Gráficos en InDesign

Holaaa, che alguien me puede explicar como trabajo con los graficos en indesign porque no me los deja importarlos facilmente desde illustrator. Despues deduje que capas que se trabaja con una biblioteca de graficos pero quisiera saber como genero esa biblioteca a partir de gráficos ai.
El indesign que tengo es el anterior a la aparición de los CS's, y el illustrator es el 10.

No. Lamentablemente InDesign carece (todavía) de esa opción, (ir registrando cada paso o acción que se realiza) los scripts son secuencias o procesos que actuan sobre instrucciones de la aplicación pero tienen que estar definidos de antemano.
Una posibilidad, aunque limitada por lo que sé, al entorno de Mac para añadir una serie de procesos o comandos que se apliquen de forma sucesiva lo puedes conseguir usando Automator, una función o aplicación del OSX. No es complicado y los resultados para hacer cosas similares a procesos por lotes son muy interesantes.

Mejoras para Indesign v. 5

Me imagino que habrá que empezar a hacer las peticiones para la próxima versión. No estoy seguro si los señores de Adobe leen esto, si no fuera así, por favor, quien tenga mano con ellos que le pase las sugerencias.
En primer lugar algunas tonterías que para los señores programadores deben estar chupadas: En el diálogo de impresión poner la posibilidad de imprimir "página actual", y que cuando mando a imprimir varias páginas a volver a mandar a imprimir aparezcan la/s últimas secuencias. Estas tonterías son de WordPerfect y Ventura y ayudan bastante a la hora de imprimir pues no siempre se imprime todo el documento.
Posibilidad de cabeceras/pies de página dinámicas, esta opción la tiene FrameMaker y Ventura, y me imagino que para los programadores no debe ser complicado, para el que no lo entienda es lo siguiente: tengo un libro con varios autores y títulos de los capítulos y las cabeceras del libro cambian según vaya cambiando el título y/o el autor, en FrameMaker y en Ventura (más fácil en este), puedo asignar que en la página maestra, en la cabecera aparezca un estilo, de forma que cuando aparezca ese estilo a lo largo del libro cambia la cabecera de forma automática... ahorra tiempo y evita problemas.
En general recomendaría a los desarrolladores de Indesign una vuelta por Ventura, creo recordar que hay gente de Ventura que se pasaron a Indesign, y tratar de emular lo mucho bueno que tiene el programa.
Otro detalle es el diccionario (no sé como serán de buenos los de otros idiomas), por favor, señores de Adobe compren por ejemplo el diccionario que tiene Corel (se usa en todos los programas) mejor que el de Word, una maravilla. Además no sean como Quark y hagan separaciones de palabra del tipo po-eta, de acuerdo que es un diptongo pero no está permitido. Otro detalle tonto, también lo tiene Ventura, opción a la hora de dividir palabras, que no se dividan al final de página y/o columna.
Bueno conforme vaya acordándome de más cosas las iré poniendo.

Como he explicado parcialmente varias veces en estos foros, los foros de Adobe son, como lo indica su nombre,
de Usuario a Usuario; es decir, no hay participación oficial de personal de Adobe en ellos. Esto no sólo es para los Foros en Español, sino que ha sido siempre así, desde que no había más que los foros en inglés. Lo que no significa que Adobe prohiba a sus funcionarios participar en los foros y, de hecho, hay muchos que lo hacen, pero a título meramente personal y sin representar de manera alguna a Adobe.
Ésa es la situación general. En el caso particular de lso Foros en Español, la situación es un tanto más compleja. Entiendo que se crearon inicialmente para servir de apoyo a un grupo reducido de personas de algún país centroamericano que en este momento no recuerdo, y así vegetaron durante muchos meses, sin nadie oficialmente a cargo de ellos, y con textos mitad en inglés y mitad en un muy curioso español.
A fines del 2003 o inicios del 2004 hubo varias personas de habla hispana que descubrieron la existencia de estos foros, entre las que me cuento. Y que intentamos hacerlos más conocidos ..., y más inteligibles. En lo primero tuvimos bastante éxito, pero no tanto en lo segundo. Esto, porque al hacerse más conocidos, despertaron el interés de algunas filiales de Adobe en Europa, de modo que a mediados del 2004 una de ellas (nunca especificada, pero que parece ser la de Irlanda) se hizo cargo oficialmente de ellos, como también de los foros en francés, cuya historia es paralela a la de los nuestros. Lo cual resultó ser un salvavidas de plomo, ya que no sólo paralizó el proceso gradual de mejoramiento de los textos que se estaba llevando a cabo, sino que hasta ahora no hay signos que hayan puesto a una persona que hable castellano siquiera a vigilar lo que ocurre en estos foros. Menos aún a mejorarlos.
En breve: no esperes que algún funcionario de Adobe se entere de la existencia de tu mensaje en este foro, y menos que haga aldo al respecto.
Los foros en inglés han incorporado temas para recibir sugerencias para futuras versiones de los respectivos programas. Si te manejas aunque sea un poco con el inglés, te aconsejo publicar tus sugerencias en el foro de InDesign. Por lo general, la gente de esos foros es muy tolerante y comprensiva, y aprecian mucho que los extranjeros hagan esfuerzos por expresarse en su idioma, por lo que hacen caso omiso de errores (y horrores) ortográficos y gramaticales. Incluso, varios de ellos parecen ser expertos en adivinar qué quiso decir el autor del mensaje.
Si se te hace cuesta arriba pasar tus sugerencias al inglés, pasa tu mensaje por algún programa traductor y publica aquí el resultado. No faltará alguien, talvez yo mismo, que transforme eso en algo más comprensible y más relacionado con lo que tratabas de decir, para que tú (u otro) lo publiques donde corresponde.

Se pueden hacer GRAFICOS en Adobe Indesign CS???

Quisiera saber esto, porque intento que me cambien el programa en el cual trabajo por uno mas actualizado como el Indesing. Busco en Google la manera de hacer graficos, que no sea por Illustrator o excel, sino por Indesign y me sale "Chartbot", ¿es una herramienta de Indesign o un programa aparte?

Manuel, la herramienta de gráficos de Illustrator sirve muy bien cuandos los gráficos son relativamente sencillos, y ofrece mayor calidad visual y mayor control tipográfico que Excel. Entiendo que si no quieres usarlo es porque el tipo de gráficas que tienes que construir es más complejo que lo que Illustrator permite hacer.
Para ese caso me parece que el ChartBot no es la herramienta adecuada. Sus resultados son bastante pobres comparados con su precio exhorbitante (no cuesta casi lo mismo que InDesign, sino US$300 más). Otra opción sería DeltaGraph, un programa (no plugin) profesional muy superior a CartBot en cuanto a los tipos de gráficos que puedes hacer con él y la calidad visual del resultado (además de que cuesta US$295).

Ortografía en Indesign CS2

¡Hola! Veamos el problema, he observado que cuando paso el corrector ortográfico a un libro en Indesign CS2 éste realiza una primera pasada por todo el texto, pero una vez terminada, siempre que haya hecho una corrección vuelve otra vez al comienzo del libro y comienza a repasar otra vez, si no todas las palabras, todas aquellas que le he dicho que pasemos o que ignoremos, solo cuando no hago ninguna corrección da por finalizado la corrección ortográfica. El problema está cuando tengo el libro dividido en varios capítulos y hasta que no termina con uno no pasa al otro, y claro es repetir el trabajo varias veces... como todo en esta vida tiene algo bueno, que es que cuando hace la segunda pasada observas alguna palabra que habías pasado por alto... pero son la menos y el tiempo que se pierde es bastante... ¿Hay alguna forma de que solo haga una pasada? No me vale el hacer que repase cada uno de los capítulos, en vez del docuemnto entero,pues esa la sé y no me vale, temo pasarme algún capítulo.

Yo todavía estoy en ID 2.02, pero la lógica debería ser la misma.
Lo que describes es el comportamiento lógico de un corrector ortográfico si introduces una modificación
en forma manual; es decir, saliéndote temporalmente del cuadro de diálogo del corrector, para volver de nuevo a él una vez hecha la correción (directamente en ID). Si también es así en ID, la solución es sencilla, aunque no siempre factible; no salirse del corrector mientras se hacen correcciones. Desgraciadamente, a veces uno se da cuenta demasiado tarde que se saltó un error que debería haber corregido, y prefiere volver a corregirlo en forma manual antes de correr el peligro de no volver a encontrarlo, o gsstar demasiado tiempo en encontrarlo.
En resumen, tu problema sería el precio que debes pagar por usar un corrector ortográfico que funciona en forma lógica. Dudo que tenga una solución a tu gusto, como no sea no usar la orden "ignorar" y agregar a la lista cada término que el corrector desconoce, que tampoco llena el gusto.

Auto-generated links exported from InDesign do not work in tablet apps

Hyperlinks automatically detected and exported from InDesign CS6 8.0.1 as a PDF work fine on the desktop version of Acrobat Reader. However, on the iPad version of Adobe Reader as well as iBooks and GoodReader, these links are completely ignored, meaning they are just text.
On the other hand, if I was to manually set the hyperlink in InDesign or Acrobat, the link works fine.
It would be extremely tedious and time consuming to manually reset hundreds of hyperlinks in my documents since InDesign use to handle this correctly.
Is this a bug? If so, it's pretty serious and should be Adobe's priority to fix since millions of people read documents on tablet devices.

No, it's a Feature of Acrobat and reader that they attempt to create links from anything that "looks like" a URL. Other readers lack the feature.
It's not good practice to depend on this in any case as it's hardly foolproof even in Acrobat. Links that break across lines, for example, will not be properly recognized.

Text Wrap options not showing in InDesign CS3

Using InDesign CS3 on a Mac 10.4. I've had this problem for a couple of months now and it's getting past the point of annoying. When I open my text wrap options pallete it's blank even when I expand options. I can see the text wrap icons in my header panel, but I no longer have options to change the right/left/top/bottom margins. Just a general "add wrap" and "remove wrap". Is there any way I can get my pallete back? I've tried defaulting my tools, but still it does not show up. I don't know what to do to get it back.

Did you try resetting preferences? While pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files. If you don't get the message about deleting preferences, you weren't fast enough.

I am having a similar problem - have deleted preferences which did not solve - this is since I installed the latest update - it is very slow - and cannot close - says background task running - but when I open background task window - shows nothing - only way to close is to use Windows task manager and end program

My problem is really weird - ID CC 2014 with the latest update can become very slow - at first it was only when I had other applications going [especially Photoshop] - but for the last week it has been every time I try to use it - even with no other app running.
Mouse movements are delayed, any selection takes forever to take effect. When closing - I sometimes get message saying background task is running [but not every time]
new user account didn't help, deleting preferences neither .
I had several ID files open -closed those - crashed ID - rebooted - opened totally different files - same problem.
However - I have just deleted the file Recovery Data in the users/user name/appdata/local/adobe/indesign/version 10.0/en_US/Caches/InDesign REcovery- and that seems to have temporarily fixed the issue as ID is behaving normally now. [I guess that 's the same as creating another user account]

InDesign crashes every time you double click to open an .indd file on Windows system

InDesign crashes every single time you double click to open an InDesign file and has done so since replacement of the original version of InDesign introduced in the Creative Cloud launch. Does anyone else have this problem? I'd say it was unique to my system if I hadn't experienced the issue repeatedly on several different systems now. You have to relaunch InDesign which then opens the file from recovery, so it saw the file you tried to launch in the first place. This leads me to believe the problem lies with the file association registry of InDesign inside Windows systems. I find it unbelievable that this problem still exists and remains unreported and that a solution hasn't been implemented by Adobe to rectify the issue.
The double click is a fundamental tenant of opening files on a Windows system in the same way a single click is on a Mac. Does InDesign crash ever time a Mac user clicks to open their files, I think not.
Anyone got any ideas other than the obvious which is Adobe actually got their figure out and fixed it.

I'll give it a go. Don't really like messing with the registry on Windows boxes. Yes you can do it, but it can end up being a case of the operation was a success, but the patient died.
Just was rather hoping someone else had already experienced this problem and posted the registry tweak. Didn't want spend hours reinventing the wheel. Not because I'm lazy, but I have so many demands on my time that resolving a minor issue that effects me only seems like it should be pretty low priority.
The system I'm using is brand new, but the problem seems to have followed me regardless which may indicate that it is seated in my synchronization information somehow. Really don't know how that could happen as I'm not an Adobe engineer or have the remotest idea where to even start looking. So I think I'll mark your suggestion as the "Answer" and just learn to live with it.
Windows eh! Can't live with - can't live without it. I'm sure Mac can be just as temperamental. Just have to chalk this one up as being just another ghost in the machine.

I just uninstalled it and am waiting for it to reinstall. I sincerely hope that I have not lost everything that I worked on so hard. Now that mobile me is gone, I have not been able to go between devices to transfer things. I was merely trying to take a document I had worked on and open it in pages, but it said my version was too old. When I updated, it wouldn't load. Now I cannot do anything. I hope that the reinstall fixes it without losing everything. Please advise!!! Yes, I am in panic mode.

How can two people edit the same InDesign CC document?

I am looking for a desktop publishing application that I can use to create programs for a high school choir and am experimenting with InDesign CC. I'll do most of the work creating the progam, but the choir teacher at the last moment will have changes for me or will do them herself. Either way she will be producing the final copy for printing.
In an ideal world we would be able to edit the same file at the same time, me from my office and her from her classroom, not on a shared network, much like Google Docs.
Does InDesign CC have this capability? What steps would I use to approach this problem using InDesign CC?

How do I import multiple Ai files into one Indesign File - whilst still keeping the Ai Files editable and up dateable for the one Indesign File?

Im relatively new to Ai and Indesign, and have been doing Uni work over Christmas, and have a rather urgent question thats stressing me out.
I originally had many art boards in my ai file, but due to the number, I split these into single files to help my computer run better.
Now I want to organise them into one document to save. From searching online Indesign can import these and save as one file, yet automatically update if the original ai file is updated. I would like to do this but just don't know how to do this correctly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, effectively I would like to catalogue the files into one collection so i can save as one PDF and Print as one.:)
I know I could save each AI as a pdf them then merge the pdf's together in acrobat, but I have nearly 100 files so would feel more comfortable seeing them all together before print / saving.
My concern is that if I insert them in Ai, will the file resolution reduce? and will the ai still be editable and would it update the indesign file?

Can I replace Pantone color books in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop?

These new Pantone + books are a pain in ...well... you understand. In my years as a designer, I have just clicked on the correct book and color swatch, but now...
I am using Windows 7 and the CS6 suite of products. We have a company logo in which both main colors have dramatically changed with the new books. I won't go into all of the tricks we've tried to be able to place it in new documents without the color changing. I now think the only answer is to replace the color books as Adobe recommends. I do have two questions, though.
First, can I change the books in all of my products? Adobe only gives instructions for Illustrator and InDesign, but I regularly have to change vendor logos into our company colors in photoshop, and I am finding the color in Photoshop isn't the same when I bring that logo into Illustrator, even though they have the same number.
Second, what are the end results if I do change the books when I send a document to a printer? We usually do our printing in-house, so I am wondering when we buy PMS 2955 if it will be what I see in the old books or the new books. And what will an out-of-house printer be using?
My main two concerns are (1) seeing the correct color on screen and (2) printing the correct color. I don't really care how I get there, but I'd like it to be a permanent fix so I don't have to go in and manipulate swatches every time I add a logo to an item.
