When i was Checking to see if i could Hide my Apps that i did not Want i found out that Option wasn't available no longer But i did find However that i Could get Rid of some of the Bloat Wear: These Apps below i was able to Uninstall and when i took a look in the All section to see if they were there they were Removed from the Phone!! Now there are apps that you can Disable but there is a Caution that Comes with Doing that: It says that if an App is Disable it say it can cause other Apps to Misbehave.! So removing them would be at your own Risk! But At least we know these (5) can be Chucked away.. b33

If I use the new sync-function, I keep losing my bookmarks or at least some of them during syncronisation. Is the new sync just as bad as the old one?

Just like with the old version of Firefox Sync I keep losing at least parts of my bookmarks when I'm using the new Sync version.
Anytime I change any of my bookmarks on one of my computers, I not only miss the change on other computers, but I also loose parts of the original bookmarks as well.
To me it seems that the new Sync is no better than the old one?

When you switched over to the new account, when you set it up the profile was blank and the name was: "uglings Firefox auf home1-ugling". Then on another login for the same computer, the name on the account was the same, so you changed the name.
So when you added bookmarks on the newly named computer account (the restricted account), all of the bookmark folders disappeared.
Summary for clarification, sorry for the repetitiveness.
STR:

# on new account create sync account that has a blank profile and wait to sync. name is CILBMHVM6DT

Expected:

Results:
Some bookmarks are not in folders that no longer appear in the bookmarks toolbar folder.
2 accounts on the same computer connected to the same Firefox Sync account had the same name and deleted some bookmark folders.
I filed a bug on this:

However in the meantime we can only recreated the folders that are missing on the accounts that you have set up. If this happens again, I will ask if it has to do with the unique identifier of each device attached to an account (I am assuming that its just the name that we renamed) But please also continue the discussion for this in the bug.

Mail Rules suddenly stop working - at least some of them!

I have successfully created a number of Rules in Mail that have worked wonderfully for many months (years!) with no problem.
Suddenly about a week ago the following happened.
1. Some messages (with valid rules) just stayed in the In Box and wouldn't transfer automatically to the folder identified in my rules.
2. Applying Rules to the errant messages sometimes works but others just stubbornly refuse to move
3. Some messages for which there are valid rules actually end up in mail's Junk folder! And all of these refuse to move when subject to the Apply Rules command.
I've checked the addresses and they are all valid but for some reason the Rules just don't work in every case. Lots of the other rules work fine.
I've even deleted the rule in some cases and created a new one using the errant message's address - but I'm still stuck with the same behaviour.
To add insult to injury of the errant mails (all with the same address)
a) some stay in the In Box
b) some transfer to the proper box (in accordance with the Rule) and
c) some go into junk!
Weird or what?
Any ideas?

OKAY. Did the entire list over again. After reboot and importing all 21273 messages those in orange for junk were still orange. Interestingly, I enabled one mailbox that had been disabled for several days and none of those were orange.
After thinking this over, here's how a way was found to get all of messages changed from orange to black:
Open each mail box; hi-light all messages, click format, Click on show fonts and/or click on show colors. Click on black. The go back to the mailbox where All messages are selected and click on that and everything in the box becomes black. Now go back to the color window and with that other "all"
window selected, chose WHITE and then go to the mailbox and click and all messages are now black.
Mail has been closed and re-opened several times after that, and all messages in each of the six mailboxes are now the proper color.
Obviously I will need to set up new rules. Here's where I started:
Open Mail Preferences, Select Junk Mail, Click to enable junk mail filtering
and click on When Junk Mail arrives "leave it in my inbox, but indicate it's junk
and click on each of the following
Exempt from junk mail filtering
Sender is in my address book
Sender is in my previous recipients.
And as a result, if I click on the ADVANCED option at the bottom the following
Junk Mail window comes up:
Description JUNK
If ALL of following conditions are met:
sender is not in my previous recipients
sender is not in my address book
message is Junk Mail
Perform the following actions:
set color of text (box shows orange).
That's it. I hope that's the best way to 'teach it correctly'!!

The MBA is so small and thin many people can't help thinking it is like a Windows netbook - an underpowered toy. It isn't. There's nothing I do on my top end iMac that I can't - and don't - do on my MBA. Of course the iMac has a faster processor, bus speed, and a discrete video card so it is much faster than my MBA. Then again, my computers spend more time waiting for me to do something than I wait for them - and this includes using Photoshop and compiling code.
If I were writing large programs - something like Word for example - I'd want a very fast processor to speed up the compile/debug/compile cycle. But for iOS development your codebase will be much smaller. Frankly I can't see that much difference between a 13" MBA and a 13" MBP for development purposes. Now a top of the line 15" MBP is a different matter with its much faster CPU and separate video card.

Hello! My App store and some other preinstalled apps wont open. Please help!

I've recently started to use my Macbook Pro, and some apps won't open. I've tried to update the software many times, but it still won't open. I really wan't to buy Lion from App store, but (once again) it won't open.
I've also tried to use the Application Disc that comes with every Mac, put that doesn't work either, and when im trying the Software Update option it says no updates are availible.
When I last used my Macbook Pro, I started to delete some programs that took space on my harddrive, and some of these programs were App Store, iPhoto and iMovie etc. When I use the Application Disc, only iMovie and iPhoto(etc. other programs) are updated.
This shows up when I try to open App Store.

Why am I getting a "connection error" when trying to buy a paid app in the Mac App Store?

Okay, so I am currently running OS X Mountain Lion on a brand new Macbook Pro 15 inch (early 2013). I haven't had any problems so far. However, today I tried buying a $10 app in the app store, and when I put in my login credentials to validate the purchase, it showed a loading wheel for about five minutes, then showed in red text, "Connection Error," just below the login fields. I've researched this issue and found it to be a bug in Lion... but no solutions for Mountain Lion. Any ideas?
I tried doing the thing with the Keychain Access, but there were no blue pluses under "Certificates." I should also mention that my network connection is fine.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

Whether the AIR app support create some formats of rich media (besides html5) and share to others within the app?

HTML5 is a choice but not the best for performance reason

I think the real reason they choose INDesign is because it a first a layout tool. Which is what magazine's use for the content. They know the this is where the distribution sector is. You get the Magazine corporations to adopt it, then you add the Multimedia capabilities that provides these same corporations the ability to use their existing layouts as a base then build the interactivity from there.
My issue is that I can't be the only one who saw this need arising. A tool that incorporates layout, multimedia and publishing to various platforms which has power and ease of use is so badly needed. I am amazed that Apple did not partner with someone, especially Adobe to create a tool of this nature.
Creating great applications, apps, and multimedia documents in my opionion should not be developed only by those with great technical skill. Anyone who can conceive of an idea, has good knowledge of Adobe and Apple Professional tools should be able to easily create apps and multimedia documents. Yet no one has developed a good WYSIWG tool. You still need so much coding to get anything done.
All I can say is... the labs division said that September was the release date for the tools they used for the Wired App. So where are they?

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

Well, if it works fine on the Mac, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

Hi all, I had a hunch about multiple ip-addresses not being handled well by Lion server and so far I was right - knock on wood...
I had duplicated the ethernet connection 5 times to allow me to use multiple IP's on one machine. I think it's called multi-homing... Well amongst other things Lion doesn't seem to be well equiped to handle more than one IPv4 and one IPv6, at least Server Admin doesn't seem to get updated all too well when resetting your hostname via Server.app
I think most problems with Lion Server not being reachable I have had originated from this, but I can't be sure untill the server is stable for about two whole weeks. Note that the server has never been stable before for such a long period of time.

You need iOS 5.1 because that is the latest iOS and Apple developed the iPhoto for iOS app to use this most recent version.
If you already have iOS 5.0 or 5.0.1 you can update on your iPhone by going to
Settings > General > Software Update
If you have an earlier version of iOS then you'll have to connect your iPhone to your computer and start iTunes. Select your iPhone in the left column and select General in the right column. Look down the screen to learn about updating the iOS.
The update is free but, especially if you have iOS version 4 something you may also have to update some of your apps. Pages for instance requires a free update to work under iOS 5.1.

Yes. Each one needs to have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 installed in order to re-download from the App Store unless you make your own USB flash drive installer:
Make Your Own Lion Installer
1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that you can use without having to re-download Lion.

Well the term "hotlined" I have never heard before. In any case many states (like NY) just passed regulatory powers to the State Public Service Commission of which it may be called something different in your state. You could file a complaint with them. Or file a complaint with your state attorney generals office, they also take on wireless providers.
The problem here is the staff you speak to are poorly trained, in days gone by it took one call to them and they pulled up your account and see the error and had the authority to remove any errors. They did not remove legitimate account actions, but used their heads instead of putting a customer off or worse lying to the customer.
Its a shame you have to go through what you going through.
