GOING OVER THE LIMIT

I have had the limited "USB" modem for 6 months and all of a sudden last month went over the 5120.  Not by much, but I had never even come close to going over before.  When I checked daily use on the bill there are several days of higher than my normal use.  It didn't take many days of triple and quad  to trigger extra charges.  The time and sites that I use have not significantly changed.
Now, someone tells me that my computer can be running things in the background that I don't even know about.  Someone also mentioned that the little light on the front of my laptop flashes when info is being received.
Can someone tell me what the heck is happening and how I can stop it.

Try to call everyday to verizon and check your data usage, keep in mind that Verizon has a 72 hour delay on some data usage and if your roaming it can be up to 30 day delay.  Also if your going to go over everymonth you might want to look into Virgin Mobil they are unlimited for $49.99 or get another Verizon Wireless Modem.  It is better to $120 a month and have 10GB to play with than to get a bill for $300...

  • Will I get charged for going over the CC limit?

I have a CC that I just basically maxed out without going over the limit but was real close.  I want to know if when they calculate the interests on the debt with that put me over the limit on the card which will then trigger them to charge me a fee for going over the limit? I know I should not do this but I have a check coming in a couple of months that will clear the debt completely so no worries there. Thanks in advance

It depends on the terms on the card.  Most of them have an over the limit fee.  The will charge interest on your statement date which is usually a couple days after your due date. I would pay as much as I can by the due date.  No, since the CARD act, they DON'T have over the limit fees, unless you opt in.  (If you don't, charges over the CL can be denied).   So you should be fine.Sorry to give out wrong info.  I think I'll stop posting from now on. There is absolutely no reason for you to stop posting.  We all have once upon a time posted wrong info so there isn't any shame in doing so.  The point of the forum is to learn and not everyone is aware of the provisions of the Card Act, myself included.

  • Why is the text going over the image????

Please refer to video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rN6Ndm9sFo&feature=youtu.b
Why is the text going over the image when the text layer is below the image layer?? It is so frustrating.

Are you sending the texts to his phone number or his Apple ID? It might be that the texts originated from your phone is to his Apple ID and not his phone number and his Apple ID was not registered for the Message app on his phone. So any texts to his Apple ID is not received by his phone.
Can you receive his texts? If yes, then reply back from what he send you and see if he can receive the texts.

I'm using Lightroom cc, I'm trying to create a develop preset. I'm making changes to one photo that I want to apply to many other photos, one of the changes is to blur the background using the adjustment brush. When I am blurring I am going over the photo several times, when I go to create the preset the adjustment brush is not an option to check. How do I add the adjustment brush to the develop presets. Thanks Ron.

The adjustment brush cannot be added to a develop preset.
If you can replace the adjustment brush with a gradient filter or radial filter, you can add those to a dev preset.
If a gradient filter or radial filter is not an option for you, you can at least create an adjustment preset to remember your brush settings.

  • [SOLVED] Image going over the size of my TV

I just upgraded my TV to a 47'' panasonic SmartTV from my old LV 32'' one.
I connect it via HDMI for video playback and xbmc use: The video card is a nVidia GT 240
The problem I'm facing is, at 1080p @ 60Hz, the image goes over the edges of the TV, like is bigger than the tv itself, so you lose some inches from each side.
At 720, the image looks to fit right but this is not the desired resolution.
I use nvidia-settings in order to tweak xorg.conf, but I had to add some options by hand for the fonts to have 96dpi.
Can anyone help me to find the solution for this?
I have a windows partition for gaming and when I booted it up for testing i faced the same issues.....
    Thanks!!

The problem is the TV itself. I have no idea why, but regular HD TVs usually cut a few pixels from each side, doing a slight zoom in. This is called overscan. You can usually disable this in the TV settings by setting the image size to "fullscreen" instead of 16/9.
Some quick Googling gave me this article, it seems pretty detailed (I'm learning myself right now why all TVs do this).

  • Over the limit notification

Has anyone else noticed that Verizon has stopped sending over-the-limit texts messages to your phone?
I was told they did it at 90%, then about 100%. They have done this for me for a couple of years, this past billing cycle they didn't and i assumed since i had not heard from them, i was not over the limit and didn't checked. Got stuck with an additional charge on my bill.
When I inquired about it, I was told they don't guarantee that they will send text message notifications.
    Anyone else run into this?

I got color change to red in console when threshold
is over the limit, but I didn't get any notification
by email.Did you actually turn on the email action for that limit? It's not automatic as soon as you configure Solaris to send email.
In the Attribute Editor window, right next to where you specified your red (critical) limit in the "Alarms" tab, there will be an "Actions" tab. You need to turn on the email action for the critical threshold. Get rid of the current red alarm and make a new one to test it.
If you want to configure email actions from a single place (instead of for every severity of all the things that can go wrong on each system, by hand): take a look at EventAction:

  • Going over Data limit for the first time?

We have never even gone close to the limit and all of sudden we're over! (1 phone, Mini Droid) I am on WIFI all day, no changes in apps or usage! What else can be going on? Sounds like this is happening to a lot of people too? I turned off the Mobile Data on my phone, and now it's not even connecting to my WIFI though?

I activated my new iPhone on November 7 at about 1 AM. I then  plugged it in, made sure it was on Wi-Fi, and went to bed. When I woke up, I had data overage alerts. My Verizon said that I had magically used over 7 GB overnight. However, if I go to settings and then to cellular data, the amount of data used total was only several hundred megabytes. I called Verizon last night and explained the situation. They upgraded me to a 10 GB plan at no additional charge for the remainder of my pay period (5 days). They also talked to me about things like closing all of my apps immediately after I finish using them and anytime I'm on Wi-Fi making sure I turn cellular data off. I told him that I have had an iPhone for years and have never had to do any of those things. I never have used more then two gigs a month in my whole history of having an iPhone. The representative assured me there was probably some weird glitch so I went to bed last night, after making sure I was on Wi-Fi and plugging in my phone.I checked my usage on my Verizon, and it was it zero gigs before I went to bed. I plugged in my phone turned on the Wi-Fi and went to bed. When I woke up this morning my phone usage on my Verizon showed I had used more than five gigs of data last night. However, again when I go to settings and then to cellular data. My phone only shows I've used several hundred megabytes total since I activated it. I called Verizon support again this morning, and the representative was nice but not very helpful. She did assure me that I wasn't going to be responsible for overage charges, But I am concerned because my phone magically used half of the 10 GB plan last night. I have to have my phone because I'm on call for work, and I'm traveling. The representative suggested that I turn my phone off and turn it back on again. I did that, but I am not very convinced that that is going to solve any problem. I did get her to say on the phone that it was Verizon's problem and not my problem. She assured me that they are working to get this issue solved.
My iPhone is the only device on my plan. Could someone be stealing my data somehow?

  • Will Going Over The Credit Limit One Time Hurt Score Long Term?

I have a flexible spending Chase Sapphire preferred card that has a limit of $7000.  I don't know when, but according to my credit report it shows that my high balance at one point in time was at $11k - I'm guessing this was several several months ago if not over a year. I don't ever keep my balance that high, and I'm sure it was only at that balance for 24-48 hours, and Chase just happened to report to the CB's the day the balance was that high (lucky me).  Currently my balance is really low , around $150. I usually keep the balance at less than $500 at any one time (and if it goes over that, I pay it down several times a month just in case).  Anyway, my lender told me that if I raised my credit limit to around $15k (or at least higher than the $11k balance it had at one time), it would raise my score considerably because it would show that I never went above the limit. So I called Chase, and luckily I was able to get the limit raised to about $13k. I was pre-approved for it, so they did not need to run my credit (good news I guess). My question is - should I expect a score increase just because the one time high blaance of $11k is now under my new $13k limit (instead of over the $7k limit it had). I thought I knew a lot about how credit scores worked, but this is new to me. Is the lender blowing smoke or is this actually a normal thing to expect? Thx

    CH-7-Rebuilding wrote:
Do you see that smoke in the air?  Yep, your lender has no idea what they are talking about. Lots of people have signature cards that have, say, a 5K limit, and might have a 20K high credit.  That is what a signature card is for!  You just have to pay off the amount over the credit limit when the bill comes in. That high credit amount above the limit had no effect on your FICO score.  The raising of the limit might impact your score if it lowers your current utilization, but otherwise it should not matter as far as FICO.  It will help getting higher limits with other lenders, though.   bingo!    many of us move limits or have been CLD during the crunch and have "high balance" many times greater than our CL.    lender is a dummy.

  • What is the best way to limit the audio from going over the -11 volume?

What is command or the tools in the menu list that gives you the option to limit the volume in the audio tracks so they don't go past the -11?
In Sound Track Pro you can "normalize" the volume but this also affects the volume levels of the softer passages too. We only need to stop the audio from going past the -11 decibel.
    Thank you,

Apply the Compressor/Limiter filter. Once you have it set up for one audio clip, you can use the Paste Attributes command to apply it to others.
BTW, don't post your email and phone number in your messages. The forums are accessible to anyone and searchable via Google. It also leaves you at the mercy of spammers. I have asked a moderator to remove them.

  • Do i get charged for going over the character limit

I have an Iphone 5, unlimited texts blah blah blah...
But i've been told that if i go over the 160 character limit when sending a text, i get charged for it?
Surely it just gets counted as a seperate text if anything.
Please help, my friends are getting annoyed that i keep sending them 4 seperate texts -.-

If you have unlimited texting, then you should not be charged... your friends may be if they do not, however.

This would mean that you aren't really removing the element
    from either
Design or Code view. If the code is there, the element is
    there. If the

  • Going over 10MB limit

I have been with BT broadband Option 1 (10 MB) since June 2009 and have just received my first notice telling me that my use was over 10 MB in February and that I willl now be charged extra for this.  My usage has been no more than usual. I rarely upload music or download films to watch and don't use I-player or YouTube. After receiving a warning on 16th February (I think it was) that I had already used up 7MB, I was even more careful with my usage and reduced the amount of time I was online and kept a daily check. However, at the end of last month, I was 1MB over. I'm not sure how this is worked out by BT or how I can check this myself but I consider myself to be a low user and am unable to understand how I could have gone over 10MB.
Seeing the other comments on here, I am beginning to wonder whether this is a ruse by BT to get people to move to their more expensive options or whether they are linking someone else's usage to my account.  Maybe this is a case for Watchdog?
Any advice on how I can verify this or prove my usage to BT would be really helpful please.
    Thanks,
    Jane

One way of checking your usage is by getting the upload/download information from your HomeHub and monitoring it on at least a daily basis. The following is an extract from another thread that you can read for further information.
    http://community.bt.com/t5/Other-BB-Queries/Broadband-usage-OMG/m-p/434143#M16468
The process is not as difficult as it looks:
To monitor your usage with your HomeHub you first have to Login to your HomeHub.
There are various ways to get to your HomeHub but the simplest to describe is
    1. Start your Internet Browser (say Internet Explorer)
2Type 192.168.1.254 in the address bar and hit enter.
    3. If this is the first time you have done this you will be asked to change the default Admin password of the Hub.
       (Otherwise goto step 5)
The default Admin password is usually written on the Hub or supplied on a card or sticker supplied by BT.
NOTE this is Not the the wireless pin , or key, or password.
    4. Make sure you record the new password.
    5.  Now click on Settings
    6. You may be asked to type in your Admin Password.
    7. When logged in successfuly click Advanced Settings   (Top Right end of second row)
    8.  Click "Coninue to advanced settings"
9  Click Broadband  (Top left 2nd entry in second row)
    10.  The Internet  entry on the third row should already be selected but if not click it.
    11.   Under connection information  you should see someting like this
NOTE here that the data is recorded in GB (Gigabytes) not MB (Megabytes)
    12.   IF you want to monitor your usage in detail I suggest you record the following information
date and time of reading, connection time, data transmitted, data received
For convenience I copy parts of my previous post.
There are several things you need to bear in mind.
    1. BT usage is measured at midnight only and occasionally skips a night  so check the date also.
    2. The Home Hub measures usage seperately as up and down so you need to add the figures.
    3. The Home Hub reading is accurate at the time of accessing it but will not update unless you refresh the screen.
    4. The Home Hub reading measures from the last reconnection time so you need to check what the uptime of the connection is to ensure that a reconnection has not screwed up your reading.
    5. The result of all this is that you need to record the readings on at least a daily basis and compare the difference between the two corresponding readings.
    6. If you are experiencing unusual readings from the HomeHub you can monitor it on short periods of time (say hourly or less) and correlate with what is going on on connected devices.
    7. A list of connected devices can also be got from the HomeHUb.
    8. There are other ways of measuring usage per device but your case for proving to BT that their usage meter has got it wrong will be better served by using the advice above.
    9. In my experience I have found that the Home Hub and BT usage meter agree and to my knowledge there has been no posts in this community that have posted convincing evidence otherwise in the form of Home Hub readings and BT Usage monitor readings (or any other readings). There has been posts of new account problems that may have been valid but none for existing accounts.

  • My hard drive have free space over the limit...

Hi every one, I've a strange issue here. My HD indicate me that I've more space than it should but in «About This Mac» and «System Report» I've 36GB left. The strange thing is that there is about 217Gb of Backup? What is wrong...

Do you use Time Machine? If not, do you have it enabled?
If so, it appears to be making backups of your system on your hard drive.
    Here is some info:
    http://pondini.org/TM/30.html
FWIW, you should not have your backup on your startup drive - if something goes wrong with your drive, you will also lose your backup.

  • Can I chose to pay 'over the limit' charges

    Hi there.
Nine times out of ten my 10gb broadband usage is fine however i occasionally watch films and tv shows on my laptop which can take my usage close to the 10gb then i find i spend about a week not really being able to do much online.
To upgrade to 40gb costs £5 more but seems a little extreme. Are there any consequences to just paying the £5 per 5gb charge if i go over and then not if i stay inside the usage. Consequences like it makes me look like a bad customer- affects things like that? I may pay it twice a year or something but I am aware it is a charge and wonder if it has the stigma of bank charges etc
    Thanks

    Hi.
There is nothing wrong, or any stigma attached to having to pay the odd extra fiver. There are no bank charges as such of course.
It's entirely up to you, and actually sounds like a very good option in your case. There is a possibility you may get an email suggesting you upgrade to a higher allowance package - but you can ignore them.
