    We are on oracle Db 11.2.0.2 and EBS : 11.5.10.2 on Solaris Sparc 64 Bit 5.10.
    We have recently added a web node to an existing setup.

  • Tomcat can't get the specified jsp-page.

    there are three jsp-page : Step1.jsp Step2.jsp Step3.jsp
    Step2.jsp and Step3.jsp are placed at the same folder,but Step3.jsp is placed at the different folder.
    Step1.jsp's content :
    request.getRequestDispatcher("/CH4/Step2.jsp").forward(request,response);
    Step2.jsp's content :
    <form name="form1" action="Step3.jsp" method="post">
    <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit">
    </form>
    Step3.jsp's content :
    <c:out value="can you see this page " />
    the expectent procedure is : Step1 -> Step2 ->Step3
    but there is error : The requested resource (/CH4/MyJspCode/Step3.jsp) is not available.
    how to currect it ?

    The action on your form will be relative to step1.jsp
    So it will look for step3.jsp in the same folder as step1.jsp.
    This is because:
    The request was for step1.jsp
    The action attribute is a relative reference, not absolute, and thus is relative to the requested url - step1.jsp
    Although it was forwarded to step2.jsp, the browser knows nothing of this, and thus uses step1.jsp as its base.
    You can change this by including a base tag on the page.
    You can also give an absolute reference to the servlet/jsp but that involves harcoding the context name into the URL.

    Are your records javascript variables? If so, you can use a json formatter to serialize the records to a string and send it from PageA to PageB using mechanism that supports strings (i.e. query parameter, cookie, etc).
    You can learn more about json at http://www.json.org/ and about a json serializer/parser at http://www.json.org/js.html .

  • Render a JSP page into HTML in a String

    I am using a mail template system that gets templates as JSP pages placed in /WEB-INF/mailtemplates/
    I want to internally parse JSPs as if they were real JSPs in my tomcat but:
    - Get get them using getResourceAsStream (or any other way)
    - make JSP engine translate JSP into HTML into a String object.
    - Send a mail with this HTML. (this part is already finished)
    What I need is a method with the following proposed signature:
    public String getMailTemplate(java.io.InputStream jspPageStream, javax.servlet.HttpServletRequest request) {}
    The method must get the JSP from the stream, render it into the HTML and return it as a String.
    Of course, it must render the JSP as a real JSP, using the apserver JSP engine. It must so replace any tags and EL objects:
    ${session.user.name} -> The name of the user
    <c:forEach, ...
    etc. etc. etc.
    Any ideas / directions on how to achieve this?
    thanks,
    Ignacio

    Ok, just tried it out myself, and I'm getting the same result you are.
    Nothing makes it out to the RedirectingServletResponse.
    It appears to be buffering it somewhere in the included page.
    If you put a command to flush the buffer on the jsp page being included: <% out.flush; %> then it works.
    So why doesn't it work normally? Why doesn't the call to requestDispatcher.include (or forward) flush/commit its response?
    I will admit to being stuck on this one. I'm figuring its something in the internal workings of Tomcat/JSP to do with when a page is flushed or not, but I can't thing of anything right now.
    Here is the test I put together to try this out (along with a few corrections to my previous code). I will admit to being stumped :-)
    The response wrapper:

    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.OutputStream;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;

  • How to Identify that which Region is attached to which Jsp page?

    Hi
    I am working on module Quoting Sales. I have my jsp page qotSCocHeader.jsp . In responsibility AK Developer we have a region QOTSCOCHEADER . As we can see that the jsp page name and the AK region name both are same.
    Now my doubt here is that :
    How can we identify that which region is attached to which jsp page ?
    Analysis that I have done so far:
    1) I have check the Application Developer responsibility --> Function also . Here I can see 1 tab for Region , but no details are present in this tab
    2) All jsp pages are present in $OA_HTML . So I have done grep in this directory but no reference to region name .
    Pls guide me as how can I get information about Jsp page and region linkage .
    Thanks
    Amit

    Hi
    Thanks for the update.
    I have Right clicked my jsp page --> View Source and searched for the Region name i.e XXQOTSCOCHEADERLLLP and found one occurence for the region. Reference to region name was like this:
    <form target=_top method=POST name="_etffm001"> <input type=hidden name="jfn"
    href="http://betsyn1.emrsn.com:29604/OA_HTML/jsp/fnd/fndhelp.jsp?lang=US&root=FND:LIBRARY&path=US/QOT/@XXQOTSCOCHEADERLLLP" target="HELP_WIN"><span
    But still I have an open question, Where in the Oracle Apps setup we attach the region with Jsp page ?
    i) I am not able to find any setup for this in Oracle.
    ii) In jsp code I am not able to find as where we are making call to region associated with the Jsp page.
    So can you pls help me out in identifying as where exactly the Jsp page and region are attached . How the Oracles Apps identify as which region is attached to which Jsp pae ?
    Thanks

  • Issue in applying SSL selectively to Login JSP Page--Session getting lost.

    Hi,
    I am facing some issues with SSL configuration on my web site running on tomcat 5.5. I am using jdk 1.5 and form based authentication with JAAS framework.
    The SSL configuration is working perfectly when applied to complete web site, but starts giving problem when applied selectively to some JSP pages. At present I am trying to apply SSL just on the login page.
    When the login screen loads up, the URL in the browser has a protocol "*https*", as expected, but it doesn't gets changed to "*http*" once the user has successfully logged in. Why is the automatic change from https to http not ocurring?
    Also I want to know which is the default page, tomcat will direct the logged in user to, once successfully authenticated using form based login; Is there any way to change this default page to some other page. It looks like that tomcat automatically directs to index.html , once the user has been successfully authenticated, but I am not so sure. My index.html page is having 4 frames; the source of these frames are different JSP pages, which are not under SSL.
    My aim is to apply SSL just on login.jsp so that password doesn't travel in clear text. Once the user is authenticated he should see index.html and the address bar's URL should change it's protocol from https to http.

    The entries in my server.xml are following:
    <Connector port="8080" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192"
    maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" maxSpareThreads="75"

    keystoreFile="${java.home}\lib\security\cacerts" keystorePass="changeit"
    clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" />
    I have gone through the http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=197150 and tried implementing it; The filter as explained in the thread does gets called but the session values are still lost.
    Please note I am using javascript to go from secure "https" to "http" once the user has successfully logged in The javascript code is as below:
    top.location.href="http://localhost:8080/qtv/index.html." ;
    If I use response.sendRedirect("http://localhost:8080/qtv/index.html") for going to non-secure mode, the index.html page does not gets loaded properly. (Please note that my index.html is made of *4 frames*, as explained earlier. This is a legacy code and frames can't be removed).
    The reason for index.html not getting loaded properly is that the Address bar URL does NOT change its URL and protocol from https (https://localhost:8443/qtv/index.html ) to "*http*" (http://localhost:8080/qtv/index.html) when esponse.sendRedirect() is used ;this is the default behaviour of response.sendRedirect(). And because the protocol in address bar is https, index.html is not able to load the other JSP's in it's frames because of cross-frame-scripting security issues (The other JSP's to be loaded in frames are are NOT secure as discussed earlier).
    Please let know if any way out.
    Thanks,
    Masaai

  • How to get multiple selections from jsp page in my servlet

    Hello Everyone,
    I've a list that allows users to make multiple selections.

        <option>
             Mtv
        </option>
      </select>I want to get the selections made by user in jsp page from my servlet, selections can be multiple too.
    ArrayList locList = new ArrayList();
    locList = request.getParameter("location");when I do so, I get compilation error as the request returns string type. How do I then get multiple selections made by the user.
    Please let me know.

    For those kind of basic questions it would help a lot if you just gently consult the javadocs and tutorials.

  • Help needed urgently to get the values from the jsp page.

    hi,
    I am badly stuck into this problem.Please help me and find a solution.
    I am using ms-access and jsp.
    my database structure is as given below:
    m_emp_no | from_date | to_date | approver| status |
    1002 | 22/9/2008 | 23/9/2008|1003 |pending
    1004 | 29/9/2008 | 30/9/2008|1003 |pending
    2044 | 15/9/2008 | 16/9/2008|3076 |pending
    now this is exactly a leave apply scenario where a page is displayed and the user has to fill in the details to apply leave.then the approver has to approve that leaves so even, he should get the details in his account.
    for example here 1003 has to approve leaves for 1002 & 1004.i am able to fetch data from database for the particular approver here is the coding:
    <html>
    <body>
    <h2 align="center"><u><b><span style="background-color: #FFFFFF"><font color="#C0C0C0" face="Comic Sans MS">Leave

    p=con.prepareStatement("select * from emp_leave_application where approver='"+username+"'");
    ResultSet r=p.executeQuery();

      <table border="1" width="100%" height="171" bordercolor="#FFFFFF" bordercolorlight="#FFFFFF" bordercolordark="#FFFFFF">

    con.close();
    %>
      <table border="1" width="100%" bordercolor="#FFFFFF" bordercolorlight="#FFFFFF" bordercolordark="#FFFFFF">
              <tr>

            </td>
        </tr>
      </table>
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>{code}
    this will display both the rows but when i try to retrieve the values into update.jsp using the code given below it gives me only one value which is the first 1002.
    {code}approved=(String)request.getParameter("approved");
    id=(String)request.getParameter("id");{code}
    but i need both the values to be inserted into the update.jsp only then the approver will be able to approve the leaves individually with respect to the m_emp_no.
    please help me out.
    thanks in advance. We only see this with multiple near-simultaneous requests for the same page with differet roles. It smells like a threading issue to me, but I'm no expert (hence this post). Any thoughts?

    We have a J2EE app, using Struts + Tiles (build 1.1-b3), running on Win2KPro, Ora9ias v9.0.3. The application is roles-based, and different users see different versions of the same page based on their role authorizations. Occasionally, when multiple users in different roles are requesting the same page, the app returns the following exception:
    OracleJSP:
    JSP Error:

    As the [HTML specification|http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/interact/forms.html] states, you should be setting the enctype to multipart/form-data to be able to upload files to the server. In the server side, you need to process the multipart/form-data binary stream by parsing the HttpServletRequest#getInputStream(). It is a lot of work to get it to work flawlessly. There are 3rd party API's around which can do that for you, such as [Apache Commons FileUpload|http://commons.apache.org/fileupload] (carefully read the User Guide how to use it).
    You can also consider to use a Filter which makes use of the FileUpload API to preprocess the request so that you can continue writing the servlet code as usual. Here is an example: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/11/multipartfilter.html].

  • How to get the values retained on clicking the back button in jsp page

    Hi All,
    I had two jsp's search and results. In the search page when i enter some values in the text fields, the rsults will be displayed for that search criteria. I had a back button in the results page. When i click on this back button i will get back to my search page. I am using the following code for this back button.
    <INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE='Back' onClick="javascript:history.go(-1)" class="button">
    Now the problem is when i get back to search page using this back button, i am not able to get the values in the search page which i entered, i am getting all blank values. What should i change to get these values back in the search page. Should i maintain any sessions for this?

    You have no control at all over the back button process. To the server, it's indistinguishable from the user simply tying the URL of your search page. So, you need to store this data server side*.
    When your search page is submitted and processed, store the values you received for each of the fields into the user's session. Then, when the search page is generated, check the session for these values, and for any values that are not null, put their values into the html as the default values for the textboxes and controls you are using. This lets you handle the whole matter on the server's side.
    *barring convoluted, unportable, black-magic javascript trickery which you should definitely avoid

    Are you talking about server-side java code (servlets/jsp) or client side (applet)? Given we are in the JSP forum I'll assume we're talking server side.
    If so, you are making a common but fundamental mistake. JavaScript executes on the client, not on the server. If you want client data on the server it has to get there somehow. The simplest way to do this in JSP land is via HTTP. So... have your JavaScript code call a JSP (or servlet) and pass the value you want as a URL parameter. Of course this will also change the browser location, so if you don't want this to happen use a frame or iframe to capture your HTTP request.
    For example:
    Javascript....
    function someFunction() {
    return 1;
    var value = someFunction();
    location.href="somejsp.jsp?value=" + value;
