Get my temporary IP

Hi friends
I need to get out my temporary IP given to me by my provider.
The remote IP doesn't come back with the HTTP protocol to the client.
I imagine there must be a service on the web, where the server gets your temporary IP and gives it back to you (as plain text).
Is JXTA for that kind of stuff?
googling a while I didn't find anything
ok, I could set up my own server, but I have no domain with CGI ....

The IP of my computer in the local network of course :))
ok ipconfig works, but I want to do it programmatically with Java
But I found it now:
InetAddress.getLocalHost()
is the trick.

  • Get Windows Temporary Profile on restart after updating Firefox on Windows 7

    This happened a month ago when going from 15 to 15.0.1 also. And again now when upgrading to 16.0.1.
    I have no idea how it fixed itself last time as I tried everything over the course of multiple days last time (many reboots, restarts, etc.). Ended up creating two additional accounts, just had the one originally, in order to copy all my files and start over last time. Then, seemingly at random, the original profile worked in which I noticed two instances of FF, 15 and 15.0.1, in the control panel so tried re-installing FF 15.0.1, even though the manifest listed it as successful, which fixed it.
    Now the exact thing is happening again after upgrading to 16.0.1. It was a successful install, verified before rebooting via update history and closing FF and opening a couple of times, and it then only listing 16.0.1 in the control panel. But, on the first restart, Windows 7 goes into temporary profile mode again. I tried creating a second account again in hopes the first would magically work again, as I have no idea how I got back into the original profile the last time it happened, to no avail.
    Can anyone help? I hate to give up on FF as I've been using it exclusively for years but I don't want to go through this a third time.
    Also, what can I do to get back into my original profile so that I don't have to start from scratch yet again copying my files and recreating all my settings?

    Update.
    After many logoffs, restarts and switching user from the temporary profile and the second user account, it randomly let me back in to my original profile again.
    I literally did nothing to allow me access to it other than many of those attempts.
    As soon as I was in my original account again, I immediately went to the control panel -> uninstall a program and verified, same as last time, that it listed two instances of FF (recall that it did NOT after I upgraded before the first restart and getting the temp profile). I opened up FF, 16.0.1, and downloaded it again from http://www.mozilla.org/products/download.html?product=firefox-16.0.1&os=win&lang=en-US
    Installed that, even though it was already successfully installed according to FF. And just like last time, that removed the earlier instance of FF, 15.0.1, and all is back to normal. Verified by restarting multiple times and no longer getting a temp profile (exactly like last time which lasted for about three weeks until the 16.0.1 upgrade).
    This never happened until 15.0.1 and now 2 for 2 with 16.0.1. What is going on that would yield a successful upgrade yet on Windows 7 first restart after is causing it to kick to a temporary profile (yet also fixed, if one gets lucky enough to get back their profile, re-installing it over fixes it until the next upgrade?)? Some file not being created/deleted on reboot that is confusing Windows when trying to load the user profile?
    I'm willing to copy over my W7 user profile to a flash drive and Fedex it to the FF team if one can fix this. It is the most basic software setup that I can't imagine others aren't experiencing the same issues.

  • Trying to connect to PhoneGap Build Service in Dreamweaver CS6 but get a "Temporary Server related error". Help!

    I am trying to connect to the PhoneGap Build Service in Dreamweaver CS6 but after about a minute I receive the error "Temporary Server related error. Please try again later.". I have googled, searched and implemented any fix that I could find without any joy. I have fully updated Dreamweaver and all other Cloud services but still am receiving the error.
    I can log into build.phonegap.com using my Adobe ID no problem and I have linked a GitHub account to my Adobe ID so I am at a loss as what I can try next.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Users log in for the first time, get a temporary profile.

    New server running 2008 R2 in a Workgroup environment; users have profiles that were created Server Manager->Configuration->Local Users and Groups. As noted in threads with similar issues the person logging in gets the "You have been logged on
    with a temporary profile..." message. No other evidence of their profiles exist in "C:/users/" (individual profile folders aren't created - just a Temp folder that disappears after the user logs off) or the Registry (HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\Currentversion\ProfileList\..., just a Temp key that disappears after the user logs off). I tried granting administrator permissions to one of the affected profiles as there are admin accounts on the machine that aren't affected; made no difference.
    So to be clear in my case, other solutions that I've found online don't work because there are no registry entries or users folders to delete or rename.

    Thank you for the reply, but I've narrowed the issue down to the login scripts that were created for the users. After I removed the script from the profile settings the user logged in normally with a persistent folder.
    Thanks again.

    My iPhone 5 and my PC (Windows 7) will not allow me to redeem cards or make purchases.  I get an unknown iTunes error 5002 on the PC and when using the iPhone it goes blank after a code is entered and does not return.  It recovers when the home button is pressed.  The software is up to date and this has been tried by USB and Wi-Fi from different netwroks.  This matter has persisted for more than five days without a resolution from Apple support.  The same PC allows purchases from iTunes from other accounts belonging to others who use the same PC with their IOS devices (iPhone 5, iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle).

    Hello jaybearden,
    Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • The temporary file path is not valid.  Lightroom cannot start

    Windows XP, SP3, Lightroom 2.5.
    External hard drive starts acting funny.  Round here we expect hard drive failure, so I order a new drive and when it arrives copy the backup onto the new drive.  The new drive has the same drive letter as the old one, but not the same name.  When I try to open a catalog I get: "The temporary file path is not valid.  Lightroom cannot start."  The catalogs seem to be fine, as when I open lightroom directly, not by clicking the .lrcat file, catalogs look normal.  If I copy the lrcat file to my internal hard drive it opens.  If I create a new catalog on the external drive I get the same problem.
    I have tried deleting the preferences file.  I have tried deleteing and reinstalling lightroom.  I have used the external HD on another computer with lightroom and it opens normally.
    All I can imagine is that there is some setting, somewhere in the registry which does not get erased when the lightroom gets re-installed.  Any guesses?
    I am at a loss!  Please hope me!

    Could be your Windows tempfile path is messed up. You could try going to Control Panel/Advanced and pushing the Environment Variables button.See what the TEMP and TMP variables are set to.
    Under "User Variables", both of mine are set to C:\Documents and Settings\<my name>\Local Settings\Temp.
    Under "System Variables", both are set to C:\Windows\Temp.
    Make sure that the directories referred to are legal and on accessible drives. Make sure they aren't read-only. It wouldn't hurt to create them if they don't exist.
    It's worth a try, I think.

  • 2012 R2 RDS Temporary Profile issue

    I am having the same issue: I have a new Windows 2012 R2 server running AD and RDP. Everything was working great until I rebooted yesterday, and now when I log in at the server, it logs me in as an RDP user and a temporary profile.    My
    external RDP users log in just fine, and their profiles are okay.  What is Microsoft doing about getting a fix for this?

    I have done the registry fix on your link:  http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=947242  IT DOES NOT fix this issue on my Windows Server 2012 R2.  I STILL get a temporary login.  Even if I create another admin user with local
    rights and domain rights, and log in at the console, it will log in the first time and create my profile, but after I log off that user, and try to log back in, I get a temp profile.
    ALSO, please note that in addition to the temp login, the 2nd issue is that I am being logged in as an RDP login account (in fact, when I look at the RDP connections in my Collections list, one of them is me), while I am, in fact, logging at the console.
    Microsoft needs to come out with a hotfix on this.  There are many posts of frustrated users with the same issue on a Windows 2012 R2 server running RDP.

  • How to get stand by router.

    Hello gurus,
    In my organisation I already have one open IP which I am using for SAP router. But in our organisation we got a new internet connection which is having more bandwidth than previous one and we got one new Open IP from this new internet provider.
    Now I want to make this new open IP as SAP router IP and old open IP as a stand by SAP Router IP. Can we keep 2 SAP Routers at a time. So is possible to do? If yes then how?
    Otherwise what to do if new internet connection service get down temporary.
    Please reply.

    Hi Suhas,
                  You can use two routers but you should inform SAP
                  regarding this that you want to configure a new router
                  so that SAP will provide you a new distinguished
                  name for your new router. I think you are refering to
                  the public ip here.If so just assign the new public ip
                  to the system which you are using for SAPROUTER
                  and then then inform SAP that you have changed the
                  ip. Also do the neccessary changes in the routtab.
    Reward points if helpfull.
    Regards,
    Vamshi.

  • Get/Save PDF file generated by Reports.

    How can I get the temporary .pdf file stored in the cache by Reports Server when, there is a request for a report?
    When the a request to view output as PDF file? Reports server stores the output PDF file in the server cache but generates bogus alphanumeric files. Is there a way I can save it myself so that I can capture that file for future use. or maybe a Reports API?

    When it appears in the browser you could use "Save As" to save it locally.

  • Temporary queue problem

    Hi,
    I cannot create a receiver for the temporary queue. It throws "Invalid Destination"
    exception. I disassembled the session class and the reason is the session class casts the
    temporary query to Query and it throws null pointer exception as the temporary queue does not extend this
    interface. The code I used is written as I had read in Sun's JMS tutorial, why it does not work?
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    QueueConnectionFactory factory = (QueueConnectionFactory)ctx.lookup("jms/QueueConnectionFactory");
    QueueConnection connection = factory.createQueueConnection();
    QueueSession session = connection.createQueueSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    Queue tempQueue = session.createTemporaryQueue();
    QueueReceiver receiver = session.createReceiver(reportQueue); <-- this is the place where the exception is thrown
    receiver.setMessageListener(new ReportQueueListener());
    connection.start();
    Exception:
    javax.jms.InvalidDestinationException: Invalid queue
         at com.evermind.server.jms.EvermindQueueSession.createReceiver(EvermindQueueSession.java:145)
         at com.evermind.server.jms.EvermindQueueSession.createReceiver(EvermindQueueSession.java:134)
    Thanks, Zbynek
    P.S. I found similar questions in this forum but no answer ???

    You already have a reference to the Queue from msg.getJMSReplyTo(). There
              should be no need to look it up again.
              I don't think you are supposed to be able to look up a temporary queue in
              this fashion anyway.

    Hi,
    We are getting the "temporary failure (41)" cause code on some calls - can anyone explain what this means.

  • Non writable temporary folder OSXserver

    I have full admin access to a mini server OSX10.7 yet unable to unzip a file due to the temp folder being unavailable.
    Ideas anyone how why this folder behaviour occurs?
    File sharing with other users is ON for this machine, FileMakerServer is running, but that's it, no other services.
    I am not too familiar with Lion, but what was the trick to get the temporary folder in view so I can check the r/w options?
    TIA
    Peter

    A better and safer syntax is the single command:  sudo rm -rf /var/folders/*  since if  the first line above does not succeed, or is entered in a separate terminal session, the second command will remain pointed at the top level of your home folder by default, effectively telling the computer to ERASE ALL CONTENTS of "~/"  your account's home folder.  In that event, all personal content - desktop files, downloads, documents, local email storage, music, movies, favorite bookmarks, and so on - will be immediately deleted!
    Caution is also recommended, since /var/folders  is temporary storage for a lot of applications.  At minimum quit any other open applications and be prepared to restart.
    Naturally any command involking "sudo" will only run within an administrative account.  If you don't have an admin account, if the computer is not your personal property, if the computer returns an error when invoking "sudo" or if you simply have doubts or questions about what each element of these commands does,  well that's simply nature's way of saying "call IT."

  • How to assign RDS 2012 R2 temporary license per RDS user CAL

    we have setup  two RDS servers of 2012 r2 runnning with both RDSH roles, RDP-1 is the license server and in RDP-2 its pointed to RDP-1 to take license and licensing mode is set as per user. users are getting license in per user mode of 60 days validity.
    Question is how to get temporary license assigned for users in per user mode, this is requirement for testing the license in our company as it is setup just now.So i have removed the pointing of license server in RDP-2 using Group policy, but still cannot
    see a temporary license in RDP-1 -> License Manager.
    Pls help to solve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Karthickraj

    Hi,
    As per my research by default there are 2 remote session available for administrative purpose only. Once you want more than 2 remote session for user to connect we need to purchase RDS CAL (as you know), activate the license server and then configure the purchased
    RDS CAL with the help of MS Clearing house. There is no way to assign the temporary license, but when you install the RD License server, activate it and once user will get login by default will get user temporary license for specified days such as 60. Within
    that time you need to purchase the CAL and complete rest process. You can get more information from following article.

    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2013/09/20/rd-licensing-configuration-on-windows-server-2012.aspx
    Hope it helps!
