Graphical Indicators in Reporting

I have a question regarding graphical indicators to display "stoplight" symbols in status reporting. I first created a custom field (Status) to display the stoplight graphical indicators when a field is equal to certain inputs (ex:
Yes, No, Maybe). I then created a “Critical Tasks” report using the REPORT feature in MS Project 2010. When I add the “Status” field to the report table, the values display as either Yes, No, or Maybe rather than as their respective graphical
indicators. The fields display as graphical indicators in Gantt Chart view, but not in the report function. Is it possible to display fields as types other than text in a report?

megan112,
I just ran a test on a Project 2010 file that have three graphical indicators, red, green and yellow. I pulled up the Critical Task report and the colored indicators all appear in Print Preview.
First of all, do you have SP2 for Project 2010 installed? If not, install it. It is also a good idea to install the June 2013 cumulative update as it was released after SP2 and contains fixes for several issues.
So you are saying that your color coded indicators appear in the custom field when you select the Gantt Chart view but only as data values when you select the Critical Tasks report and view it in Print Preview. Correct? Are you sure you have same view table
selected for both the Gantt Chart view and for the Critical Tasks report?
Just for reference, Project has a built-in field called Status. Is there any chance your "status" field and the built-in Status field are getting crossed-up depending on whether you are in Gantt Chart view or Critical Tasks report? I suggest you change the
name of your custom field so there is no chance for confusion.

  • How can I run graphic object on report. ( I got REP-1246 Chart not found)

    Hi All,
I made a report that consists a chart object. When I run it on report builder, it works well. But When I call the report from client side, I got "Rep-1246 Char Document not found" . I tried to solve it , I couldn't solve the problem . If I delete chart object from report , then report works well on client side. I didn't use graphics builder to create graphs I used only report builder to do it. I read the threads about it , but I couldn't find the solution. All solutions are about path of graphic file. I don't understand it. Because I only have *.rdf *.rep file. There is no any graph file in my system. I can create it in graphic builder but I don't know how can I deploy the graph object into report layout and run ?
    I need urgent help ..
    Thanks in advice
    Suleyman

Hi again , I used developer 2000. In order to show graphic object on report firstly
I created my graphic object on oracle graph builder. After that I save it like mygraph.OGD . Then I added graphic object on report builder by using graphic object on report builder. When you click the graphic object you will see CHART FILENAME part in part of CHART. In this field , you should add graphic file path that you created on graphic builder. I added mygraph.OGD into this filename part. I worked well.
    Good LUck !

  • Project Server 2013 - Graphical Indicators - Not showing until the project is published via Project Pro 2013

    Greetings -
I have a custom field on a PDP that is used to manually flag a project for review.  Once the field is set to "Flag" a red flag should show on the Project Summary page prompting the Portfolio Manager to follow up.  The red flag only appears
after publishing the project via Project Pro 2013 not by just editing the PDP via Explorer (Save and Check in).
This occurs on both projects that were created prior to the graphical indicator being added to the PDP and new projects.
Now if instead of using the red flag graphical indicator I just used the text "FLAGGED" that would work fine.
So is this a bug?  Or is something setup incorrectly?  Or is this how PWA is supposed to handle graphical indicators on the project summary page?
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Gunnery,
I made the following test: I create 2 project ECF both inserted in the Project details PDP:
for review: flag type field with graphical indicator in case value = yes
for review_2: text type field (with a yes/no look-up table) with graphical indicator in case value = yes
Whitout going to Project Pro, I'm able to modify the 2 fields for any project (created before or after the ECFs creation) and the graphical indicators are instantaneously shown in the summary project center view (just pressing F5).
Note that the graphical indicator is not shown in the PDP, just the text value. Note also that I've not been to Project Pro neither to PWA/schedule PDP to publish the project plan.
    Then
Does that correspond to your need? Can you reproduce this example and validate wheither or not it works.

  • Scale of the graphic in interactive report doesn't work in french

    Dear all,
I created a calculation column in an interactive report an put the format 9999999D99. When I displayed the information everything is ok.
After that I tried to create a graphic with this column.
The graphic is the type line
The value is this new column
    The function is SUM
    order by label ascending
The graphic show the good information, when I click on the dot the right number is displayed (19459,10). But if I look on the scale on the left the numbers are not good, we see 25,00000 instead of 25000,00.
The application use the navigator information the first language use is french. If I use english the numbers are ok.
What I need to do to use french and have the right decimal ?
    Thanks for your help

What error did you get? Please give the original error code and message to help us diagnose the problem.
In order to run OGD, you definitely need Oracle Graphics installed on the same oracle home as reports.

  • Represent hierarchical structure in graphical structure (by reports?)

    Hi
I have a parent child relationship where I am using sys conect by path to represent the relationship. Can I display this relationship in graphical structure in Orace Reports?

Why does Java follow the hierarchical structure i.e
Object class is the root class which is extended by
    all classes by default..
Can anybody tell the reason for this. It's for technical reasons. In this way any class and class hierarchy always have a known super-superclass namely Object. This means that API's can be written assuming this class only and they will then work with objects of any class. Examples of this are the Collections and Swing.

  • Generate graphics dynamically in reports

    Hi,
does anybody know how to generate dynamically produce graphics in reports 6 or 6i version....if so where can i find the information about it.
    please help me out...
    thanks,
    kk.

    Hi, Ram,
No, that's a fundamental difference betwwen rows and columns in SQL. What rows appear in the output of a query is goverened by what data is found, but the columns all have to be hard-coded into the query.
One thing you can do is Dynamic SQL , where you run a query, and then use the output in constructing another SQL statement. The output of the preliminary query may be 365 rows, which become 365 lines defining 365 columns in the main query.
See [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3227306] for an example of doing dynamic SQL in SQL*Plus.
If you'd like help, post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements), and the results you'd like from that data.
Simplify as much as you can. For example, post an example that has 3 columns, but explain that in your real application you'll need 365.

  • Wrong graphic at HTML-report

    Hello!
In a first sequence I export a graphic to a HTML-report, which I close afterwards. In the second sequence I export an other graphic (generated by the same SubVI, so same size/looking (polar plot or XY-graph), but different data and other picture-variable at each sequence) to another HTML-report , but sometimes (not always) LabView 7express adds the graphic from the first report to the second one. The second picture-file (jpg) was not created then, but the link to the picture in the second HTML-report referes "technical correct" to the wrong (first) picture.
If I export the reports twice (without changing anything), the problem disappears in most cases.
Do you have any idea how I can solve this problem?
    Thank you!
    martin

This sounds like a type of race condition or possibly a problem with multiple pointers to the same memory location.  Without seeing some code, it will be very hard to troubleshoot.  Could you post an example that show off this problem?

    thnx

Christian is correct, but if you use an English version of DIAdem, the correct command is:
        Call GRAPHSHEETSHOW("Sheet 1")
unless you have changed the name of your sheets. If you have custom names, add the name of the sheet you are looking to edit between the " ".

  • Any Alternate to use  ORACLE GRAPHIC BUILDER   through Reports

    Hello ,
After long research some option of creating complex graphs does not serve my problem like BI GRAPHS . I want to create graph in such a way that for example I have one view in which trainno, station no, scheduled time and departure time are stored. I want to display a line graph for same train schedul and depart wise. Now I try to create line graph in oracle 10g, there only one single line is displayed for two groups scheduled time and departure time and that also not sorting properly.
In previous of oracle , Graphic builder had good option of creating field templates like line and attaching to line chart. So it there are two groups (Sched and departure time) , than line with different colour use to display separately for both. Now I don't find any way in oracle 10g to plot such type of Graph.
If anybody has option or way than please give suggestion.
    Regards,
    Prashant

I am not an expert on chart builder, so I don't know how you would access the model and get at the image files.
However, if you have a URL that points to an image generated by the chart builder, you can use the <image> element to display it.
It sounds like to produce these image files, you need to write some application logic. The correct place to put this application logic is probably in a subclass of a struts DataAction.

  • Improving graphics performance in DIAdem 11.0 Report?

    Dear Forum,
when working on a Report layout, the poor graphic performance of DIAdem is a real problem for me.
For example, many diagrams with lots of data are on one page. One opens the proficiencies of one of the diagrams and changes e.g. the curves color or whatever and closes the dialog window. After this, the whole Report page is refreshed - wich takes up to one minute, depending on the amount of data displayed.
The strange thing is, when I close the given dialog window, and while the report page is being refreshed sent DIAdem to the taskbar and open any other application window, the process of refreshing the screen takes only 1 second instead of 30 seconds.
The question is: Is there a tweak to improve the speed how DIAdem refreshes the report page? Or is there any workaround other than switching applications during refreshing?
    Thanks a lot.
    Greetings from Germany
    Oliver

    Hello Oliver,
The easiest way to speed up the graphics performance in Report with large data files (or 3D graphs with lots of nodes) is to turn off the "Data Layer" (German: "Datenebene") in the "View" menu (German: "Ansicht").
That function basically turns off the display of all data in Report, but retains the axis systems, texts, etc., so you can still move them, place them and edit them without having to guess sizes. Once you're done with the report, simply turn the data layer back on and you're ready to create a PDF, print or save the result as an image file (JPG, BMB, etc.).
I think the performance difference you described (1 vs. 30 seconds) is due to the fact that once DIAdem has drawn a page, it retains an image in memory and will simply draw that image when you bring DIAdem to the foreground (or maximize it). After any edits you make to the report (e.g. change the color of a graph), DIAdem redraws the complete page from scratch, which takes much longer then just re-displaying an image that has already been drawn previously. Someone from the DIAdem R&D team could probably do a better job explaining this, but I think this is the explanation for the time difference in drawing.
Anyway, the "Data Layer" trick should hopefully solve your problem, let us know if that works for you.

  • Ssrs 2008 r2 or ssrs 2012 place moving graphics in report while it is executing

In a new ssrs 2008 r2 or ssrs 2012 report application, I want to add some graphics to
the report(s). I know that you can embedded a graphic in the ssrs report. However I would like to be able to do one or more of the items I am listing below:
    1. In one or two spots, I would like to have the pictures change. The picture would display for 5 to 60 seconds and then a new graphic would show up.
    2.  I would like the possibility of one graphic being displayed while the entire ssrs report is executing. The next time the report is executing, a new graphic would be displayed.
    3. I would like a 'slideshow' of graphics being displayed. The slideshow would be dsiplayed in in the same sequence.
    4. I would like to obtain the graphics from an open show (free) location for a non profit public school system.
Thus can you tell me if any of the options I listed above are possibly? If so, can  you tell me what option I can embed in a report and how to accomplish the goal in the ssrs report?
Also if you have any other ideas about graphics in the report, can you tell me what thse option(s) are and how would I accomplish this goal?

    Hi wendy,
In Reporting Services, if we want to only display one graphic in some time, and display other graphics in other times in a report. So that the all graphics are alternatively displayed in the report. In this scenario, we can set the AutoRefresh property of
the report to x number of seconds for the changes to occur, then set the visibility property of graphics based on AutoRefresh length we have set. For more details, please see the steps below:
Set the AutoRefresh property of the report to 15 seconds (supposing there are 4 graphics in the report (60/4=15)).
Insert all graphics in the report.
Use the following expressions to control the visibility of graphics.
Graphic 1:=IIf(Second(Now()) < 15, False, True) the first graphic will show if the AutoRefresh occurred during the first 15 second block of the current minute, all other times during that minute it will be hidden.
Graphic 2:=IIf(Second(Now()) >= 15 AND Second(Now()) < 30, False, True) the second graphic will show if the AutoRefresh occurred during the second 15 second block of the current minute, all other times during that minute it will
    be hidden.
Graphic 3:=IIf(Second(Now()) >= 30 AND Second(Now()) < 45, False, True) the third graphic will will show if the AutoRefresh occurred during the third 15 second block of the current minute, all other times during that minute it will
    be hidden.
Graphic 4:=IIf(Second(Now()) >= 45, False, True) the fourth graphic will show if the AutoRefresh occurred during the fourth 15 second block of the current minute, all other times during that minute it will be hidden.
Besides, we cannot display the image with dynamic form by using External Image Option, it will be replaced with static form. So if we want to show slideshow in the report, we can also refer to the following thread:

    Hope this helps.

  • How pass parameter from Form to Graphics through Report?

I wrote a Report called by a Form and pass a parameter from the
Form to the Report, successfully! But I imported a Graphic in
the Report, and the Graphic could not get the parameter...(the
parameter in the Report and Graphic should both pass from the
    Form).
    I call the Report by " Run_Product( REPORTS, :V_PRTNAME,
SYNCHRONOUS, RUNTIME, FILESYSTEM, pl_id,NULL); " in the Form.
and I imported the image from file for the Graphic in the Report.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Calling 6i reports containg oracle graphics in ias 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi,
i'm having troubles calling a report containing an oracle graphics chart.
i'm using ias 10.1.2.0.2 and the corresponding forms tools. and the ias 1.0.2.2.2a isuite server.
Compiling and running the forms is not a problem and neither is caling ordinary reports. i.e reports not containing any oracle graphics. So i'm confident that my server setup is correct.
When i'm calling reports containing oracle graphics charts the reports simply hangs.
Consulting the ias server reports queue i can see that status is 'running the report, now executing pre-form trigger' and that's it. status never changes and the report never finishes.
In my ias 101202 home i've set the following environment variables:
ORACLE_GRAPHICS6I_HOME -> E:\oracle\806 which is where my oracle graphics is installed
GRAPHICS60_PATH -> e:\mastra\rep which is where i store my reports and oracle graphics charts
I keep both the .rdf file and the compiled .rep in the e:\mastra\rep directory.
Strange thing is that if i don't include the full path to the oracle graphics component in the report it's not able to find it at runtime. I can see in the reports status screen it complains about not being able to fond the chart.
what parameter should i set so i don't have to hard code the path to the graphics chart?
If i include the full path to the chart it probably finds it because it doesn't complain but now it hangs telling me that it's running the preform trigger. and then nothing happens.
please help me cause im stuck here.
    thanks for any input.

    Hi Frank,
Our reports are all called from Forms...using RUN_REPORT_OBJECT in the 10g environment. We have hundreds of reports (6i based) that all work fine when run on the 10g app server. The only ones that fail to complete are those that have Graphics embedded. Yet they work just fine when run Client/Server under 6i. On the 10g app server they just run forever/get hung.
If I launch Graphic 6i Builder on the 10g App Server box, I can connect to the database without any problems. And Graphics 6i do run just fine from my 10g forms (converted from 6i Forms) on the App Server. NOTE: My Graphics 6i uses the same tnsmanes.ora and sqlnet.ora that my App Server uses (via a TNS_ADMIN setting in the Windows registry)
Is there something extra special I need to do in the report itself?
    Thanks,
    John
