Go Directly to Career Path 'Results' Page in E-Recruiting (Unreg Search)

Hi,
I am working on the E-Recruiting Unregistered Search Page.
As a default, the Search Criteria page appears as a first page. When the user does the required selection and presses 'Start Search', he is shown the results page with the required record set.
We are trying to go directly to the end-results page and wish to do away with the search criteria page.
Can anyone help on this one please!
What I have studied untill now is that when we reach the search criteria page, the system keeps the stack of all the Controllers that it needs to call in order to display the page. After this it moves that stack to the cookie.
When the user presses the 'Start Search' button, the event 'Search' is triggered and the stack from the cookie is retrieved. And based on the check, whether the event was triggered or not, the additional Controllers are added to the stack and the results page appears.
Now my question is; can we trigger this event dynamically? If yes, then how. What needs to be done in order to just pass through the search criteria page as if it does not exist at all...?
I would highly appreciate if anyone of you could throw some light on this issue...!!

Well doing this is quite hard.
I would recommend skipping TREX search at all.
Make a BSP containing just the result list. Build up your hitlist manually from database, if there is no search, instead using TREX.

I have Google set to show results in a new window, never use Google instant & search filtering off. When I click on a link on the results page Firefox reverts to the search results page almost instantly. I can of course select the desired page (via windows Aero). This happens on several computers, PCs & Laptops.
Not a major problem but VERY irritating. This seems to have happened from a few update ago ?

This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that aren't send or otherwise blocked.
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Simple Question: Building a basic results page

I’ve followed the Dreamweaver CS3 help file:
”Building a basic results page” in building a simple
search and results page set for a very simple MySQL query. After
restarting multiple times, I’m not getting a results page,
but rather “HTTP 500” …no page to display of
course. After extensive web searches for possible help file errors,
suggestions, my errors, etc., I’m lost. I have programming
experience but not with Dreamweaver.

The address bar used to take me DIRECTLY to a site when i typed one word (facebook, twitter, etc), now it takes me to a google search results page instead. How do I fix this?

The URL bar used to work almost as an "I'm Feeling Lucky" search, and take me directly to the website. For example, I would type in "facebook" and it would go right to facebook.com, or "twitter" and it would go right to twitter.com.

The way SharePoint open office documents will differ if the user try to open them from the document library directly, or if users try to open the document from the search result page.

I have a document library where I have uploaded an excel sheet to it. Now If I click on the excel sheet directly from the document library page , I will get the following error ““The webpage cannot be displayed””. While if I do a search and I open the excel
sheet from the search result page , it will open the excel sheet using the excel services inside the browser !!.
So can anyone advice on this ?
Also if I have a PowerPoint document , and I try to open it from the document library I will get the following error “The webpage cannot be displayed” , and the URL will be prefix with the following “ms-powerpoint:ofv|u|”. while if i do a search and i open
the PowerPoint from the search result page i will be prompted to either open or save the document ? So why SharePoint is reacting totally different when trying to open document library items from the document library Or from the search result page?

The behavior in the document library could be probably because of the Documents handling setting. Please try setting it to default behavior (Open in browser) as i hear from you that the default behavior is to open from browser.

Currently I have set the following;-
1. On the library advance setting :- I define “Open in the client application”
2. On the web application setting:- I define stricked for Browser File Handling
And I have noted if I delete the browser cache and I access the document , then I will be prompted with the download dialog. but if I re-click on the same document I will be redirected to the
The webpage cannot be displayed
And the ms-powerpoint:ofv|u| will be added to the beginning of the URL. So could this be a caching problem ?

Display folder path in the search result page

Hi,
I learnt that to customise the search results page, we need to change the SearchResultLayout set . Is there a command that I can add to the "command list" to display the folder/file path in the search results. Any suggestions in this regard is highly appreciated.

What is the best way to build a career path where I can evolve into an SAP role instead of one that is Customer Service based?

In October 2011, my previous employer converted to SAP, as the rest of the worldwide entities were already using SAP. At that time, I was an Order Coordinator, where my job role was to process all of the Inside/Outside Sales Representatives orders for the US. Because of my keen attention to detail, the speed in which I learn new roles and general IT knowledge, I was asked to be the SAP SuperUser for our Financial Operations team. I quickly began to learn the roles of Order-to-Cash, Customer Master Data, Pricing Conditions, Contracts, some Material Master Data, and even Customer/Material Pricing Audits. I also performed manual customer billing in SAP until the automatic modules were implemented. Knowledge of these roles created a need for me to become a trainer to my team, where the SAP Consultants left off. After only working in SAP for the few months after the conversion started, I evolved out of an Order Coordinator rights of access and was given a not-so-typical role as an "analyst". I had more than a firefighter role in SAP, as my normal log in credentials gave me full rights to all of these modules and even special reporting. Our parent global company realized necessity for my role and followed proper protocol to authorize the access changes to still meet the SOx regulations. Prior to using SAP, I never thought I'd fall in love with it and enjoy my job so much, but it happened! Despite my previous employer's less than perfect data that was copied into SAP, we managed to have an efficient ongoing process to clean it all up. I became more of a liaison between Financial Operations and our IT Dept/SAP Consultants. I "translated" the technical steps that IT/SAP Consultants were trying to teach everyone and trained my Financial Operations team in a way they would understand. I truly enjoyed my job, even at our most difficult moments.
However, after all of the fun I was having while working in SAP and truly gaining a ton of useful experience and knowledge, "life" happened and I had an opportunity to move from Atlanta, GA to southern California. I've searched for months to find a new career here in California with a company that I could continue my learning experiences and become more proficient in SAP, but I'm a little lost. My search to find jobs have only given me possibilities in Customer Service positions or ones that are SAP sales/programming based. I'm floating in limbo and looking for help from the SAP community on where I can go from here to get back into a career path with SAP.
I'm 28 years old and I'm currently finishing my Associate degree in Business Administration. I'm a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), certified with the Help-Desk Institute as a Support Center Analyst, and also completed my previous employer's Quality Advocate Certification which focused on Six Sigma and Lean concepts. Prior to leaving the company, I was being considered for a company sponsored training in the Six Sigma Green or Black Belt program. I've recently started working a contract position as a Customer Service Rep, processing orders, but the company will be completing an SAP conversion in May 2013; so only a few months away. The problem I have in this position is that I feel frustrated in learning their current software when their entire team seems to have their own personal ways of doing their job. I prefer to have structure and perform job duties the right way, then building on that to make the job more streamlined. I spoke with my recruiter but he feels I may be a bit premature on feelings about working in this contract position. I may be just feeling a little impatient in having to wait another 3 months to see if the company may even hire me on permanently and what role I would have with SAP, beyond Customer Service Rep. I'm hoping to get some direction from the SAP community on where I might focus my attention in learning SAP. My hope is to find a position working with SAP like the one I enjoyed so much back in GA. I'm even considering options to learn the programming side. I think SAP is a great software package once people understand how it's designed, or can be designed, to work.

I appreciate the length and detail of your post. I struggle answering questions from folks who give too little info. It's refreshing to have too much info for a change.
I'll summarize your post and give suggestions:
You have very strong end user experience, almost bordering on support level SD knowledge. You have experience with the way that at least one company implemented SAP SD but don't have many years of experience with different approaches, so you can't pitch yourself as someone who's "been-there, done-that" outside of the SD world and you can't bill yourself as having SD functional knowledge to the extend that you could be a consultant for SAP SD. (See FAQ: Different Career Paths in SAP for descriptions of different traditional SAP career paths.)
You've moved to Southern California, which is chock full of companies using SAP, by the way, and you're having a hard time finding the right job. Your education is probably going to be problematic at this point. Most SAP related jobs require a Bachelor's Degree at a minimum. Definitely keep on going with your degree. I don't know where you're doing your associate's degree, but you might want to look in to Cal State Fullerton, which has an *excellent* SAP focused business degree program. (http://business.fullerton.edu/).
You've found work at a company but had to start over at a lower level of responsibility. Since the job you just landed will be transitioning to SAP in 3 months, you have an opportunity to repeat your previous rise by volunteering to be a super-user again. Alternatively, you could talk to the group within your company and express your desire to help out supporting the system from the back end. Traditionally, companies lose a few folks immediately following an implementation, so there's a good chance that if you make your desires and skills known, that you'll be able to move onto the support team once a position opens up.
All of the above assumes that you want to continue on the functional side of SD. You didn't mention any aptitude or preference for programming. It is certainly easier to get programming jobs than functional jobs (see How did you get your start in SAP?), but it seems like you really enjoyed the functional side of SAP. I do *not* recommend learning an SAP skill for which you have no desire simply to get a job, hoping that you can switch later. Use the skills you have to get the job you really want, doing something that really excites you. It's far to easy to fall into a job simply because it's there and get trapped and burned out.

How can I show Search Form parameter values in URI of Results page?

I have searched through these pages for posts relating to caching but haven't seen any that relate to my issue.
We run a website that accesses data through search forms and returns matching data to the requester in a results page. The search criteria are entered in a form and the results page is generated by a servlet that gets the search parameter values that the user entered using the GET method.
I would like rewrite this Search page using JDeveloper to bring our old code up to date and take advantage of new features that should help performance. In particular, I want to utilise the WebCache.
To use the WebCache effectively, the cache needs to know what the search criteria were when it delivers a page so that repeated requests using the same criteria can be served directly from the cache.
The data retrieved by a query may change from one search to to the next so I can't use time-based caching. But, I can use the WebCache Invalidation interface from the back-end DB server to flush old data out of the WebCache when it is changed, but to flush out the correct pages I need to know the parameter values passed.
If I just follow the demos, it seems like the search parameters are all hidden in beans or something which means that the Web Cache can't be used for what I want. The parameter values are important.
So my question is: is there a way of showing the search parameters used in the URI to the Results page? Can the old GET method of parameter passing be used (or can I somehow just put the old style parameters onto the URI?)
Alternatively, is there a simple How To or Demo on how to use the Web Caching facility with JSF?
(ADF Caching and Java Object caching do not seem appropriate for my needs. ADF caching seems to be limited to having fragments cached for fixed periods of time and Java Object caching is orders of magnitude slower and involves the Application Server.)

Access query strings in a search results page with custom display template

am trying to create a custom display template in my search results page , so i went to download the itemdefault html file and renamed it and saved as different file.and am started to updating.
the issue i am facing here is : in my search results page there are 2 query strings, which are passed by anotehr .net appln[ another asp.net appln will be sending the query string to my sp 2013 search results page]
but, how can i read these 2 query strings using jslink and new token _#- ?

Adding Fields to People Search Results Page

Hi
Working in SharePoint Online, I've been able to add a few fields to the People Search results page successfully:
Organization
Office Locator
Office Location
Work Phone
Mobile Phone
Home Phone
Work Email
All of the above fields are working and display on the People search results page.
I tried to add these and they simply do not display. There is no error:
University Email
Assistant
Calendar/Scheduling
I set them up the same way. I created the Property in the User Profile area. I then populated the data for each user. I then added the property as a Managed property (search schema) linked to the Crawled property from the People category.
Made sure that they were query able, retrievable, searchable, etc. Then I edited the People Search code and then I waited over the weekend for the search to pick them up. I came into work this morning and they still do not display. Here is

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about adding fields in people search results page.
Per my knowledge, there is no issue in your steps, and the issue may be related to the search crawl in SharePoint online.
For SharePoint server on-premise, we can start the search full crawl, however, for SharePoint online, we could not start the search full crawl manually.
You can wait for some time to complete the search full crawl in SharePoint online, then check whether it works.
As this is the forum for SharePoint server on-premise, I’m not familiar with the SharePoint online search crawl, for this issue, I recommend you can post a new question in the forum for Office 365/SharePoint online.

When I type in an entire address, I get search results page. how can I set the browser to find the actual address.

Is there a way to set the browser to go directly to the address I typed in, instead of providing search results and options for spelling and extensions?

Add Horizontal Line in People Search Results Page

Hi everyone
I have a modified people search results page (SharePoint Online) where I have added a few fields to the results page. I would like to better organize the fields by placing a horizontal line in there somewhere.
For instance, I would like to add a light gray horizontal line where I drew the red lines on this image:

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to add Horizontal Line in People Search Results Page.
I recommend that you can use the
HTML <hr> Tag in the display template file.

How to create URL link for telephone number ,open to account search page and account result page ?

Bussines role - ZCC_ICAGENT
If user open this bussiness role and open Account page ,user enter telephone number and enter search account ,then result will be displayed.Instead of 3 clicks ,user click direct URL link ,telephone number is parameter,account Search and account result page will be opened direct link.
So how to do it..could you please provide me step by step...what are the steps wee need to follow for creating URL ..how to do it..Please help..

Html:link action html:link on results page null

I am sure that this is something simple and small but I have been banging my head against this problem for a while now.
I am using the <html:link> tag on my index.jsp page activates an action, retrieves a result and forwards to the homePage.jsp. The home page has a tiles layout and the results are actually in homePage_lowerLeftLevel.jsp within the homePage.jsp. Below the results I have an <html:link> tag which is identical to the tag in the index.jsp but now instead of seeing the link there is [ServletException in:/pages/homePage_leftLowerLevel.jsp] null' and if I go back to the index.jsp I get the following error�

Having trouble displaying images on my results page

I have tried placing the following code (<img src="*<?php echo $row_rsppleresults['picture_upload']; ?>*>) BOLDED AREA (see code below very last entry) in hopes that it would display the image. However, what happens after I place the code in that location is that I get an invalid code error that there is something wrong with the Italic BOLDED area (see below very last entry). In addition, to that it changes the html formatting on my page when I try to view the page and no image shows up. As of right now when someone fills out the input form the photo automatically get uploaded into the following directory-/public_html/rescuealerts/fomdata/uploads_missing_person_form. I am clueless how to connect the correct image with the correct input information in the search display table. Below you will find the following- my code for the results page and my dynamic table. Everything else in the dynamic table displays correctly. It the images that I can seem to get displayed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First off, you should style the table, rows and cells by using CSS. Also, there is no need for a div within the cell because, again, you can use CSS to do the styling for you. Not only that, depending on the DOCTYPE that has been used, tou will get an invalid markup when using align=left.
Depending on what is included in the picture_upload field (just the name and extension or the complete path and file name) your markup should look like
