  • Getting electric shock while charging my i touch

    hi
i am getting electric shock while charging my itouch

Also, do yo get it when charging with a wall charger?
    A computer USB port?
Could be a problem with the cable (as mentioned by kylewont) or the charging source or the iPod.
An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store maybe in order.

  • IPhone 4 getting electric shock while charging

Hi I am getting electric shock while charging my iPhone 4

You may have a short in the USB cable or charger, try a different cable if you can. I shocked myself on a frayed iPhone cable and switching it obviously fixed the problem

  • IPhone gives me an electric shock when charging

    Hey All,
Maybe someone can help me with this. Just recently I noticed my iPhone shocks my ear if I use it while its charging. I think it's been happening for a while but I assumed my ear was catching on the screen guard. However last night I got a really big zap that stung pretty bad so I knew it was iPhone. I think something happens because my usb wall charge adapter no longer works and the mic in my headset died all at the same time that I started noticing the pain in my ear when I use it. I don't use the phone while charging any more but what should I do? My phone is integrated heavily into my business so I can't go a day without having it. Anyone know if something I could do so I'm not without the phone and its not shocking me anymore.
Seems like always my luck with my apple gear. Last time my powerbook wall charger shocked me and caught on fire.
    Thanks,
    Pete

There may be a short in the wall adapter. If it does not have a green dot on the bottom you have one that was recalled for a similar problem. If you reverse the plug in the wall you won't get the shock. but you should really replace the adapter.
It's also possible that your outlet is miswired. You should have an electrician check it. or get an outlet polarity tester at Radio Shack.

  • Does the macbook pro gives a slight electrical shock when charging?

When the Macbook Pro is charging, I can feel a little electricity in my fingertips. Unfotunately, I don't have a three prong outlet, just two. Either way, I think this was not supposed to be. Anyone can share some answers?
    Thanks,
    Muriel

You need to use a proper ground plug (third one), if there is a electrical short the metal case can conduct deadly electricity right into your body.
However the Mac uses low voltage DC current and the deadly stuff is all behind the power brick, but the deadly stuff can come from another means with other equipement.
What your likely feeling is the equalization of electrons between your body and the metal case, something your doing is reducing your bodyy's electrons and your MBP has spare ones so they transfer and you can feel this sometimes.
If the difference is built up enough, then you get a nice zap, that's how lightning works.

  • Palm Pre gets incredibly hot when charging.

Does anyone else have this problem? I mean it's so hot that sometimes when I pick it up I almost drop it instantly because my hand feels like it might get burnt. I think it's gotten so hot that it actually burnt the screen. There is a little orange spot on the screen that shouldn't be there.

    @playacapper:
If your phone has gotten hot enough to feel on the front of the screen, even to potentially damage the screen, I would recommend contacting our technical support department for a potential replacement.
Contact numbers are in my signature, and if this is a hardware issue, there should be no charge for the call.

  • Dv6 Laptop shocking when charging

My laptop is discharging some sort of electrical shocks from several parts of it when it is charging. It's not static electricity. Most noticeably, when it is charging and I rest my arm on the bottom left side of the laptop (when playing games or something) it continuously shocks me. Any idea what could be causing the problem?

  • My I touch gets very hot when charging, and it won't turn on.  I've tried all the resets/fixes and it does not respond.  Any Ideas?

I have tried charging my itouch on the computer, in a docking station, and it gets very hot.  It won't turn on, even after trying all the resets I've read on this site.  Any ideas what the problem is?  Is it fixable?

Hey Halefarm, What happens if you connect directly with the charging source with your cable, no docking station? Since resetting did not help, try connecting directly with the cable to your power source and your iPod. Next  try a different cable, there could be a short in the one you are currently using. If still will not charge correctly, I'm leaning in the direction of a failing battery. Set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated by Apple. Have your iPod evaluated for possible battery issues. Take the cable and dock and have them tested as well. If it is a failing battery, you choices are; replace the battery, either through Apple or third party shop. Replace it yourself, if you can. Or,  you look into getting a new iPod. I don't have the cost of a new battery for an iPod 3, but I'm sure it's under $100. Check with Apple for exact pricing. Good luck, Cheers.

  • Why do I get hissing sound when charging my Macbook Pro

    Hello!
Few weeks ago i noticed that on my speakers there is this hissing sound/noise coming out, but eventually it stopped. But now I changed speakers to active studio monitors and I hear hissing very well, the hissing noice is just horrible and i noticed that it only happens when I am charging my Macbook.
And one more strange thing, hissing noise doesn't happen when i use my headphones.
    Has anybody encountered

I suggest an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation.
Perhaps an Apple Hardware Test may provide a clue:

Note that an error free AHT is not definitive.

  • Macbook pro retina 13" late 2013 gets warm when charging !

My relatively new MacBook Pro Retina 13" late 2013 gets really warm when charging only and the power block gets kind of hot too !
shout I be worried or that's a normal thing ?

It wasn't that hot before I updated to the mac osx marvicks.
Has to do with software compatiability and the OS.
I would check with sketchbook pro / corel painter 12  for a update. Sometimes version upgrades lag behind before a more compatible release.

  • I keep getting electric shocks from my macbook pro?

I bought it in 2011, and for the last year or so it has been giving me electric shocks when charging. I can feel it on my wrists when im typing, and any contact with the lower part of the mac. It can be quite painful and I've stopped using it whilst its charging. It doesn't matter what plug I'm using or what address, I still get it.
It is out of warranty, but I am really not happy that it's doing this. Shall I take it into apple and speak to them about it?

You certainly can and if it is a genius bar at an Apple store, the diagnosis will be free.  Do not discount the possibility that the electrical system you are connecting to may be the problem.
    Ciao.

  • Remove iPhone from case when charging?

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but I would rather post a dumb question than really mess up. Once I read somewhere to take my iPod out of its case when I charge it, I guess it keeps it from getting too hot or something. My question is, should I take the iPhone out of its case (Marware leather flip vue) when I charge it, either at home or in the car?
    Many thanks in advance.

The iPhone does not get particularly warm when charging, so it shouldn't normally be necessary to remove it from the case. If you're in an already-warm environment (e.g. a hot car) it's probably not a bad idea, though. High heat is bad for fully-charged batteries.
    Hope this helps...

This is a user forum and is not Apple.  I would definitely recommend that you stop using your iPhone and take it to be checked.
