G4 PowerMac Duel Monitors

Need some information, if you please.
My G4 tower came with two plug-ins to accomodate two monitors.  I still have the Apple connection for VGA that came with the Mac, but I need the second option (male).  The male end has 30 Pins and 2 tiny pins on either sided of a flat pin on one end, the opposit end is for a VGA plugin.
I don't have a book anymore, and would sure like to know how to descsribe the second option so that I could order a replacment.
The monitor plug-in looks like this one

The G4 Power Mace looks like this one

Help would sure be appreciated.

  • How to display a duel monitor in my Macbook pro?

Hi recently I brought a 22 inch LCD monitor I would to make a duel monitor with my laptop how do I do that cause i have try out many way but still not display out. Please help.. Thanks in both window and OS

I set mine up in OSX and it works fine in Windoz - both under Parallels and with CrossOver.
Don't understand why yours doesn't work - unless you are using dual boot. If so have you gone into Windoz Control Panel and set up the monitor or installed the driver that came with the monitor. Windows now says that drivers aren't needed but many manufacturers include them as they do most of the work for you.
Hope this is of some help.

  • How to adjust hot corners for duel monitors?

Anyone know how to adjust the hot corners so that I can use all 4 corners of my primary monitor and not my second?
Right now I have to move the cursor all the way across both monitors to the bottom right corner on my second monitor to activate it. In Lion I believe they had a duel monitor adjustment to fix this problem.
    Any ideas in Mountain Lion?

Actually, on top of that, is there also a way to make the menu bar appear on both screens? Having a window in a different monitor from the menu bar is a bit inefficient.

  • Does Yosemite support mac pro duel monitors?

Does Yosemite on early 2008 mac pro support duel monitors to the extent to make one desk top?

as long as that box is checked, each display is independent.
If you want the original "Extended Desktop":
    Uncheck the box
close the preference pane or switch to another and save changes.

  • Duel Monitors Mac Mini

I am getting a mac mini and want to hook up duel monitors on it. Each monitor has a single VGA, DVI, and HDMI port. For the first one I will use the HDMI to DVI adapter and for the second I would like to use the MiniDisplay(AKA thunderbolt) to DVI adapter. I heard some people saying it wont work for a second monitor because its passive and not active and stuff like that. How true is that?

    FYI: It's, "dual," not, "duel."
A "duel" is something 2 people do with pistols.

  • Duel Monitor Issues

Hi I'm new to the forums.
My company just bought a Lanovo 3000 J110 from tigerdirect, and I am trying to install an extra videocard to the PCI-e slot. Its a NVIDEA GeForce7 NX7300LE. It was the cheapest I could find locally on short notice.
Every time I put in the videocard (or a very old PCI video I finally found on the shelves), I keep getting beeping noises. I replaced the standard 250W PSU with a 380W I found also at work. I still get the same problem. I've checked the bios, video setup to the following:
       Select Active Vide: Automatic
       DVMT 4.0 Mode: Auto
originally this was setup for the onboard video card.
I can't seem to figure out why this is not working, tested the motherboard, works fine (I have a few PCI ethernet cards lying around, popped those in got no problems.) The beeping happens even on the old video card (has no 3d acceleration) still. PSU is perfectly fine, boots up windows perfectly so I know its not that either. Been looking around boards all day trying to find a fix.
The machine runs perfectly fine, upgraded the 512 MB by adding a 1GB RAM, runs XP Pro smoothly. I just need duel monitor for a bunch of applications I have to keep up and running and monitoring for most of the day.
Any suggestions to correct this problem?

Yep its installed in the correct slot (#17), checked the guide and it was installed correctly.
Was looking over the specs of the NX7300LE TD256EH and can't find anything saying PCI-e x16, it just says PCI-e certified. After doing some more scrounging around (basically google searches). I have located a few things saying this card is a PCI-e x16 card. The following link is the same make and model of the graphics card I have. The Interface Information is near the bottom of the page.
    http://www.cuttingedgecomputers.ca/shopexd.asp?id=2318
    Interface
    PCI-E 16X
    VGA, DVI-I, S-Video/RCA
Before I left work last nite, I figured it would be that the 380W powersupply was just not big enough, so I found a 480W and slapped that in. Still the beep warning and not booting up windows (or anything on the screen at all).

  • Setting up duel Monitors on a G5 - sometimes it's not working

I have a 23 ADC cineama display on a duel 2.0 G5 (the original). I want to hook up a 15" VGA monitor on the side of it using the VGA>DVI converter that came with the G5.
I tried this once, and it worked. About a week later, I went to connect it again, and they just mirrored each other (not to mention that the 15" somehow took precidence and changed my 23 inch to the 15's resolution).
Is there something I'm missing? I could not find anything in sys preferences that appeared to directly address this. In other words, I couldn't find the "if you want the thing to work, click here".
    Any help is appreciated.

Well it's a little hard to tell you when I don't have two monitors connected. The options only show when you have two displays/monitors connected. Here is a PDF that seems to give instructions for both OS 9 and OS X, so just scroll down to the OS X instructions.

  • Powermac 7500 monitor compatibility

    Hi all,
I have a PM 7500 that was hooked up to a HUGE 19" CRT that I want to dig out of mothballs for my kids. the monitor, though, just has to go, and I'm hesitant to put much money into any display for such an older system. SO, my question is which (currently available)monitors will still work with this. it is the original video card that supported, I think, 1280x1024, and I think the software was 8.1 or so (I may revert to 7.6). viewable size is not a big issue, and a smaller crt would be ok, but given how low some 15 or 17 lcd's have gotten, I could spring for that. the 7500 could use a vga monitor and I already have the old griffin monitor adaptor thingy that compensated for differences between pc and mac (inline between mac and display) many thanks!! has original video memory too, which I think was 2mb, expandable to 4.

If the amount of money spent for the replacement is the primary consideration and you just want a smaller display on the desktop, check for thrift stores in your area that accept donated computer equipment. As the prices for LCD displays have come down, many working CRT displays are donated to charitable organizations for the tax deduction. Over the past few years, I've bought six displays from local thrift stores and (fortunately) haven't had a problem with any of them yet. For a 15"-17" CRT, you'd probably pay about $15-$25 (or less), depending on how many they're trying to move from the shelves. As for LCD displays, there is an optimal resolution/refresh rate to be supported by the graphics controller. Even though I never considered connecting an LCD display to one of my 7500s, I installed ATI Rage Pro 8 MB PCI video cards in them. The screen redraws are much faster (especially for internet use), than the onboard graphics controller can provide.
If the 7500 has been in storage for some time, you'll undoubtedly need to replace the motherboard's 3.6 volt, ½AA lithium battery. An extremely weak or dead battery can cause a number of startup problems, not to mention the incorrect date/time alert each time you power it ON. The battery can be found at Radio Shack (extremely overpriced), battery retailers, or various online sources.

  • Duel Monitor issue with video in full screen mode

Hi, im not sure if this is the right forum but here is my question
I have an external monitor connected to my MacBook Pro 13" model...i want to be able to have a video in full screen on my external monitor but still use my laptop to do work and browse the web
However, ever time i put it in full screen mode it blackens my laptop screen
how do i stop this from happening

I've tried moving the menu bar to the monitor...didnt work
ive tried playing the video on my mac but it just blackens the monitor
What do you mean by the adaptor - i have what ever software etc that came with the mac...and then from apple i bought the mini display port to VGA adaptor...the monitor is a new LG W2261 Full HD...currently i am connect via the blue VGA cable
it works if im playing games full screen...i just have to move the menu bar in the arrangement option...but it doesnt work for videos
i havent tried another monitor cos i dont have one - but i did try another account and its the same effect
surely it should be simple - what if i was to do a powerpoint presentation connect to a TV or projector, normally you can see your screen for the separate controls which the other displays the presentation

  • Why is there no True Duel Monitoring in SG?

Why dose SG disable the video on my Mac's screen when I enable the video out through my matrox card? Is there something that I am not enabling correctly?
It says Duel Screen or SDI output Activated where the image used to be... Why can't the image stay there and be output at the same time?
Is there and update coming soon to fix this?
It is such a common set up to have a computer that you are working on and making the corrections on and then a screen for your client viewing... But disabling the video on the computer makes this imposssible for professional work...
    Thank you
    Edit:
Another reason this would be so helpful...
You could edit and move your masks around on the computer screen and the client would not see it moving around on the viewing montor...
This all helps with better presentation... i.e. keeping all the GUI crazy looking stuff on my screen and a nice presentation of the final image on the screen I am having the client watch...

    Agree with you Vladimir.
However, how would Microsoft or Security product vendors make more money if Microsoft provides everything in one OS ? Moreover, we are talking about
Windows NOT Linux (wherein almost everything comes free of cost ;-))

  • Mac mini and duel monitors

I want to purchase a mac mini (2011 model), and have two Saumsung SyncMaster monitors that I want to hook up to it.  What cords do I need to be able to run both of them through the mac mini?

Have a brand new Mac Mini and having trouble trying to hook them up, specifically to two
ViewSonic VX2250WM-LED monitors.  Everyone I talk to says to get a DVI D splitter so that one DVI goes into adapter and the other two branch out to the monitors.  This hasn't worked so far and every where else I read mentions tons of other ways of doing this.  Since DVD D splitters are impossible to find, what else is there?

  • Duel Monitor

I need to setup two VGA monitors but not sure if what i have in mind will work so just need a little advise..This PC is new out of the box Pavilion 500-205T CTO desktop  with the nvida card, it has the standard DVI and HDMI ports, connecting one monitor to the DVI to VGA adaptor runs one monitor... Will purchasing a HDMI to VGA adapter work to get the second monitor running?  Will this cause any issues with display (need both displays to match).  Both monitors are exactly the same, new out of box HP W2072a 20" diagnoal led backlit LCD monitors.

Ok i purchased this Honeywell Active HDMI to VGA M/F Adapter Converter Dongle [White] backed up by Honeywell Limited Lifetime Warranty... i'll let you know if it works... unless someone already know....

  • Mac mini duel monitors

Ok, so I have 2 monitors. One is a DVI and another is a VGA. I can not use the duelhead2go. Will a usb video card work? I am not trying to mirror it, I am trying to expand my desktop space. I have been researching this topic for hours, and I am not sure about it. I have found a dvi splitter cable that has one dvi female and another vga female. Will this work? Also, will a dvi splitter or a vga splitter work if I use the dvi to vga adapter that came with the mac mini work? Thanks

    Hi Snake X,
Be careful. Many of these adaptors don't say that they work with Macs. You need drivers for them to work with Macs. They don't just plug in and work like some other type of devices, at least not as of yet. Read the system requirements for any device that you purchase before buying.
If your Mac Mini is 1.83 GHz, then it's an Intel processor. To double check what you have, go to the Apple menu and select "About This Mac". Look at the processor line.
Mac OS X 10.4 was called Tiger, not Panther.

  • Duel monitors for Lightroom

    How can I use a 2006 iMac as second monitor for 2007 iMac? Early 2006 w/osx10.6.8-mid 2007 w/osx10.9.1.

Well, I would say that dual monitors are a minority, rather than a majority -> So I can't really knock adobe too hard for not having detachable tool bars.
But then again. . .PS2 and PS elements both have this feature, so it is a bit disappointing not to have dual monitor support like this.
I do run dual monitors. . .but the monitors are not identical and do not run at the same resolution. I suspect that this is not an uncommon application . . simply dragging the window over won't work for me.
I would take points off for this ommission. . but not that many. I am much more upset about writing information into JPEGS ;)
