Getting the Portal URL in the code

Hi All,
Is it possible to get the URL of the Enterprise Portal (http://<host>:<port>/irj/portal) in the web dynpro code?
Actaully i am sending mails from my application to various users and need to include the URL of the Enterprise Portal in the mail.
How to go with this? Any ideas?

Hi,
If you build the mail message from your dynpro application than you can use this code to get the server name and port:
String hostName = TaskBinder.getCurrentTask().getProtocolAdapter().getServerName();
int port = TaskBinder.getCurrentTask().getProtocolAdapter().getServerPort();
String url = "http://" + hostName + ":" + port + "/irj/portal";

Am trying to test the Collaboration portal url using the below option in SICF but it is only pulling a blank screen.
The path in SICF is : /sap/bc/ui5_ui5/tmui/coll_portal
The webpage does not reflect any error except a blank screen.
Is there any basis side or TM side configuration that needs to be done to have data displayed on that webpage?

But in my system, in SICF only this path is present /sap/opu/odata.
/SCMTMS onwards is missing, so am not able to activate these bunch of services which ideally should be present in the system. Hence am thinking to open a ticket with SAP for the same.

The portal url appears in external links in XML Forms

Hi,
I have created an XML Forms application that should contain a link to an external webpage.
In the Edit view I have created 2 text fields.
1 for the url and 1 urlname for the name of the link.
In the Show view I have created a link (Lable) with:
Hyperlink property: /DataSchema/DataModel/url
Schema Reference: /DataSchema/DataModel/urlName
Style : Function Link
When I run the application It renders the link as a link with the urlname as the name of the link.
Great !! ;0)
...but when clicking on the link it open up a new window with the portal URL + the specified url:
E.g.
Test data:
Name: Google
URL: http://www.google.com
Result:
http://<portalurl>:58000/irj/portal/http://www.google.com
Why does this happen? And what can I do in order to open up the new window with just the url that I have provided (http://www.google.com)

But..
The thing is that it has nothing to do with the application.
E.g. I have tested the SAP_APP_FAQs forms application delivered by SAP.
This forms application has an external link called Read more When I test this forms application everything is OK. It opens up the target URL in a new window e.g. http://www.google.com
This is exactly what I want so I make a copy (save as) of the project. I run the application and believe it or not I got the wrong result: http://<portalurl>:58000/irj/portal/http://www.google.com
I have not made any changes of the application!!
Can any tell me whats wrong?

How to pass username and password with the portal url

i want to access portal from my web site. i have created username and password fields in my web page. when submited , my portal page should open. so how to pass username and password with the portal url.

This is not straightforward; but it is doable.
First tell us about your portal version; portal 10.1.4 has a slightly different method of doing it and the pre-10g portals were completely different animals.
And if you are in AS Rel 2, then the most important document for you would probably be the following:

You might want to use it in conjunction with some metalink notes about your portal version and such a login page.

do you have the full tree in Contentadmin? do you have no entry in the systemadmin? or is it just empty in the lower nodes? this would be normal, you don't see the content in systemadmin, just the defined systems.

How to get a portal URL from backend system?

I'm facing an issue regarding portal-ECC integration I can't proceed with, pls help
we have an ECC linked to ERP portal and have to send email to users from ECC workflow with a link (URL) to portal .. is it somehow possible to get this link or shall I maintain the link in each system manually?

URL Navigation - Portal - SAP Library
The main part:
The regular URL for launching the portal is http://portalserver/irj/portal . To implement URL navigation:
From the Portal Catalog, select the page as it appears within the roles hierarchy with which you want to launch the portal.
From the Quick Info pane below the Portal Catalog, copy the name of the page (PCD URL value) and save it in a text editor, replacing the string PCD: with ROLES:// .
Open your browser and add the following string to the default portal URL:?NavigationTarget =<value saved in text editor >
Save the new URL, which you can then use to launch your portal.

How do I get the phone version of my site to use the same url as the desktop version -- without the "phone" extension. when someone posted a link to my site, they posted it from their phone and it included /phone. Now when people click on it - - it goes straight to the phone version of the site.

Why do we have to create a new user for the server which is consuming the web service? We already have an user "ADSUser" defined for the Web AS server which has ADS services deployed.
I have opened this thread to solve the previous unanswered question I posted on SDN Empty area in place of Interactive form. .
One more thing the adobe print forms of ESS [Total Compensation Statement and Salary Statement] are rendering properly, only the ones with Interactive ability or not.

1. To access the NW04s configuration guide,
 - Go to https://service.sap.com/adobe
 - On the left frame (tree), under Adobe > Media Library > Documentation
 - On the right had pane you will find the link to the NW04s Configuration guide
2. The link that you have mentioned below details the steps required to be carried out on the client machine that consumes the Adobe Document Services. In our case that is the j2ee engine on which your Web Dynpro application is running. It could be the same physical machine with two different j2ee instances hosting Web Dynpro and ADS or it could be two different physical machine or a single machine having a single instance of j2ee engine hosting both the Web Dynpro and the ADS.
You do not have to create a separate username and a password on the consuming machine but you need to configure the Web Service client proxy to point to the ADS (maybe hosted on a different machine) with the username and the password created on the ADS server. As you have mentioned, you have already created such an user on the ADS (ADSUser). This user authentication on the client machine (consuming server - Web Dynpro) would be required at the runtime by the j2ee engine to authenticate itself with the ADS.

How to make the new tabs to open the same URL as the startup page?

I was wondering if it's possible to configure the Firefox in such a way that the new tabs open exactly the same URL that is typed in the Options. I tried to set browser.newtab.url to about:home but it gives me Firefox Google custom page instead of the startup page that I've set in the Options. Another way I tried is to set the browser.newtab.url value in about:config to the same URL as the startup page URL, but then if I change the URL in the options the new tab URL is not changed. So the question is whether it's possible to make the Firefox read the URL that is used for the startup page and go there when opening a new tab.

How do I open a duplicate tab or window that points to the same URL as the current tab?

In earlier versions of browsers, not necessarily Firefox, it used to be possible to launch a new tab or window with the same URL as the current window. I can't find a way to do this in Firefox. It always opens new windows with no URL specified.

Hold down the control key, then drag the tab that you want to duplicate onto the tab bar.

Identifying the Portals based on the URL's

We are planning to integrate Enterprise Portal with Site minder.
There are two kinds of Portal users 1.Citizens 2. Doctors
Idea is when citizen logs in siteminder direacts a URL based on this URL he'will be abel to see Citizen desktop.
similerly when Doctor Logs in to siteminder he will be directed to another URL and Doctor Desktop.
Question is:
is it possible to point out different portal desktops based on the different URL's in siteminder. if so how can we acchive this?

Domain mapping for the portal URL | URGENT

The project is expected to go live in 10 days .The user would be accessing the portal with the URL http://domain.company.com and NOT by http://domain:50000/irj/portal . I need to figure out how can we do that .
We have a WAN network and a public ip has been assigned to the portal production server .We have a company domain reserved to be used for portal server .
What will be required to be done on the portal side or anywhere else for the URL http://domain.company.com to translate to http://domain:50000/irj/portal

Hi Deepak,
You can achieve this by setting up Reverse Proxy in your DMZ such that all internet request hit the reverse proxy server and that re-routes request to your Portal server.
If you want to avoid all these, you can use Html Redirection or Java Script redirection features.
a. Point your request https://abc.comp.com to this html file which would inturn redirect to abc.comp.com:50001/irj/portal.
