Grandstream GXW4108/Elastix setup , Caller ID problem

First I have to say, I don't know this gateway. But I have seen this before with Linksys gateways where you get the device account ID instead of who called. In asterisk terms you are seeing the called ID and not the caller ID.
Are you sure you have subscribed to the caller ID service from your PSTN carrier? If you do, then the setting you must change is in the voip gateway and not in asterisk. You can use the called id to direct the inbound call via an inbound route to an extension, ring group, queue, or IVR.

Hello everyone I am new to Elastix and VOIP.
I just setup GXW4108 and Elastix. Everything is Ok.But Incoming call show Wrong Caller ID(User ID from elastix trunk).I want to see correct Caller ID.Help!!!!!!!!!!!!

• Cannot setup Caller ID

I am a "fellow member" and my administrator purchased a subscription for me to make calls. When I login to my account, there isn't a "setup caller identification" tab anywhere. I understand the process (verify number by 2 text msgs) but I can't find it anywhere.
The only thing that has "verify number" is under the voicemail tab.

Hi,
Do not use the Skype app to do this. Go to Skype.com from a browser and click the sign in button at the to left hand side of the page. Then sign in with your SkypeId and password. You will then see information about your account. Click on the 'call phones' tab and under your recent call stats there will be a Caller ID setting link. This is where youscan set the caller ID.
If there is anything else or if you have any problems please feel free to get in touch.
Good luck.

• Exchange 2013 cu3 setup fails with 'problem... validating the state of Active Directory... supplied credential... invalid'

Windows Server 2013; Exchange Server 2013 with Cumulative Update 1
Cannot install Cumulative Update 3 for Exchange Server 2013. It fails with
[xxx] [0] [ERROR] Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Active Directory operation failed on . The supplied credential for 'XXX\Xxx' is invalid. See the Exchange setup log for more information on this error.
[xxx] [0] [ERROR] Active Directory operation failed on . The supplied credential for 'XXX\Xxx' is invalid.
[xxx] [0] [ERROR] The supplied credential is invalid.
(Crosses - XXX - replace original values.)
I have found that a few others have experienced the same problem but found no solution, nor could come up with anything myself. If it is any hint, Event 40961 was logged in the Event Viewer around the same time on almost all installation attempts to be purely
conincidental:
The Security System could not establish a secured connection with the server
ldap/xxx.xxx/[email protected] No authentication protocol was available.
Both Windows Server and Exchange Server otherwise work OK, and do not recall any issues with Cumlative Update 1 installation.

Hi vhr1,
Based on my knowledge, the Event ID 40961 is a warning message.
This behavior occurs when we restart the server that was promoted to a DC. The Windows Time service tries to authenticate before Directory Services has started.

• Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory: Could not find information about the local site

Have an existing ex2010 sp3 organization.
Could not run ex2013cu1 setup from my newly built 2012 server, getting the error in the subject line. I used the command line to run the AD preparation steps successfully from my 2012 DC/GC, then tried to run setup again from the new 2012 server and
still get the same error. The error itself in the log is pretty useless:

Hi Srinivasa,
I guess, you didn't completed the initial setup schemaprep and adprep before starting the installation. You can do it as follows:
1. Open command Prompt as administrator and browse to the root of installation cd and run Setup.exe /PrepareSchema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
After finishing this,
2. Setup.exe /PrepareAD /OrganizationName:"<organization name>" /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
3. To prepare all domains within the forest run Setup.exe /PrepareAllDomains /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms. If you want to prepare a specific domain run Setup.exe /PrepareDomain:<FQDN of the domain you want to prepare> /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
4. Once you complete all of the 3 steps, install the pre-requisities for Exchange 2013
5. Finally, run the setup program
Hope this will help you

Hey Verizon / HTC / Google Please fix the caller ID problem, post 2.2 Froyo UPDATE. This is a major Problem.

I have provided some steps below that may help with the Caller Id issue you are experiencing.
Try completing a soft reset on the device. A soft reset would be powering the device off and pulling out the battery. Once the battery is removed, place it back in and power the device back on.
Dial *228 and send. Once dialed, listen for the recording to prompt you for option 1 and select option 1. The phone should complete its programming within a minute.
Ensure you are using the area-code and 7 digit number format (ex. 9999951212)
Try removing the contact and re-adding it.

• Setup call forwarding

I can't setup call forwarding to my mphone phone. I'm getting the error that I need to use the international dialing standard.<br><br>I used (with and without spaces):<br>+1236xxxxxxx<br>1236xxxxxxx<br>xxxxxxx<br><br>Where xxxxxxx is my actual phone number. Is it because the 236 area code is new, or how does this international dialing format supposed to look like?

Hi Xibir,
Oh no! Call forwarding is a great feature, and I am sad to hear that your having issues activating this feature. Let's get this fixed. To set an Immediate Call Forwarding from your work phone,
• Dial *72 then the 10-digit phone number of your personal phone.
• press Send and wait for confirmation beeps/message, and
• press End.
If this does not work, please accept my follow & send us a Private message with your work mobile number. We can set this forwarding up for you.

• How to setup call forwarding

I am trying to setup call forwarding but unable to do as
I know it is not that much difficult but prob I am facing is
That when I try to put the number it does not give any option
To confirm which mean the setup did not complete

Hi Scooter,
There are a few ways this can be done Have a look in CUCM under
Call Routing> Directory number and see if it's set up there. You can have a DID/DN
with Call Forward set up without an actual phone by doing it via this config.
You can also check Device > CTI Route Point as the same "virtual" config can be set there as well.
Cheers!
