  • Performance of an UDF v/s standard graphical mapping functions

    Hello Experts,
    I would like to get your opinion/comments on the performance issues with respect to speed of execution when using graphical functions for doing the date conversion requirement given below:
    Requirement is to convert input date u20182008-12-03u2019 from the source side to u201820081203u2019 on the target side.
    We have used the standard graphical mapping functions 'substring' & 'replacestring' for doing this conversion as explained here: The u2018substringu2018 function is used to capture the part of the string from the source. A u2018constantu2019 with value u2018u2013u2018 is replaced by u2018constantu2019 (empty value) by using the standard text function u2018replaceStringu2019 in the target side.
    We did the same using the following UDF too:
    public String convertDate(String dateStringInOriginalFormat) {
                SimpleDateFormat originalFormatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
                SimpleDateFormat newFormatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyyMMdd");
                ParsePosition pos = new ParsePosition(0);
                Date dateFromString = originalFormatter.parse(
                            dateStringInOriginalFormat, pos);
                String dateStringInNewFormat = newFormatter.format(dateFromString);
                return dateStringInNewFormat;
    From a critical performance point of view, which approach will fare better?
    Thanks in Advance,

    Hi,
    Not only in this case but in general it is always better to use the functions available in MM and only if your requirement is not satisfied with the standard mapping functions then go for UDF.
    Also for your requirement no need of going for substring....you can directly use the DateTransform function available.
    Source --> DateTransform --> Target

    Hello Devi,
    There are three ways you can load Master Data in BPC
    1) Copy and paste.
    Download master data in flat file .Copy the  master data and paste in members of dimension after that process the dimension.
    2) Using SISS Pakage - load Flat File into BPC-Cube
    3) Using SQL Command.

  • W500 switchable graphics

    I have a W500 running Windows 7 x64 SP1.
    I had some issues with the ATI drivers, and am currently running with the latst switchable graphics installed, overlaid by the current catalyst 11.3 drivers. Switching still works fine :-)
    Of course the intel drivers in this combo remain quite out of date - has anyone figured out how to update them?

    Can you explain how you installed the latest ATI Catalyst drivers without disabling the switchable graphics functions? Also, the Lenovo Power Manager seems to be rather closely integrated into the switchable graphics functions--at least the menu functions UI for it--so how does that work with the ATI drivers?
    Finally, what about stability? Any graphics or system crashes?
    I use Windows 7 x64 SP1 too, and I'd be grateful to know.

  • Query on graphics display in SCM 5.1

    Dear All,
    I am using SCM 5.1 and facing some issues while displaying the graphics
    1. In interactive planning, when I select the Graphics options, system displays the name of the planning book as graph title. What are the settings, so that it actually displays the selection characteristics on the graph.
    2. I also want to display the selection characteristics, on the screen when I execute a statistical forecast.
    3. When I select a subset of key figures, from the planning table, the graphic display does not get updated. It still shows all the key figures.
    The graphics function has changed significantly in SCM 5.1. Does anybody have a document listing the enhancements in SCm 5.1 for graphics?
    regards,
    Kedar

    Hello there Kedar,
    First of all you're very right, there are lots of changes from SCM 5.0 to 5.1 in graphics, but unfortunately I did not find anywhere a guide with changes introduced.
    In order to try to solve all your issues I'll strongly recomend you to update SCM until SP7, which introduces quite a lot of corrections in graphic displays.
    Then, have a look at this notes, which do solve more issues regarding graphics:
    Notes:  1228211, 1279862, 1151482
    Main new features, regarding my experience in implementations are these:
    - Users can modify default configured graphic in the interactive table through Switch to Design mode.
    - You can see key figures in table view but not in graphic and viceversa (correct usage of this function require having a look at notes and sp update)
    - Configuration of lines, fonts, sizes and rest of options is a bit more complex but complete.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get the sales value in graphical way

    like bar graph etc

    Hi Sunitha,
    Some graphics functionality is available in the Sales Information System.
    For example in transaction MC(A, run the report and press F5.
    Then the SAP Business Graphics will pop-up.
    If that's not enough for you, you can still save the data in Excel and use Excel Graphics.
    Of course more complete reporting solutions as SAP BI, SAP BO or even SQL Server Reporting Services would give you nicer graphics!
    Best Regards,

  • Forms 10g Function Key Buttons

    Hello,
    I want to create graphical Function key Buttons (F1-F8)(Mouse clickable) to the bottom of all my forms (~650!), like in a terminal. Buttons are the same for all forms.
    Anybody know how to do this? I already managed to assign the proper functions to the Function keys by the frmweb.res file (function Key mapping).
    I was thinking of using a (invisible) framed webpage (html), the top frame displaying the forms aplet, the bottom part displaying the buttons. How to send keykodes from these buttons?
    Regards
    Nils

    Find the file fmrweb.res in the DevSuiteHome_1\forms folder.
    Rename it to something like fmrweb_orig.res
    Copy the file fmrpcweb.res as fmrweb.res. The fmrpcweb file has settings to match the Windows 6i keys.
    By the way, you can edit the fmrweb file with a simple text editor to see how to change it.

  • How to acheive IF elseif elseif else  condition using std mapping functions

    How to perform the following mapping using standard graphical functions:
    if (a = 1)
    result.addValue("3");
    else if (a = 2)
    result.addValue("6");
    else if (a = 5)
    result.addvalue("7");
    else if (a = 10)
    result.addValue("11");
    else
    result.addValue(a);
    can this requirement be acheived without using a UDF?
    Regards
    bhasker

    UDF is better way to get this done.
    you try like this using Standard function:
                                               Const 3    /THEN
                                      (A equals 1)   IF              (output of ifThenElse) ->TragetFiled
                                                            \ELSE
                                                  /THEN     /(output of IfThenElse input to else of first If)
                                              IF               /
                                                 \ELSE
    Like wise for other conditions....
    In else part of ifThenElse, give the output of second ifThenElse. here in ths case you need four ifThenElse.
    CodeGenerated:
    /ns0:MT_/targetFIELD = iF(const([value=3]), stringEquals(/ns0:MT_XML_OB/A=, const([value=1])),
    iF(const([value=6]), stringEquals(/ns0:MT_XML_OB/A=, const([value=2])),
    iF(const([value=7]), stringEquals(/ns0:MT_XML_OB/A=, const([value=5])),
    iF(const([value=11]), stringEquals(/ns0:MT_XML_OB/A=, const[value=10])), /ns0:MT_XML_OB/A=))))

  • Function modules to display graph in a container

    Hi,
       Can anyone suggest me is there any other function module to display graph in a container other than "GFW_PRES_SHOW_MULT"  why because when I am displaying the graph using that function module I am getting boxes in the graph display which is not needed so please send me other function module or tell me whether there is any way to remove the boxes in the graph at the time of display by using the same function module given above.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Bhushanam.

    Hi,
    To add a graphics functionality to ALV Grid;
    1. Add a user button on the ALV Grid control, utilizing "toolbar" event and "set_toolbar_interactive" methods of the class "cl_gui_alv_grid".
    2. As the function of this button, your routine should use GFW objects or "GRAPH_MATRIX..." function modules to display your graph. You implement your routine at the event "user_command".

  • JPanel's wait(long timeout) function

    Hey,
    I wanted to make a line go across the screen when the user clicks a button. I tried calling the paint(graphics) function in the button's actionPerformed(..) function, in a loop so that it can show the line move across the screen.
    in the paint(..) method, I want the line to appear at a location, then I want the panel to wait 1 sec. so everytime teh paint method is called, a new line is drawn, and is now in a location, let's say, 10 pixels from the previous line; then the panel must wait 1 sec before going to the next step.
    It should look like a continuous flowing line across the screen.
    But when I state, in the paint(..) method:
    try{
                wait(1000);
              catch(Exception e){
              }it does not wait the whole 1 second. I know that it must be another component calling the "notify(..)" method, but is there anyway I can make the JPanel wait for a specific amount of time?
    How can I solve this ?
    thanks ;)

    hey thanks for the replies.
    I have so far:
    int count=0;
    int linepos=0;
    private void PlayClicked(){
        play=true;
        stop=false;
        if (pause==false){
          linepos=100;
          repaint();
        while (count<15){
          call();
      private void call() {
          linepos=linepos+20;
          try {
             Thread.sleep(100);
          catch (InterruptedException ie) {      }
          repaint();
          try {
             Thread.sleep(100);
          catch (InterruptedException ie) {      }
          repaint();
       }and in paint(..) I have
    if (play || pause) {
              g.drawLine(linepos,300,linepos,500);
    }K my prob is that now, the thread completely stops until the last loop cycle, so that I only see the last position of the line.
    I first tried to make the thread sleep only once, but what I figured was that it sleeps, then it takes a very small time to set the new location, so it seems as if it automatically sleeps again (in the next cycle of the loop). so if i made it sleep twice, once after the new location has been set, and once after the repaint has been called, it would show the line.
    but it doesnt work. :s
    is there another way of doing this ? :)
    thanks :D

  • Setting ALV grid Graphic properties from program

    Hi all,
    Could any one tell me how to set the properties of the histogram generated by ALV output from program.
    I want to display the value on top of the bar, by setting this property from program.
    Manually i can do this by selecting the graph icon from the alv toolbar, and in the graph, right-click the bar, and from the context menu, select 'format data series', then choose 'Data labels' tab and then select 'Show value'.
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Anup

    Hi Anup
    Yes, ALV Grid uses GFW for the graphics. However, it encapsulates the graphic object and let's your intervention to some extent. To do so, you can use the parameter at the interface of the method "<b>set_table_for_first_display</b>". Here is the information about the parameter:
    <u><b>IT_ALV_GRAPHICS</b></u>
    <i> Settings for displaying the ALV list as a diagram (for example, axis labels). The row type of the table has two fields (variables/value pairs):
    PROP_ID : Assign a constant attribute of the class CL_ALV_GRAPHICS_CU with prefix CO_PROPID_ to this field to determine the changes to be made to the graphic. Use the CL_ALV_GRAPHICS_CU=>CO_PROPID_TITLE attribute, for example, to refer to the title of the diagram.
    PROP_VAL : The value of the relevant topic, for example, 'My Title'.</i>
    You can also find <b>GFW</b> programs as "<b>GFW_DEMO_*</b>". If you want, you can prepare your own graphics and override the standard graphics function of the ALV Grid or add your own graphics functionality. For these you can refer to <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/a1-8-4/an%20easy%20reference%20for%20alv%20grid%20control.pdf">"An Easy Reference for ALV Grid Control"</a>.

  • CCC and AMD graphics card failed after updating driver

    I have an HP Pavilion dv6 6c-32eg laptop.
    I recently tried to update my GPU driver, as this was required to run a particular program (oclHashcat, if you're interested). I downloaded the installer from here, and ran it. It appeared to run fine, but after the required restart, the screen resolution was set to 800x600, instead of the usual 1366x768. I then recieved an error message saying something along the lines of "Your AMD driver could not be installed as you do not have the required hardware". In Device Manager the GPU had something like "windows has stopped usinig this device as it reported an error".
    If I try to open CCC, the program runs for several minutes, with a relatively high CPU usage shown in Task Manager, and then the message " Catalyst Control Center: Host Application has stopped working".
    I have now tried various different methods of fixing this problem, none of which have worked. Attempting to download a driver from the AMD website didn't work, as the website said the driver was not appropriate for a computer with switchable graphics.
    My laptop does not appear to be using the AMD GPU, as trying to run any games as a test causes them to run slowly and with minimal resolution.
    My laptop has dual (switchable, from CCC) graphics:
    -An AMD Radeon HD 7690M XT card, with a driver version 8.882.2.3000, and date 30/09/2011.
    -And Intel HD Graphics Family, with, apparently, the same driver version and date as above. I am unable to find out exactly what kind of Intel GPU it is.
    I also tried to update the Intel graphics driver, to see if this would fix the problem at all, but it made it worse: the screen became very red, and low resolution. I fixed this by reverting to a system restore point made just before. Sadly, I did not think to do this before originally updating drivers.
    My question, then, is: how to I regain full usage of both graphics cards?
    Here is a copy-paste of my system information:

    Hi,
    There may be a 3rd party option you could try for a more updated set of gpu drivers, however I'd first suggest getting your system back to a state where the switchable graphics function correctly.
    Try the System Restore first.
    If that doesn't work, the AMD driver package ( containing both gpu drivers ) you require can be downloaded from HP on the following link.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55092.exe
    Regarding being able to find a more updated set of drivers, a lot of people with your type of switchable graphics have had success with the offerings on the following 3rd party website - I would strongly recommend reading the Manual first to get an understanding of how this works and why driver signing enforcement will need to be disabled in order to load these drivers.

  • Convert Graphical 6i Reports to 11g

    Hi,
    I have requirement to convert Graphical reports built using version Report Builder 6i to 11g.. As per the "A GUIDE TO CHANGED FUNCTIONALITY BETWEEN ORACLE REPORTS 6i AND 10g" Graphics functionality is deprecated in Oracle 10g and above...
    Can anyone please guide me with which steps i need to follow to achieve the requirement..
    Regards,
    Priyanka

    Hi Andres,
    Yes, I did that on one of the report. I converted the report into .rex file, changed all the FONTSIZE to slighthly smaller, but still quite a lot of manual intervention required.
    I think that option is certainly to be considered, but may have to write some "clever scripts" to update all the fontsizes quickly and correctly.
    I was hoping for some kind of setups that may be required and 11g would automatically correct it at runtime.
    Thanks for your advice though.

  • Interactive properties with Internet Graphics Service (IGS) graphics?

    I am looking to implement IGS graphics in a program that currently uses SAP Business Graphics.  The SAP Business Graphics would not work in our end-users enterprise portal application, so the switch to use IGS is imperative.
    We had previously implemented SAP Business Graphics function modules (e.g. GRAPH_MATRIX_3D) to display pie charts and bar graphs in a report.  These graphs provided interactive capabilities that would allow the user to select one part of the chart and drill down for more detail.
    Is it possible to provide drill-down or other interactive functionality with the IGS Graphics?

    The followiing posts have helped solve this question.
    For future reference, refer to:

    If you are able to download the SAP Chart Designer, that would be the fastest and most efficient way to customize your graphics.  Program GRAPHICS_IGS_CHART_TEST provides a good example if you cannot use the chart designer.

  • PS has given up waiting for an assessment of the graphics display driver?

    I replaced my graphics card because it was not supported and  some PS CC graphics functionality (smart sharpening, etc) wouldnot operate. I purchased and installed a new Gigabyte AMD HD7770 as per the list of supported cards. The latest drivers have been installed. (Windows 7 64bit)
    I am now getting a message "PS has given up waiting for an assessment of the graphics display driver. Enhancements that use the graphics hardware have been disabled. Check the manufacturer's website site for the latest software."
    What is happening? Why am I paying for features that I cannot access despite having gone to the expense of purchasing a new card and following the PS CC requirements to the letter?
    This is very frustrating and annoying.
    Addendum: I am now getting a message that 3D requires a minimium of 512Mb of vRAM. However, my new card is 1 GB......?????????
    Can someone provide a solution for this problem please?

    The best thing to do is to go into Help > System Info, copy and paste the contents into your reply.
    One of us or several should be able to sort it out for you.
