Group Cost  - Additive cost for mark-ups

Dear Experts:
Here's my scenario:
a) Group Costing activated with 10 and 31 views in OB22.
b) Plant A, Company Code A sells to Plant B, Company Code B via inter-company STO
c) Cross-company costing active for legal valuation
I'm looking to cost a material in Plant B with a mark-up in the legal valuation view and have created a cost component for 'Delta Profit for Group Costing' at the company code level. This cost component does not allow any cost elements to be assigned to it. But during CK74n, the system won't let me create additive costs for the Group Costing (or any variant) without using one....sort of a catch 22 situation!
Kindly help what I'm doing wrong..

Can't believe I asked this question - the additive costs don't show up when creating cost estimates using the Group Valuation costing variant!

    I've created a special alphabetical list of markers, using a custom name for the marker.  The list generates just fine and I have the page formated as I want, except for the need to add group titles.
    I created, on the resource page, a GroupTitlesAML paragraph format.  The line on the resource page looks like:
    Symbols[\ ];Numerics[0];A;B;C;D;E;F;G;H;I;J;K;L;M;N;O;P;Q;R;S;T;U;V;W;X;Y;Z
    But it is completely ignored.
    Are group titles even available for marker index lists, or only for actual index markers?  In other words, is GroupTitlesIX only available with files that have the IX suffix?
    I also noticed that doing something like "<Emphasis>maker text<Default Para Font> more marker text" is ignored, in that all of the text appears in the marker list.  The special text is not even parsed as special text.

    Michael is correct. If you want an index, then create an index of markers (IOM), NOT an alphabetical list of markers (AML). A list, being a list, does not have group titles, there being no grouping in a list. Thus, the GroupTitlesAML is meaningless for a list.
    I have a user-defined marker called warning. I also create an index of my warning markers (IOM). Although I do not group them under group titles, the IOM reference page does have a GroupTitlesIOM line that basically groups them all together.
    So, create an index or markers, not a list or markers.

    Here we are following fifo method valuation. we are using SAP B1 2007B PL 04.
    I have a doubt how do we account the additional cost like Rent, Electricity etc.
    and What G/L Account need to specify at determination level. Here we are determing G/L account with account groups.
    I have a document for that but that doesnt give me clear picture of additional cost and
    G/L accounts.

    Hi Shashi,
    static costs should be included in a BOM as standard cost items. This will add to the item cost of the finished product.

  • Additional  Cost for Item cost

    My production ordr have additional cost: labor, electric. I don't define standard cost for them. I want to fill in production order these costs equal x% of Itemcost. Can i do that. Or if you have other ideas to use additional cost, you can help me solve this problem.

    You can set up a calculation for the value you need based on values of the current Production Order and return the value to the Item added to add Labor cost to the Production Order.

    The tables for storing groups in SAP are SETNODE and SETLEAF. The codes in the previous message posted by my fellow SAP consultant are transactions and not tables.
    The classes are:
    Cost centres - 0101
    Cost elements - 0102

    Rather than giving my own versions I have compiled here SAP inputs. Pl let me know if you require any clarifications:
    Costing variant has the following components:
    <b>Define Costing Types
    Define Valuation Variants
    Define Date Control
    Define Quantity Structure Control
    Define Transfer Strategy
    Define Reference Variants</b>
    <u>Costing type:</u>
    In the costing type, you define the purpose of a material cost estimate by specifying, for example, which field in the material master record the costing results can be transferred to:
    Update Cost Estimate
    Standard price Standard cost estimate (01)
    Tax-based price Inventory cost estimate
    Commercial price Inventory cost estimate
    Price other than std price Modified standard cost estimate or
    current cost estimate
    No update Any cost estimate
    Define Valuation Variants:
    Define Valuation Variants
    Here you create a valuation variant containing the parameters required for valuation of a cost estimate.
    You also specify which costing sheet should be used to calculate overhead.
    Valuation Strategies
    Material valuation
    Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices from the accounting view or costing view of the material master record to valuate materials. You can also access prices from purchasing info records and condition types.
    For material cost estimates, you also specify whether additive costs can be added to the selected price.
    With configurable/configured material components and with procurement alternatives, the sequence defined here is ignored if the strategy "price from purchasing info record" was selected, in which case that strategy is always executed first. For more information, refer to the SAP Library in the component Product Cost Planning under Raw Material Costing or Mixed Costing.
    Activity Types / Processes
    Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices in activity type planning or actual activity price calculation in Cost Center Accounting or Activity-Based Costing to valuate the utilized activity types and business processes.
    You also specify which plan/actual version is used.
    Subcontracting
    Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices in the purchasing info record. In purchasing, quota arrangements are used to create a mixed price for materials that are manufactured with external vendors with parts provided by the customer. You can specify whether the quota of the individual vendors that are entered in the source list for the material to be processed should be determined through the planned quota arrangement or the actual quota arrangement.
    External processing
    Here you define the sequence in which the system searches for prices in the purchasing info record or routing operation for valuation of the external activities.
    Strategy Sequence
    You define the individual valuation methods for the valuation variant as strategy sequences. For the valuation of the material components you define a strategy sequence that reads the fields of the material master record in a particular sequence such as:
    1. Planned price 1
    2. Standard price
    3. Moving price
    The first price that is not zero is used to valuate the material component.
    Target versions:
    Target cost versions  are used in the following ways:
    In variance calculation:
    To control which variance (total variance, production variances or planning variance) is calculated
    To valuate unplanned scrap( scrap variance)
    Unplanned scrap is valuated in the period-end closing activities when the variances are calculated. You can specify in a valuation variant for WIP and scrap which cost estimate you want to use to calculate the target costs for the valuation of unplanned scrap. You assign the valuation variant to target cost version 0 if you want to include it in the valuation of scrap.
    When you are using a cost object hierarchy with active distribution, you use the target cost version to control which cost estimate the system uses to calculate the target costs, which are used as the basis for determining equivalences for actual cost distribution.
    The actual costs collected at the level of the hierarchy are distributed across the orders in accordance with these equivalences. This distribution is proportional to the target costs for the cost element under which the actual costs are written. Actual costs for material costs are distributed in proportion to the target costs for the origin group, such as for the material, if you have entered an origin group in the costing view of the material master record and have set the indicator Material origin, for example.
    If no target costs were calculated under this cost element, enter a cost element group in the target cost version. The actual costs are distributed in proportion to the target costs for this cost element group. This cost element group should be complete. If costs were updated under a cost element that is not in this cost element group, no distribution is possible.
    You can calculate equivalences on the basis of SAP standard target cost versions 0, 1 and 3.
    The standard system supplies the following target cost versions:
    Target cost version 0 ( total variance)
    The amount of the total variance generates a posting in Financial Accounting during settlement.
    For this version, select actual costs as the control costs and standard cost estimate as the target costs.
    Target cost version 1 ( production variance)
    For this version you choose actual costs as the control costs and planned costs as the target costs.
    Target cost version 2( planning variance)
    With target cost version 2, the costs from the preliminary order cost estimate are interpreted as control costs.
    For this version, select planned costs as the control costs and current cost estimate as the target costs. You cannot calculate planning variances for the product cost collector.
    Target cost version 3 (production variance of the period)
    You compare the planned costs of the period calculated on the basis of an alternative material cost estimate (such as a modified standard cost estimate) with the actual costs of the period on the basis of the yield delivered to stock in the period.
    The base quantity for variance calculation is the yield.
    For this version, you choose the actual costs as the control costs and the alternative material cost estimate as the target costs. To determine the alternative material cost estimate, enter a costing variant and choose a costing version.
    The target cost version specifies which data is to be compared. The target cost version also specifies which variance variant is used and therefore which variance catagories are calculated. You can define a different target cost version for each controlling area

  • Target cost for co-products which can be substitute

    Is there somebody who is working with co-products which can be different each time you consume raw material?
    Here is the situation when we want to analyse variance Actual vs Preliminary cost.
    We use Production Order with Co-Products.
    When we create a Plan Order, the order costs and qty are calculated for the order header.
    Actual costs and qty are charged to the order header as they are incurred.
    PLAN: 
    Main co-product   900 PC
    Co-Product A         50 PC
    Co-Product B         50 PC

    Raw material         250 PC
    ACTUAL:

    An apportionment structure is used to apportion the costs and qty to the primary products and co-products.

    Variance calculation and settlement are then performed at the level of the order item, not at the header level of the order.
    Here is the target qty calculation made by the system.
    Main Co-Product  250 PC * 800/900 * 80% = 177.78 PC
    Co-Product A        250 PC * 100/ 50 * 10% =    50.00 PC
    Co-Product B        250 PC * 100/ 50 * 10% =    50.00 PC
                                                                               277.78 PC of raw material
    Since variance calculation is performed at the order item level, that means you can not substitute one Co-Product by another one. 
    In our business, we can substitute Co-Product by another one.  In this example we planned to make a total of 1,000 PC finished products and we produced a total of 1,000 PC finished products.  So the target quantity for the consumption of raw material should be 250 PC, not 277.78 PC as calculated by the system.

    I think  i am missing some thing here. For Configurable product or VC materials there is no standard cost. Costing tab 2 standard cost is zero.
    When a make to order sales order is created with this VC materials, based on system settings and quantities system picks up the correct BOM and routings. Through costing funtionality with in sales order , the sales order need to be costed and marked.
    This sales order cost is used for  valuation of material movements including 101 from corresponding productuon order and 601 for delivery.
    As far as i know for VC material target cost has nothing to do with Standard cost, because there is no standard cost at all for the material.

    Hi,
    Once the Config releated to Setup stock transfer order is done.
    To include the cost you need to include the pricing procedure related to STO needs to be assigned to your schema group.
    Goto SPRO -MM-Purchasing -- Conditions
    Here you need to assign the Schema determination RM2000 to your Purchasing organization.
    Then when you create the STO in the recieiving plant, then you will get the condition tab in the item details of STO, there you can maintain the delivery costs for that material & send the STO to your supplying plant.
    Supplying plant will send the material through MB1B & with mvt type 351 to recieving plant.
    At the time of Goods reciept system will capture the delivery costs in the recieving plant for that STO.

    In maintenance plan you can speciefy - order type,task list type,task list group & counter.
    when system automatically create service/maintenance order then system will determine plan cost, but for this you have to maintain planned price by t-code KP26.
    And then you can see report by IP31

    hello i just found out my area will hopefully go live around middle of 2014 to get fttp at my house does any one know how much it cost for installation fee for fttp? do you get your own non shared fiber optic cable only you that use it? and do you get 300 meg download and 30 meg upload how much is it normally a month is there unlimited packages ? any info would be apreciated

    I think it all depends wether Openreach have either installed FTTP in your area (rather than FTTC) and that your exchange is FTTP or FTTC/P enabled or if they have installed FTTC with FTTPoD (Fibre to the Premisis on Demand) in your exchange area.
    Your exchange Padstow (WWPADS) is a designated FTTC/P exchange (meaning FTTC will be available in someareas within the exchange area & FTTP will be available to some other areas within the same exchange area)
    This means that if your property is in the area that has been upgraded with FTTP rather than FTTC then, I don't think the FTTPoD installation charges apply as the fibre infrastructure is already installed and in place to your nearest DP
    Eithern though you maybe in a area that has FTTP (not FTTPoD) rather than FTTC you can still choose to have Unlimited BT Infinity 1 (upto 38mbps download &  upto 9.5mbps upload) or Unlimted BT Infinity 2 (upto 76mbps download & upto 19mbps upload) rather than choosing to have one of BT Retail's faster Infinity (Fibre broadband) services (ie either upto 160mbps or upto 300mbps).

    We are using costing for sales order & we have maintained the costing variant under the path IMG> Controlling> Product Cost Controlling> cost object controlling> Product cost by sales order >premliminary costing & order based costing>product costing for sales order costing>Costing variant for Product costing >Check costing variant for product costing.
    Under this we have maintained the Costing variant, Now we need to have Additive cost. But didnt found the tab in the costing variant where as when we check in T.code OKKN which is a part of Product cost planning we can find the Additive cost tab.
    How to run addtive costing run for Product cost by sales order scenario & please guide me with one example.
    Or else is there any configuration where we can assign standard costing variant PPC1 instead of Costing variant SOC1 ( which is a costing variant of Product cost by sales order.

    You may please try using Unit Costing for Sale Order.
    It is over an above the sale order costing you have done. So in case you want to post any additional known cost, you may do the unit costing for the sale order after the sale order costing.

    You can use the following logic for extracting the Actual cost of a PM order.
    Pass the Order No (AUFNR) in Table AUFK and fetch the Object number (OBJNR).
    Pass OBJNR value in table COEP.
    You can get the actual cost of the order in COEP table.
