Global storage accross cluster

We need to store information (objects) that are global to a cluster.
It's my understanding that anything stored in the servlet context is
visible to all servers, but it resides on a network drive. Wouldn't
each read of this servlet context info involve a directory read hit
with all its implied performance degradation?
How about WebLogic Workspaces? Is this information replicated
across clusters? Does it live on a network drive as a file as well?
Hoping someone can help us out here.
          Thanks for any help,
          Tiffany

  • Cannot check Allow Third-Party Content from Global Storage Settings panel.

I cannot check the box that says Allow   Third-Party Content To Store Data On Your Computer in the Global Storage Settings panel. I have seen many other people with this issues but they have either been unresolved or the resolutions to the problems do not work for me.
    I am running
    Windows XP SP2 32bit
    Firefox 3.6.6 32 bit
Can somebody please help me resolve this issue?

When you open Windows Explorer, type %appdata% into the address bar, and it will take you to the location.
On Windows XP this is usually C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data
From there go down to the 'Adobe' and 'Macromedia' folders and delete the 'Flash Player' folder in each.

  • Storage 7410 cluster - separating "admin" traffic from "storage" traffic

Please help me figure out a strategy here. We have a Storage 7410 cluster running in an active/passive mode. On each node, I have cabled nge0 and nge1 each to 100Mbps ports and nxge0 and nxge1 to 10Gbps ports. I have configured nge0 to be the "admin" interface for node 1, and nge1 the same for node 2. I have aggregated nxge0 and nxge1 via LACP and it's currently owned by node 1 (fails over to node 2 nicely). Here's the basic layout:
    Node 1
    nge0 -> active "admin" interface -> ip address 172.16.158.33
nge1 -> inactive (owned by Node 2) "admin" interface
    nxge0/nxge -> active LACP aggregate "aggr1" -> ip address 172.16.158.32
    Node 2
nge0 -> inactive (owned by Node 1) "admin" interface
    nge1 -> active "admin" interface -> ip address 172.16.158.41
nxge0/nxge -> inactive (owned by Node 1) LACP aggregate
What's confusing me is routing. Right now all interfaces have IPs on the same subnet. I can define a default route for the gateway on that subnet (172.16.158.1) on the "aggr1" LACP, but only Node 1 gets routed. So, I can add two additional default routes to the same gateway, reflecting each of the other NICs (nge0, nge1). But the way I understand it, there's no guarantee that IP traffic that originated on aggr1 will return via that same interface. Or am I mistaken? Essentially, I want to segregate "storage" traffic from "admin" traffic, and I want to make sure that any host connecting to the "storage" IP address takes full advantage of the 10Gbps aggregate.
    Any ideas are welcome.
    Charles

My assumption above was correct. At some point, traffic was now favored over nge0, so my performance went down from ~200MB/s to about 60MB/s (expected results with Windows VMs on vmware with a NFS datastore). It looks like I may have to abandon the nge ports and lose the LACP (at least until I can get a second nxge NIC in each head). Is that all I can do? Any ideas are appreciated.

  • Cannot check boxes in Global Storage Settings

When I go to the Global Storage Settings panel online I am unable to check the box "Allow third party Flash content to store data on your computer"
Because of this I can not use many Websites that require flash. I can use youtube and hulu, but not pandora or tv websites like comedy central.
I have the latest version of Flash, and this happens in any Web browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) that I try. I am on MAC OS X.
    Any help please!

That's interesting. I thought maybe if I trashed the preferences I too could fix my problem--which is the opposite of
yours/hers.   I want to UNCHECK 3rd Party Content Storage, which is greyed out on the Flash Settings Manager
online.  However, with OS X  10.9.3 in neither Library,  the separate one nor in the System file, under "Caches" is there anything for Adobe. However, you, Katie,  don't say which version of OS X you're using.
If clearing your preferences did it for you, it maybe that you had some older preferences in your cache and
deleting them may have put you into the same situation several of us have found ourselves in.
With this latest version of Flash, we're not  able to UNCHECK 3RD PARTY CONTENT STORAGE.
Thus you didn't have to go back to check or enable it for your needs.
Meanwhile, the rest of us are stuck with it or we have to disable flash.
It'a also interesting to note, that under any of the Flash preferences on my computer, where there could/should
be websites listed where I have allowed storage, or whatever, there is NOTHING listed. The same is true for the online
    Flash Player Settings Manager.  ?????

  • Global NFS Mount & Cluster

    Dear All
My Development server is in LAN environment and other system QAS and PRD is in the SZ2. For transport management configuration, we need to do the global NFS mounting.  But as per my company policy, there is security issue.
The Second issue is that if we mount /usr/sap/trans as global and also part of the NFS then it cluster startup will fail. Please suggest the above directory should be part of cluster or not.

  • How do I specify which Storage DRS Cluster a VM deploys on?

    Hi All,
I have tried utilising the VirtualMachine.Storage.Cluster.Name Custom Attribute to get a VM to deploy onto a specific Storage DRS cluster.
This doesn't seem to work though and the VM's are still assigned sporadically.
I am utilising vCAC 6.1 with vSphere as the direct endpoint.
We have a Metro Storage Cluster.  Each vSphere cluster has 2 Datastore clusters each.
Has anyone had any success with this or is there an alternate Custom Attribute I should be using?
    Regards
    Dave

    Hi,
Thanks for your response, unfortunately this will not work in my situation.
As mentioned, we are utilising vCAC 6.1 and VRM.Datacenter.Location cannot be specified in the Property Dictionary.
I have seen this worked in vCAC 6.0 and it may have returned in vCAC 6.2?  According to > http://vcdx56.com/2014/12/04/heads-up-vcloud-automation-center-property-definition-information/
I am also unable to use Reservation Policy __ReservationID as I have two reservations for each Reservation Policy.
Selecting a Reservation policy would not define a specific Cluster.  If I have a specific Reservation Policy for each Reservation then a user would have to select between two UID's for the reservations that wouldn't make sense to them.
It seems like my only option is to upgrade to 6.2 or create a vCO workflow that assigns a Storage Policy and DRS group depending on the location the system ends up in.
    Thanks for the input!

  • Re: Cannot save 'Global Storage Settings' in Flash 10- Win7

    Hi,
I'm having the same issues. I'm using Win7 Home Premium, Firefox 5.0.1 and Flash 10,3,183,5. I experienced problems loading embedded Soundcloud-tracks (ie in Facebook it develops from the square with the play button to the player but after that I couldn't click anything) and various flash driven videos (300: player initialization failed: error: error #2134).
After some time I came to the point where I wanted to change the Global Storage Settings, I headed to http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.htm l and tried checking the checkbox but nothing happened. None of my settings are saved as well.
I tried de- and re-installing Flash Player and Firefox in various version-combinations but nothing helped. I tried the %appdata%-hint (in WINDOWS-explorer) but it didn't help. It works on my guest profile that normally isn't in use.
I hope I can reopen the thread, maybe there's help 'cause I'm sick of all that searching.

I have the same problem (except I'm in Windows XP Home, Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3).
I can't tick that box "Allow third party flash content..." or keep that slider where I want it (100KB) as it is always back at "None" if I exit the broswer and return to those settings.
I have been referred from this thread:http://forums.adobe.com/message/3559075#3559075
Okay, I'm just updating my post. My Global Storage Settings are now working. Yes!
I did what was said (%appdata%\Adobe, etc) in Windows Explorer this time instead of Windows Internet Explorer (dah!) and it's all good. Maybe the person who started this thread made the same mistake? If so, Windows Explorer is accessible from, Start > All Programs > Accessories

  • Cannot save 'Global Storage Settings' in Flash 10- Win7

I am having a rough time with flash at the moment. I am using Windows 7, Google Chrome, and Flash 10.
Lately, half of the videos and games I try to use are not working. I was advised that it was because the website could not save to my computer, but when I try to select "Allow third party flash content to store data on your computer", it does not let me even fill in the checkbox.
I even attempted to uninstall and reinstall flash, but it is unsuccessful. So.. how can I fix this? If someone could sort of walk me through it (I have no idea about some of these advanced solutions I've seen), I'd be very grateful.

  • Global Storage Settings Issue

    Well, I'm stumped...
I have the newest flash player installed, however I can't use several applications because I'm unable to check the "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer" box. I can move the slider to increase the cache size, but when I switch tabs it resets. The arrow changes to a hand when I mouse over the box, but when I click it does nothing.
I'm using Internet Explorer on Windows 7 x64.
    Thanks!

I am having this same issue. but i use firefox. the addons and plugins are all there. but i cant check the boxes in the global storage settings panel at all. the slider works though..but resets when i change a tab.

  • Global Storage Settings & Update

Firstly, my apologies for the ridiculously long user name. I played the key board in frustration weeks back when registering and haven't been able to change it by updating my Adobe a/c because it won't let me put an address etc that isn't in the US (I'm in Australia).
I've been trying to find an answer to my issue by reading other posts. There seems to be some very similar issues with the latest update for Flash Player but owing to my lack of expertise on the matter I'll outline my specific problem. So, here it is:
I've been locked out of the edit function of my website host account (wix.com) because it requires me to update my Flash Player settings: http://support.wix.com/index.php/Editor_Doesnt_Open
I have downloaded the latest version of Flash half a dozen times now and installed it. Installation always seems to go just fine and no error messages are brought up. The problem is the updated version doesn't seem to have installed itself into any of my web browsers.
The Flash Player Settings Manager (access c/- above link) doesn't even display in Firefox. It does display in Google Chrome (which is up to date & my default browser), IE & Safari.
In order to access the edit function at my web hosting a/c, I need (in Global Storage Settings) to have 100KB on the disc space slider and also the box ticked for "Allow third party flash content..."
The box won't allow itself to be ticked in any of the aforementioned browsers although I can move the slider to 100KB. If, however I exit the page and return later the slider is always back at "None" (I'm not sure if that is normal or not?).
I have AVG anti-virus which I have tried temporarily disabling while installing the update. I have also restarted my computer after installations and so forth but still no luck. Hope someone who has a clue can get back to me. Thanks.

Hi H, I thot maybe that is what happened. Anytime you mention Explorer in the same sentence with Windows, one thinks of Internet Explorer :-) I'm sure many have maybe done that.
Cool, bet you're glad of that!! LOL
I'm not sure what is actually happening when the folders in that location are removed. I can't see how they can be the Flash Folders that the Flash files are located in.
That one person said something about "don't worry, they will just be replaced", remember? I wonder if those folders are holding the Temp folders?
I'll ask Pat when I have time. It would be good to understand it.
    Glad that did it anyway!!!
Thanks for marking your thread as answered also.
FYI  Flash Player has Updated (Security) all platforms; Reader & Acrobat also & Air
FF 4 coming out tonight or tomorrow, IE9 is out, going to be crazy!!

  • Global Storage Settings won't retain desired configuration - Help??

I need it to be 10MB because I store a lot of stuff. I keep running into issues with 100KB.
I have already tried deleting the Flash Player folder under "%appdata%\Adobe" and "%appdata%\Macromedia" but that did not solve it.
How can I get my Global Storage Settings to go to 10MB and STAY there?
    Thanks.

Yeah, this looks like a bug specific to IE on Windows 8 and higher.
I've filed the following bug on your behalf:  Bug#3840386 - [Win8.x] Global Storage Settings control panel doesn't work in IE
As a temporary workaround, you could use Chrome.

Well, it looks like the settings file maintains my browsing history. If I delete It I have to go back to Adobe to recreate from scratch.

Some of the Panels work together.

  • SMB File Share Storage Failover Cluster "path is not valid folder path"

I am having an issue that I am scratching my head over. So I have setup a 3 node Hyper-V host cluster that I am attempting to use SMB File Share storage for the shared storage medium. I have been trying to migrate a virtual machine from one of the nodes
local storage into the file share using System Center VMM 2012 R2 with UR5 however I keep getting the message "The specified path is not a valid folder path on node2.domain.com" for the storage that VMM automatically selects for placement of files
from the migration. However what is odd is to the same file share for storage I can do a new deployment of a virtual machine to the same cluster with the same shares; I can also delete a virtual machine from the share fine; the file share for the virtual machine
I library I am deploying machines from is the same server as the file shares for the cluster that I am deploying to so maybe that is why that succeeds; if I try to move the recently deployed VM from one file share to another for storage same error comes up.
The three nodes all reference the same file server, which is just one file server for the storage, and the shares were created in VMM and as such the file share permissions were setup by VMM so they should be sufficient. I have also attempted this with both
delegation of CIFS and without through AD (trust to specified computers with CIFS, Hyper-V Replica and Microsoft Virtual Console Service via Kerberos only).
I am stumped as to what to check next or how to get this working and would appreciate any guidance anyone can give towards a resolution for this problem.

    Jeff,
    Thanks for reporting this.
There's an known issue with UR5 that VMM gives wrong error when deploying a HAVM onto a SMB share. In that situation, VMM complains "Invalid folder path".
To confirm you are hitting the same issue, would you kindly let me know:
    1. Are you trying to migrate a HighlyAvailable VM onto the SMB share?
    2. On UI of "Migrate Storage Wizard", if you click "Browse", do you see the target file share showing up in "Select Destination Folder" dialog?
    3. By "the three nodes all reference the same file server", I assume you added the target file share onto the list of File Share Storage thru the cluster's properties UI. If so, please go to the UI and check whether the access status shows
    green there.
    4. By "local storage", do you mean "local disk"? Or a shared LUN from any array? I assume it's not "available storage" or "CSV" of the cluster. Please double confirm.
Note: If we are sure hitting the known issue, I will later re-direct you to a hotfix. But let's make sure it is the issue first.
    Look forward to your reply.
