Generate a text .sql

i want to know how to exported objects to database into a document text in sql langage.
THANKS.

You could create a script for this as follows:
set termout off -- this will not display the data to the screen
set feedback off -- will not return the number of rows selected
set heading off -- will not display column header info
set lines 900 -- this should be set to the longest value, dependent on you table(s) size
set echo off -- will not redisplay the command(s) you enter
spool \my_database.txt
select * from my_table
-- OR
select fld1|| ';' || fld2 || ';' || fld3 from my_table -- this will separate the fields by semicolon
-- after you select from all you tables OR you can create separate files for each tables
spool off
i want to know how to exported objects to database into a document text in sql langage.
THANKS.

  • Generate a text .sql  (another question)

    thanks for your script V. garcia about generate a text .sql but, i want to know if i want to generate a text sql with a database but i want to take juste object without row inside. In fact, i want empty base, juste object? Is it possible?
    thanks for your answer.

    Do you just want a description of the object or do you want a script for recreating it.
    For a description, just type desc in sqlplus.
    For recreating, you could construct the sql command using a select from user_tables.
    Alternatively, use the exp/imp utilities, specifying you do not want data.
    You can use imp directly to recreate the table, or the list option to obtain the command which can be put into a script.

  • Generating XML from SQL queries and saving to a xml file?

    Hi there,
    I was wondering if somebody could help with regards to the following:
    Generating XML from SQL queries and saving to a xml file?
    We want to have a stored procedure(PL/SQL) that accepts an order number as an input parameter(the procedure
    is accessed by our software on the client machine).
    Using this order number we do a couple of SQL queries.
    My first question: What would be our best option to convert the result of the
    queries to xml?
    Second Question: Once the XML has been generated, how do we save that XML to a file?
    (The XML file is going to be saved on the file system of the server that
    the database is running on.)
    Now our procedure will also have a output parameter which returns the filename to us. eg. Order1001.xml
    Our software on the client machine will then ftp this XML file(based on the output parameter[filename]) to
    the client hard drive.
    Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanking you,
    Francois

  • Radio button on a from generated with PL/SQL procedure

    Hi,
    I have a form generated with PL/SQL procedure. This procedure calls another procedure on 'Submit'. If I select value for the radio button, it works fine. But if no value is given to the radio button on the form, it gives error. Is the radio button mandatory field by nature? or do I need to give default value some how? How do I make the radio button optional? so that I can call the next procedure without passing the param.

    Hi,
    As far as i understand from your requirements, it like you need all the data item leve into a text file.
    You can fetch all the relevant data from variuos tables and then use  GUI_Download into a text file.

  • Error while generating wrapper pl/sql with JDeveloper 10.1.3 (production)

    Hello,
    I'm generating a webservice from pl/sql package which returns a collection.
    JDeveloper generates wrapper pl/sql which gives errors when executed in the database because it consists of code like:
    PROCEDURE "NAME"$PROC_NAME_A
    The " creates database errors. When i remove these " the packages compiles.
    But when i insert the service based upon this procedure, I get an "PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "$" when expecting something else" error.This looks like the same code is inserted again.
    Anyon an idea to get rid of these problems?

    Hello Everyone,
    I need to generate a flat text file from a portal screen. I have no idea as
    to what is the best way to do this. I have a screen on which i will have a
    push button which when pressed needs to run a procedure which generates a
    text file.
    I don't know whether this is possible also or not.
    Any help in the matter would be great.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can create a procedure like this.
    create or replace procedure op1
    as
    begin
    htp.init;
    owa_util.mime_header('plain/text', false);
    htp.p('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename='||'output.txt');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    htp.p('My output is text...');
    exception
    when others then
    null;
    end;
    This will direct the ouput to a file called output.txt.

  • Archiving files generated by PL/SQL program using UTL_FILE package

    Dear All,
    We have on PL/SQL package that is generating some data files using UTL_FILE package in one specific directory.
    I am working on concurrent program of type host(unix script) to move generated file to some archive folder.
    Now the problem is owner of the files generated by PL/SQL is oracle and file permissions of the generated files are 644(Only read permission for group and others).
    Concurrent program is using an another os user applmgr to execute the script attached with concurrent program.
    Because applmgr is not having write permission on the files, hence mv command is failing.
    Please suggest me how to resolve this issue.
    Regards
    Devender Yadav

    Hi;
    I just think that, you can create one sh which is chancing permission of related path owner for applmgr user and put it on crontab and it can run every 1 min.

  • How to go to the next Page while generating a text file ??

    All,
    I am generating a text File dynamically based on the information from the Database. I need to give some Page breaks after every 80 lines. Does any one has any clue how can I do that.
    I am able to generate the file though.
    Also I need to set the Font to Courier.
    Please let me know if anyone has done anything like this.
    I am using "BufferedWriter" for generating the text file.
    Thanx

    Basically - I have to repeat the header if the records goes to the next Page. My records can increase decrease dynamically as the data is coming from the Database.
    I do not know how to find out whether it has reached the next page or not ??
    If you know by any chance how can I repeat the header once it goes to the next Page that would be a great help.
    Thanx

    Thanking you,

    If you are using 9iR2 you do not need to do any of this..
    You can create an XML as an XMLType using the new SQL/XML operators. You can insert this XML into the XML DB repository using DBMS_XDB.createResource. You can then access the document from the resource. You can also return the XMLType containing the XML directly from the PL/SQL Procedure.

    Hi,
    Just a suggestion (not sure it will work) - upgrade your SAPGui to the latest one e.g. 7.10 or patch it.
    Do you see text elements if accessing the sytem using DE language ?

  • Please, I need help - How can I generate a text file with Word format?

    Hello friends at www.oracle.com ,
    is it possible for me to create a text file - that is, with TEXT_IO.fopen, and so on - that's already formatted as a Word document?
    We have a Forms program here, where it's needed to generate a text file with .RTF format, 8 centimeters margin, Times New Roman font, with size 7.
    Best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

    Hello Shay,
    sincere thanks for your answer. And, to answer your last question, I'm using client-server model.
    Since I couldn't create this .RTF file by using built-ins like TEXT_IO, I tried to generate an .RTF file using Reports, passing the parameters DESTYPE, DESNAME and DESFORMAT, as shown below.
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESTYPE', text_parameter, 'FILE');
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESNAME', text_parameter, 'c:\franklin.rtf');
    add_parameter (pl_id, 'DESFORMAT', text_parameter, 'RTF');
    However, the just generated .RTF file is uncomprehensible. After opening the file at Microsoft Word, I can see the following message at the top of file:
    This file was created by Oracle Reports. Please view this document in Page Layout mode.
    ... and informations doesn't appear as desired.
    If I can't generate such text format by using TEXT_IO, and if generating an .RTF file through Reports shows me an incomprehensible result, how can I export the selected result to an .RTF file?
    When Reports is opened, choosing Generate to file -> RTF doesn't export anything.
    Thanks, and best regards,
    Franklin Goncalves Jr.

    Hi,
    by the book these two representations are identical
    <.... />
    <....></....>
    as for the XML-parser.
    What problem are you facing with the <... /> representation?
    I will try to investigate a bit to see if the XMLBean can be forced to write the <....></....> representation.
