Get gift certificate mailed, not e-mailed?

I wanted to purchase an iTunes gift certificate. I
want it mailed to me so I can present it to the person.
But I am forced to enter an e-mail address which leads me
to believe, it is going to e-mail the certificate to me.
Is this true? How do I tell it to mail it to me?

Hi LittleSis,
While it's true we no longer offer physical mail delivery of iTunes Gift Certificates, we do offer a custom-printed greeting card that comes along with iTunes Gift Cards, very appropriate for gift giving.
When you get to the iTunes Gift Card page (here), choose the card you'd like to give and then you'll have opportunity to enter a custom message. Trust me on this one, the presentation looks great.
Hope this helps!

Same problem here and it seems to be a problem that has been occuring, intermittently, for quite a while. I  received the following reply from Apple Support
"You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available."
As I believe that strength comes in numbers, please open a support ticket:

Chris CA,  62,910 points.  Dang...that's a lot of support.  Before I start, let me say Thank You!  You need to answer a lot of people's questions to achieve that.
    1)  You slightly misunderstood my letter through no fault of your own.  It was a generic compilation of information submitted by members of this discussion turned into a letter by me for use on the Apple Feedback site.  I myself did not receive an e-mail.  I actually was prevented from purchasing any more iTunes gift cards at a certain point and was given a cryptic response from the iTunes store that my request could not be processed.  It was only after investigation on my part that I found out the reason was the $100 max per 30 day rule.  I'd try to find where in the Apple's support site I did find that information...but, well, you are just going to have to trust me.  However, others in this discussion stated they received the information in an e-mail.  I used that fact in my letter as it seemed to create a less "cumbersome" feedback submission.
    2)  "Why look for iOS apps?"  That's a good very good question!  I miswrote.  I should have said "OS X apps."  That is where iTunes is located on the Feedback Site.  Good catch.  As you know (62,910 points is a lot of "knowing"), when you submit feedback you must click on the item of which you are going to write.  I must be so ramped up for the impending release of the new iPhone that I had iOS on the brain.  My bad. :-)
    3)  In all the time this discussion has been alive (over a year), and in all my googling, I never read about an option to contact iTunes support and ask them to remove this limit from my account.  It is too bad you didn't come to this discussion when it started in May of 2011 to offer that piece of advice!  Surprisingly, that information wasn't anywhere on the Apple site where I read about the $100/30 day limit.  Maybe it is there now.  But, it sure wasn't there when I read it.  It would have been very helpful.
    4)  You say "(which they can do and often have done for many people here)."  I am curious, what do you mean by "here."  Not "here" as in "here in THIS discussion forum."  Right?  I don't see anyone in this discussion aware of that information and posting it for others to read.  By "here" I assume you mean the ENTIRE Apple Support Community.  Unfortunately, until you arrived on the scene, none of those from that gigantic "here" came across THIS discussion to share their good fortune and knowledge about removing the $100 limit on iTunes gift card purchases per 30 days.
Well, I think that wraps it up for another day.  I am off to iTunes support to get this limit removed from my account.
    Adios amigos!
    Mr. Luigi

  • Mail not receiving mail and refuses to quit when prompted

When I open Mail, it seems to work fine. It receives all messages from the server without any problems; however, a few days later I notice that I don't get any mail from the Mail.app. However, I know I have been getting e-mails because of my iPhone and the Gmail Notifier.
I try to quit Mail when this happens, but I have to force quit the application. Mail does not stop responding. It just doesn't quit. There are no error messages. It just doesn't receive mail after a while and won't even if I press the "Get Mail" button.
Thank you in advance for helping me out with this.

I have this same problem as well. Mail will work fine for a few hours then it will get "stuck" on downloading a message. I never gets unstuck and I can't quit mail or the activity of downloading the mail - thus I have to force quit the app several times a day. It will also occasionally tell me to rebuild the index, which I do, but it only seems to help for a couple of hours until the next message gets stuck while downloading. Mail.app ran fine up until recently.
The only thing I can think of recently is that I have been on some sites that say "if you visit this site it may damage your computer" - I never downloaded anything... can malware be added to you computer just by visiting a site via the safari browser? I ran a malware/virus scan and it found mostly windows malware/viruses in old archived email attachments. Any ides?
FWIW: I'm using POP accounts and keeping them on the server for 1 week

  • Mail in continuous "Synchronizing with Server" (all mail, not just Mail.app)

Since upgrading to 10.9 Mavericks, Mail (Apple) continually syncrhonizes with the servers. I have a plethora of folders stored via iCloud (IMAP). When it gets to the end, there's a short lull but, if I do anything else, the process starts again. (Viewable via Mail's Activity Window (Cmd-Opt-Zero).)
It always synchronizes of course, but it used to be in the blink of an eye, and (seemingly) not each and every folder.
I thought it was a Mail only issue, but I downloaded Airmail from the Mac App Store to give it a whirl, and the problem is the same: it synchronizes with the server continuously. As with Mail, when it gets through with the last folder, there's a pause, and it starts up again.
When it was assumed to just be a Mail.app issue, it was one thing, but now it appears its a universal mail issue. I've done some research, and I know Gmail users are feeling the pain, but I don't have Gmail -- my only account is my mac/me/icloud one.
Some have suggested it's a bug with Mail, but wouldn't my issue with Airmail rule that out? Others have posted that the issue is with Spotlight and how it indexes mail messages for search. (FWIW, I've unchecked "Mail & Messages" in Spotlight but it doesn't seem to have helped the issue.)

I don't know if this is the exact same problem.  I sync my Gmail and my iCloud mail accounts on the Mail program.  Since upgrading to Mavericks, whenever my Mail program is being used, it is constantly notifying me about VIP mail in my mail box -- over and over again, the same mail items. It's annoying, and I assume this pointless activity is also affecting performance at the margins.  How do I shut this off but still get notified when I get NEW mail from VIPs?

  • Mail not showing mail

    Hi,
My Mail has been working great.. until i bought an iPhone4.
I don´t know if this is the reason, but when i synced my iPhone from iTunes my mail account only shows
    NOTES.
I deleted the mail account (my schools mail, imap) and reconnected the mail accounted. Mail started showing my mail again, after a few days the same thing. only notes.
interesting is that notes do sync AND the account is showing that new mail has arrived (the blue ball) but no matter where or what I click can I get the account to show my mail.
Thank you all for any tips or similar problems you can provide discuss. Thank you
    /Daniel Hilli

summer14, In case you haven't resolved this yet.
polzbert's solustion is excellent, assuming you have a backup drive using Time Machine. However, did you try rebuilding the inbox? If not, here's how:
Select the mail box that's giving you trouble in the left pane of Apple Mail. Then choose "rebuild" iunder the Mailbox Menu Item. This has resolved countless mailbox glitches for me in the past.

Moderator's Note: E-mail address was removed. Please don't publish your personal contact information on a public forum.

Yahoo is your mail provider and IAF is the sender. I recommend to contact those again, especially IAF. Perhaps they see a bounce of the mail. Because this is rather important stuff, you have to convince IAF to provide the temporary password by phone or postal mail.

  • Apple Mail not marking mail as read after being read on iPhone

I'm currently using my Gmail account (IMAP) on both Apple Mail and on my iPhone. When I read mail on my iPhone, Apple Mail doesn't change it read mail, even after several hours, but it is changed on the server. How do I change it so that it syncs mail status?
When I read mail on Apple Mail, it gets marked as read on my iPhone.

Check the account settings with Outlook which should reveal how you created and are accessing the account with Outlook.
If you used the Gmail account preset when creating the account with the iPhone's Mail app, the account was created as an IMAP account.

  • Apple Mail not receiving mail?

Hi there. I'm using Apple Mail 6.2 on Mountain Lion. I haven't had any issues with it when I installed ML when it came out but now I'm not receiving mail. I can still send mail out though. Is anyone else experiencing this? And is there something I can do to fix it? Thanks in advance!

  • ICloud mail not delivering mail from specific address

I'm having a recurring issue with iCloud mail. Email alerts from my home alarm company are being intercepted on Apple's server side, and are not being delivered to me. I called Apple Support more than a week ago to report this problem, and the representative added the email address to a "white list." This fixed the problem.... for about a week. Now iCloud is up to its old tricks, killing these emails before they get to me. Sounds like an overzealous junk mail algorithm on Apple's server side is mis-identifying this email address as a spam.
And the email is NOT being classified as junk by my computer. It never reaches my computer--it's not in any junk or trash folder on my side.

I use the term "Desktop" to indicate my iMac and my Macbook - the email is actually in my Mailbox on my Macbook. I move it from my Inbox to a folder on icloud. Then it syncs and the email is back in my Inbox.
Sorry my use of the word  "desktop" comes from 25 years managing Windows desktop computers.......

  • Mail not collecting mail from all accounts.

Running 10.6.8 (all updates available installed).
I have Gmail, Aol mail accounts all working just fine but one POP account has stopped retrieving emails over the last few days.
Now and then it will pull an email in but it is not reliable.
I get them just fine on my iPhone, iPad and Macbook Pro (10.8.1)
    Any help would be appreciated.

Can you take each one online?
If not, take them all offline (Mail preferences > Advanced > Enable this account) and then enable each account one at a time till you find the problematic account.
If that's not the problem, maybe something's changed in one of the account setups? IP address of the IMAP/POP servers perhaps?

  • Mac mail not receiving mail timely - through the web or mac mail on computer

for the past few days - my email works in the morning - then all afternoon - I can not receive email... sending is fine... then at about 7:30 at night - it all comes through - what is going on... this is ridiculous.
Mac mail on the lap top
    AND
    through web server
none are working - come on let's get this issue resolved it IS a mac mail issue Apple - fess up and fix it.

mail goes into sent folder, there is a sound as normal, there is NO error message. i verify by send a copy to me or to my colleagues
A sent message moved to the account's Sent mailbox indicates the message was successfully sent by the SMTP server used to send messages with the account. If the message cannot be sent for whatever reason, the message will remain in the Outbox mailbox with an error message provided. A successfully sent message is no guarantee the message will be accepted and received by the recipient's incoming mail server.
EVEN using web based mac.com to access mail (from location(work)), i cannot send mail!
When using webmail access to send a message with your .Mac account at work, is the message sent as with the Mail application and placed in the account's Sent mailbox which indicates the message was successfully sent but is not received or does something different occur?
but Gmail works fine from location (work) both via Mail.app and via gmail web-based
Then try selecting Gmail's SMTP server to send messages with your .Mac account when using the Mail application to see if this makes any difference or have you already tried this?
i have used another Ibook to try both via Mail.app and web-mased mac mail from location (work) but also will not complete the send.
i have configured a PC outlook express at location (work) for mac mail and it will not complete send
i have used PC browser (IE) to access mac mail web based and it will not send from location (work)
Are the messages also successfully sent with the Mail.app and webmail access on the iBook and with OE and IE on the Windows PC but not received by the recipient?

  • Mac Mail not Retrieving Mail

I've recently transferred my site and mail to BC but I can't get Mac Mail to download the messages.
BC Webmail seems to be working, so I know the mail is getting through to the address, but its not being downloaded to my local computer.
The settings are simple enough and I believe I've put them in right. Mac Mail does not generate any errors when it asks for mail.
I'm running the latest Mac OS and mail software -
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Thanks

Yes, both of those were set. Here are screenshots...

  • TS3276 E-mail not receiving mail.

Hi, my e-mail has stopped receiving mail. Nothing has changed, in fact, my Mac hasn't even been switched off. I keep getting the username and password messages, but when I put them in it still won't go. I'm also getting a warning from the IMAP server wishing to alert me to the following: Moved:http://me.com/move. I've moved to iCloud so I don't see what this is about. I'm using OS X Version 10.5.8 if that makes any difference.

If you've just switched to iCloud, then you'll also want to switch to the iCloud account (if you have one created for you in your Mail client) and discontinue use of your current Mail Account settings in your mail client, or (if there's not an iCloud account that's been created for you in Mail) switch your current settings to match what is listed in the iCloud: Mail server information (HT4864) document.

  • Apple Mail not downloading mail

Even after the latest so called fix for Mavericks my Apple Mail still does not automatically download my email from Gmail.  I have to go through old ones and delete something to prompt the download of the new ones to begin.  Its very frustrating having all my new email on my phone but if its something I wont to view on the computer I can't as its not there waiting for me. Mail that was sent 3 hours ago has only just downloaded into Apple Mail although I have had it on my phone and iPad for all this time.  If the latest fix was meant to fix this problem why does it still exist?

Try rebuilding each of your inbox's and see of that allows the download to proceed. Select the mailbox and then from the menu select Mailbox > Rebuild. Alternatively check to see if there is a message on the server that has an unknown sender. Delete it if that is the case and try downloading again.
Try disabling either one of the accounts (temporarily) and see if it is just one of them is causing the problem. Do that via Mail Preferences. Select Account and in the Advanced tab uncheck "enable this account". The account will disappear from the viewer window but the underlying account definition and details are not deleted so to make it visible again simply check "enable this account".
