Getting the print sizes i want

I am having an issue with photos that I want to size print. If i have a photo all ready to be printed and want to print it as an 8X10, when i put up the crop marks for 8X10, the aera that i want in the photo gets cut off. It is like putting an 8X10 box on the photo versus putting the photo in an 8X10 box. Is there a way to set the file up to print that photo to any size and get that photo to fit the crop size (4X6, 8X10, etc)?

I am sending them out to Mpix. When I upload the file and then go select a photo print size, i am not getting what i want. I just don't want to have photos up there and people would not be able to select the size that want and get the print to be the way it should. I know that sending the files to Mpix and how they print there is probably not a Lightroom issue, but i just want to make sure what i export from LR is going to work.

I can't get the print sizes I want in iPhoto 6

Got the new iMac about three weeks ago, and have installed iLife '06.
I've just tried to print a photo out 4 x 6 and the preview shows the photo in the bottom right of the screen (which is how it used to be on iLife '04).
However, when printed, the picture is just off centre of the A4 photographic paper and measures approximately 2 inches x 2.5 inches.
It's the same if I try to print a 5 x 7 print. The resulting photo measures approx 2.5 inches x 3 inches.
Why is this? Do I need to install drivers?
When I print letters or web pages, everything is fine.
I'm using an Epsom Stylus Photo R300 printer, by the way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I find the iPhoto print drivers terrible and have
given up trying to print directly from iPhoto. If you
have PhotoShop, open up the image and print from
PhotoShop. It has much better printer controls and
has Color Correcting for adjusting the colors for
most printers. I normally use the standard 1998
embedded color profile for all my PhotoShop work.

I have never seen that in the years that I have been using Lightroom. But can you not simply is just the cell size of your image in the Lightroom print module to create your white border and then just print? That's what I do.
The paper size selected in 8.5 x 11". Then I adjusted the cell size to get the appropriate border. I also added a stroke border to this print.

sure pretty simple. make a backup of your current settings

then restore device from old backup you need pics off of
then import pics to computer

you may need to save pics to camera roll first
then restore the new backup and sync pics back to phone via itunes

These two things need to be remedied in their upgrades because It's become such a bother I've had to revert to older versions of PS.

Yea, and it's a pain to get to. What was the rational for removing the print size button? With the magnifying glass tool selected in older versions of Photoshop you would get a button that says "print size" right next to Actual pixels, Fit Screen, Fill Screen. Now I have to go out of my way and dig for it if I want to see the print size. Of all the buttons you could have taken away, why not fill screen? I never use that.
Besides the point I just downloaded the Oct Upgrade for PS and surprise! Nothing has changed and these are two big black eyes on newer versions of Photoshop. The Brush preview window is unchanged in CC but in CC2014 it's basically worthless. If you apply a texture to a brush you can't properly see the scale of the texture, the spacing, scatter, etc...

@Barbara – What purpose is that PDF for? Print? Web?
If web purpose, you could convert CMYK images to sRGB. That would reduce the file size as well.
A final resort to bring down file size is:
1. Print to PostScript
2. Distill to PDF
That would bring file size down even more. About 20%, depending on the images and other contents you are using, compared with the Acrobat Pro method. If you like you could send me a personal message, so we could exchange mail addresses. I could test for you. Just provide the highres PDF without any downsampling and transparency intact. Best provide a PDF/X-4.
I will place the PDF in InDesign, print to PostScript, distill to PDF.

Hi, everyone, does anyone know how to get the size of the disk, say hard disk? In the Writing Device Driver it says that the block device driver must create an 'nblocks' property for each minor block device. I want to get the size of the block device in another driver. Is there any DDI/DKI kernel function for this?
How to get the same thing in a user mode application? Is there any API to do this?

I just found a function in include/sys/conf.h. The prototype is:

Just fixed this on my machine, the easiest way to remove this pop-up assuming you are no longer needing that software to print is the following:
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Application Support"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak
Open System Preferences
Go to "Security & Privacy"
Click the lock and enter your admin password
Click the Firewall Tab
Go to "Firewall Options..."
Find KodakAiO
Right-click KodakAiOBonjourAgent or equivalent (I forget the exact name)
Click "Show in Finder"
Go Back to a folder and delete the Kodak Folder there.
Remove Kodak from Firewall Options by selecting it and clicking the " - " button the base of the list.
or
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Printers"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak

Getting the actual size of the result of a query

I would like to ask if someone knows on how to get an estimate size of the result of a query on a table. To make it more specific, here is an example.
Let us say I have this table called EMP and it has a column called DATE. I have issued a query like this:
select * from EMP where DATE < to_date('01-AUG-08');
I want to get the actual size of the result of the query in bytes or MB. How would i achieve this without creating another table and transferring the data on it.

You can use SQL*Plus Autotrace to have the data size sent between client and database session:

Snow Leopard breaks quite a few drivers - my Canon exhibited the same problem.
I eventually found updated drivers on the Canon website. You can try that with the HP, but if the all-in-one is more than a year or so old, don't hold your breath.
You can also try Software Update to see if it will offer new drivers, or failing that go to the Support Downloads site and search for HP updates.
In fact there's a new one for HP at the top of the list just now.
You may not necessarily want the latest one, though - check the specs to see if your model is covered; if not, search for the previous update etc.
