Gross Mismanagement of issue & waste of time

I'm absolutely confounded as to how to get anything done with verizon as all the customer reps I spoke with (6) all said conflicting things. Very frustrated with how verizon does business.
-received notice of elligibility or early upgrade
-went to store - Rep said I was only elligible for Edge contract upgrade
-went home to online chat - Rep said I was only elligible for Edge, after reading him the promo said I was elligible for 2yr
-Online Chat rep said he could get me the HTC one, whch was $50 for free using a code
-Go through everything and the price never gets down to $0
-Call Customer Service- Rep says i'm not elligible for an upgrade, only Edge. Then says I can only do it in stores, where i was told I couldnt. Finally she says I am available to do it online. sets me up with a call back from a supevisor
-Online Chat Rep cant figure out how to get it down to the price he quoted
-I enter my email into the box to get sent a transcript of the chat. Transcript does NOT get sent to my email box
-buy the phone at the elevated price
-Supevisor calls next day, says there is nothing he can do, and I can't prove the rep quoted the price. Verizons faulty transcript sended screwed me out of money and NONE of the reps know anything about the promos they are running.
I've now spoken to over a half dozen different representatives of Verizon, in a multitude of levels, all for them to be able to accomplish nothing. It's like some sick twisted joke. Because they don't know what they're doing I can't get accomplished what I need to. Because their transcript sending program doesnt work i can't prove they dont know what theyre doing...

I would say if the poster was offered an early upgrade, then the email should have clearly stated the EDGE program.
Being an intelligent man my first reaction would be to print out the official email from verizon wireless, go to my local corporate store and inquire what the upgrade offered actually is. If the email simply said "early upgrade" then the poster should get just an early upgrade. There are several state and federal laws that forbid such misleading communications in which the offer must be written out exactly what the upgrade is.
I would not trust customer service personnel to give a consecutive answer of Edge, Edge, 2 year?, reduced price on device.
That same kid working to make a buck two eighty five does not care what info is given.
The customer service at verizon wireless is near or at bottom. Just read the lip service provided at this forum.
Instead customers like yourself and others have to give support. And I know our answers are more correct than the ones they give in person, on line, social media and on the telephone.

  • Serious battery issues, apple support waste of time and money!

    My Mac Book Pro 17" has a serious battery issue it holds a charge for a hour or less, and does not always charge. Telephone apple support and all they say is take it to one of there shops to get it tested that will cost me about £40 in train fare and take a day at least. Ive had the Mac since September 2011 i never started using it until late December 2011. A 3 year warranty for what!!!!! And it overheats.....  Apple good bye your becoming worse the Microsoft your just making money out of constant yearly updates/releases of your products, Updates which becoming boring!

    The thing is you pay for a warranty and unless you live close to a Authrorised test centre etc, then it cost you more in time and money for travel!
    I'm really not clear on what you're asking Apple to do.  You don't have to go to an Apple store, you can go to any Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP).  Your warranty is still completely valid.  You can find them here:

    The title of your thread says Apple support is a waste of time and money.  What would have preferred that they do?  If you are too far from an Apple store or AASP, you can let them know that and they will usually send you out a box so you can ship your machine back to them so they can check it out.  Of course you'll be completely without your machine during that time. 
    You're comment contains quite a bit of bashing for something which Apple will clearly resolve.  Unfortunately, if you live in a remote area where there are no Apple stores or AASPs and you dont' want to send it in, there isn't anything anyone can do to help you. 

  • ITunes Match; a waste of time for mobile devices and the impatient

    I recently subscribed to itunes match, aside from being able to upgrade a portion of my lower bitrate files, I am extremely dissapointed (as are many others I've read about having the same issues.) 
    First, getting all of my music on the server was a nightmare.  I spent way more time then I'd like to admit tricking iTunes into accepting my data.  Quite a bit of my library is in fact available for purchase in the itunes store, but only portions of most of the albums actually matched - the remaining portions had to upload. Fine, I'm okay with that aside from not being able to upgrade albums in their entirety, now I have some tracks at 256, others in the same album at 128 or whatever - I decided to selectively chose alums/tracks that I really cared about or didn't feel like re importing from disc in a few cases.  Fine.. annoying, but not a total deal breaker.
    I was finally able to figure out how (without apples help btw.. they didn't know this procedure when I spent an hour or so on the chat, screen sharing with a "specialisdt")  to trick itunes into uploadeing all "waiting" tracks by doing the AAC conversion myself manually and then replacing the compressed data locally with apple lossless files (both m4a files) while retainging the compressed data on the cloud.  fine.. I enjoy trouble shooting and problem solving, I was actually psyched to figure it out and be able to retain my high quality files locally without having doubles or redundant data in an archive elsewhere not within the iTunes data base.  Fine. apple lossless is no wav, aiff, but I can compramise also in order to imbed meta data which wav is not able to do.
    What I want is access to my entire library and to be able to either stream songs over wifi or 4g and/or download locally for when I'm off network in the boonies, etc.  *side note: don't anyone tell me this isn't a streaming service and that it only downloads to the device because it in fact does... it's just intollerably slow more often than not.  Now I can deal with that, that is either my cellular provider throttling me, or it's Apple's servers.  I will assume a bit of both.  also, don't tell me that matched content downloads faster then uploaded content.. that's BS, I've run the tests on multiple devices and there is no consitacy to it.. it all depends on the traffic on iCloud servers, wireless towers and size of the file/leanght of track, etc.  Fine.
    I've run the speed test, I've rebooted divices.  I've reset/confirmed/adjusted network setting.. I've done most of what I could do on my end as a user.  I can't seemlessly stream data on my unlimmited data plan from at&t from apple.. fine.. I get it.. regarless of my slow streaming issues - it's a first world problem.. whatever, I can deal. 
    My biggest gripe is that when I download either matched songs or uploaded content, it's is painfully slow to do so.. it's a waste of time.. manging the library on mobile devices takes forward thought and plenty of patience.. I might as well do this at home tethered to my desktop - convert to 128 to save space and accept my choices and deal with what I have loacally for the time when I'm out and about.   Now whren I buy something from apple over the 4g network or even the edge network,... &*^% downloads lickity split.. *** apple .. fine, it's big business.. I get it.. I for one would have paid 100 bucks a year if this service worked as advertised.. maybe more.,.. it's awesome in  theory, but is not realy for the limelight even still 2 years after the release.. hopefully it'll get better soon...
    Now this works great in my home over laptop, apple tv, but over ipad and iphone.. not so much.. actually working fine right now as long as I don't change the track abruptly... figures after this long rant.... once I continue on my day I'm sure it'll go back to being a pain.
    I'm going to use it at home, maybe on the run very ocasionally.. I guess that's what Apple thought we'd want, but they have been so misleading with this, and so abscent with trouble shooting an technical support that I've given up.. if I wasn't so in love with thier UI's and hardware (for the most part) I'd walk in time since steve jobs is now gone.
    unless you want to wrestle with it for hours and hours, or just want to upgrade your low quality files and bounce.. don't waste your time people.. ^$^$ all that noise

    Firstly, this is a user-to-user forum: you're not talking to Apple here.
    Just saying it 'doesn't work' doesn't make it possible to offer any cogent suggestion - one would need a lot more detail on what you've tried and what the result have been - including your operating system details. However if the thing is actually faulty - this is rare, it works fine for most people, but it can happen - then plainly you need to contact the people you bought it from, or take it into an Apple Store if you can, and ask for a replacement or repair.

  • Premier Pro CC 2014 crashing, wasting enormous time, not able to load files into previous rev - this is crazy!!!

    SOMEONE AT ADOBE PLEASE HELP!!!
    I have had no problems editing Red Epic 4K R3D files in the past revisions of Premier CC but ever since creative cloud updated me to the latest Premier CC 2014 (8.0.1) I cant get any serious work done as my system is crashing on startup, or after a few minutes of work, freezing on playback at times, giving me artifacts at times and is just a miserable and frustrating experience I can get NOTHING done with!!!
    How could Adobe release a piece of so called professional software like this with these now obvious MAJOR issues so many of us are experiencing, wasting massive time and money for all of its users and how can I get this running properly and stable as our livelihoods depend on this software to work and thats what we pay Adobe for ???

    If Adobe would have thought before changing the file compatibility with the new Premier Pro CC 2014 where you cant load a file updated to this new version back into Premier Pro CC previous revision or included some kind of import / export to and from previous versions I think we would all at least be operational again right now until Adobe can fix its errors in this new revision but they obviously didn't care to think about compatibility, safeguards for users and just adding more new features with a new file format in a buggy piece of software?
    I have wasted days now on trying to solve these problems following other users in this forums suggestions including the following listed below:
    • Reinstalled my OS downgrading to 10.9.3 originally thinking it was something OS related since I updated to 10.9.4 around the same time this all started happening
    • Uninstalled / reinstalled Premier Pro CC 2014
    • I have updated my permissions to read/write on my main user account on the Adobe Library files
    • I have updated my permission to read/write on my main user account on my overall drive
    • I have reverted my CUDA drivers back one revision as these were recently updated as well
    I AM TIRED AND FRUSTRATED WITH ALL OF THIS NONSENSE WHEN I JUST NEED TO EDIT SO CAN SOMEONE AT ADOBE PLEASE SHED SOME LIGHT ON ALL OF THIS AND GET ME BACK TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN USE THE SOFTWARE I PAY FOR AND NEED TO BE ABLE TO WORK WITH TO KEEP MY BUSINESS OPERATING AND COMPLETE THE WORK MY CLIENTS ARE WAITING FOR ???
    Originally I was very impressed with Adobe CC and Premier CC once I started to work with it after many years of abandoning the use of Premier as a Final Cut Pro 7 user but later decided to try Adobe again when Apple abandoned its pro base with the original Final Cut X. I also did not think this new cloud software model was all that bad over the old boxed method. This was all also before the big Final Cut Pro X update in December 2013/early 2014 where Apple appears to be back to support the real Pros but I have stuck with Adobe CC and Premier CC and been happy since that time. Now I am wondering if this was wise as I have had a number of other issues with other CC Apps, updates, etc and this is starting to feel like Creative Cloud is becoming a big, sloppy, buggy mess to me?

    Add to right click menu of timelines an entry for "go to next keyframe" and "go to last keyframe" a la After Effects, we should also be able to assign a kb shortcut to this.
    There are buttons on either side of the create keyframe button to advance forward or backward in the effects control panel or timeline.
    You can also advance forward or backward in the effects control window by holding shift while dragging the playhead.
    Allow copy/paste of selection of audio/video effects, not just one at a time. Sure we can copy/paste attributes but since we can also copy/paste effects it would only make sense to allow to copy/paste a selection of effects.
    I guess I don't get this one. If I have 5 effects on a clip, I can simply command-click on the ones I want to copy over to the other clip.

    Unfortunately the christmas yule tides have started poorly for me as I have just been introduced to the MSI 865 PE Neo2 motherboard.

    Firstly let me say that I purchased this board as an upgrade for an administrators machine purely by an order form. We currently have over 30 MSI 6368 and 30 MSI 6714 boards which have not skipped a beat, so I thought purchasing an MSI board for a high end user would be an easy choice.
    After sitting through memory crashes during installs, random blue screens, resets and LAN problems I've simply given up on this absolutely loathsome board.
    I thought I was purchasing quality seeing as how this was 'not' a budget board, but it seems that MSI expect EVERY user who's looking to buy their product to firstly scour the internet for compatability and hardware issues which may, or may not affect them. This is a joke. Most simple problems on computers can and are fixed by changing one or two settings, or altering the setup of the machine slightly. But having to guess what sort of settings your hardware 'may' like in order to run, or trying to randommly pick a voltage which 'might' give you 20 minutes of stable computer usage is just appauling. If I wanted 'out of the box' compatability issues I would have bought a compaq or HP server .. at least they're up front in saying 'put in something non-propietry and your gonna pay'.
    I don't have time to tweak and poke around with machines at work (hey I do at home but thats another story), and dare I say that there are MANY other users out there who don't have the inclination to do that either. To that extent however I take my hat off to all the people on this forum who HAVE bothered to spend the time, your doing a VERY good job.
    What I was after was something to provide good performance and could be set up and optimised efficiently. Heck if it had worked well I'm sure I would have purchased a damn site more of them for my workplace, but as it stands I've wasted my time and my companies time messing around with issues which myself as well as many other users should never have been introduced to.
    This is simply POOR ..
    If I'd purchased a cheaper board the machine would be installed and working by now, but instead I paid more money and received less quality. No wonder the computer industry is going backwards.

    Same as Danny, my 865PE Neo2 is not only stable in normal conditions, but also just as perfect when it's being o/c'ed. If you look into ASUS/Abit/Gigabyte etc forums, you'll see that they have their own share of problems too. I hope you understand well.
    Likewise Danny have mentioned also, please kindly post the specs of the system that you are encountering problem with.
    P.S: Though I've to admit that it's troublesome to surf the net and understand the board well, but I'm sure that many things needs researching to get to a decision made. At least MSI has taken measures by testing the boards with the different types of RAMs and show which are the compatible ones.

For fun, you could play spot the offer of a promise, and then try to find where this has been upheld by o2. (to save you wasting your time looking, I'll tell you now, there are none) Thought the matter had been resolved, it looks good, but looks can be deceiving……….o2: I've arranged the credit amount for you.o2: I've forwarded your details to our Support team and filled the Consumer credit request form for you nowo2: And I'm waiving off the amount of cancellation fee £104 for you now.o2: Please be with me while I do this for you now.Me: ??? that is great.     Couldn't have put it better myself.  I have a 24 month contract with O2, £37 a month for the iPhone 4s. My iPhone 4s was faulty, Apple advised me it was a common hardware problem they were aware of and that I should contact O2. The first advisor I spoke to was very helpful. Agreed to swap my phone for a reconditioned 4s free of charge. I asked if I could pay extra for the iPhone 5 and he agreed to sell me a reconditioned handset for £75 and a doorstep swap for my old phone. At first I thought this was fantastic and said yes. Later on, my partner reminded me that I'm paying £900 for a 2 year contract, and for a phone that is supposed to remain fit for purpose for that period (as per the Sales of Goods Act). I started to think they should have provided me with a brand new phone as the fault was not due to me, but due to a common hardware issue. I became even more annoyed when I realised £75 for a second hand phone on top of what I'm paying in my contract was crazy. I contact O2 and explained this matter at length. No joy. Now - that problem might be a matter of opinion, but what happened next was disasterous. The following day I met with the delivery driver, who handed me a grubby iPhone 5 - no case, no box, not so much as a plastic bag. It was covered in some kind of white dust/powder and dirty with fingerprints. The more I looked at the phone the more I felt I'd been dooped. When I went to charge the phone, I realised my old iphone 4s charger didn't fit. I had no idea I needed a new charger and nobody advised me. When I went to insert my sim card, I realised that wasn't going to fit either. No one had advised me. I didn't even get the fork to open the sim card slide. So there I was, stuck without a phone. I opened the live chat. After explaining myself at length, I got a series of "Please hold while I do my best to try to sort this problem for you now" and loads of other cheesey meaningless lines. By this stage I was furious. When the person came back to talk to me, he advised I borrow a friend's charger to use my phone. I explained there was no one and I needed to use my phone that night. I also explained about the sim card, and the dirty phone and lack of box etc. They kept fobbing me off and telling me they would send me a charger, totally ignoring the fact this transaction was unacceptable. I got nowhere, so I hung up.  I went to the O2 store to get a nano sim. I explained the situation to the advisor, and he told me to go home and use the Swap My Sim page. Given that I'd explained the entire situation to him, I expected everything would be ok. No. Turned out I needed my old phone and old sim to do this. Back to the live chat. I explained the whole situation to the new advisor and hoped for the best. I went round in circles with him for about half an hour before he got the gist of my issue.  That seems to be the general vibe from live chat - round and round in circles, nobody listenting properly and cheesy lines like "my heartiest thanks".  My whole situation has made me think I'll leave O2 when my contract expires. Better with a tin can and a string. 

  • X1 Platform is a waste of time

    I do not see the logic with supporting a platform that does not work properly. This so-called "X1 Platform" is nothing but a waste of time and very glitchy. These Comcast people really need to know what they are doing and make this work. I am paying too much for poor service and if need be I will not pay any more money to Comcast until my poorly cinducted service is fixed. Not worth the headache. If anyone here has the same issues please do your self a favor and switch to another company....you'll be glad you did.

    Picture freezing is CLASSIC incoming signal issues. I am 98% sure you have fixable issues. You just need a knowledgeable and experienced tech. When you call Comcast request "in house labor" so they don't send a subcontractor.
    X1 can and does work very well. Mine has been trouble free for almost two years now.

  • Am I wasting my time with iM08??

    Karsten had a fantastic article on slow-motion for iM08 which said that the users at these boards found a flaw when exporting from iM08 (blur and magnification).
    I am currently spending hours on a video preservation project where I'm importing all my VHS, SVHS, etc into iM08, cleaning up the titles, and exporting.
    Am I wasting my time? Someone just please tell me the worst of it. I have foreseen some of this by telling my mom to keep her iMac G5 on Tiger (with iMovie HD) which I sometimes use too. It turns out that I've gone back to Tiger several times for other issues.
    Should I be doing my editing on iMovie HD instead? I think I'll call it quits for tonight and hope I get some responses tomorrow because I really would rather not be wasting my time if iM08 is a piece of trash (even if I never noticed it prior to now).

    Okay, info I probably should've written down in the first place (but I was on the phone and typing and working atst, lol)... but I went about it a confusing way:
    SVHS player (resolution 420 lines)
    Sony DCR-TRV17 miniDV handicam
    iMovie HD 5.0.2 (on Tiger)
    iMovie '08 (7.1.4 on Leopard)
    My SVHS signal output through RCA cables (reason why I'm starting over... I didn't realize the camera had an SVHS cable input until just now) into camera. I assume I've already affected the resolution.
    Camera DV out (FireWire/i.Link) to import mode on iMovie HD.
    I transfer the .dv file (no export) from the Package Contents over to my laptop using iMovie '08 and begin editing titles there while re-"sweetening" sound on GarageBand.
    Ultimate goal is to put everything on DVD.
    (My mom uses the iMovie HD to make family videos that ultimately go onto DVD. Sounds like I've done okay by telling her to stay there.)
    I'm already reading the iM09 has the same issues. I'm thoroughly disappointed. I can't really afford Final Cut Pro. I'll work around this later.

  • A bunch of reasons Technical Support is a waste of time

    1. You need warranty to report a driver bug
    2. They cant tell you what type of hard drive your computer needs with out warranty
    3. they cant help you with any thing without warranty
    4. They have horrible, bug filled print drivers

  • Blackberry desktop software 7 is a waste of time - disappoint​ing!!!

    I wish I had not accepted the option to update my desptop software from v6 to v7. I have since been unable to synchronize and have been through the re-installation process several times without success. The software kept looking for 'Blackberry desktop software.msi' under c:\Windows\installer\ folder. I am now fed up!! What a waste of time, this is not good for business.
    Can any tell me where I can get the most up-to-date version 6 from a BB site? I would like to revert back to a working software.

    I am facing one issue at the time of creation of transfer order for inbound delivery.
    If I create inbound delivery for purchase order with account assignment as 'M' (Ind. cust. w/o KD-CO), inbound delivery is not updated. Also document flow for inbounde delivery s not updated. I can create N number of transfer orders for on inbound delivery. Need help to resolve issue.

    1) How to handle if the one system is down for long time when other subsequent systems are up and getting the data. ( The scenario  is  that we are sending   data to 3  different  Receiver and  one Source ) we cannot  stop the source  and cannot  resend the data to  the  down  system  because  we will loose  the sequential  order..
    2)  Message Missing though it is Successful in Sxmb_Moni and in Adapter Communication Channel
    500 Internal server error we have to find Manually and apply the SAP notes. Increase the Queue, Fine Tuning the Performance, increasing the Session of the Particular Adapter
    3) If it is Huge Load, the Message content  tab   does not  appears  ..If that is the case how to handle the situation
    4) 100000 + records how to handle it. SAP XI takes 4 hours to deliver to third party system has to send the data in 30 minutes...with help
    5)  How to make  a counter value  for  group  of  messages  handled  by  particular  Interface.  for  example  though the  messages  are chunked to  several blocks  we  need  continuity for  the counter
    6) Trace for JDBC adapter
    7) To debug in Visual Admin

    for the system down XI makes the 3 attempts to resend the data to that system and the frequecy for eachtime is maintained in the paramter in SXMB_ADM...you can increase the parameter value so that XI tries to resend that many times before throwing the errror in SXMB_MONI...if still system is not up then once it is up you have to restart the messages in order....
    2) Message Missing though it is Successful in Sxmb_Moni and in Adapter Communication Channel
    Message missing ( if it sucesfull in SXMB_MONI and CC then you should recive the messgae in the target of the CC, it cannot say sucessfull  and then dnt deliver...

    this delends on the interface flow( data) depneidng up on how system is performing you might end up doing the fine tuning......

    there is no alternative to this,,,if the payload is huge the MM tab takes some time to show the data only thing you can finetune to XI server ( check blogs on this)

    100000 + records this is a huge number,,,,but should not take 4 hrs to process..if it is there is something wrong with the system...you have to do the finetuning and find out y it is taking more time.....
    ideally you can break this 100000 record into 10 files each containing 10000 records and process,,,,,use any file splitting program and call it in OS command in file adatper
    5) How to make a counter value for group of messages handled by particular Interface. for example though the messages are chunked to several blocks we need continuity for the counter.
    Need more info
    6) Trace for JDBC adapter : adapter monitoring details are not sufficent?

  • Having issues with my Time Machine backups...

    my mid-2009 MacBook Pro seems to be having an issue with time machine.
    I have an external, 1TB western digital harddrive that I used for my backups. it's about a year old. last weekend I took the harddrive with me on a trip - I kept it inside it's own neoprene case that was in my backpack for the entire weekend. the drive functioned without issue afterwards for almost a week.
    then, last Friday, it wouldn't complete a backup. I wasn't sure what the issue was so I (foolishly) erased the drive and just began again as a new TM. now it's still having issues backing up.
    I've tried repairing the disk permissions of my internal drive, and that actually seemed to help the TM complete a backup.
    usually it will just stop backing up, and sit there for ages without doing anything. I choose "skip this backup" in order to end it, and then try to force another backup right after. the problem, then, is that it will start but won't do much after it reaches 4kb backed up or 23kb. that's not a typo - it really says kilobytes!!
    not sure what the issue is at all, or how I can fix it. I have completed a backup since I erased the drive, but it's doesn't seem to want to carry on with regularly scheduled backups.
    is it an issue with the time machine harddrive, or something deeper with my computer? are the backups that I have done safe? as I said, I was able to perform an initial backup after I erased the drive... if I end up replacing this computer, will I still be able to restore from the back up?

    Cannot figure out what your talking about since it makes no sense.
    If you are the account owner you can go to the My Verizon web portal http://www.verizonwireless.com
    You must log in with your cell number and your my Verizon portal password. Not the account pin.
    Once there you can change your plan and services. However repeated incorrect login attempts will lock you out of the site. It a fraud prevention measure.
    1-800-922-0204 call support with your cell number and or account number and account pin and they can assist you.
    If you don't have the information then there is nothing they can do.
    If you can verify who you are they may be able to reset your account access. But only if you are the account owner.

  • Misled and disappointed - don't waste your time with this "player"

    Frankly, I feel extremely misled by the description of AMP on its product page. Calling it a Media Player and all the talk of being able to watch what you want, when you want and streaming and downloading video - all you can *actually* do is watch stuff from the signed up content providers, or that you've already got on your hard drive (and have presumably got a player for already, that will almost certainly take up a lot less screen estate than this beast). Oh, and there's some mention of adding RSS feeds of videos - though looking at other posts here whether that works is debatable. Anything else might as well not exist.
    I had hoped that it would be a way of watching embedded streamed flash videos without having to have the whole webpage that they're on open - this would give you just the video, so would be more compact, and would be resizeable so you could watch it at any size you liked, not just the default or full-screen. After all, coming from Adobe, there would be no problem about having to reverse engineer the RTMP format.
    Maybe even (though I thought it unlikely) being able to download videos where the provider permitted it - no worry though, there are other tools for that.
    Also - the design. A massive window, not resizeable at all except to minimise / maximise. Appalling contrast - it's like being in a cave, everything's so black. I couldn't even see that there were scroll bars - just waved my mouse around where I thought they should be.
    It's like having the worst, most useless part of RealPlayer (the download centre, or whatever they call it) and not the player itself. This is *not* a media player - a client, maybe.
    Frankly, the only reason I can see for installing this is if there is some content that it has that you can't get anywhere else. If not, don't waste your time - use something else.
    Like I say, I'm disappointed. I feel like I've been lied to and had my time wasted. Unless I'm *really* missing something??
    Now we'll see how easily it uninstalls...
