Gigabyte GTX 650Ti - HP motherboard splash screen hangs

I got my computer back in 2011, since then I've had nothing but trouble with it. Constant issues after issues
This has got to the point where i need some help.
My computer:
HP Pavilion HPE h8-1070uk (look it up on google and you'll see my computer whole)
I7 2600K 3.4 GHz
16GB RAM (was upgraded from 8gb)
Graphics card (temporary for this to be posted) GT545 that came with the computer whole
I changed the ram to 16gb and the graphics card only, the rest is stock.
I put the new card in, christmas present for myself really. Needed an upgrade. When i install it i hear beeping from my motherboard, well more the power supply. I spoke to some people and they said it passed POST.
After it reboots my computer loads the typical HP blue splash screen where you can press ESC, F12 so on, It just hangs there indefinetely. If i can get past that screen by pressing ESC i get a black screen with some information about my computer,
Chipinfo,
Ram info
and down the bottom right there is and this changes depending on what button i pressed at the splash screen. If i chose Startup Settings it would say "Startup Settings" down the corner. Nothing else loads. After a while of trying different keyboard combinations my cpu makes clicking noises each time i press a key. Then i have to Ctrl, alt, del to reboot and try again.
I tried the same thing with my temporary card (gt545) and the same thing happens, but... when i get to the black screen the text is there and a command box pops up with the settings i want to change, so on. The card seemed to not allow the access to the bios and other commands.
Odd...
So, i used my old card to download drivers, because the cd drivers are always out of date. Nothing changed.
The card is firmly placed into the PCI slot, the 6 piece connector is plugged in, fans are running and the HDMI out to my monitor works fine. My vga doesnt work, but the hdmi does.
Still does the same thing.
Please help me.
Just got the card today.
Really would appreciate it.
Thanks

Hi,
The h8-1070uk has on board video support so remove the video card(s) and try booting up using the on board video support. Your monitor will need to have a DVI connector.
The video card may be DOA and/or the power supply may be faulty.

  • Must Press Spacebar or HP Splash Screen Hangs There Indefinitely

Weirdest thing ever... A little background first. I had a VERY hard time getting this computer to do a recovery to factory settings. After about 11 attempts switching between disc set ordered from HP and the recovery discs I made from the computer it FINALLY finished. (All other attempts I got a message that said recovery failed and then had the option of three choices...something like "View Log" "Save Log' and "Retry") What I did that FINALLY let the recovery finish all the way was to press the spacebar on keyboard every time the HP splash screen came up. Then, the little white circles under the hp logo would start moving and it would go on to the next part of the software/driver installation. Now, however, every time I restart the computer I HAVE to press the spacebar once or it just hangs on the hp splash screen. I have done ALL windows updates and all driver updates via HP website. The only additional software I have installed is Mozilla Firefox. I have reset BIOS to factory defaults - Secure Boot back on since I had to disable it to install with discs. Little things like time & date are correct. I've run diagnostic on all hardware and it passes.PLEASE HELP!!!! I have never encountered anything like this before and I am at a loss as to how to fix it!!!!!!!!!! Thank-you for taking the time to respond!!!

HI ,  Thank you for your query.  I grasp that you must press the spacebar whenever the HP splash screen appears to continue. You have done all the Windows and HP updates but the difficulty remains.  You have also reset the bios back to factory. What is the current version of your bios? Have you ran the Windows troubleshooter? If you start in Safe Mode does the difficulty remain? HP PCs - Windows 8 Safe Mode  Would you please try this step.Go to the command prompt and run as administratorType sfc /scannow and press enter This will scan for corrupted files and try to repair them.Once this completes please restart your notebook and run one more time. If the issue remains  please try to determine the offending program uisng system configuration.Using System Configuration (msconfig)Please note the section on services.  I suggest you use the 50/50 method to narrow down the results.Hide all microsoft services.Disable 1/2 of the servies and try starting your notebook to see if the difficulty remains. If it does go back and enable the first 50% and disable the other 50% ( remember to hide Microsoft services) and restart.Continue in this manner to determine if a particular service  is causing the issue. Next I would try a refresh your PC. This should reinstall the operating sytstem but not affect your personal files.HP PCs - Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8). You can contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your notebook to help find and fix the difficulty. Please contact HP support at Contact HP Support   To say thanks for replying please click the thumbs up button below. If this resolved your difficulty, please notify people  by choosing solution provided.  Best of Luck!

  • Long Windows Splash screen hang. While XP/Splash screen is halfway loaded 5mins+

OK so I have been having a problem... I recently installed my Duel Core 4200 x2 939 and everything was good did a fresh install of Windows XP I installed the windows hotfix and then the AMD dual core optimizer and it seemed to slow me down a little so I re installed windows again and decided not to install the windows hotfix nor the AMD optimizer.....so the problem I am facing is when I power on the computer shows the Platinum start up Picture then goes to next screen but before it gets to the Windows XP splash/loading screen it it Pitch black for 4/5 minutes each time(timed it) .... what is causing this?  It did the same thing when I had the Dual Core optimizer and windows hot fix installed sooooo I donno..... Does the Dual core optimized and Windows Hot Fix really help ?

    Point taken Richard
    Anyway, as promised...
I never had any doubt that the enermax power supply wasn't working absolutely 110% perfectly.  Given the price of the thing new and the figures (in sig-hope I got it all ok, I followed instructions mostly!) it had to be alright right? Wrong.
I've just swapped out the PSU from my nix box.  Its only a 400w one so again scaled down this system, damn, works a treat.
Hope that helps you too gameboi or whatever you're crying ass name is.
I must thank aicjofs though for his post.  It gave a starting point to try and figure out what was happening and why.
With boot.ini edited to stop the windows splash screen showing I could see that a fraction of a second before XP starts to load the drivers, the last thing to be checked is nvram (as I understand it this could be both RAM and BIOS).  I just reckon that spinning 5 hdd's and 3 burners, my very power hungry RAM, with the graphics card is just about to come online and obviously the boards normal operation that the power drain at this point is incredibly high.  My PSU, unlike me, just hasn't improved with age! (This is all guessing though, but I really wanted to find some reasonable explaination as to why adding one hdd has slowed startup so much).  The reason the comp works ok after this is that the initial checks couples with the high power drain are done and dusted.  Again just guessing.
I would be genuinely interested on anyones views on that explaination-not here obviously otherwise they'll be handbags at dawn.
Laterz..I have a hot game of Spider Solitaire with my name on it.
Hope the above helps, sincerely.  Not my explaination or guess work, but just the fact that is was the age old problem of power.
    Balders
PS  Where should I start a rant about the appalling layout of this board Disregarding the constant reboots (PSU I'm hoping) and BIOS crashes, the badly thought out heat pipe (that does a fantastic job of heating up the GFX card though), the complete lack of 'Other boot device' in BIOS - one ide slot which has to have hdds on otherwise I suffer the 'delayed write error' (nvidia drivers, bless) so I have to swap cables over to the dvd burners so I can install windows!  Not forgetting the great positioning of PCI-e 1 x16 making the first PCI-e x1 slot unusable.  Flag ship MSI board?  I think not.  Half arsed money making venture...works a treat.  Oh, I already did it!  Thanks, feel much better now!!   I've used MSI boards exclusively in my own and the few other peoples builds I have done.  I will really have to rethink that in 4 or 5 years when I can afford another one after this abortion.
Oh, and what about Dual Core Center?  Again disregarding the spelling mistake on the GUI, a sure fire way to get my comp to lock up is to leave it set on 'Silent' (the only way I found to use cool 'n' quiet - yeah right) for a few hours.

  • Gnome splash screen hangs

This is a minor irriation but I would like to resolve it. When I log into gnome, the splash screen just sits there, if I click on it, it will go away. It does this on four different boxes. I created a new user on one box and it goes away like it should. I tried removing .gconf and .gnome in an attempt to purge config files but it made no difference.
Has anyone seen this or have a fix for it?
I will keep looking in the meantime.

Do you have your "lo" device up with address 127.0.0.1? This happened to me when I forgot to put the network rc script in the DAEMONS array in /etc/rc.conf.
What happens is that gnome-settings-daemon starts looking for fam via portmap. Portmap should listen on 127.0.0.1, so it looks there. If the lo interface is down, this lookup takes forever.

  • System Boots but afer windows splash screen hangs.

    OS: Windows Ultimate SP1
After rebooting my PC, when the windows startup splash screen  disappears the screen stays black with just the cursor present.  No other activity accurs. Waited 10 min and tried again.
The same results occur in booting in safe mode and commanf mode.
I ran the HP Basic System diagnostrics and received this error.
    Smart Check :  Passed
    Long DST : Failed
    FAILURE ID :  RGBRB9-00076C-9XPK1G-61CU03
    Product ID : H2M99AA#ABA
    HARD DISK 1
    I then ran a standalone chkdsk /r and a chkdsk /f
The chkdsk in both cases did not show that any errors were found except receive this message at the end of the chkdsk
Failed tp transfer logged messages to the event log which is status 50
Note - Using the windows Ultimate CD I loaded theSystem Recovery Options tool (Command Prompt).
I thought it odd that when I switched to C: then did a dir, there were no files present. I found files and a windows directory  on D:
My first thought on this is to replace the hard drive but thought that maybe this type of error occured in the past and a resolution was acheived without hard drive replacement.
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
The 24 character error code for the  Long ( comprehensive ) Disk Self Test would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the start-up issue.
If your PC is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - you can check your warranty status Here.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know.

  • Desktop Manager Will not Load. Hangs on splash screen when loading, then crashes

My desktop manager is not loading, and hangs whenever it is attempted to load. I have done a clean uninstall, removed rim registry entries, and did a fresh download and install 3 times with full shut downs between each attempt. I am running Windows 7 service pack 1 with an HP Laptop. It is an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC. Product Number LY080UA. I hope that is enough information, but I will give more if asked and informed how to gather such info.
When I right click on the Desktop Manager Icon, I choose to run as Admin. Once it loads the splash screen shows. After a little bit (4-6 seconds) a small Icon appears in my systems tab at the bottom right of my screen. This stays for a little while and then goes away. After this happens the Splash screen hangs, and get a black border around it. If I click on the Splash screen it grey out and says not responding, prompting windows to ask me if I want to wait for the program or close. If I choose to wait, it will sit there and do nothing. If I close it will prompt windows to "look for an error" but has not yet been able to return an answer.
When I log into safe mode, Desktop Manager loads, but does not work well as only a bare bones set of drivers are enabled. If I turn off all but the non-essential services off using services.msc it will load, but again the services needed for it to run and the services for windows to be fully functional are not on at all.
I have attempted to turn off all but the Desktop manager in the start up, using msconfig, but that does not help either.
I am at my wits end here, and would really like some help with this. It loads up (desktop manager) on my Desktop, but I am unable to log that mammoth box around with me while I travel.
Thank you for your time and efforts, I will be very grateful for any and all help.

I'm having the exact same problem here! I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64. Please help! This was posted a month ago.

  • Hp Pavilion P6724IT Stuck at HP Splash screen after install of new VGA

    Hello people.
I buyed a new VGA, a Gigabyte GT740 2GB DDR5, before that i had an Asus GT630 2GB DDR3 and had no problems with it.
After mounting the new VGA i noticed the computer remains stuck at the initial splash screen with the HP logo.
Can't even get in to the bios, but if i remove the card and use it's igpu it's all ok.
I tried to update the bios to the latest version on the HP site (v.7.15) and nothing.
Tried to install with Windows 8.1, and with windows 7, nothing.
I tried all things i found on the net of people with the same issue, nothing again.
If i am fast enough and i press some keys it gets black screen and remains stuck anyway, do some beeps and then go in some kind of standby and if i keep pressed any key it does some cracklin noise.
Actually i can't afford a new motherboard so i wanted to find out with your help if i can find a solution to the problem, cause it's really frustrating and i spent many time trying to figure it out.
    Sorry for my bad english!
    Hope someone can help me
    Cheers

Something on your system is messing up the fonts or measurement of fonts, causing the UI to be laid out incorrectly.
Have you removed required OS fonts?
Or installed a "font management" utility?

  • New Graphics Card won't get past HP splash screen.

A customer bought in an Hp Pavilion P6755a, well out of warrenty with a failing graphics card. The customer does a lot of gaming so we sugested they repalce the3 graphics card, and get something a bit more powerfull at the sametime.  We settled on an Gigabyte GTX 750TI, as it has resonable power at a low price, but more importanly it doesnt require extra power.
Popped in the new card, but the computer won't get past the HP splash screen, can't enter the BOIS either.
Trouble shooting I have already tried
*Installed a differnt card (GTX 230) which worked fine
*Tried the GTX750Ti in another computer to check it wasn't faulty (The other computer was even older than this one by several years)
*Tried a more powerfull PSU  (it worked fine in a another computer with only a 300W PSU)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello @RileyNZL,
I understand that when you install the GeForce GTX 750 Ti graphics card in your HP Pavilion p6755a Desktop PC it will not boot up. The reason for this is because your motherboard only supports PCI Express 1.0 and the graphics card is a PCI Express 3.0. Theoretically, the card should work, but there is a break in the support chain at around PCI Express version 2.1 where PCI Express 1.0 is no longer compatible. I suspect that your other computer does not have PCI Express 1.0.
I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Problem Installing my new graphic card 760GTX Stucks on HP Splash Screen

I'm using a h9-1185 Windows 7 and I thought I'd update my graphic card from a 7870 to GTX 760 but that was easier said than done. When I try to boot my computer with the new card it stays at the hp splash screen. The GPU is correctly installed I have both cables connected to the PSU. The fans are running properly It's just that I get stuck on the loading screen when I use the gtx 760. I can't press any keys to go to the boot menu, etc. After sitting at the screen for 5 minutes it changes to a black sreen showing at the corner the brand of my Graphic Card (760 PNY etc....) but nothing happens.
When I changed it back to the old graphic card Sapphire 7870, it didn't freeze or anything. It worked fine. I was trying to update my BIOS but I think i have the latest update (v7.09).
Maybe my english isn't good at all, sorry about that.

    John, welcome to the forum.
Did you install the latest driver for the new video card?  This must be done for it to work properly.
Also, when you have the new card and driver installed, I suggest clearing the CMOS:
This motherboard has a jumper to clear the Real Time Clock (RTC) RAM in CMOS.
Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
Move the jumper to clear for 5 to 10 secs, then move the jumper back to default.
Plug the power cord and turn ON the computer.
On the next startup, enter BIOS setup to re-enter user settings.

  • Removed Battery from MB to clear CMOS, Now no MSI splash screen, no booting

    My System:
CPU: AMD 720 X3 2.3 Mhz per core.
    MB: MSI K9A2 Platinum, Version 1, 1.4
Memory: OCZ Platinum II memory, 4 1gb sticks.  667
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD4850, 1GB memory
HD: Seagate Baracuda 7200 500GB memory card.  RAID.  Recently replaced.  I can hook it up as an external SATA -> ESATA to my laptop via a 1.5 ESATA PCMCIA card.
    OS:  XP, SP3, 32 bit
    PSU:  Ultra 750w, +5v 32A
My PC was working, until this.  In the boot menu, I was getting the raid setting instead of the hard drive, so I decided to reset the CMOS.  I changed the Jumper and that did not clear settings enough.  I pulled the battery and reinstalled it.  Now, When I turn the PC on, I just see a black screen.  No MSI splash screen, no Posting.  No response at all.  The MB gets power.  Lights on, fans working, but nothing more.  My main HD is getting power but it is not read.  There is no sound of feel of the heads moving.  As I mentioned, I can access it as an external drive on my laptop and all diagnostics have been fine.
I don't know what I did to my system, but I would really appreciate any help fixing it.  I have built PCs since the mid 90s, and I am sure that all cables are connected properly.
    Thank you.

5V of the powersupply is unimportant, the 12V combined output it (if the psu lists that).
As for the memory, try 1 stick only! See what happens.
The Cmos clear jumper clears everything, HOWEVER! the power from the powersupply MUST be removed!
Else it keeps getting 5V-stb and the cmos won't be cleared.
However, this didn't happen out of the blue, what did you do before this?
12V 45A.  The MB started every time before this.

  • After Effects CC Crashing Immediately After Splash Screen?

Hey guys, installed cretive cloud recently with a full licence but most of the programs seem to crash straight away after the splash screen.  After Effects, Premier, Photoshop and Media Encoder all seem to do this.  Tried signing in, resigning in, uninstalling, using the adobe cleaner and re-install but still the same.  Any ideas why this might be   Thanks.

If you don't have any pressing projects, you could try completely wiping everything off and then reinstalling.

  • Premiere Pro CC won't launch after the splash screen on my new laptop

Got a new laptop from ASUS recently. It has the Geforce GTX 860M, which I know is not offically supported yet, but I've never had problems running Premiere with unsupported cards before and I've read about other people who've made it work. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling using the CC-app several times, to no success.
The problem manifests in two ways. Either the splash screen comes up and when it disappears, nothing happens. It's as if I never opened Premiere and I can try again with the same results. Either that or Premiere opens, I get a windows error message which says there has been an unexpected problem and Premiere had to close. No other explaination.
I tried updating the CUDA-drivers as suggested in another thread, and that worked ONCE, but Premiere wouldn't open again after that.
I have to make a decision on whether to keep this laptop, which in every other way is perfect and runs other Adobe-products fine (except raytracer in AE, but I can live without that until the card is supported), or keep another laptop with the 770M and which is not as powerful and "future proof".
Any good ideas out there would be much appreciated!

Does your laptop have two graphics adapters?
Go to the Windows Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound and then select Device Manager... In Device manager you click the + sign to the left of Display Adapters... and see if 2 are listed

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CC Crash on Splash Screen

My Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 is crashing on the splash screen. My Adobe Premiere Pro CC was not crashing until 2014. I am very angry and frustrated this subpar update was forced on us.
    I have tried:
    Uninstalling and re-installing SEVERAL TIMES
I have tried changing the compatibility issues to windows 7
I have tried running in administration mode
I have started my computer several times
I have tried updating my video drivers
    My computer specs:
    ASUS G75V gaming laptop
    1tb SSD
    12g ram
    3gb video memory
I have deadlines for clients and this is VERY frustrating!!!!

Hey everyone. I'm having the exact same issues. I've been using Premiere Pro CC for over a year, and only just recently started having issues with it.  Now, every time I launch it crashes(not responding) before it even gets to the project screen.
    I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    Intel i7 4820k 3.70 Ghz Processor
Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 graphics card with the latest drivers. 9.18.13.4052
    8 GB of DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
So far I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all graphics drivers as well as Premiere with no luck.
I then uninstalled every single Adobe application, including CC.  Then reinstalled CC and Premiere by themselves.  Still no luck.

  • Hp prime splash screen

Hi. On the hp prime, every time the calculator is turned on the hp logo (splash screen) goes on. How can you disable this? Does the new firmware get rid of this annoyance?

    Hi,
Open up the RUN window and enter MSCONFIG.  Then go to the Boot tab and check NO GUI Boot and then apply..  See the below image.
The above will get rid of the Windows 8 spinning ball.  This tool or use of manual edits will eliminate the spinning ball and the logo.
