Giving control to single vi through web server?

I am trying to set up a web server within my LabVIEW 7.1 software but I
am wondering how you can only give control to a single vi. What I
would like to do is give control to a single vi and then have
approximately 15 other vi's that are read-only.

Not sure I understand what you are trying to do.
What do you mean by "give control to a single VI" and "15 other vi's that are read-only".
The web interface normally just shows the front panel of a VI. This can
be set to allow control of the VI, or just view it. Permissions can be
set so only authorized machines can access the web page with the VI.

File upload through web server to weblogic

I've deployed a web application(*.war) to weblogic server, and try to upload a file through sun one web server(webserver) to the weblogic. The 'webserver' does nothing but bypass the request to weblogic. When I do upload a file to weblogic server directly without though webserver it's ok. I mean the uploaded file would be written to a specfied saving directory on server as soon as the upload process gets start. But with going through webserver, it does not happen immediately. After a long time passed the uploaded file begins to be written to the saving directory. The 'webserver' seems to buffer the amount as much as the file size, and then send them to weblogic. To sovle this problem I tried to change the webserver configuration(magnus.conf) as like,
ChunkedRequestBufferSize 0, UseOutputStreamSize
But doesn't work.
Is there somthing of I'm missing? Get me out of this struggling.

What I'm doing is that first I made a simple upload jsp file using 'com.oreilly.servlet.MultipartRequest', and then try to upload with a html page over IE browser.
That is,
IE browser ( Local PC ) ---> Sun One Web Server ( Remote machine ) ---> Weblogic ( Local PC ).
And I also peeked into the transferred data between webserver and weblogic. What I've found is that all data in the upload file would be buffered into webserver and then flushed out to weblogic at one time. I want to upload the file to weblogic server without buffering in webserver. Rather than a bug of webserver, I thinik I missed some configuration stuff of webserver, or weblogic.
Local PC: Windows XP
IE: 6.0
Web Server: Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP9
Weblogic: 10.3.0.0
upload filesize: 4MB

Running a headless VI in Linux through web server

I need to "embed" a VI in a headless Linux device running labview. Once the VI is running on the headless device I need to be able to connect to the VI through LabVIEW's web server.
I have the web server and page all configured correctly on the device (meaning, I've been able to connect to the VI through a browser and operate it as desired). The trick is, how do I launch labview and the VI on a headless linux device? Ideally, I'd SSH into the device and launch the VI and labview through a shell script, logout of the SSH session; then I'd connect to the VI through the a browser...
Advice?

Figured out a way to do this remotely using SSH. Create a shell script with the following contents
export XAUTHORITY=/home/<your username>/.Xauthority
export DISPLAY=':0'
nohup labview <path>/<your.vi> &
Log in with SSH and run the above script. This launches LabVIEW in the background and allows you to exit the session without killing the VI. Once running, you can connect to the VI throught the web server using the standard method.

Displaying AVI Files through web server

I am using Labview & Vision assistant to analyze an avi file
The file is compressed and is 207KB and 5 secs long
When using web publishing wizard and running the web server i cannot see the video footage on a remote machine over the internet, other data such as a graph however displays fine on the remote machine.
I am using the university internet connection which should be easily fast enough for the data, the connection is at least a T3.

The remote computer may need to have the IMAQ drivers installed on it.

Exporting a crystal report to PDF through web server makes fonts smaller

Hi, I've investigated this issue and found information on the registry keys, and this has fixed crystal designer - so I can load a report, export to PDF and it looks normal. However, when compiling reports through our web-app, the fonts are still small. I've placed keys in both the Business Objects and Crystal Decisions folders on both HKEY_CURRENT_USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, but it doesn't seem to affect the re-distributable at all. Anyone know how I can overcome this?

Redestribute JRE through web server

Hello,
I read the JRE license agreement, and I found that the installer can
be freely distributed with my software (an applet). The question is,
can I put the installer on my web site in order to my customers to
download it?
I don't want to depend on the installer from sun.com.

Suggestion: Ask Sun; click on the "license" link at the bottom.
I know you can distribute it on a LAN, but that's not what you want.

SSO between R/3 and Web Server Filter is not working

I have to configure SSO to access from SAP R/3 to a third-party web application through Web Server Filter.

It seems like there isnt the date in the ticket issued by SAP R/3. However, I tried to configure sso between the same R/3 server and an EP and worked fine.
I also tried to decrypt the ticket issued by R/3 but I get a segmentation fault.
Does anyone can help me?

File Dialog's using Remote Panels (via web server)

I am aware that the web server remote panel access will not allow us to open a file dialog box on a remote computer. I have read people comment that you should create your own file dialog box, using LabVIEW to use instead of the file dialog box.
Has anyone actually done this? I would like know if anybody has source code for this, rather than re-inventing the wheel. Also, will the sub-vi actually just appear on the webserver? i.e. will it actually work?

I have a program that I run on an industrial PC, with no keyboard, video or mouse. We currently control the application using the web server. We have a button to load and a button to save settings. If the files are missing for the load & save, it pops up a file open dialog to choose the file to import. However, while we are viewing the page this way, these dialog boxes do not work.
I would like to know if anyone has made up a file dialog box that I could use, that would display correctly in the web server's remote control.

There is a VI method called Remote Panel Client Connections. It returns an array of clusters with connection information and also has a Controller output. If the controller output is -1, no clients are connected.

in LV 6.1 you can't progammatically disconnect a client that holds control of a remote vi panel.
But you can limit the time the client can hold control:
go on Tools\Options\Web Server:Visible Vis, here you have the control time limit which
specifies the amount of time in seconds a client is allowed to control a VI front panel in the Visible VIs list.

I did not understand very well what you told me.
The directory server is on another machine ex(m1).
I have other web server on another machine ex(m2). This web server working properly (solaris 10). And when I access to application, ldap error does not appear.
This web server (windows, SP11), is installed on my PC.
The ldap configuration on this instance is the same as another web instance (dbswitch.conf):
directory default ldap://m1:port/<base dn>
default:binddn <bind dn>
default:encoded bindpw <passwd>
From my PC I can communicate well with the server ldap, I used a ldap administration program, and users and groups tab of my web server (windows).
I open a browser on my PC, and if I access the other web server works fine.
if I access to my web server, the ldap error appear...
There are commands to diagnose problems with ldap, something about the character encoding windows-unix?

What is the schedule for the bug fixes and enhancements to be integrated into Open Web Server?
Also - It is Dec 18. the online shopping rush is on and many web sites are in lock-down (regarding software changes) until after the Christmas rush. Is there any way for these sites to apply JUST the NSS changes and Xerxes changes so that the vulnerabilities in SSL renegotiation and XML parsing are addressed, but everything else (as much as possible) remains unchanged? Applying an über-patch during the final week of Christmas shopping is not going to be an option for many administrators.

Send data from applet to web server

I want to send data(event notification) to resource through web server using url.
Like,As long as perticular action or event is occuring I am sending that message to url.
I reffered Sevlet theory uses HTTPMessage,but I am confused how should start and what would be feasible?
Even when I run my code I am not finding browser.How should I place an applet in web server page?

I agree usage of HttpClient is a better and a simple method.
But If your Application Requirements are Simple you may go by using URL & URLconnection Objects in java.net package.
