Graphics issues since latest 10.8.2 update

Last Friday, I applied the latest update to 10.8 (10.8.2?). Since then I have noticed a couple of issues, both of which appear to be graphics related. FWIW, my hardware is an early 2011, 15-inch MBP with discrete graphics (Radeon 6750M).
1. In one instance, I attached an external display to the Thunderbolt port (DVI adapter). The system switched to discrete graphics, and my onboard display suddenly had a very slight blue shade. The external display displayed color properly, only the onboard was affected. Unplugging the external display (and switching back to integrated graphics) fixed the onboard colors. Re-plugging the external yielded the same result. After a reboot, the issue has not re-occurred (~24hrs). Some searching of Google indicates that this is not an isolated issue. Is there a known cause (and solution), to prevent further interruptions?
2. In a number of occurances, I have seen the Terminal application become exremely slow to respond, as in 10+ second keypress responses. The entire application appears affected, including opening new terminal tabs and the cursor switching from I-beam to pointer (as I move it from the terminal space to the tab bar). After some amount of time (several minutes?), terminal function returns to normal. The system.log file shows the following message repeated during the event.

    Set the NSUserDefault NSConstraintBasedLayoutVisualizeMutuallyExclusiveConstraints to YES to have -[NSWindow visualizeConstraints:] automatically called when this happens. And/or, break on objc_exception_throw to catch this in the debugger.

(1) is probably a colour profile bug. When you next see the issue, go to System Preferences > Displays > Colour, and confirm that the correct colour profile is selected for the affected monitor. If it is, then deselect it by choosing another one, then reselect it. If your display regains its expected colour you can assume it's a colour profile bug. In my experience colour profiles are prone to this kind of behaviour, though Apple has made things more stable in the last year or so.

Theme graphical issues since latest update - Gnome 3

Just did a total -Syyu update, so I don't know exactly what caused this, but my Gnome3 theme is now really odd. Text is difficult to read, top banner is changed. Not sure if this was intended or not but it's really ugly and I suspect an issue.

Graphics issues with latest updates on mbp mid 2010

ive been experiencing graphics issues recently while playing games on steam (team fortress 2, Counter strike source, the lot). i notice its affecting starcraft 2 as well. they used to run perfectly fine a few days ago. and im pretty sure i haven't dropped it or anything between then and now. ive noticed that some people with mbp early 2011 models are experiencing the same problems. anyone got any info on this or experiencing the same problems?

10.8 Mountain Lion is not the same as previous software.
Contact the folks who sold you that adapter and see if there are any software updates for it.

TS1398 wi-fi issues since latest iOs update

Since I updated my iPhone 5 to the latest iOS version 6.1.4 (10B350), I have experienced several ongoing issues with Wi-Fi connectivity.
Is anyone else experiencing issues?
For example,
I can no longer get a stable wireless connection from my bedroom or bathroom in my flat, whereas I previously had full strength and access to the internet. I have checked with my ISP and there are no issues with broadband in my (small!) flat and my wireless router is working perfectly.
The wireless connection drops occasionally, both in my flat when I am connected and also when I am out and about.
This change immediately happened once I updated my iOS to the new version 6.1.4 (10B350).
Any thoughts?

Restore iPhone with iTunes on computer, Restore is different than Update. If the problem persists after the Restore, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send iPhone to Apple for resolution under Warranty.

Youtube streaming issues since latest update

Hi all,
Since the most recent YouTube app update on my iPad Mini i'm having issues streaming to my apple tv (gen2)
When the ipad auto locks youtube vids stop playing, i can get around this by turning off auto lock but this never used to occur.
Using my iphone 5 and the issue does not replicate.
Additionally when loading videos with ads I generally have to load the ad (skip or let it play, but then the video doesn't load, i'll click another video then click back on the original to get it to play.
Anyone else having these issues?
Did the standard reboot apple tv etc, I think this is Ipad related as mention since Iphone 5 is working without issues.

Email issues since latest update

Hi All,
I did the update last week and ever since I am getting tons of old emails downloaded only on Frontier.com (the old Verizon.net.....)
Right now I have 81 emails that downloaded in the last 3 minutes........is anyone else having this issue and if so have you found a cure????
Another thing is that my gmail accounts (one for work one personal) do not load up properly....I have to "push" them from time to time but when I leave my house and I go on the 3 or 4G network they start popping up right away...
Lastly....Zynga Poker.....I can not play it on my wireless at home anymore.....nor can I play it over my computer at home....once I go to a local establishment it pops right up and I am fine.....any ideas??

You could restore from a backup, but from what I have read, this security update is for a major vulnerability, so I would recommend trying to get Mail straightened out.

Strange Typing issue since latest OS X update

I cannot type in any finder window since updating to 10.5.7
I can copy and paste, but I can't type. I can type on the desktop and in spotlight, but once I open the spotlight window (view all results) or open a finder window, the keyboard keys stop functioning.
Is anyone else experiencing this? What could be causing this. I've tried a wired white Pro Apple Keyboard (I use the wireless white Pro Apple Keyboard) but it didn't fix the issue either.

AirPort WiFi on 2010 MBA won't stay connected to 5Ghz band since latest 10.6.7 update.

I updated my 2010 MBA 11" to the latest/greatest of everything in prep for Lion. So, I now have 10.6.7 of course. But ever since the updates, I noticed that my wifi on the MBA won't stay connected to the 5 Ghz band of my router. It'll connect fine to the 2.4 Ghz channel, so its not a big deal, but this is my first weird issue with the Mac (I converted in January), so of course it bugs me.
Anybody else having the same issue? Since Lion is around the corner, I can get by using the 2.4 band and hope its not an issue in Lion. But part of me wants to try to use my TIme Machine backup right before I updated to see if it is truly related to the updates.

Can not update folio's since latest Folio Builder panel update

I want to add articles to my folio, but since the latest update after uploading one page (say vertical) the Folio Builder keeps spinning (see image) and if I log on to the website it syas articles are corrupt.
Now I need this folio to be updated before tomoroow and I'm stuck here?

It looks like we are experiencing the same problem. (See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/924524?tstart=0) The common thread seems to be uploading pages as PDFs -- the publication I was working on was also set up that way.

Mail problems since latest OSX mountain lion update

Since I updated to the latest version of OSX Mountain Lion my Macbook Pro is very slow starting (up to 2 minutes) and my mail program is always stucking (colour-ball turning) so that I have to shut down and restart.
Does anybody have a solution for these problems?

So it's a new 2012 non-Retina model... there are a couple of things that you might want to try - even with only 4GB of RAM (and I truly feel that 8GB is the 'sweet spot' for any modern MBP) you should be having slow startup or Mail beachballs.
First, let's boot into Recovery mode by holding down the Command and R keys during startup. At the bottom of the window, you'll want to open Disk Utility. Select your hard drive from the left pane and verify and then repair permissions. Some won't be 'fixed' but that's OK. Then with the hard drive still selected, verify your hard drive. If any errors pop up, go ahead and repair the hard drive.
If neither of these things fix the problem, you might want to redownload and reinstall 10.8.2, using the 'combo' updater found here. Also make certain that you install (or reinstall) the 10.8.2 supplemental update - here.
And if that doesn't work, we'll just have to dig a little deeper.

Having problems since latest 10.5.7 update: com.apple.doc "Bus error"

Since this morning, after installing the latest Mac OS updates, my Mac has been really slow, and the dock never appears. My console messages keep printing the following message:

Since the problem is with the OS and not just the user account -
I'd download the Apple Combo Update from here:
http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_7_ComboUpdate and after run it again. No change?
Then
Reinstall Mac OS using "Archive and Install" method which doesn't affect your user account: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1545 - Preserve User and Network Settings
Then, after repairing permissions
Run the combo update again.
Repair Permissions 1 last time.

Graphics Issue since upgrading to 8.1

So after my computer restarted itself and installed the 8.1 update, i have been having graphics problems.
I'm an online gamer and play mostly mmo's, it is with these that this update seems to effect the most, one in particular i cant even see as it duplicates everything into 3 colors, making game play impossible. in other games its made the graphics more pixle
where before they where smooth.
Its not just the games its effected also images on my computer are more pixle and have colors in them they never had before.
I have had this issue before but restored my computer to factory settings to remove the update, but now my computer has forced the update on me for some reason. I refuse to restore my computer again as it was a huge hassle last time and it will more then
likely do the update again on its own anyway.
If anyone has any ideas or know how to fix this please let me know, as this is really frustrating and would love to be able to get back to my gaming.

okay i managed to fix the issue with the graphics on archeage, everything no longer appears multiplied in different colors.
but i am still having the pixle issue.
But now i have also discovered a new problem and thought it wouldn't hurt to post it here also.
My mouse has become supper sensitive when playing my games, one little touch when trying to rotate the screen sends it into a frenzy and i end up looking at the sky or my characters feet. i didn't notice this before as i didn't even attempt to move with
the multiple color images everywhere. Also when holding down my screen rotation button it continues to rotate in that direction even though i am no longer moving the mouse that way.
I did notice that there was a patch for mouse issues so i tried to install it but it said i didn't have the requirements for it, so i assume it was included with the 8.1 update.
I have tried adjusting the settings in the games for mouse sensitivity, and it does not effect it, i even tried to adjust the computers but could not find the setting for what i was after. The mouse rotation button is holding the left or right mouse button
down and moving the cursor in the direction you want it to move. i couldn't see anything there that can help with that as the cursor speed is fine, its only happens when i try to rotate the screen.
Any help on this and my pixle issue would be greatly appreciated!

Syncing Issues since latest upgrade

Everything has been working great with my iPhone 3G until upgrading to the latest iTunes program. Since then I am unable to sync my calendar or contacts between my PC and iPhone. I have Outlook and it synced just fine yesterday before upgrading. After the iPhone backs-up and right before it is to sync I get a message that says the "SyncServer has stopped working". Another message then pops up and iTunes tells me it can't sync unless syncing is turned on and it tries to turn it on, but to no avail.
I'm at a loss at what further to do. I've read many of the recommended actions/fixes and have had no luck.
Any advice and help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Wheeeeeeeee success after a week! I followed these instructions:
Make sure Itunes is closed.
Go to your control panel, open 'system' icon, click on 'advanced system settings' on left panel.
Click 'Environmental Variables'
A small window will pop up, with a top half and a bottom half filled with info.
On the bottom half (System Variables) scroll until you see 'PATH'. Double click that entry, and paste this at the very end of what is there.
;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
Notice the ; in front, that needs to be there so this does not screw up the rest of the info in the PATH variable. Please be careful to paste this at the very end.
Then I searched my C drive for this file - libxml2.dll. It should be in the Apple folder, if there is another one somewhere else (mine was in C/Windows, sometime it might be in C/Windows/System 32). I moved this folder to the desktop, just in case everything went pear shaped.
I am not sure if you need to do both these things, the first alone never worked but when I moved the libxml2.dll everything worked as normal when I re opened I tunes and connected my Itouch. Outlook contacts and calendars now sync both ways.

Printer issues since this morning's OS update

Go to System Preferences. Select Sharing and see if Computer Name is blank. If so, enter a name, restart and try printing again.
