Go to query directly.

Hi,
is there any way to go to directly on query from the form or report of SAP B ONE?

Hi,
You can run query which is assigned to field by pressing shift +F2. Let us know your exact requirement.
Thanks & Regards,
Nagarajan

  • Query directly the EM DB tables?

    Hi,
    Is it possible to query directly the DB sitting behind the EM web front end? Where will this DB normally be found, name of the DB, schema, user account, default password?
    Thanks,
    Yoni

    Hi,
    The URL used shows the hostname where the database is running.
    Ask the dba or systems admin fir the oracle user account details on the machine
    Then log in to the machine.
    Thanks

  • Using SQL query directly in DI

    Hi,
    I have a five long SQL query that extracts columns from 2 tables based on conditions and creates 5 new tables with new columns. The query looks some thing like this:
    select a.num_1, b.unid, c.tycod, min(b.csec) - min(a.csec) turnout into
    #tab1
    from un_hi a
    left join un_hi b on a.num_1 = b.num_1
    and ((a.unid = b.unid and left(b.unid,1) not in ('E','Q') and
    left(a.unid,1) not in ('E','Q'))
    or (right(a.unid,len(a.unid)-1) = right(b.unid,len(b.unid)-1)
    and left(b.unid,1) in ('E','Q') and left(a.unid,1) in ('E','Q')))
    and b.unit_status = 'ER'
    left join aeven c on a.num_1 = c.num_1 and c.rev_num = 1
    where a.num_1 like 'F011%' and a.unit_status in ('DP','XE')
    group by a.num_1, b.unid, c.tycod;
    Is there any way i can directly incorporate the above query in DI and run? The source file is excel sheet and output is SQL server.
    Should i use the script in the work flow to execute the query?
    Appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks,
    Arun

    I am not sure if BODI can execute SQL directly from Excel sheet as source...
    Though, you may try to create a File Format for your excel sheet (& multiple tabs), set it as source then use the Query Transform to apply your SQL?
    As stated in the Designer Guide:
    The Query transform can perform the following operations:
    u2022 Choose (filter) the data to extract from sources
    u2022 Join data from multiple sources
    u2022 Map columns from input to output schemas
    u2022 Perform transformations and functions on the data
    u2022 Perform data nesting and unnesting
    u2022 Add new columns, nested schemas, and function results to the output
    schema
    u2022 Assign primary keys to output columns
    Hope this helps!

  • BW Query Directly as Datasource

    Hi All,
    We transported trn's(Query Ele to DSO) to Prod, Everything is fine.
    The problem is we are unable to create DTP's directly in prod as we wont transport DTP's from DEV to Prod.
    While creating the DTP's in Prod, its showing "Selected object is not a valid source of DTP".
    Please help on this.
    Regards,
    Babu.

    It's solved. It was authorization issue.

  • Ref cursor is slower than issuing the same query directly

    We are building SQL dynamically in PL/SQL procedure. SQL is complex enough (pivoting, UNIONS, spatial operations, complex underlying view joining many tables). Then we are opening ref cursor output parameter using the following syntax:
    OPEN p_cursor FOR v_sql using p_param1, p_param2;
    Then client code iterates through the rows of the cursor. It takes about a minute. If we run the SQL stored in v_sql variable directly in SQL Plus (replacing bind variables with values of course), we get 4 seconds response time.
    QUESTION: what makes ref cursor being so slow comparing with direct execution of the same query?

    OK, here are the traces. Execution plans look different. I have called SP (which opens ref cursor) first, then applied tkprof on trace file, copied SQL from that file into SQL Plus (before that I have defined bind variables in SQL Plus) and executed it, so I'm 100% sure that in SQL Plus I'm running exactly the same query SP issues for ref cursor.

  • Query directly from Lookup [QualifiedFlat] multivalued table

    Hi,
    Can i directly query from Lookup [QualifiedFlat] multivalued table without using the main table to traverse to the Lookup [QualifiedFlat] multivalued table?
    to put it simple:
    select * from table1;
    here table1 is a Lookup [QualifiedFlat] multivalued table
    Thanks,
    gayatri

    Gayatri,
    If you query a qualified table you can only get the possible values of the non qualifier field, not all qualified table records in MDM.  To get the actual data from the qualified table you have to go through a main table record.

  • GUI component services: Use static methods or query direct parent?

    Hi
    I have a large panel (covers most of the window) that contains a square grid of smaller panels. Each smaller panel contains a square grid of buttons. For instance, PnlGrid contains a few PnlGridSections and each PnlGridSection contains some BtnGrids.
    There is certain funtionality that must be available to BtnGrid objects but I am not sure if I should simply provide static methods in PnlGrid and access them from everywhere else in the code or have BtnGrid ask its direct parent (i.e. PnlGridSection) to deal with it.
    For instance, I am currently using a static method, PnlGrid.getIconCache(), to retrieve a reference to the icon cache and locate the texture I need from within a BtnGrid. Would it more correct to retrieve a pointer to the direct parent of this button (i.e. PnlGridSection) and have him return the pointer to the icon cache?
    Thanks

  • Xcelsius - BW Query (Direct Connectivity)

    Hi all,
    I am familiar with the method for creating Webbi reports on top of BOBJ universes as here: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs;jsessionid=%28J2EE3417500%29ID0707308550DB00320933360746406939End?blog=/pub/wlg/9052
    I know that with the latest EP it is now possible to create Xcelsius dashboards in a more direct way. Can someone please point in the direction of a blog that explains this?

  • SQL Query directly sended to HTML Pages

    Hi,
    Sometime, some SQL requests included in tags like
    <ora:SqlQuery dataSource="example">sql request</ora :sqlQuery>
    are directly sended to HMTL page. I have not this problem with Tomcat 3.3, but with Tomcat 4.1 and 5.0.
    In fact, i have a lot of problems to migrate my site from Tomcat 3.3 to Tomcat 4.1.
    Is there any one to have some problems to migrate ?
    Thanks
    MERCIER S.

    hi Cem and thank you for answer,
    I mean that the request is writing in the HTML Page....
    example of the page
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    </HEAD>
    select * from example;
    </HMTL>
    The user can see directly the request, not the response
    My site is a quite difficult site with a lots of tags. The structure is a copy of o'reilly JavaServer Pages book. All is rigth with Tomcat 3.3 but with Tomcat 4.1, i have a lot of problems

  • Query Column Header when executing directly to spreadsheet

    Hello,
    I've created an ABAP query and added the fields of currency and unit of measure next to the price and quantity.
    When I excute the query directly to a spreadsheet, the headers of the currency and unit of measure columns have the same description as the price and quantity headers. The headers come incorrectly only when executing to spreadsheet. When I execute to ALV, the headers come out correctly.
    For example
    Quantity    Quantity  Amount      Amount
    1.000           EA           250.09       USD
    Has anyone encountered this problem before?
    Carla

    This was fixed in the 4.1 or 1215 build. Please update by downloading or check for updates.

    Hi
    Welcome to SDN forum
    query has got some limitatins compared to Reports which we write using SE38
    these queries are user specific and client specific and can't be transportable and you can't write your own code as you wish like reports
    see the doc
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/35/26b413afab52b9e10000009b38f974/content.htm
    http://www.thespot4sap.com/Articles/SAP_ABAP_Queries_Introduction.asp
    Step-by-step guide for creating ABAP query
    http://www.sappoint.com/abap/ab4query.pdf
    ABAP query is mostly used by functional consultants.
    SAP Query
    Purpose
    The SAP Query application is used to create lists not already contained in the SAP standard system. It has been designed for users with little or no knowledge of the SAP programming language ABAP. SAP Query offers users a broad range of ways to define reporting programs and create different types of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists.
    Features
    SAP Query's range of functions corresponds to the classical reporting functions available in the system. Requirements in this area such as list, statistic, or ranked list creation can be met using queries.
    All the data required by users for their lists can be selected from any SAP table created by the customer.
    To define a report, you first have to enter individual texts, such as titles, and select the fields and options which determine the report layout. Then you can edit list display in WYSIWYG mode whenever you want using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available.
    ABAP Query, as far as I Believe, is the use of select statements in the ABAP Programming. This needs a knowledge of Open SQL commands like Select,UPdtae, Modify etc. This has to be done only by someone who has a little bit of ABAP experience.
    To sum up, SAP queries are readymade programs given by SAP, which the user can use making slight modification like the slection texts, the tables from which the data is to be retrieved and the format in which the data is to be displayed.ABAP queries become imperative when there is no such SAP query existing and also when there is a lot of customizing involved to use a SAP Query directly

  • Doubt in RSRT regarding generate query.

    Hi All,
    I have a doubt in transaction code RSRT (Query monitor). Under the tab environment, there are 2 options.
    1) Generate queries.
    2) Gen.Queries directly as shown below.
    i.e in RSRT> Environment> Generate Query
    and   RSRT> Environment> Gen. Query directly.
    I would like to know what the functions of these two options are and what they do?
    And also would like to know how these 2 are different from generate report.
    I know generate report means regeneration of query, but what does regeneration of query actually do?

    1) generate queries = generate the query @ next call.
    This means it does not gets generated unless the query is called by a workbook, web template,...
    2) Directly: generates the selected queries directly.
    Generation of a query:  a query is in fact an ABAP program.  This program is created by the BI system.
    To generate a query is to 'create' the ABAP program for the query.
    You can also delete the old ABAP's (old versions):
    environment -> delete old ABAPs
