Gnome-color-chooser (gtkrc?) refuses to work [SOLVED]

I wanted to change my panel font color and after some hassle and a bit of googling, I ran into gnome-color-chooser. Made the desired changes, applied and nothing happened. I then copied the content of .gtkrc-2.0-gnome-color-chooser to .gtkrc-2.0 directly, to no avail. I even restarted my panel and still no change. Mind that every manual change in .gtkrc2.0 (icon theme, theme, etc) works flawlessly.
Any ideas?
I'm using gnome-color-chooser 0.2.5 and xfce4-panel 4.6.4.

I use gtk-chtheme, so themes change on-click. Even when I messed with themess gtkrc files, I only had to "reload" a theme (e.g. select another one and then revert it back to the desired, edited one), for the changes to take effect. I will try logging out/in, definitely

Trying to run Gnome-Do gives similar "Mono.Addins...." error messages.
They're both apps that I got very used to using in other distros. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Call Packages - cancellation of "choose to refuse"

Hello BT Customer Service,
Today - at work - I received a call from my elderly Mother who was in a very distraught state. She had contacted BT Customer Service by telephone, and after trawling her way through the telephone menu system eventually reached an operator, who then promptly disconnected the call before she had chance to speak. All she wants to do is cancel the call feature package "choose to refuse." Can a member to the BT forum team perform this task? I have the account details to hand.

Just a wee note to say that I used the live chat facility, while at work. I was doubtful whether I could access the system from my workplace given the amount of IT security but it worked.
I have to say I was fairly well impressed by the speed of the response and the resolution. It remains to be seen whether the service has been cancelled - I was assured that it would be and that my elderly Mother would be refunded any advance payments.
While it is hard to say for definite, from the style of the language used during the chat and name the gentleman, I guess that this centre was not based in the UK. If this were the case then we did not have the problem of accent and speed of speech to content with, which made communication far easier. And at least we did not have to go through the tedious process of press 1 for this, press 2 for that, press 3 for goodness knows what before being directed to another slow and tedious telephone menu system. (I hope BT Human Factors are listening - we can only hold seven chunks of information in working memory.)

I see by your post that the USB isn't being recognized.
I can help you with this issue.
Are you using the same USB cable? (known good USB cable)
You want to use the normal USB slot 2.0 cable and not the latest USB 3.0.
USB 3.0 are supposed to be backwards compatible.
Try another USB port on the Laptop, some of the USB ports are more powered then others.
I have provided a document to see if the printer is partially recognized in the device manager, which is causing the printer not to be recognized again. (the uninstall from the CD should have removed the entry and the printer from the registry)
Leave the printer turned on and the USB cable connected directly to the computer and the printer's power cord directly into a wall outlet.
How do I get into Windows Device Manager?
Here is a document for Identifying problems in Windows Device Manager.
Check to see if there are any hardware driver conflicts, you might see a ! mark or a red x beside a device with a conflict or unknown device, look under universal serial bus controllers, look for USB printing support or mass storage device, delete the entry by right clicking and select uninstall, OK.
Let me know how it was listed. (screen shots welcome)
If this is a Laptop then check the power management settings.
Access the device manager. Windows 8-How do I access the Device Manager.
Select universal serial bus controllers from the list, for each USB root hub, right click and left click on properties, for power management remove the check mark for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". It allows the computer to limit or turn off power for this device.
Disconnect the USB, run the full uninstall and reinstall the printer software again.

Volume adjust refuses to work unless FN is pressed

I didn't start having this problem until a week or so ago. My volume refuses to work unless FN is pressed while f9 or f10 is as well. That or I have to open the function key app and then it will work without the key.
I have windows 8 and my model is the satellite s855-s5378

Try checking the UEFI settings for a function key mode setting. Most models have a toggle that allows you to choose wheter you want to have to hold down the FN key to access the "special" keys or hold down the FN key to access the F# keys. Try switching it.

Youtube and itunes app refuse to work

I've got an ipod touch ..
And i have wifi at home
I am able to use safari but itune store and youtube features refuse to work
every time i click on the youtube and itune icon it tells me :
'' cannot connect to Youtube or cannot connect to Itune ''
I find that weird because it once worked !

CS4: Use HSB as default color chooser

I've searched around, both the forums and the larger interwebs, and there doesn't seem to be a way to default to the HSB color chooser. The "Document Color Mode" can be set to RGB or CMYK, and I realize HSB is just a way to think about colors that end up on the screen or printed, but it seems like there should be a way to work with colors in HSB mode all the time.
I think this could either be achieved by adding HSB to the Document Color Mode option, or at least if I choose HSB in a color picker, that color picker stays in HSB mode (persist the setting).
CS5 please??? Or maybe even better, some hack so I can do it in CS4?

Many have written about this for years and nothing is happening with this team illustaror still deaf. It seems to me that the problem is more in the archaic method of choosing a color than the color model. HSB is not you just get a more intuitive way for humans in the process of creation. Only later doing a color correction from the viewpoint of reproductive technology. But there is probably also an idea how to connect to simultaneously select colors using the HSB and at any time to see and control other industrial areas. Here, checked and according to me a very good idea of choosing a color other Corel Painter Programs that use only a professional is not illustartor.
Another reason for my disappointment Illustartora shoulder CS5 and willingness to buy.

RE1000 - Refused to work with a WRT120N

This refused to work with a Lynksys WRT120N and Network Magic (Lynksys) could not find it. If you don't have a wireless laptop you can't get this junk to work.

I agree with Dibbler. It is important that you have the following before you try to sync your router with your RE1000:
* Wireless channel of your router
* SSID of your ruoter (your router's network name)
* the security settings, i.e. the kind of security you setup on your router (WPA, WPA2, WEP, etc.)
* Passphrase of your network
* Check if the Mac Filtering on your router is enabled. if it is, disable it.
Then you need to get the IP address assigned to your RE1000. Just access the GUI of your router, then go to Status > Local Network > DHCP Client table. It's listed beside "RE1000".
After that, access the RE1000 GUI using the IP you got from the DHCP client table.
Under Wireless tab, click Wireless settings. Choose Manual, then enter the following:
Wireless channel of your router.
SSID (wireless network name) of your router
Wireless security settings (passphrase, security type e.g. WPA, WEP, WPA2.)
Passphrase of your router or network password
Don't forget to save the settings.
Once you're done, go to Status (that's on your RE1000 gui), then check if it's already connected to the WRT120N. It should have an IP address, a default gateway and a subnet mask.
As for Network Magic, for as long as your RE1000 is properly configured with the information posted above, it should be detected by the Network Magic software. It should be visible in the network map.
Bottom line is, IT'S ALL IN THE SETTINGS OF YOUR RE1000 and your router.
But if all that fails, try upgrading your router's firmware. It could be that your router's firmware is not upgraded, hence, the connectivity issues.

I have choose to refuse and I haven't used it for well over 7 months now. Problem is..I can't recall what the pin number is that I changed it to at the time. I have tried countless possibilities to no avail and it's doing my head in because we are getting nuisance calls that I would like to block asap! How do I reset or find out what my pin number is??

After updating to Lion 10.7.5, iCal refuses to work: won't change day/week/month, no previously entered appointments shown, can't add any new ones either. Now what? Of course, I have no backup (didn't think I needed to with iCloud). Aim is 1) to restore function, then 2) populate back from iPod Touch Any help appreciated.

I'll just address the backup issue, iCloud is NOT a backup system, you still need one.

What exactly means "refuses"?
This is the message which comes up if I try to update (from the Help menu) or re-install my licenced copies of CS6 or Photoshop Elements 9.

When I follow these instructions and try and start up/install or update Photoshop CS6 I get the same messages all over again. How to Create a Custom Color Chooser/Palette with 16 or 24bit Color Support

I need some help on how to create a color palette/chooser with 16 bit or 24 bit color options available
First setting up the context:
I am developing an application which allows designing some GUI screens by adding various controls.
Now these GUI Screens developed are compiled and downloaded into a series of display devices with each device having a different color support (For e.g. 256 colors, 16 bit, 24 bit and 32 bit).
Now according to the selected device i would need to provide the "Color Chooser" with only those colors that are supported by the device. SO I need to design a Color Palette(s)/Chooser(s) with 16 bit, 24 bit or 32 bit color options
Could anyone help me out on how to create such palette? A piece of sample code would be a great help

It is not that simple... reason I almost never use those old captions anymore but replaced them by shapes (much easier to format).
Have a look at the available captions: for each caption you'll need a bmp and a fcm file, and follow naming conventions. See:

You should take it to the nearest apple store to let them restore it and activate it. iTunes wouldn't dare restore my ipod touch everytime i tried to restore always an error. So the next day i took it to apple and they fixed it.

Thread refuses to work

Ok, this is the weirdest thing ever happened to me ever since i started working with cellphone programming.
Lately, one of my thread refuses to activate. I have this thread that communicates with a thermal printer to print something right. Well, i have been working developing the interpretative code for it (since the SDK won't do any good for my needs) for about 4 weeks and been working perfectly. But then i tried to implement it on my application i was working on and it refused to work. Well, i though something was wrong with my code so i went back to my test program and tried to invoke de print thread and now it also refuses to work, but i noticed on the device log (i'm developing on blackberry) a IllegalMonitorStateException was thrown in the wait() method of my thread.
My thread is running all the time expecting for me to call it to work so it has this structure

hm it looks like you lost synchronized keyword while making changes in the code.
IllegalMonitorStateException is definitely a WYSIWYC (What You See Is What You Coded). I mean, this exception is indeed the correct behavior for the code you posted.
Consider changing *while(sleep){...}* to something like *synchronized(this){while(sleep){...}}* - that will probably make exception go away, but...
... on the test program there's only 1 thread!!!...but given above, after fixing the exception you can get into the next problem - your application will hang.
You know, it takes two to tango. While one thread waits, there should be another one to notify.
If there's only one thread waiting, it can wait forever. I won't guarantee that this is your case though because from your explanation it is not clear if there's indeed only one thread.
I would also recommend you to consider studying Sun's [online tutorial on concurrency|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/concurrency/]. +"...This lesson introduces the platform's basic concurrency support..."+ - studying it can help fix problems faster than waiting for the answer at the forum. :)
