Hook your phone up to your computer and sync it in iTunes. Before doing the sync, check the Photo tab for your device, and make sure you have selected what photos you want to download. You can do this by Event or Album or a combination of both. Check the appropriate boxes on the Photos tab for what you want to do, and then Sync.
Also, when you first hook up your phone, iPhoto may open automatically to import any photos on your phone that are not yet imported to iPhoto. You can do that first, then go to iTunes to sync the device.

Can't get photos from iPhoto to iPod

My iPod software won't recognize my iPhoto library so I can't synch pictures. When I select the iPod Option to synchronize photos from iPhoto and do an iPod update, it doesn't transfer and photos from iPhoto and in fact it unchecks the synchronize photos option in the iPod software. I'm using a 60GB video iPod w/the current iPod software, iTunes 6.0.1, iPhoto 5.0.4 on an iMac G5, running OS X 10.4.3.

Getting Photos from iPhoto 5 to an iPod
create a special Album in iPhoto for the Nano and place those photos in it you want on the iPod.
connect the Nano to the Mac and when mounted in iTunes open iTunes' preferences and go to the iPod Photos section - Figure 1.
scroll down till you see the album and select it. If you don't want the full sized image files to be copied to the Nano do not select the Include full-resolution photos box.
close the preferences and when the syncing is completed dismount the Nano and then disconnect from the Mac.

It's best to export the photos to a folder and then drag the folder onto the memory card. Memory cards are usually formatted for PCs, FAT 32, which doesn't permit more than a limited number of files in the root directory. Putting the photos in a folder gets around that limitation.

If you set PSE as external editor, be sure you pick the right file, which is not by any means the logical choice. You want this one:
You can also export the photos from iphoto, edit them and save them under new names and reimport the edited photos as new files. This is more trouble, but lets you save as many different versions of your image as you like (iphoto only remembers the last edited version + original).

Move the photos you wish to delete to Trash in iPhoto and then empty the Trash in iPhoto by click Empty iPhoto Trash in the pull down menu under iPhoto.

Getting photos from iPhoto to SD card

I have read many threads regarding this issue, but cannot find an answer that works. I'm trying to get photos from iPhoto to a 2GB Snadisk SD card for display on a digital photo frame.
I have tried direct drag/drop copying and exporting from within iPhoto, and get a message saying "out of free disk space" or "cannot create volume" after about 100MB of photos have transferred. Obviously there's a lot more space on a 2GB card.
I have tried, according to recommendations here, transferring the photos to a desktop folder and then to a folder on the SD card. This works but the photo frame cannot read photos inside a folder, they must be in the root directory.
I tried transferring to the card while in my camera instead of the card reader and get the same results.
I have reformatted the card in my camera and this did nothing.
Any other advice, or do I need to bag the photo frame?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I have the same problem and haven't found the answer. I had to keep adding files one by one but could only get about 102 file, at 76 MB. IB took my 2G card back and used an old 128 KB card. I tried using folders also with no success. Emailed the manufacturer but haven't heard back from them. If you get a solution post it back here.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) or use an external hard drive formed Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

If your iPod touch music is in your iTunes library, you just need to sync the new iPod nano with iTunes, the songs will be transfer to your new iPod. If not, you can follow this guide to transfer the songs from iPod touch to iTunes first, and then re-sync them to your new iPod. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

I can't get a video that I have in iPhoto to move to my iPhone. I have "include videos" checked in the "sync photos from iPhoto" section in iTunes when I have my iPhone connected, but the videos don't sync. I've tried dragging and dropping, but when I hover with the drag over the iPhone icon, it doesn't highlight, making it look like it isn't going to work, so I never let go of the mouse. I must be missing something. Help, anyone? Thanks.

Well, now I'm really baffled. I've tried dragging the video to iTunes window and into the Movies folder. Nothing. I've tried File>Import to Library in iTunes. Nothing. I've dragged it over to the external hard drive where I keep iTunes and then drag it into the Movies folder there. Still nothing. I never get an error message from any of these methods, but I also do not have the video showing up. What the heck am I doing wrong?

I am doing this rather than using the migration assistant to avoid putting any corrupt files on the new MacBook Pro. If you do not want to use Migration Assistant, email the photos to your new computer. Use Transfer Big Files. It's free up to 1GB.
