Greyed out boxes

I went back all the way to page 57 of the forums looking for a satisfactory fix to this issue and haven't found one.
I checked my file permissions, they are set correctly so that I have full control over the files and folders.
The files/folders are NOT read only.
I CAN edit the info on files that were imported BEFORE the most recent version of iTunes, but I CANNOT edit the info on files (most notably video files) that are imported POST upgrade.
I tried repairing my iTunes install, I tried dragging the files into my library, I tried doing File -> Import. I converted my files with different programs. I tried the iTunes script program that someone on here recommended.
All to no avail.
Is my only solution to go back to the version of iTunes that was current before 7.6.0.29 and if so, where do I find an installer for that? I'm not worried about not having rental capability, I would much rather be able to tag my files correctly.

Not necessarily...you can scroll to the right most column that lists out the package. If it is $TMP then you need to assign the package. You can do that by right click> Assign package on this object. When you assign the package it will prompt for transport request.
To collect the InfoObjects for a cube, you need to list out the objects reqd by the cube and then Select from under the InfoObjects in the left hand pane.
When you have everything on the right-hand side, you can click on the Change Package button (if everything needs to go to the same package) and provide the package.

Why is my preview area showing only greyed out boxes instead of photos?

I am unable to import my photos so they can be seen. Whether I try to import them from the hard drive, camera card, or my desktop (following the tutorial), I do not see photographs in the preview area, only greyed out boxes instead of photos. If I imported 6 photos, I have six greyed out (photo-sized) boxes. The specific photos are there somehow, becuase they are properly named when I scroll the mouse over them, but I see only flat grey, no pictures. As I said, this happens even when I follow the tutorial and import from my desktop.

I appreciate you responding to my inquiry. We (that would be the "royal" we, which would be my husband) finally determined that the monitor was not configured properly. "We" discovered this out after uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom several times.
To answer your question, I was trying to import both photos taken in JPEG, as well as RAW, both were problematic. I could import no images. It was interesting that I could tell all of the data was coming over (when I floated the cursor over a grayed-out box I could read the data), just not the images.
I have a Nikon D5100. I purchased Lightroom 5.0 just before now(two days ago), and was trying to install and play with it. I upgraded to 5.2 as I was going into it for the first time (it is an automatic question). I knew there was obviously a problem when I couldn't see any images. Particularly when I went into the tutorials -- it just reemphasized that something was wrong. Who ever thinks of how their monitor is configured?????

Approval workflow - user sees greyed out box

Hi All,
I've implemented approval workflow on one of my lists.
User who is placed in Approvers input box receives mail, but when he tries to do the action on this workflow, box with accept/reject buttons is greyed out.
I gave mentioned user full control security - it doesn't help. Do I need any permission for approval users, or maybe it is caused by something else?

Grey out box

hi All,
I have a input box in my BSP, but user wants it to be greyed out unless someone selects an entry from a dropdown list we have in same view, can someone suggest how to do this please?

You can use the below code in your layout section to define the inputField -

Here g_selection is the value of your dropdownField selection. w_disabled is the variable which will store the value TRUE or FALSE to determine if the inputField is disabled or not.
On selection of an entry in your dropdownfiled the onInputProcessing event would be triggered after which the layout would be rendered again. This would change the value of the variable w_disabled from TRUE to FALSE.

IMAP Email Box Greyed Out

I have read other threads on numerous Apple Mail problems with iPhone V2.1 but nobody seems to have this particular problem, so here goes!
1st gen iPhone running 2.1 - just updated from 1.1.2 and wish I hadn't.
In the Mail app, I have 3 email accounts, all IMAP. 1 MobileMe account and 2 Fastmail accounts. The MobileMe and 1 of the Fastmail accounts behave perfectly. The other Fastmail account with almost the same settings other than the username and password, has a greyed-out Inbox which I cannot access. It downloads the number of emails just fine - it registers next to the Inbox how many new emails are waiting at any given time. So it must be connecting to the server. Yet I cannot access the Inbox itself UNLESS the iPhone actually opens Mail at thart particular Inbox and there indeed are all the emails. If I then leave the Inbox and try to go back to it - again, greyed out. This is driving me nuts.
I have tried:
1. Holding down the Home button to quit Mail as per advice in another thread. Doesn't help.
2. Restoring via iTunes to 2.1 again. Doesn't help.
3. Switching the rogue mail account on and off via Settings. Doesn't help.
4. Deleting the entire rogue email account via Settings and within iTunes. Then asking iTunes to "replace mail information on this iPhone". Doesn't help.
5. Deleting the rogue email account and inputting the account back into the iPhone manually. Doesn't help.
I really am at a loss now. Short of Restoring again and this time setting up my iPhone as a new phone, instead of asking it to restore all my old settings, I don't know what to do. And I don't want to do that because then I lose some very precious SMS texts that I want to keep on the iPhone.
Why would one Fastmail IMAP account work perfectly and not the other? It has exactly the same settings, port numbers etc. The only things that are different are the log in name and password.
This rogue email account was working perfectly for 24 hours under 2.1 and then suddenly the Inbox becomes greyed out for seemingly no reason.
If this was happening on my MacBook Pro I'd start troubleshooting by deleting the Mail preference files in the Library. But that isn't possible with the iPhone because I've no idea what files to look for. I may delete something important.
Has anyone any suggestions - other than throwing the iPhone out of the window or taking it back to 1.1.4 [which actually seems a better option]? Is it possible to go back to 1.1.4?

After HOURS of fiddling with this problem, I have at last got my business Fastmail working on the iPhone! It isn't perfect, as I had to fiddle around with the IMAP pathways in Apple Mail on my computer to get it to work with 2.1 on the iPhone, but it is working.
What had happened was that synchronising the Mail with the new 2.1 software on the iPhone, had actually created a new second Inbox within my Fastmail account itself! A knock-on effect in that the second Inbox created on the iPhone had synced back to Apple Mail on my computer and from there to Fastmail. So everything had become very muddled, hence the greyed-out box on the iPhone. I therefore had to go right back to the "head" of the queue - the Fastmail account on the web - delete the extra boxes the iPhone had created, set up the Fastmail account within Apple Mail on my computer all over again, reset the IMAP pathways, and then sync to the iPhone.
I have now switched off the setting that automtically syncronises the Mail box settings on 2.1 on the iPhone so that it doesn't happen again!
It just goes to show I should listen to my own advice - don't ever upgrade just for the sake of it! If something is working and it does what you want it to do, leave it alone. Should have stayed with 1.1.2 for now.

Internet Sharing won't work, greyed out... but not on! Suggestions?

I'm trying to start internet sharing on my MacBookPro (13-inch, Mid 2012).
I'm running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E2617).
Ethernet is on and connected. Wifi is on and connected to a created network (which I created to share out my internet).
Why are the options to turn it on greyed out? Any suggestions appreciated, as I'm tearing my hair out here.
Also, the box to turn on internet sharing is greyed out. (a non greyed out box appears as fully white when selected in the list.)
Any help is much appreciated.

LR4.4 - blacked out boxes when importing images from upgraded PSE10 catalogue [was: Lightroom 4]

I have been using photoshop elements 10 for over a year and decided it was time to upgrade to Lightroom for my photo workflow as I am doing more paid photography work. I purchased and received my boxed full version of Lightroom 4 from B & H photovideo on Friday. I installed it then went on-line and updated it with the download of lightroom 4.4. Then I opened lightroom 4.4 for the first time and went to files and selected upgrade my photoshope elemnts catalog to lightroom. Once that was completed I then tried to import images to lightroom 4 to work with them and all I get are blacked out or greyed out boxes in my slide strip at the bottom of the desktop window in import mode. When I point to each box it shows a file name but will not show the image. I have spent all kinds of time reading and watching tutorials on opening images, importing images and catalogs and I am FRUSTRATED.... Would really like to talk to someone to get this figured out. I never thought it would be this difficult to use this program... HELP Please...

I would like to THANK YOU for your assistance in my situation. I followed your suggestion and went into my monitor settings and did a manual reset to the default profile and went back to Lr and the images started popping up one at a time until all 7000+ were visable. Just for the record, I am using Canon 1Ds Mark II, on a Quadcor AMD unlocked FX processor running Windows 7. I shoot in RAW and convert to JPG. It would have been the last thing for me to look at on my monitor settings as all the other programs on my computer run without a glitch. Thanks again for your help... Cheers!

Text box Vertical Justification greyed out in CS4

Does anyone know why the ability to vertically justify my text boxes is disabled? It is only in this one document (although, I think I remember this occurring in another). The option is greyed out in the Text Frame Options window and will not allow me to click on the options in the tool bar. This is rather frustrating and can't for the life of me figure out how to fix it. Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it?

Prior to CS5 you can't vertically justify any frame in which the text area is not rectangular. Not only can text wrap change the shape of a text area, but so can corner effects (adding enough inset will get past this), and of course the use of non-rectangular frames.
Thanks, Peter. I had already adjusted the top inset enough to achieve the look I was looking for. That's good to know about the corner effects. That is actually when I experienced this before and used insets to achieve my desired look then, too.
Peter's pointing out that you could inadvertently move just one of the corners with the direct selection tool and have a frame that isn't a rectangle and then you loose the text box vertical justification option. If you are on OSX you can use this script to square up a selected skewed box:
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
set {a, b, c, d} to geometric bounds of selection
set entire path of path 1 of selection to {{b, a}, {d, a}, {d, c}, {b, c}}
end tell

Want to scan multiple photos on HP c309 series as individual files; the box to allow is greyed out.

I'm using an HP Photosmart C309A All in one. I use Windows 7. I have multiple photos to scan and want them to scan as individual files. I did that previously several months ago with no problem. The box which should allow me to do so is not available to check. It is grayed out.
Anything to try would be appreciated.

I noticed that you want to scan multiple photos on your HP Photosmart c309 as individual files, but the box to allow it is greyed out. I am happy to help!
This sounds as if there is a driver/software issue with your printer software. I would recommend the following:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Re-install using the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Can you grey out/lock a certain part of a form you created after a check box has been selected?

In Acrobat Pro 9 can I set up the form that I created to allow customers to select a check box and after they have selected the check box, the form will grey out/lock all of the information that they don't need to fill out and keep the rest of the information that needs to be filled out open?

Greyed out Volume Format box in Disk Utility 10.4.

i'm trying to open up more space on my hard drive by doing a full erase. Available space is about 6GB on a 80GB drive. Running OS X 10.4.11. on a Mac Book Black. Want to install 10.6. SL.
In Disk Utility the Volume Format box is greyed out. It's set as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
How can i change it?

Greyed-out Files in the Open File Dialog Box

I recently installed Logic Express 8 and then attempted to open a Garageband project. I used 'File Open' from the menu. When I click on my Garageband folder the dialog box shows all the .band files as greyed-out. This is also happening with older version of Logic Express such as the Tutorial song file.
Anyone with a idea or seen this before?

It seems to be a rather glaring bug in LE8 that will hopefully be fixed in the next update. In the meantime you can open LE8 files by going to File/Open Recent after launching. From there, other files can be opened by clicking on the Media button on the top right and then the Browser tab. Find your file & double click to open it. Also, you can just double-click a file on your desktop to launch Logic.
GarageBand files can be opened by right-clicking and selecting "open with LE8."

Trying to email database backup notification, boxes are greyed out

Hi all,
I am running OEM Grid Control version 10.2.0.3.0. I have properly setup an SMTP server, with all of the notification rules, and it all works fine, as far as notifying me when a database is down, tablespace gets full, etc...
However, for some reason, I can't get it to send an email notifcation from a db backup job. I have an existing job, that does a full backup of a 9.2 database, and it all works fine. But now when I go in and edit the job, then click on the Access tab, at the bottom I see the "Email notification for owner" section, and I see the 5 boxes that could be checked, Scheduled, Running, Suspended, Completed, Problems. But all of the checkboxes are greyed out - I can't check any of them. Does anyone know why this might be? I thought it might be because this is backing up a 9i database, but then I went and checked for my backup jobs against 10g databases, and I see the same issue. I am the owner of all of these jobs, and I am a "Super Administrator", so I don't know what else to check...
Any thoughts?

Just wanted to update this issue, in case anyone was interested. I ended up logging an SR with Oracle, and got a reply back that this is a known issue, here's what they said:
This is a known issue. I assume here you've gone into the database pages and scheduled a b
ackup job from there, then when you look in the jobs tab you cannot edit the not
ifications for the job. You cannot edit the notifications for this type of job.
Here is what you can do:
1. Go to your Database --> Maintenance --> Schedule Backup
2. Work through the backup wizard until the review page.
3. Copy the RMAN script from this page.
4. Click on the Jobs tab --> Create Job "RMAN Script" --> Go
5. Paste the copied script from 3. under the parameters tab.
6. Go to the Access tab and you will now be able to set E-Mail Notification for Owner
