element should be in Dimension and its memeber and properties ? I guess currency, owner ...
do I need to have a column of Profit Cetre from and to side by side, what about Business Unit, and how does EVDESCRIPTION fits into this scenario ? does it carry Profit Centre Description or Cost Centre Description ?
    Please advise
    Thanks
    Zan

    Hi,
You can maintain Entity, Profit Centre ID, Cost Centre Group, Cost Centre as IDs and all their descriptions in the evdescription. The entity type of dimension must have currency, owner and / or reviewer property. The rest of the properties will depend on the actual requirements.
