General Task Error although Agent is found

Hi,
I have a little puzzle that I cannot figure out: I have a rule for a general task. The rule finds the agent for the task. However, there seems to be a error when the task is sent to the agents inbox. Due to the fact that it is a general task it is sent to everyones inbox. Since it is not the rule that is failing, I am wondering how I can avoid the task to go to everyones inbox. I have checked the "Terminate if Rule Resolution has no Result" in the rule.
Please help!
/Elvez

Hi,
As u said "Terminate if Rule Resolution has no Result"  is there in rule but can u tell me that, is the check box for is clicked or not, If it's clicked and your if your rule will fail then definately it will send workitem to every one's inbox,
But to avoid  this there is someting call as secondery priority in responsibilty based rule. where you can maintain one more responsibilty with some default users and some globle condition in it ..
Ex .. If  your promary rule is having some parameter
costcenter = 100.
user = A.
costcenter = 200.
user = B.
costcenter = 300.
user = C.
with 99 priorty .
and it's getting fails caz of input provided by wf cointainer (i.e. 301) ..
then you can maintain one default role
costcenter = 0 to 400.
user = D.
with 01 priorty .
So first rule will goto higher priorty and if it ll fail then it wil not go to error and also consider secondery priorty and give default agent maintained in it..

Dev.

  • General task doubt

    Hi,
i have created a dailog task and made a general task in my workflow.
i have done agent assignment through rule for this task.
    My Question is,
is there any problem making task as genral task?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sankar.

    Hi
If you have made a task a general task - and the agent resolvement fails, the workitem will be send to <b>all</b> your SAP users. So in my opinion you should avoid this whenever possible, and if not - you should always make an effort of ensuring that the correct agent always are found.
A solution I often recommend is to use your Security Roles as your allowed agents. By doing this you can ensure, that the agent receiving a task also is allowed to perform it,
If you are using a workflow rule, this can be archived by flagging the "Terminate if Rule resolution Without Result".

  • No administrator found for the task error message

    Dear all,
I got the message "No administrator found for the task" when the MSS user try to approve and overtime. When i double click on the error for details, it actually give
WF notification:work item cannot be executed message no. 5W141. As got overtime, i am using the standard task 20000460 which i already maintain the agent as general task. I am using the Agent (Default Rule) rule number 157 (Superior (chief position)).
I tested it in my development and it works, however it does not work in my production. Do i miss any setting or parameter?
My R/3 backend is 4.7 with Enterprise Portal 6.
    Thanks

You hvae to refresh the organizational assignment and you can do it from SBWP txn ,
    1.Execute SBWP.
2.On Menu clcik on Settings -
    > Workflow Settings -
    > Refresh Organizational Assignment .
and now you try to execute the workitem now you find see the error.

  • Agent determination of 'general' task fails....

I have  a task in the workflow which i have kept as general task
I have attached a rule to it.
when the rule doesnt return any agents, the workitem is sent to all the SAP users
this is a very big problem, could you please suggest how to prevent that ?
if the rule doesnt give any agents then the workflow should hang, it should go to all the SAP users.
    thanks and regards,

    Hi Imthiaz,
I have already checked the workflow log and I  know very well why my workflow is in error.
My requirement is that even if  the workflow goes into error,  this message entry should not be created.
As per my knowledge, this is created in workflow administrators inbox due to setting in SWU3 -- Schedule Background Job for Work Items with Errors
But it doesnt look like the above settings effects this message creation. There should be some setting somwhere right ?
Also, it is only in quality system not dev
Dev -- workflow goes in error -- no message seen
QA -- workflow goes in error -- message seen in workflow initiators inbox
    please help.....
    thank you

  • I have assigned standard task as General Task in agent assignment but why there is a red flag beside the agent assignment property in task property like the image below?

I have assigned standard task as General Task in agent assignment but why there is a red flag beside the agent assignment property in task property like the image below?

    Hi Atiq
    Now that's concerning.....!!!
This error usually shows up when the workflow is not able to resolve the outcome of the decision....no branch is there for the selected decision.
Since, the standard workflow is also going in an error....this is something wrong...
Did anyone play around with the standard decision task?
I am not sure if this will help, try generating the task and standard workflow by executing the FM SWD_WFD_REPLICATE_FROM_9999 from SE37 directly. First, generate the task (give full task ID TS00008267 as the input and execute; and then the standard verification workflow in the next exec).
Try and test again...if this works, generate your custom workflow again like this.
The above is a pure guess and I am not sure if this will work.

My Transport route looks something like
System GND ZGND > 300 System GNQ 300> 300 System GNP

  • Error 7: File not found occurs in 8.2 from transition of 4.1. Specifying the file in file dialog returns error although file is in the directory.

Copied a program from 4.1 to 8.2 recently and receive an error 7: File not found at open file+.vi.  The program is built so a file dialog will pop up and ask for the destination of the file.  Eventhough there is a file in the specified directory, an error is returned.  Running open file+.vi by itself returns no error with the same file designation.  Any clues?

    noviceak,
Welcome to the NI Discussion Forums.
I created a quick VI in LabVIEW 4.1 that displays a file dialog and then passes that file path to "Read Characters from File.vi" (which in turn calls Open File+.vi).  I then opened this file in LabVIEW 8.2 and ran it successfully (see code screenshot below).
When you say there is a file in the specified directory are you using the file dialog to browse to the directory or to select the specific file?  Open File+.vi expects the path to a file rather than a directory - that is C:\folder\file.txt rather than C:\folder.  You might also want to create an indicator or probe to see what path is being passed to Open File+ to ensure it is what you expect.
I feel like I should also say that in the days (years) inbetween LabVIEW 4.1 and 8.2 the file operation VIs have changed significantly.  While the old Open File+.vi still lives in vi.lib for compatibility purposes we no longer recommend using it for new applications.
I hope this helps and again, welcome to the community.

  • Task properties - General task -  Partner profile

    Hi Experts,
I'm using user decision step for manager approval, and in development server i've selected task as general task in task properties and everything was working fine in development server.
When above workflow development transported to testing server, the task properties are not transported. So, agent assignment is de-activated. And when i'm trying  to set general task attribute in task properties, its saying "Entry in outbound table not found" error message. Can anyone help me in resolving this.
Entry in outbound table not found
    Message no. E0400
    Diagnosis
No partner profile (outbound parameter) could be found using the following key:
    DC1CLNT10/LS//HRMD_ABA///
This refers to the key fields in table EDP13:
    RCVPRN  Partner number
    RCVPRT  Partner type
    RCVPFC  Partner function
    MESTYP  Logical message
    MESTYP  Message code
    MESCOD  Message function
    TEST    Test indicator
    Thanks in advance,
    Siva Sankar.

    Hi Siva,
I have always found that I need to go make change the agent assignment on custom tasks to 'General' as the workflows get transported - or you can investigate here:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/d00a1cb4-913c-2c10-d991-caf663ab9b16&overridelayout=true
    As Jocelyn Dart has said:
Folks, This is an oldie but a goodie.
You need to execute program RHMOVE30 to add your General Task settings to Transports.
Enter your task numbers (you can enter a workflow and use eval path TASK_HIER to pick up all sub tasks) Select the Transport checkbox
    On the second screen
Select all and press Add to Transport
Select all again and press Transport/Delete
You should get a message confirming they have been added to your change request.
You will see infotype 1217 entries on your transport request.
However your issue seems to be a different one.  I searched and it looks as though you need to check partner profiles using WE20?  Have you tried this?
    Hope this helps,
    Sue

  • Agent Not Found for rule 168 in Travel Management WF WS20000040

    Hi,
I got a strange error occurring that I can not quite figure out. I am using a copy of a standard delivered SAP Work flow for Trip Approval (WS20000040) that is identical to the SAP delivered workflow except without the expense department tasks (we only need manager approval). I also updated the agent assignment for tasks TS20000131, TS20000139, and TS20000189 to be General Tasks. When an employee creates a trip, the workflow is started properly and goes to the first workflow step which is user decision step 416. It uses rule 168 to determine the manager of the workflow initiator. This works properly. The manager goes to their inbox and executes this workflow step. The trip changed and trip approved buttons work fine, but if the manager chooses the reject button, the form is closed and the workflow stops with an error. The next step down the reject path is an activity step 476 - enter and send message. This runs task TS20000139. The agent assignment also uses rule 168 to determine the manager of the workflow initiator. The same agent should be choosen for both this step and the previous step since the workflow initiator is the same for both and the same rule is being used. The advance with dialog check box is checked in both steps. Both step refer to tasks that are both marked as synchronus object methods and object method with dialog.
For testing purposes, I changed the agent determination in both workflow steps to be the workflow initiator and ran it. The workflow stopped at the approve trip facts step as expected and when I choose reject trip, I was taken immediately to the create mail task that task TS20000139 runs as it should. I tried creating a trip as the employee and the manager and it work properly in both occasions regardless of which user the trip was created under when just workflow initiator is used for agent determination.
I ran SWI2_DIAG to look at the errors that occurred when it stopped in error when I used rule 168. According to the error message, the approve trip fact step completed successfully, but the enter and send message step failed with no agent found. Following is the error message:
Workflow WS90000048 no. 000000277688 activity 0000000476 role 'AC00000168': No agent found
What I don't understand is that the agent determination for the approve trip facts step which works perfectly uses the same agent determination as the enter and send message step which is terminating with an error. Also when I change both steps to use workflow initiator as the agent, then they both work perfectly.
    Help, Please

    Thanks Martin,
I used your suggestion and passed the actual agent from the prior task to the container and then used this value as an expression to determine the agent for the step that was causing me pain. Now the workflow step is continuing properly and automatically bringing up the create message step as expected.
    Arghadip,
I tried your idea about creating a copy of the standard delivered workflow and even set it as a general task and I got the same result as with the standard SAP (error with no agent found).
    Thanks again for everyone's assistance

  • Ad-hoc agent not found ??? :-(

    Hi everybody,
I was trying to activate the workflow por PO Approval (1 step):
    - Event Linking: WS14000089
    - Agent Assignment: TS14007970
I assigned the agents without any problem, but.. when I want to test my config, I receive this error:
    "Ad-hoc agent not found "
I have no clue about this =(    I dont know if this behavior is due to a configuration or the abap guy modified the standard WF   =(
    Any idea ?
    Thank you !
    Diego

    Diego,
As Pierre explained, the PO standard WF in SRM assigns agent dynamically in the WF.
You have to define the task as a general task to "allow" the WF to assign the right agent (purchaser's manager in your case).
In fact if you want yto define the approver yourself, use the n-level WF based on BADI for PO.
    Regards.

  • Work flow's Task Error?

    Hi,
I am new to work flow and created a initial work flow to display the material.
I designed a work flow as following contents:
The work flow will ask you that, would you like to display the material.
If yes, It will display the material else, send the mail to SAP inbox Business Workplace with the negative message.
System is generated a work flow number and there is no inconsistence in the same.
But, it is giving error. I am giving the existing material number and pressing execution button.
The error is Task started under work item ID 410252 current status: Error .
If I get success then I am going to start working on real scenario of notification display with the same prospects for my client requirement.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks

    hi,
this error may be because of two resons
    1)Agent Assignment
    2)Binding
In workflow there r 5 conatiner...u have to do binding
for this which business obj u r using...ceate it in container like workflow container , task container.
if there is any event which is triggering ur workflow...chk binding there also.
n check wether ur task status whether it is released or not.
Do agent assignment n make it General task.
    Hope this will help u...

  • Workflow for PO release strategy agent not found

    Hi all,
I m beginner in the workflow. i  want to create a workflow for the PO. release strategy I have done all the settings in the SPRO for the release strategy. I have copied the standard workflow definition  WS20000075 also done the binding with object type BUS2012. in the steps 'Release of purchase order' i have mentioned the task TS20000166 i.e. 'Release of purchase order' and also maintain the AC Rule 20000027 i.e. 'Person responsible for PO release' for agents. But still its not getting the agents. the workflow is getting triggered but its not getting the agent. What else setting I need to do to get this done.
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards.

Very well put Rick. In my case if i simulate this workflow from swdd transaction then it works fine but the same workflow when initiated from ME21N doesn't work and throws same error.
    1. I have copied standard workflow and task 166 is throwing error.
"Resolution of rule AC20000027 for task TS20000166: no agent found"
    2. I have recreated the step but still the workflow is throwing error.
    3. If I execute the rule individually (PFAC_DIS) with a specific PO then the rule works fine. The rule executes the below mentioned exit successfully.
    4. I am using exit to determine the agent, the workflow works fine if I don't use the exit. The exit is EXIT_SAPLEBNF_005. I am just pulling the agent from a ztable.
Please advise if you can help as I have not seen anyone answering.
by the way irrespective of the explicit rule update in the workflow the step executes AC20000027 by default.
Any help on above is appreciated.

  • General task list: component selection from BOM - possible in batch input?

    Hi experts,
for the assignment of non-stock material to general task lists I have followed the advice from message[6115684|Re: General Task List Components;.
So what I have done is:
    - Include non-stock material in BOM
    - Assign BOM to general task list header
When clicking on the "Component selection" button in the task list components, I can select a component.
When entering the material number of the component directly though, I get an error: "Material type X and line item type L not compatible" (CO135).
I would like to upload the general task lists with a batch input recording, but I can't figure out how to select components.
    Any thoughts?
    Kind regards,
    Andreas

    Hello,
We have the same requirement to load tasklists (change & create).  We are using the function modules EAM_TASKLIST_CREATE and EAM_TASKLIST_CHANGE.  However, i cannot get a non-stock BOM item to process.  Has anyone got this working?
    Thanks,
    Clay.
EDIT: Found the answer - simply fill in the fields for BOM on the component (STLTY, STLNR, STLKN, and STLAL).

  • General observer error

    Hi
I have written an application for SBO SP0 PL7. This program uses the diapi and runs outside of SAP.
It is constantly scanning for ascii files which basically contain goods received information.
The program works fine most of the time but occasionally it crashes with a 'General observer error'. The customer seems to think it is something to do with the number of transactions it is processing, it seems to crash after roughly 9,000
    transactions.
I know the data is fine because the customer simply restarts the program and it is fine.
Can anyone suggest anything please ?
    Regards Andy

    Hi Andy,
Try running a test with a large number of transactions and monitor the memory consumption through Task Manager. Your code could be perfect in terms of instantiating and disposing the objects you use but if the object itself is leaking memory through its own methods then there is nothing you can really do about it. That is why it's a good idea to test using the latest patch for the DI API. SAP will be correcting any memory leaks that are found in their objects. You can check the info.txt file that comes with the patch to see what DI API issues have been fixed.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen
