Fusion Human Capital (Talent) Management - exact desktop requirement

Hi,
I've searched as much as I can and still can't seem to find a definitive answer.  Oracle HCM (or Talent Management) is certified for Adobe Flash Player and IE 8 (amongst others). What I really want to find out is: does it require ActiveX and/or JavaScript as well and is there anything else desktop related that it needs?
There seems to be no documentation that I can find that answers this definitively.
I need to deploy in a very restricted desktop environment and so need to know exactly what has to be in the desktop build in order for HCM to work.
I have read the installation guides and certification document etc. but cannot find this level of detail (I'd, of course, love to find it just needs IE8 and Adobe Flash Player 10 )
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Dominic.

Hi Dominic,
a good page to review and bookmark is http://oracle.com/systemrequirements (but it doesn't talk about JavaScript).
You will need JavaScript for the ADF-based web user interface, but you don't need ActiveX.  Flash Player is needed for the DVT (data visualization) components.   Your browser also needs to accept cookies.
I am not an expert in HCM, so I don't know if they have functionality that has additional requirements.  A typical example would be ADF Desktop Integration functionality -- if you need that for your product usage, you'd typically need Microsoft Office apps.
Hope this helps.  Don't hesitate to follow up if you need anything else.

  • SAP Interactive Forms and SAP Smart Forms for Human Capital Management

    Hi gurus,
pls help me understand what are SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe and SAP Smart Forms for Human Capital Management (HCM)?

    read here
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/SAPInteractiveFormsbyAdobe#SAPInteractiveFormsbyAdobe-WhatarethedifferencesbetweenSmartFormsandAdobeForms%3F
What are the differences between Smart Forms and Adobe Forms?
For both of them, SAP dynamically creates a function module that must be called from an ABAP program to generate the form
In Smart Forms, it is possible to add ABAP code during generation of the form, that is not possible with Adobe Forms
It is possible to add javascript or FormCalc code in Adobe Forms, which is executed during the generation of the form

  • Talent Management requirements

    Hi,
I am new to HRMS and the first assignment that I have to do is to setup Performance Management for the business.I have gone through teh talent Management document.
I would like to know what aspects should I consider while implementing Talent Management. Are there any standard questions to be clarified from the client?
Also does anyone ahve a sample set of Requirement document for this?
    Appretiate any response

This is a very complex question! I'll try to answer as much as I can.
Firstly, consider what your customer's requirements include. For example:
Will competncies be used? If so,
Do you need to define a competency framework or does one already exist?
Will competencies be managed inside or outside of appraisals (or both)?
Whic competencies will be managed inside appraisals?
Will competencies be linked to work structures (e.g. BG, ORG, Job, Position)?
Will competencies be used in OLM?
Will Objectives be managed? If so,
Will you cascade objectives (i.e. set objectives at the top of the organisation and cascade them downwards)?
Will objectives be 'parallel'? (ie.e managers and employesse manage their own objectives between them).
Will objectives be part of te appraisal process?
Will you have a library of objectives which can be shared?
What form will your appraisal process take? For example,
Will managers begin the appraisal process or employees?
How many appraisals will their be in a year?
Do you need questionnaires in the appraisal? Usually you do if the standard functionality
How long will you plan last?
Will differenct groups of people have different plans?
As I said, a lot to think about!

extended memory is allocated within the address space of virtual memory, OS manage  each  page of the extended meory whether it should be allocated to physical memory or "swap", you'd think virtual memory is a layer on top of physical memory + swap, rather than "different type of memory"

parmeter for max extended memory is depending on WAS version (incl. OS version)
    e.g. for Linux and windows it's em/max_size_MB
and also it's limited by OS (sap does have os dependent EM parameters)  and em/blocksize_KB, check the note 835474 please.

  • 1Z0-548 R12 Human Capital Management Essentials Exam

I am studying for the OPN R12 Human Capital Management Essentials exam ( 1Z0-548).
following the study guide given by OPN on the GLP.
But would really like a more structured approach as to going through all the user manuals.
Looking for old past questions to practise with. Cannot find on OPN site , have asked Oracle University, they do not have .
Does anyone know a good site where 'valid' examples of pervious old test questions with correct answers to practise on can be found ?

There are not any sets of old exam questions available. Using the training resources mentioned on the website is your best bet.

  • Manage Remote Desktop Settings

We have this set to "NO" in our client settings. However, I can right click on any client in the console and start the remote desktop client and connect successfully using RDP. So what exactly does the "Manage Remote Desktop Settings"
    do?

    >Where I am still confused is what the settings apply to.
    > And what if RDP is already enabled by
me manually on a Windows machine? Than setting it to "yes" or "no" has no effect?
If "Manage Remote Desktop" settings is set to "No", then the client leaves the settings alone.  Devices should continue on with whatever they have set locally.
If "Manage Remote Desktop" settings is set to "Yes", then the client will change the settings on devices to enable RDP and, optionally, add permitted viewers to the local "Remote Desktop Users" group or require network level authentication. according
    to what you specify.

  • My mac os 10.4.11 desktop requires authorization to copy a file to it.

my mac os 10.4.11 desktop requires authorization to copy a file to it.
I was trying to install some software on my moms computer and she forgot her login password so I changed the passwords on her login and the root user login to the same password. Ever since I have done that her desktop asks for authorization every time I try to move a file to it which after suppling the password it will copy it instead of move it. I tried changing the root to a different password thinking it may have somthing to do with that but it does the same thing. Any ideas?
    Thanks
    John

It was a permissions problem. My desktop was set to read only. As far as the root user All I did was change its password. Will that activate the root user? I do not see a root user account when I boot in. There is only My login and other to choose from. I booted into the install disk and ran disk utility to correct my permissions and that fixed the desktop. If the root is active how do I deactivate it? I was reading that I need to do this via netinfo manager. Is that correct? If so any layman's terms on how to use this program? Thanks for all the help!!

  • Talent Management Enhancement pack 4  Business Function HCM_TCM_CI-1

This business function contains some new job architecture functionality that we would like to utilize.  These new object types are functional name (FN) and job family (JF).  We do not plan to configure any of the talent management functionality because we will not be using it at this time.  Activating this business function also activates a functionality called Embedded Search which requires TREX 7.1.  We do not plan to do any of the configuration for the embedded search functionality either at this time as we don't think we will need it.
My question is, is anyone aware of any issues that might arise  or what other SAP functionality that might be impacted by moving this business function into our Production environment without doing any of the configuration.  We have implemented SAP Payroll, Benefits, Org management, Personnel Administration, eRecruiting and Learning.
Thanks in advance for any advise you can provide.

    Hi Kathy:
In a nutshell, you shouldn't run into any issue.  You're just going to get a host of new web dynpro apps, OM data, and infotypes for the Central Person (the 74XX infotypes).  If you don't use them, then that's fine, it won't hurt anything.
You should be just fine using the HRP1001 450 relationships from JF to FN and C to help drive your job architecture.  You would potentially need to use transaction HRTMC_PPOM to manage your job family/functional area relationships, but you won't negatively impact anything you have already implemented.
If you're not going to use any of the Talent Mgmt functionality, you also don't need to worry about enterprise search or TREX.  I'm assuming you aren't using Succession Planning in eRecruiting, right?  If you do ever consider using the Talent Management functionality you've now implemented, you will have to migrate data over from the old eRecruiting version of Succession Planning.  Other than that, you should be good to go.
    Hope that helps!
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Talent Management - Talent Search and Enterprise Search

    Hi All,
We are on ECC 6, Portal 7 SP3.
We are using Talent Management Business Package. Under Talent Management-> Talent Information, there is an iView called Talent Search(which is based on the Webdynpro ABAP "hrtmc_search").
For this Search functionality I have read that SAP Netweaver Enterprise Search is needed.
    My question is:
    1. Is TREX required for Talent Search. I've read that it can be integrated with Enterprise Search. Please note that we are not using KM and Collaboration.
    2. Is it necessary to integrate AS Java with Enterprise Search since it will only be used for Talent Search iView which is in any case a webdynpro abap application.
So in this case Enterprise Search will only be integrated with AS ABAP / ERP system - Is this assumption correct.
Your input and help is much appreciated..
    RD

    Hi RD,
the TREX you will need for this will be specific to HCM and called via HCM's own strategy in ECC 6.0. This - for all I know - should be through AS ABAP for indexing and AS Java for searching.
This should have nothing to do with the Portal's access to TREX, as the functionality is HCM's, even if provided to Portal in an iView. For the specifics, please check your HCM Master Guide and other documentation and/or discuss with your technical consultant for ECC 6.0.
    Best, Karsten

  • Talent Management (EhP4) - cannot find structural authorization profiles

    Hi All,<br/><br/>
I have looked in 3 different SAP ECC6.0 EhP4 system for the Talent Management structural authorization profiles stated in the IMG documentation and on the help.sap.com website. The profiles are:<br/><br/>
    TMS_PROFILE<br/>
    TMS_ALL<br/>
    TMS_MAN_PROF<br/><br/>
There are also several "sub" profiles for TMS_PROFILE.<br/><br/>
To take an example from help.sap.com on their Authorizations page (http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/7b/6f92413c3a2e7be10000000a1550b0/content.htm ), the SAP_TMC_SUPER_TALENT_MANA_SPEC clearly indicates the TMS_ALL structural authorization profile is in the standard system:<br/><br/>
    Authorizations for talent management superusers<br/><br/>
For more information, see Talent Management Superuser.<br/><br/>
The structural authorization profile TMS_ALL is also available as a template for the Talent Management Superuser.<br/><br/>
For more information, see Customizing for Talent Management and Talent Development under Basic Settings ® Authorizations in Talent Management ® Define Structural Authorizations.<br/><br/>
So... does anybody know anything about these and where I can find them? Do they require some form of activation outside of the standard switch activations for Talent Management? I've looked in several tcodes (SU01,PCFG, OOSP etc) for them but no luck.<br/><br/>
Any help gratefully received and points will be awarded for helpful answers and solutions!<br/><br/>
    Best regards,<br/><br/>
    Luke

    Hey Luke:
Could you do me a favor and look in client 000 (the SAP delivered client)?  You generally need a basis person for this activity, and I can't find one now on my own end to confirm my theory.  However I'm pretty sure if you went to OOSP in client 000, you'd see those profiles.  They were either never copied over from 000 or your security friends deleted all the profiles that are SAP delivered in the clients you're looking at.
I could talk for a super boring amount of time about the security concept of "SAP delivers too much access with their roles so we don't use them" that a good number of security teams use - but that's a story for a different day.
Take a peek in 000 and let me know what you see.  If they're there, you can always have your basis chums copy them over to your clients that you want them in (presumably your security config client).
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Talent Management : To hide 'Obsolete' section

    Hi,
We have a requirement in Talent Management.
Requirement is : The obsolete section should be hidden in the Talent Mgmt development plan in the portal views but they should be viewable/accessible through R/3.
Is it possible to implement these changes?

    Hi Pooja,
You should be able to hide it in the Development Plan - it might require some changes to the WebDynpro. I'm not even sure if this is displayed in the backend anyway so there should be no problem there.
    Thanks,
    Luke

  • Add custom embedded region or link in talent management

We are doing a proof of concept implementation of Oracle Talent
Management. As part of this implementation we have been requested to
add Salary change functionality to the employee performance appraisal
process. Usually this process is only used to evaluate
competencies, objectives and overall performance and does not include
    salary information.
    Our Thoughts:
Oracle provides out of the box the Salary change process on its own.
There is an entry page for the values, PRatePG, and then a review
page, ReviewPG. We would like to take the majority of the
functionality on those 2 pages and add that functionality to the 2
similar pages used for performance review. On the performance review
side the equivalent pages are the entry page MAFinalRatingsPG and the
    review page,MAFinalRatingsRevPG.
We are looking for the best way to move forward regardless to
incorporate the functionality of entering and reviewing the salary
into the performance appraisal set of pages which don't currently
contain the data or functionality at all for salary.
We have considered also going a complete custom route, however the
functionality on the Salary screens are intricate and have several
PPR elements. Additionally, there was the thought to somehow add the
Salary page functionality as an additional page on the page flow as a
customization. This might still be an option as well. We are open
    to any ideas.
