  • Portal Runtime error when modifying: com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par

    Hello,
We need some help because we get 'Portal Runtime error: iView: N/A Component Name:N/A' error when trying to access portal logon screen.
    This is what we've done:
We've modified com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file and we've uploaded it but it doesn't work. Because of the error, we've overwritten this file with the original one but now it's imposible to access portal.
The situation it seems to be like before the modification of the .par file but we get the same error and can't access portal.
Please, do you know what could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Belen,
Here are the steps you would need to take
    1. import the original par file into the NWDS and name the project as
        com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
    2. Make sure the project name is com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
    3. use winzip/winrar to extract the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file in
        a local directory
4.Under the lib you would find two jar files copy them and paste them in your project
       under dist>PORTAL-INF>lib directory
    5.move the files cert....till umResetPass....jsp into the  PORTAL-INF directory
    6. export the par to the server in question
    7. restart your server
    This should solve your problem..
    Thanks,

  • Getting IPC Exception Error while accessing the R/3 catalog item

    Hi All,
I am configuring Internet Sales B2B Scenario for a potential SAP AFS (ECC 6.0) client. For AFS, IPC is mandatory for AFS configurable materials(grid value items).
I was able to configure the AFS(ECC 6.0), ISA(5.0) with NW2004s via XCM and complete the entire B2B scenario.
But when I try to use IPC for my 2nd shop with AFS configurable materials, I am getting the below Error.(I have maintained all the settings mentioned in the SAP Best practices)
Later I came to know, for IPC 7.0 we have seperate installation/connectivity procedure which I found very technical!
I am into pure SAP Functional, not familiar with Java, Basis etc. Can anyone guide me (share with me some useful cookbook) in resolving this and establish the IPC connectivity?
Thanks in advance for your support. Points granted.

    Hi Beevin,
Kindly check if you function module <method name> is Remote Enabled or not.  The function module should always be Remote Enabled and if it is done so, this error should ideally get resolved.

  • Getting a COM error when calling MenuItemExecute in batch mode

I support an internal document management system for our corporate contracts. Among other applications, I have one that runs nightly in batch mode to store new invoices and connect them via bookmarks to their corresponding “parent” contract files. The original program was created in 2005 with Acrobat 7 (later updated to Acrobat 8) and it worked well for several years. However, a few months ago I upgraded the system to Acrobat 9 and since then the program has not run consistently.
The “program” actually consists of a VB application and two plug-ins. The VB application does as much work as it can with IAC and the JSO bridge, but because the files are (owner) password protected one plug-in automatically applies the necessary password using AVDocDidOpen when the VB application opens the AVDoc. The VB application then also calls the other plug-in using MenuItemExecute. The second plug-in is used to create the bookmarks between the two files by grabbing info off bookmark strings and creating the necessary actions. It also applies the password to the files.
Here is brief outline form is how this is all structured:
    pdDocParent.Open
             pdDocInvoice.Open
avDocParent.Open (This triggers the first plug-in to apply the password)
Create bookmark strings in both files using JSO bridge
MenuItemExecute (To create the bookmark action in the parent)
                                    pdDocParent.Save
                            avDocParent.Close
avDocInvoice.Open (This triggers the first plug-in to apply the password)
MenuItemExecute (To create the bookmark action in the invoice)
                                    pdDocInvoice.Save
                            avDocInvoice.Close
                    pdDocInvoice.Close
            pdDocParent.Close
Since the upgrade, I’m getting a COM error [The server threw an exception. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010105 (RPC_E_SERVERFAULT))] on a non-consistent basis when the application tries to call MenuItemExecute. When I say “non-consistent” I mean that some days the program will process several hundred files just fine. Other days it won’t process any. Then some days it will not process the first, oh, four files but will process the next 300. Usually it runs fine when started interactively, but even then the error sometimes occurs.
I recompiled both plug-ins and the VB app using the Acrobat 9 SDK (headers for the plug-in and the Acrobat type library for the VB app) but that didn’t make any difference. I added code to check if the MenuItem is available and it is in all cases.
After reviewing this more, I got to thinking that perhaps a race condition was the culprit—that a string hadn’t been completely written before the second plug-in tried to create an action for it. So I added some half-second pauses along the way, but that doesn’t seem to have helped, either.
At this point the only thing I can think of is to rewrite the application as a pure plug-in. But it’s a long and involved application and if I can get the current app to work I’d prefer to do that. I tested it with Acrobat 10.1 and encountered similar problems.
As I said, it’s been working fine up until Acrobat 9. Does anyone know of anything that might have changed with Acrobat 9 that I haven’t considered? Is there anything else I might check? Thanks.

    Leonard,
I'd be interested in hearing why you think that because others at Adobe have told me it's OK. Acrobat is only being called by one user at a time and we've paid for a full license.
    Thanks,
    Dick

  • Getting an exception error when adding a server to a cluster

I am using WL 6.0 and have configured a "Machine", two "Servers" and a
"Cluster", and I want to create two servers on a single machine in order to
              test some clustering issues.
I am using the default "myserver" as one of the servers. I have selected

  • Portal exception error recieved when using StringBuffer

    Hello
I have created a portal service. I need to use StringBuffer or StringBuilder class as i do some text concatenation. Since the String is very resource intensive, this is the only best solution. But when i try to append a text to stringbuffer variable, iget a portal exception.
What could be the issue? Has anyone run into same issue? If some one could suggest an alternative, that would be fine too.
    Regards
    Kalpesh

Code is always helpful....and what exception are you getting?  You're not giving us much information to go on....
    Try this:
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
    sb.append( "This is a test" );
    System.err.println( sb.toString() );
This will write "This is a test" to the default trace log file.
Make sure that the string you're trying to append is not null.  Also, if you know that you're going to be creating a string 1000 characters long, allocate the string buffer with a size close to what you think you might need:
    StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer( 1000 );
And, of course, there's always the docs:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/lang/StringBuffer.html

  • Getting run time error while calling smartform

    hi,
i am getting run time error of "maintain output device in your master data" while calling smart form.

      p_output_options-xsf = space .
      p_output_options-xdfcmode = 'X' .
      p_output_options-xdf = space .
      p_output_options-tddest = 'LP01'.
      p_output_options-tdnewid = 'X'.
      p_output_options-tddelete = SPACE.
      p_control_parameters-no_dialog = 'X' .
      p_control_parameters-getotf = 'X' .
      p_control_parameters-DEVICE = 'PRINTER'.

    Hi Neha
Your program looks out for the default printer configured against your user (Check SU01 : Constant tab ). You dont seem to have maintained it properly as a result of which you get this message. You will have to configure your printer device to overcome this error.
Choose menu: System -> User Profile -> Own data.
On the Defaults tab, give LOCL code for the output device.
You can also check the output device setting in transaction SPAD.

    just a tip:
Create your dynamic string in a local variable, so you can easily see why it is giving an exception
create or replace procedure dyn_update(tab in varchar2,col in VARCHAR2) as
       str varchar2(32767);

Was this working before? If yes, any changes been done recently?
Can you find any errors in the database?
Do you have any invalid objects?
Have you tried to bounce the application services or clear the cache and see if this helps?
The only hit on MOS I could find was (Receive Error "... The view instance name of the table and its columns cannot be null ..." When Performing Advanced Search On User Defined Attribute (UDA) in PIM [ID 1207302.1]) but I do not think it is relevant. So, if none of the above helps then please log a SR.

  • BI IView Portal Exception Error SP13

Hi,  Right now we are unable to execute any of our current BI IViews in the Development BI Portal and I’m thinking its SPS 13 related.  (Of course this problem perfectly coincided with some Portal rework I was doing, so originally I thought it was something major I did wrong somehow... )
I seem to have tracked the problem down to the SYSTEM parameter on the BI IViews.  All of the original BI IViews I created over time have a SYSTEM Parameter = “SAP_BW”.  When I create a new BI IView the SYSTEM Parameter is equal to “SAP_LocalSystem”.  The new BI IView works just fine.  If I change the SYSTEM Parameter on my IViews to “SAP_LocalSystem” they also work.  So it looks like for some reason the “SAP_BW” Alias the original BI IViews referenced is now not working correctly.  I checked the system configuration and SAP_BW is defined as an alias and a Portal Connection Check indicates that all connections are fine.
Anyone know what else I can look at to correct this problem?

    Hi Kenneth,
This is a known problem and SAP is working on a fix.  Watch for note 1105913 when it is released.  If you are looking for something in the short term, I believe this will work but you have to do it to each iview:
In order to solve it please do the following:
    1. Open one of the BI iViews for edit.
    2. Switch to property category "Content BW report"
    3. Change the value of the "System" property to "SAP_LocalSystem"
For example, if the value is "SAP_BW", then now is should be
    "SAP_LocalSystem".
    4. Save your changes and try to reproduce the error.
If the problem was solved, reconfigure all the BI iViews
    accordingly.
    Hope this helps.

I was hoping to reinstall the older version of appworld I formerly had, may be my OS version does not support the uphgrade. if possible, could you please send me that link to dowload and install that older version please-I have been looking for such I have not seen. you can send it to my pin <removed>.

  • Why do I get Math Exception Error - the underlying analysis dll was not found

I can find this question in the list, but the answer is about .NET.
I am only using MFC on MS2010. Anybody know which dll I should include?
    Thanks

    Hello Rick -
My guess is that you've only installed the MFC 2010 support, but not run through the actual MStudio installer.  The following instructions come from the "Installing C++ MFC Legacy Support if Measurement Studio 2009 Visual C++ MFC Support for Visual Studio 2008 or Measurement Studio 2009 Visual C++ MFC Support for Visual Studio 2005 Is Not Installed" section of the MFC 2010 support readme.  Please make sure you've followed these instructions, I think it should resolve the errors you're seeing.
Complete the following steps to install C++ MFC Legacy Support on a machine that does not already have Measurement Studio 2009 Visual C++ MFC Support for Visual Studio 2008 or Measurement Studio 2009 Visual C++ MFC Support for Visual Studio 2005 installed:
Log on as Administrator or as a user with administrator privileges.
Install Measurement Studio 2010 or later .NET support for Visual Studio 2010. You can perform a minimal installation—de-select Help, Examples, Visual Studio Integration, Additional Features, and Device Drivers from the installer feature tree. This installs the underlying dependencies required by the Analysis and DataSocket Visual C++ MFC class libraries.
    Double-click the MStudioVS2010CppLegacyR2 self-extracting .exe file.
Enter the password provided in the email you received from National Instruments validating your use of this product and click OK. The file automatically extracts to Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudioVS2010\VCNET on a 32-bit operating system or Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\MeasurementStudioVS2010\VCNET on a 64-bit operating system.
Navigate to the NIACTIVEX folder within the extracted VCNET directory and double-click setup.exe to run the NI Measurement Studio ActiveX Control Installer. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen. You can use the same serial number for this installer that you used to activate Measurement Studio 2010 or later. This installs underlying dependencies required by the User Interface and 3D Graph class libraries. The R2 version includes an updated NI Measurement Studio ActiveX Control Installer; National Instruments recommends using the latest version of this installer.
