Generating a PDF report in maximized state

Hi,
I'm generating a report on web. It works fine. It displays the report in PDF. But when it displays it is not maximized. I've to click maximize button and maximize it. I've used the following code to mamimize it.
Add_Parameter(pl_id, 'MAXIMIZE',TEXT_PARAMETER, 'YES');
It maximizes the window in Client/Server, but it doesn't work on web. Is there any way it can be displayed in maximized state.
Thanks,
Srinivasa Karri.

Add_Parameter(pl_id, 'MAXMIZE', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'YES'); only applies to reports previewer. When you run report on the web to pdf format, it is displayed in acrobat, and we (reports) doesn't have control for the acrobat windows size. Yes, you have to manually click maximize button on the acrobat viewer.
Thanks,
-Shaun

  • How to generate a PDF Report to print all records

    Hi,
    I have two fields on the page
    1.Id
    2.year
    both are select list.
    When Id and year is selected from the list a pdf report is generated showing the details of that particular ID.
    I want to generate a pdf report for all Id's for a particular year rather than selecting each Id.
    How to do it?
    thanks,
    Ven.

    Ven,
    Your where clause should look something like this:
    AND ( :px_id = '%null%'
    OR id_code LIKE '%' || :px_id|| '%'
    Your LOV for the id item should have Yes selected on Display Null and Null display value should have something like -- All Ids --

  • Automatically generating multiple pdf reports from single(*.rpt) report file

    Post Author: msam
    CA Forum: General
    I would like to be able to automatically pass a parameter list to a single report, and have it automatically generate multiple reports (as saved pdf files), based on the parameter list.
    Is this possible?  If so, could someone point me to some documentation?  Thanks.

    What you probably need to do is generate each bio
    individually with the
    <cfdocument...> tag just the way you want them. And
    then use some of
    the advanced <cfpdf...> functionality that allows you
    to append two or
    more individual PDF's into a single large PDF.
    Here are some resources that describe some of the
    <cfpdf...> functionality.

    1) Add an upper case letter to the start of each sentence. This helps the reader to scan the text quickly, looking for the important parts. It also helps to dispel the impression that the writer is just lazy.
    2) Try to do some research on your own, summarise it and state any conclusions you have reached. Ask a specific question and generally, try not to sound so pathetic.

  • Report Builder 10 Crashing while generating to pdf

    I can get a report to show all the pages in previewer mode.
    However, when attempting to generate to pdf, report builder crashes at random times. Not at just one page, but whenever it feels like it.
    Report is 4,000 pages, but I've ran 15k page to pdf before. And it is NOT the report, it crashes on all reports.
    We've had some recent windows security updates pused to us recently, but that is it as far as system changes go.
    Environment:
    Win XP, SP3
    Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0 - 64bit Production

    Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2That is the base version of Developer Suite that you can download on OTN. I would at least start with upgrading to the latest patch, especially since you connect to an 11g database.
    Another thing: do you have this problem in Reports Builder, or on the application server? Latter case: check your AS version against the certification matrix too.

  • Generate a Sales report filtered by US State

    I need to generate a sales report by US state. Currently, I don't even see "state" as a data point on the sale reports. What can I do to make this work?

    Hi Antonio,
    Personally I would add two sales stage fields to your report. Make one of them a BIN, e.g. go to column formula and select "BIN"... Then create two groups 1 for Wons and the other for Active. The code works out something like this:
    case WHEN "Historical Sales Stage"."Sales Stage" IN ('2: Initiate Relationship', '3: Assess and Evaluate Needs') then 'Active' WHEN "Historical Sales Stage"."Sales Stage" = 'Closed/Won' then '' else "Historical Sales Stage"."Sales Stage" end
    You put a prompt on this field where the user can select whether they want to see Won/Active if they want to see all they just skip the prompt, any use to you?

  • How to generate PDF report directly instead of RPT report by using JRC ?

    Hi,
    Good Day !
    How to generate PDF report directly instead of RPT report by using Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Java Reporting Component (JRC) in desktop (Swing thick-client) ?
    My GUI program will generate a RPT report, then i can export to PDF file, this is ok, no problem.
    BUT
    i want it direct to generate a PDF report, not a RPT report.
    The code like below (2 java files)
    ClassA.java
    ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
    reportClientDoc.open(XXX, 0);
    ParameterFieldController paramFieldController = reportClientDoc.getDataDefController().getParameterFieldController();
    paramFieldController.setCurrentValue("", "XXX", DomainClass.getXXX());
    new ReportViewerFrame(reportClientDoc);
    // End of ClassA.java
    // Begin ReportViewerFrame.java
    public class ReportViewerFrame extends JFrame

         private final int YPOS = 60;
         private final int WIDTH = 760;
         private final int HEIGHT = 550;
         private ReportViewerBean reportViewer = new ReportViewerBean();
         private ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc = new ReportClientDocument();
         public ReportViewerFrame(ReportClientDocument reportClientDoc) throws    Exception
              //Initialize frame properties.
              this.setResizable(true);
              this.setLocation(XPOS, YPOS);
              this.setSize(WIDTH, HEIGHT);
              this.setTitle("Crystal Report Java Viewer");
              //Add GUI components to the frame including the ReportViewerBean.
              addComponents();
              //Add GUI listeners to the frame.
              addListeners();
              //Set the report that the ReportViewerBean will display.
              this.reportClientDoc = reportClientDoc;
              reportViewer.setReportSource(reportClientDoc.getReportSource());
              reportViewer.init();
              reportViewer.start();
              //Display the frame.
              this.setVisible(true);
    How to set the export option to PDF base on existing code ?

  • Generating PDF Report and Mailing from APEX through DBMS_SCHEDULER job

    Hi,
    We have a requirement to generate pdf reports and mail them from our apex app through a DBMS_SCHEDULER job. The DBMS_SCHEDULER job calls a PL/SQL procedure which has the logic for calling the APEX_UTIL.GET_PRINT_DOCUMENT API (Function Signature 3) passing the application_id, the report_query_name and the report_layout_name  to generate the pdf report output. The APEX_UTIL.GET_PRINT_DOCUMENT call is returning NULL when called from the DBMS_SCHEDULER job (It doesn't throw any exception as well!). But the same procedure when called from an APEX App Page Process that is invoked on an event like a Button click, the API returns the PDF report output.
    I am also setting the APEX workspace security_group_id at the beginning of the PL/SQL procedure as follows:
    l_workspace_id := apex_util.find_security_group_id (p_workspace => 'MY_WORKSPACE');
    apex_util.set_security_group_id (p_security_group_id => l_workspace_id);
    Any idea on what might be going wrong? Any alternative ways to generate the report output in the PL/SQL procedure?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sujesh K K

    I was able to do a workaround for this issue by rebooting the DB.
    As per ID 579281.1, this is a bug in 11.1.0.6 and we need to upgrade the version to 11.1.0.7 or apply a one -off patch.
    Thanks,
    Arun

  • PDF report generation fails with v7.01

    I have software that generates a PDF report. I upgraded FireFox to v7.01 and I now get an error that the printer is not activated even though I am saving the report to a disc file and not printing it. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

    I just received instructions from the TMG software company to uninstall and install the PDF driver they use. This fixed the problem. Apparently upgrading to v7.01 damages the driver but reinstalling it corrects the problem.
    Thanks for the advice.

  • How to automatically attached multiple PDF reports to an e-mail and send

    Hello.
    I have a requirement to generate multiple PDF reports using Oracle Reports 6i on the web, then automatically attach these PDF reports to an Outlook e-mail and then bring up the Outlook e-mail dialog box so the user can modify the e-mail (such as adding more attachments, adding a CC, BC, change the message text) before sending the e-mail. I want to be able to initiate all these tasks from Oracle webforms 6i in a three-tier environment.
    I have already read various notes and solutions but none of them address all my requirements. Examples:
    1. Using OLE to interface with Outlook - but OLE does now work on the Web
    2. Using Java stored procedure or UTL_SMTP - but this does not bring-up an e-mail dialog box
    3. Using mailto: in HTML and web.show_document - but this does not allow you to attach a PDF file
    Can you please advise on possible solutions to my requirements. Thank you very much.
    Regards,
    Armando

    Here is a great resource for sending binaries.
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/pl_sql/htdocs/Utl_Smtp_Sample.html
    You'll want to use utl_http to run each report with a destype=file and then have another procedure running to check to see when all of your reports have finished. After they are finished, you would run the stored procedure to get all of the binaries, attach them in an email and then send it.
    If you want to concate all of the PDF files into one large file, you can do this with a Java stored procedure using iText.
